The Golden Skewer Bar & Grill in Havering

I have visited the Golden Skewer many times as we live in the area. The staff here are always friendly, food freshly cooked to perfection and at decent prices too! Over the years we have got to know Yan and his family well and I can honestly say they are very friendly, professional people who take pride in their business and making sure their customers are always looked after. If you're looking for great authentic Turkish food at reasonable prices in nice chilled surroundings then give this restaurant a go. You won't be disappointed.

Ordered three lamb shish and other items. Came to £68 delivery one hour wait Lamb was so tough we could hardly eat it Salad and rice very small. So disappointed as birthday celebration. Not at all like it used to be. Rang to let them know in case they had a dodgie batch of lamb But they were not interested. Avoid lamb shish at £14 much more expensive than it should be and unedible.

Meeting up with a group of friends we enjoyed a lovely Turkish meal. The food was hot, tasty and brought with a smile from the young girl who attended to us. I have been to this restaurant several times and always the food has not disappointed. Shall be returning again.

Doesn’t even deserve one. Ordered for delivery .Food arrived after an hour and a half (when it said 30 mins) and was stone cold and inedible. Completely unacceptable. We wanted to use a local business and we certainly won’t be using them again .

Had a meal at this restaurant yesterday with my daughter. The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean and set out well for social distancing. The staff serving us were polite and efficient and service was fast. Jugs of water were brought to the table together with drinks we had ordered. The food was plentiful and delicious. I can highly recommend this restaurant the cold meze and moussaka mmm! The best moussaka I’ve tasted in a while.

Today we went to the Golden Skewer Turkish in Cranham , the food was amazing , service was exceptional , very polite and so helpful and welcoming as always. We order regularly from this restaurant as like to use local businesses Especially at this time. They often take a lot longer to deliver than stated but we still order as food ok. Today we placed an order for delivery. After they had accepted the order they called to say they couldn’t deliver after all, could we pick up. They said they would give us something on the house. Turned out, not something that we wanted but a pot of hummus that went straight in the bin. They also made us wait past the time they said. We will not be using them again. Terrible restaurant. Terrible service. They just do not care.

Ordered at 12.30 midweek and was told 45 mins before I can pick up (delivery even longer). Arrived to pick up and my order hadn’t even been started! They said another 10 mins and then I waited another 25 mins in an empty restaurant whilst they prepared another customers huge order and served them first when they arrived! No apology given after waiting so long either. The large sharing platter we ordered was very expensive for what it was and mainly just ‘boned’ meets like wings and ribs. Shish was non-existent and wasn’t enough for a single piece for each person. Really not impressed with the food or the appalling service.

I have visited this restaurant serval times now with my family and the food is great. Good value for money. The staff do provide a decent service however they could be a bit friendly and smiler at times. The restaurant is in a fairly quite location so isn’t very busy, there isn’t much of an atmosphere but that the only negative!
