Delicious curry, delivered early. Would recommend.

So the food was amazing, but it was a little cold unfortunately! Still, it was really tasty and the man who gave me my order was absolutely lovely. I also received an extra poppadom and pot of mint sauce!

Love this place. You won’t find a better curry around here. The owner Kamal so personable and chatty. Always go for the pompadoms & chutneys. Recommend chicken tikka starter, so tender. My husband loved his lamb sag. Then we shared cucumber raita, tarka Dahl, bhindi baji and lemon rice.

This is worst curry I wouldn't recommend come here

I have had currys all over Europe. This has to be the worst curry ever. It was flavourless soup with tough hard chicken. It was shameful to even serve this.Do not recommend.

Amazing curry! We ordered takeaway for a large group (so tried lots of dishes on the menu) and we were all really happy! Kamal was very friendly and helpful.

I was here for dinner, I had a vegetable korma. It was nice to be fair. The staff were a little rude though like we were in the middle of ordering our curries & he walked off, but he came back, I thought it was a bit weird & odd while we were in the middle of ordering food. The food was good though. I also had onion bhajis & they were good too!

Favourite place to get curry. Paneer Shashlik is delicious and they seem to be able to make any dish vegetarian, so the vegetable Dhansak is perfect.

We had a, delivery. One dish, the lamb tikka masala was tough and the sauce was thin, bright red and not at all flavoursome The bread was undercooked

As always, we had a really lovely meal. This is reliably one of the best Indian restaurants in Swansea, and definitely in Mumbles. Staff are great, the atmosphere is good, the food is very reasonably priced for the high quality. Very happy to highly recommend.

Over the years - and especially after COVID - I’d got used to the averageness of my local curry houses, so was astounded when I had my meal here, quite by chance, tonight, as we were only visiting Swansea and I was genuinely blown away by the quality of food and service too. My experience reminded me of some great currys we used to buy in London many years ago, then during my 13 years in Oxford I never came across anything as good as what I had tonight. Thank you! We’re only 45 minutes away and now I won’t even bother trying anything else, will go straight to you, when in the vicinity..

The best chicken curry out of all the curry restaurants in Mumbles.

I always give good reviews, please check my other reviews but I had to review this place. Food taste was ok but service was terrible. We were asked to order everything at one go from drinks to appetizers to main course to desserts. We told them that what if we order and need a further helping they were like no this isn't how it works, you have to order at one time. Super wierd! We tried to reason with them but they were very rude and said that if we don't agree we can leave. Anything we asked started with a 'No'. Being from the subcontinent, we treat customer as God. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Please try a different restaurant. Shockingly manager was as rude. But when a white couple came in they started to be like sir/mam what do you want and we're pleasant. RACIST behaviour towards fellow Asians, Wow!

Went there on the back of good reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Food delish. I can recommend the dhansak. Staff so friendly, chef came out for a chat, clearly takes pride in his cooking. Meat so tender. Also Good value. proper old school Indian, as they should be, just good honest good quality food

Out of the Indian restaurants featured in these reviews we chose the golden curry. We weren't disappointed with the food, delicious. I choose a new dish Chicken shakuti which was tasty indeed!! The wine choice wasn't so good a very weak pino grigio and probably the drinks side is the weaker part of this restaurant. A note to the owner..you have a lovely restaurant but your decor outside in particular needs to be modernised / new look as I wouldn't choose your place over others if I didn't read online reviews. Best wishes.

Myself and my husband first came here on our first date a couple of years ago. We were absolutely delighted by the quality of the food and service. The chef is outstanding, he really knows about flavour and the curries we’ve enjoyed have been consistently good. Nothing seems too much of an ask, the staff are so friendly and efficient. In a nutshell, it is an excellent place to enjoy a curry in or to enjoy at home.

The food is always good here, we’re always welcome, even turning up with a whole party didn’t phase The Golden Curry. Takeaways are excellent too, food is always hot and tasty. Much like yourself. 😍

We ordered a Takeaway from the The Golden Curry this evening, and it was a great experience. They have a 4 star Food Hygiene rating which is the best of all the Indian restaurants in Swansea (something I always check after a bad experience previously), and the food was exceptional. I would highly recommend this. We ordered early in the day online (which you can do at any time), and the website is really easy to use. Later in the evening, I got an email to say that my order had been accepted (which was re-assuring) and it was all ready for me when I went and collected it at our desired time we selected earlier. They also offer delivery, but we were passing by. The food was great (we ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala, Vegetable Balti, and Vegetable Jalfrezi as our mains, and then all the usual sides including rice, naan and poppadoms). Everything was extremely tasty and cooked perfectly, and the quantity of food was spot on. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an Indian restaurant or takeaway in the area.

