The Golden Lion Inn in Shropshire

Super friendly pub, breakfast was really good and staff were amazing. However we had a grim room. The staff did say to keep the windows closed as it was above the smoking area and then it was also next to the club next door 😬 the bed was not really comfy and the decor of the room was grim. Even with the windows closed you could smell smoke and it’s a shame to diss the place as the pub itself and the staff are amazing. Just probably the worse room we’ve stayed in.

Lovely pub serving good beer, my parents had the Shropshire Suite for the weekend were very impressed by the room friendly staff and breakfast choices ideal for them to leisurely walk around the town centre and explore the area

A proper real ale, traditional pub. Friendly welcoming landlord and an excellent selection of real ale from Holdens.

Perfect location in the heart of Bridgnorth, lovely breakfast and the room was great and very comfortable and clean, could do with mattress topper and extra large pillows,had our own little patio too, would recommend, look forward to a return visit next year.

This pub is a hidden gem. We stayed in the Retro room. The room is huge . The bathroom is immaculate with a strong shower. The owners are very friendly and so helpful. The breakfast is huge . You have your own personal parking space at the back of the pub. 10 out of 10. Very enjoyable stay and would love to stay there again.

Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent cooked breakfast could not fault it. Shame about our room. The Golden suite, bathroom was really dusty, rubbish bin has not been cleaned for months. Toilet seat was very loose, no mattress protector on the bed. One curtain at the window, the blind had obviously fell down and was on top of the wardrobe. Coffee machine had water in that was stale and mouldy. Needs a lot of TLC.

Popped in for a couple of pints have been before and will go again beer ticks the boxes for me

very enjoyable 2 night stay in Platform 3, large clean room with good shower, lots of tea & coffee etc. Good English breakfast included is good value for money. Allocated parking spot for each room. Friendly pub with good real ales. plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants very walkable

It's a really nice old pub. We stayed 2 nights in the button room, designed by Jay Blades, very spacious. We enjoyed the cooked breakfasts, but they do not do lunchtime or evening meals. The carpark was a little tricky to get in, but there is a designated space to park. The pub was in the middle of being decorated during our stay, but there was no noise from the painters even though they worked through the night. This pub is in a great central location near shops, restaurants and the cliff railway. There is a fairly steep staircase to the rooms.

A really enjoyable stay. Hosts and staff were great, lovely big breakfasts, but sadly, no other meals served. Good selection of beers. Nice bar. We stayed in the button room, very spacious. Nice and central to explore Bridgenorth and the surrounding area. Parking spot provided, but narrow access to get in.

Room very noisy with next door club until 1 am. En-suite shower a little dirty around the bottom mechanism.

We always pop in here for a drink when we visit Bridgenorth.Great service from friendly staff and excellent quality of beers at very reasonable prices.

A nice little boozer with a small but well-kept selection of ales. Cobs and bar snacks are available. There is a lounge area as well as the bar. Rooms were comfortable and warm. Breakfast was excellent.
