4 of us visited for lunch. Nice inside. Friendly staff. Good menu but expensive! Small portions! Cheap chicken too! But it is Edinburgh! Probably won't visit again. Was still hungry when we left.

Staff were lovely and food was amazing. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend.

This was my first experience with Chinese cuisine and it was divinely delicious, on a scale of 10 it would be a 15! I was impressed by the service and the friendly attitude of the staff. The order was brought instantly, unlike many English places. When I am in Edinburgh again I will definitely visit this restaurant again. Thanks to the team for the positive emotions and delicious food.

Very large portions and also very tasty, normal prices for Edinburgh, duck with rice in plum sauce unfortunately without vegetables, with a beer - around £30.

We came in here on a Friday (late afternoon/early evening) for our tea. I had the beef curry and my other half had chicken fried rice. Both dishes were very good. The service was very good. The atmosphere was a bit quiet, but nobody likes a rowdy restaurant. the prices were a bit on the high side, but as it's in Edinburgh I wouldn't expect much else. Apart from the two minor negatives it was a nice experience and a nice meal. Id recommend giving it a try. The staff are very polite and welcoming, service is quick and simple.

Lovely restaurant. Food is always fantastic and the portions are very good. Would recommend the chicken wings, duck in plum sauce and the crispy beef.

Service is polite and fast. Food is average Chinese Takeaway quality. Portion size is very small, but the price was high end. I could have possibly forgiven the high price if I had of left with a full belly. Or I could have forgiven the average food if the price represented the quality. But both of these things together results in a poor experience. Good eateries are plentiful in Edinburgh, personally I wouldn't choose this one again.

The staffs were very courteous and attentive. The food was really good, highly recommended and the price was worth it. I will definitely come back. We ordered the bbq spare ribs, wanton soup noodle, beef brisket hotpot, egg fried rice and har gow (not in the photo).

We ordered sweetcorn chicken soup, Char Siu, green peppers in black bean sauce, and chicken fried rice. Initially, I was a little hesitant because of the less-than-4-star rating, but the food exceeded expectations. The waiter kindly let us know that one of the dishes we ordered was on the spicier side – exactly how we like it. The flavors were bold, and while the food was a bit saltier than your typical Chinese takeaway, it wasn’t overwhelming – I actually really enjoyed it. I strongly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back.

Very pricey had the beef chow mein very disappointing

Me and my friends visited this place during our trip to Edinburgh. The lady who served us was so lovely and friendly. Other staffs were also so polite. We really appreciated the atmosphere, as it was relaxing and warm. Decorations were cute too. I can see the owner really takes care of their place. As for the food, we got beef noodle soup. Since, i am soup lover, i loved it. However, the soup base was salty side and other food portions were small. But we still loved our experience.

Food was lovely, service was great and quick staff was do helpful and the lady ordered us a taxi and waiting to make sure we got in outside as there was road closures in the area. Would recommend this place to go in Edinburgh great value for money too.

Visited on Monday 25th Nov. As we have always done every year we come to Edinburgh. However this time qas not great. Our starter was cold on the inside but we got this changed and our main was ok. The upsetting part of our visit was at the end of our meal. There were only 3 tables including ours so it was easy to see the others as each table paid they received a calendar. We then paid and received nothing..... sorry our little tradition of visiting this place has came to an end .

The food is very bland and can only be described as horrible. Fried rice is easy to make, but this one was dry, cold and flavourless. If I could've given 0 stars, I would have. Avoid this place. It needs shutting down.

Fui con la esposa. Tenía pollo limón. Me dijeron que debía estar crujiente, pero estaba empapado. Arroz mal cocinado. Los springrolls de carne casi no contenían carne. Nos quejamos, pero todavía tenía un 10% de agradecimiento añadido al cheque.

Best meal we have had in a long time. We were taken as walk ins on a Saturday night and seated straight away. Great service, friendly and efficient. The food was unbelievably good, 100% exceeded both of our expectations. Authentic Chinese food, would highly recommend.