We sat down for food on a Sunday evening. It was pretty quiet, but I'm told it gets very busy with the Mumbles crowd who know a good curry house. Very interesting menu with a get new dishes for me. Everything we had was really good, great spicing and the heat matched the menu descriptions. The staff were great and the owner is helpful and very funny. Definitely going back soon

We had a good selection for six people takeaway service was excellent and food was lovely lots of flavour and plenty In the portions high recommend here, it was a very busy night as well.

Lovely food, worst service we have ever witnessed! We are new to the area and had a lovely meal on a Saturday night but when we phoned a taxi to come and collect us at the end of the meal, the owner started ranting at me and my guests and the other guests in the restaurant saying we needed to leave. The table next to us were two older gentleman who were regulars and looked at us confused as we were all unsure as to what was going on. The owner started shouting across the restaurant to a member of his staff asking what time he started his shift, he shouted ‘I’ve been here since 8am’ then the owner turned to us and said ‘see, get out!’ . We were confused as when we got to the restaurant and asked if we could have a meal he said ‘yes of course’. If he wanted to close, he should have explained to use there and then. We were only on the restaurant for 45 minutes. We then said to the owner that our taxi was on our way and we had just paid £70 for our meal if we could wait inside for 5 minutes as it was -3 outside, but he refused. The two older men next to us were equally as shocked. We told the owner it was disgusting the way he had treated us and we would never return again. From a respectable couple who were new to the are and trying to give money back to the local community, we will never eat here again as the way we got treated was absolutely disgusting. Shocking customer service; paying a bill and phoning a taxi and asking to wait inside for 5 minutes and offering to pay extra for the privilege but being told ‘no’ is just unacceptable. We will never pay this restaurant again.

Excellent meal last week our first visit and it did not disappoint from the very friendly welcome by the MC to the fabulous meal. Just delicious. I had the Chicken Handi and it was superb. Will definitely be going back and soon!

Delicious curry. Went with our cricket club on tour and we were a bit on the loud side, but the staff were still very helpful and friendly and the curry was one of the best I've had.

I really liked the Indian food here. After few months not eating an Indian food, I was looking forward to it. The appetisers with papadom and chutneys were fantabuloustic! Loved it much! Then the starters samosas and onion bajhi was not too bad, could do less with the oiliness. The briyani was not overly spiced but good balance, however the chicken chunks were not even, some were really soft and juicy but some were just too dry and tough! The chicken korma, was a little too coconuty and the color wasn’t right, too pale, the peshwari naan was nice, the special egg fried rice was good. The two young male staffs that served were very attentive and friendly. Overall 3/5 👍

Loads of portion just not tasty 2nd time and still the same missing spices is the only way i can explain it, pity i wasted my money, back to the Mumtaz for fabulous food... My mistake shouldn't try other places when you can eat in the Mumtaz

We have visited a number of times now and each time we cannot fault the service from the owner and his staff! Lovely friendly atmosphere. The menu has a good variety of choices and food is fresh and exceptionally tasty! Wholly recommend!

A legendary venue in the heart of Mumbles, The Golden Curry is my favourite Indian restaurant, and definitely the best in Swansea. While other restaurants no longer excite me like they once did, I still always get a special feeling coming here. Kamal and Ali are always friendly and helpful. They are also incredibly welcoming, which is so important in hospitality, as it sets the tone for the entire stay. Both of them are fantastic! The décor in the restaurant is luxurious, with plush seats and stylish artwork. Authentic music also created some great atmosphere. These little touches really enhance the dining experience. The menu is extensive, with dishes to suit all tastes. I ordered the Chicken Korma, with sides of pilau rice and chips. The chicken was fresh and flavorful, with the korma sauce adding to the wonderful taste. The rice and chips were also tasty, and there was lots of sauce left over to compliment the rice and chips. Overall, a fantastic meal. I've had many happy memories here, and I know I will have even more here in the future as well.

Pre ordered takeaway vegetarian for two for 8.30 over Easter weekend on just eat was ready when we got there , took it back to camper van on sea front & it was lovely , being a lover of Indian food this was excellent , was a suprise to find Poppadoms and sauces too as it wasn’t advertised in meal , will definitely use again when back in the mumbles Thankyou

In Mumbles to visit family. Found the golden curry on trip advisor.Ordered a takeaway meal for four.Absolutely delicious.Very good value. As good as I have had anywhere including India.Very nice people.absolutely recommend this.