Enjoyed my meal during the Fringe. Had the Salt and chilli squid and deep fried shredded beef in chilli sauce with the egg fried rice. My friends had selection dim sum of Har Gow Siu Mai and Beef Ball Ginger and Spring onions Ginger and Spring onions Beef Dumplings. They're really good and the service is good as well. Will be back again!!

Awful food. Waited an hour and 20 minutes. Food was over salty, way too spicy, and this was not mentioned on the menu. Gyoza was not pork, but a pork sausage in the middle. They got one dish wrong as well. I complained, they argued the gyoza is made with fresh pork, but it was clearly a pork sausage in it's casing still. Bill was £170!! What a joke. Never had such a disgusting Chinese in my life! Got a portion of the money back, but still over £100. Avoid this over priced place!!I'd give minus stars if I could!

Celebrated my graduation with a prearranged banquet here and it was amazing. The environment is warm and welcoming, perfect for a family gathering. The food was truly delightful, especially the ginger spring onion lobster noodle, the lobster was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The staff here were attentive and friendly too. Prices were very reasonable, and I will definitely recommend this place to my friends.

The service is friendly and the toilet is clean. That's where the positive review ends - the prices for the food on offer are far too high. The price of a portion of rice is an additional £3.50. The tourists are being ripped off. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

We popped in for a takeaway. While not cheap, the food was delicious and the portions were generous. The staff were great, adding whatever condiments we requested cheerfully and without fuss. We regretted not eating in; the restaurant was clean, cosy and warm. We'll be back next time we're in Edinburgh.

A group of us visited after a show in Edinburgh and were very disappointed in the quality of the food and the extremely high prices of same. When we sat down we had to ask for prawn crackers on his return the waiter brought one small bowl? I had chicken chow mein which was dry and tasteless with a distinct lack of chicken Not one person enjoyed their meal costing a mortgage Only after we got the bill did we realise the prawn cracker are charged at £3.70 an item every Chinese restaurant I’ve been in give bowl for each of 2-3 people absolutely free Suffice to say we will never be back and would encourage anyone else to leave a review if they are as disappointed as us Only positive comment was the staff were great

Fantastic lunch. Great friendly service. I opted for the specialty Crispy Beef which was absolutely amazing, and for the first time tried Parsnip added to Chinese food !

Takeaway beef curry and fried rice at lunchtime £19.80. The food was good, I would have been happy with it for around £10, which is the going rate. £20 is beyond excessive and is the sole reason for my low rating.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, I like the buffet style because you can try different foods without worrying about maybe ordering then discover you don’t like it if you were in a restaurant with set menus

We visited last night while on a weekend break for our last night, the food was absolutely amazing! Ok admittedly it’s very over priced and expensive was over £100 for 2 of us, however I would definitely return if I ever visited Edinburgh again!

Overpriced, charged nearly 90 pounds for 2 people, asked for a chicken satay, got nothing like a satay, was told it was a different recipe, absolutely not a satay dish. Even though the staff assured me it was, there is no explanation as to why the difference in taste and look it was more of a black bean sauce . It cost 7 pounds 10 for noodles with the supposedly satay chicken that was already over 15 pounds. Also, 5 pounds for fried rice to be served with the sweat and sour chicken my husband ordered. Plus a service charge of 8.10 apparently 10% of our fee 🤔 totally not going back

Terrible service, horrible food.

The food was good , however we ordered beef in black bean sauce which was really quite spicy, in my experience this dish is not ordinarily a spicy one and my friend struggled to eat it. For £24 for a main course it's quite a lot to not be able to eat it. It was very tasty apart from the spice and good portion size.

Authentic Chinese and Cantonese food. Excellent customer service. Not long to wait for food to arrive. Beautifully cooked and tasted divine. Well worth a visit.