Food was superb. Service was good. Manager less so. Over friendly and often on his mobile phone treating reception like his office. I ordered a bottle of wine from the very friendly waiter and the manager interrupted to say he would take care of that. On my guarded. Needlessly? Not sure. I’ll find out. Food was brilliant but I don’t like the ambiance where the manager is overly present on his iPhone, ordering staff and being over friendly. Will I come back? Probably but the manager needs training to improve the experience. Do not order staff about publicly and don’t use yr mobile phone in the dining area!

Good delivery time but food was bad. Watery, sour tikka Masala that was inedible. Peshwari naan not great either.

This is my favourite Indian restaurant in the SA3 area. Never had a bad meal with you and your staff are all lovely. However, last week I had a takeaway and it was all sauce and very little meat, which was really disappointing.

Food was really lovely and service was exceptional. Under this new management it's the best Indian Restaurant in Swansea, with cleanliness and service level you'd expect of a Michelin star. Gotta try it.

We are staying in an Air B and B in the Mumbles. We ordered a takeaway to be delivered. I ordered a Chicken Jalfrezi and boiled rice for my husband and a plain naan. I had a Chicken biryani and a peshwari naan. The food arrived on time and was delicious. They forgot the rice for my my husband( which we had paid for) but luckily the portions were substantial and we were both full . The naans were excellent

The food was great. But the service was poor the staff didn’t listen to the orders properly and the food took an hour to arrive.

Absolutely hands down the best indian in Swansea, Food rich, not laden with oil and onions like other places and divine. Can say this confidently after eating in every Indian Swansea has to offer, (the old Miahs was by far the best, church opposite Joes, much missed). Hidden Gem, wont stay that way for long.

The staff were very rude and the food was not very good at all. When I got my food they kept on looking over to see if we were finished. I would definatley never go there again. If you liked being stared at by a stranger then go to the Golden Curry.

Seating and that is alright to be honest, however the place had a weird smell to it, i made a complaint to the boss but he said it was nonce ense... hmm maybe i was over reacting. Not that nice food though.

10 of us had food on new years eve!!! Amazing service and amazing food, really bizzy place great atmosphere, food was very clean and light.

Although recently refurbished to a very high standard, I usually get a take away from the Golden Curry. Its a family run restaurant and Kamal and his family are always very polite and always accommodating. The food is excellent.

We were very disappointed by the whole experience here on Christmas Eve. The restaurant was not full but the service was terrible. We waited about 15 minutes before we were given menus, only one person in our party wanted a starter, this arrived an hour and a quarter after we had arrived, our main courses arrived one and a half hours after we had arrived at the restaurant. I think part of the problem was that there was a continuous stream of takeaway orders being taken to the front door, I'm sure this was at the expense of keeping customers in the restaurant served in a reasonable time. The food was very disappointing, my son and I both had a prawn balti, we both agreed that this was not a balti sauce as we know it and which we have eaten on numerous occasions, we think it had been bulked up by using Beef Oxo so it was more like a beef gravy and very salty. On top of that the person in charge spent most of the evening shouting from one end of the restaurant to the other at the overworked waiters, it was hardly a relaxing atmosphere. We left there thoroughly disappointed, we will not go back.

Went there with 3 friends to catch up, we all thoroughly enjoyed. Lovely atmosphere and the staff are so friendly and attentive! The starters were nice and fresh, spiced perfectly. We all ordered 4 different mains one of them being shahlik, a lovely creamy chicken makhani, a chicken tak a tin the tastiest I’ve tried so far and everyone’s favourite chicken tikka masala! The food wasn’t bland like other places and nice long fluffy rice. Will be our regular from now!

A rainy Tuesday night in the Mumbles and we’ve just got back from an excellent dinner at the Golden Curry. As curry snobs from London and regular visitors to India, we like to think we know a good curry when we eat one. Our first test is always a plate of onion bhajis and these ones did not disappoint. A really interesting range of dishes, not overly hot but packed with flavours and all very fresh and tasty. Lovely attentive staff and absolutely nothing to fault. Highly recommended.

Staying in the Mumbles for the weekend and cane upon this place by chance - so pleased we did! Made a telephone order and was told it would take 35 mins. When we got there it was ready. Staff were lovely and welcoming and food fresh and amazing. Would highly recommend.

I was more than surprised when I found this place in the heart of Mumbles. It is one of the finest curry places I visited so far on my journeys. Tasty dishes cooked by the highest standards, good prices, nice range and well known to local people. I recommend this place if you want to dine alone or with partners, family and friends. We cook and eat a lot of curry and this restaurant is excellent. Friendly service and superb food. Not too greasy and all the curries were different. Would highly recommend.