I can’t believe that Chinese food can be so disgusting and the price is too expensive. A portion of fried rice is eighteen pounds and tasteless. The rating of 3.8 points has proven a lot of things. The service attitude is also very poor. Ask the waiter for seasoning, After，my friend asking a few more questions, she rolled her eyes at my friend. Unexpectedly, with such a service attitude, she also added ten to fifteen percent to the bill as a service fee. When we checked out, we directly stated that there would be no service fee.

Cheap takeaway food at premium restaurant prices. Fried rice was wet cooked rice, had not been anywhere near a wok. Wonton soup was a very watery broth with no flavour. The wontons themselves were okay. As for the other food we ordered, some was okay and seemed traditional. Unfortunately, the very small portions of these did not reflect the price at all.

The food is very expensive and portion sizes are not great. £21 for Sweet and Sour chicken and rice. We thought the dishes would serve 2 but ended up having to order extra. One of our party ordered a chowmein but couldn't eat it. No one came to ask if food was OK we only got one drink order whilst there. Was the food OK, it was edible thats it, our local takeaway is a quarter of the price and much tastier. I would not recommend and definitely wouldn't revisit. I'd visit greggs 2 doors down.

Food was okay nothing special. Wish I’d have done my research. Service charge 10% that was not okay and very expensive be careful there’s a special menu but no prices on it, what a shock when the bill came.

Visited this place for a chinese meal. Can say for sure it was the worst, over priced food I have ever attempted to eat. All dishes ordered were substandard. Chow Mein, curry and chilli chicken. One of our party actually left without eating and the rest of us regret not doing the same. Completely ruined our night out. Will never ever go back here again. Avoid like the plague.

We are from Texas and are truly speechless, the food was amazing cooked perfectly and with so much flavor the lemon chicken was very delightful and not overwhelming the chicken was lightly breaded and the lemon sauce was not overpowering the service was attentive and very patient.

The fried rice was just cooked rice. The Kung Pao chicken was too sweet! The beef and chili sauce had a funky after taste! Staff was wonderful!

We order what they say was the best on the meny.. We try to eat IT, but IT was terrible. Leftovers miks in fried rice Taste Notting. When we Will deliver IT back, they say we have to pay for IT. We realy try to eat this, but we give UP after 20 % of the portion. Still they want us to pay. Food for pigs and service from the Long past times We strongly recomend, dont go there. Some places they say that the guest should be satisfied, but this is not the place

I appreciate why this place has been in business since 1964. The food was amazing. The service was incredible. If we lived here, we'd be going back regularly because we've found our favorite place for food in Edinburgh.

We phoned and booked dinner two to three weeks in advance: a birthday treat. The guy took our phone number and verbally confirmed. When we arrived it was shut: it shuts every Tuesday. They couldn't be bothered to get back to us. If this is what they call customer service, then we won't be back. Pity I couldn't post without stars! They deserve minus stars. Please note. Despite the reply below, no message was received, and no image of the text was sent. We gave a land line number! The date was the 1st August NOT the 4th August.

Whilst in the capital for the fringe, my friend & i decided on having some chinese food for lunch..Wish we hadnt!! Came across The Golden Dragon, looked lovely from the outside, very dated inside...Not a great selection on the menu & the daily specials board, seems to have been the same daily specials for quite some time, going by some of the photos posted by previous diners... we decided on chicken satay & fried rice, sweet n sour chicken boiled rice, portion of prawn crackers, we didnt have any starters, 1 diet coke & 1 small glass of water... the food wasnt that great to be honest for the extortionate cost, the satay was tasteless & chicken was quite rubbery.. The rice arrived in small silver dishes, was actually very stodgy, like it had been over boiled... we ate what we ate & asked for the bill.... £53!!!! the rice wasnt included in the cost of the chicken dishes, seriously must be the dearest rice in scotland, there was literally 3 spoonfuls in each silver pot!! 3 young lads at next table all had rice dishes, no starters & a portion of curry sauce & chips, also a beer each, they're bill was over £90!!! Certainly wont be rushing back to Golden Dragon next time i'm in Edinburgh!!
