Best fish and chips in Peterborough. Portion is quite big. Would recommend 10/10

Dropped by for small fish and chips , cooked freshly while you wait . Was lovely and hot.

After a long day from work, decided to get fish n chios for dinner. Food was good but the attitude of the lady server was rude n disgraceful. She was speaking so softly that I couldn't hear, so I got bit confused with my orders. Very poor customer service.

Loverly food been with these for years but no more took 1and half hours to come phoned chippy said what u want me to do about .when it came driver didn't say one world and it was all put in the bin as was bloody cold shame we spent alot

Food was good , but the attitude of the lady serving tonight was disgusting.I was treated like a second class citizen for being English, and I was expected to wait while she served people who came in after me. When my order was ready she tried to give it to the wrong customer, when I pointed out it was my order she was clearly annoyed even though I had already waited 25 minutes. I won't be returning until the staff learn some customer service skills.

We have brought 2 Donner kebab, chips with salad. We were disappointed, there was little amout of kebab, no salad. It was mostly just chips. This is second time we get disappointed.

What truly stood out was their exceptional service and attention to detail, especially when it came to catering to allergies. My daughter has a milk allergy, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they are incredibly allergy-friendly. Zed was fantastic. As for the food itself, the fish was perfectly fried to a golden crisp, while the chips were seasoned just right. One thing that sets this establishment apart is that they are one of the few that can accommodate my daughter's milk allergy. This speaks volumes about their commitment to inclusivity and customer satisfaction.

The fish was really greasy the curry sauce was like water I will never use this shop again

Very disappointed fish greasy chips soggy

After using this shop many times without problems tonight we were seriously sold short with two seperate items ordered ( Donna meat and chips) put in one container (previously each dish was packaged serperately). Half the usual amount of each dish for the usual price. When my wife queried it she was told this is how it comes. Well it never has done in the past. How to up your profts?... half the amount of food supplied for the full price. We will not use Golden Cod again! ( or recommend to anyone else).

Food is really nice best fish and chips in Peterborough..the only thing I would change is the lady on the till, she always looks so grumpy and unapproachable..people buy from people.. would have gave 5 stars otherwise..

If I could I wouldn’t give a half star they need to be more educated on customs service, go to customs service course might help you business the foreign lady and ada man very rude when you trying to explain your order shame really if you can’t be bothered change your job won’t again not for me 👎🏽.

Great fish and chips great value for money

I normally go for battered sausage and chips, I always love the food from here and they never fail with my orders and this is one of the best in Peterborough in my opinion

Normally we absolutely love there food never had a fault, other then tonight, collected food at about 7:10pm after being told 15 minutes an hour later and we got our food, the chicken nuggets was cold and the service we received from the lady was awful so rude not just to my partner but to other customers too

Nice fish and chips but sadly you have to spend a minimum of £20 to have a delivery,some of us live on our own and there's no way one person can eat £20 of food,I think if you have to pay delivery then it shouldn't matter how small your order is..

Not great if you want halal fish and chips. Uses same heated display units for both non halal (such as pork sausages) and fish with a real major risk of cross contamination...

Fantastic food and the meal deals are great value. Mini fish and chips with a drink for 4 quid. Bargain.

Worest take away possible sent a food delivery which was never delivered and when I called them they refused to help wouldn't even contact the delivery driver and then decided to be a racists towards me and the person who ordered because we were foreign would not recommend ordering from here and me and my friends and family will never order from here again absolutely disgusting people

Freshly cooked to order so you have to wait but worth it. Very tasty and a good price as well. I had haddock which comes skin on which was not mentioned, but non the less it was cooked perfectly and very tasty. We'll worth a visit.

I was served by a very beautiful lady. She has a generous hand. She served me in the afternoon. I had to leave and come collect my food later. Even though I came late she didn't register any annoyance. Top Notch service, by her. The food was great. Nice and crisp fish 🐟, complement by great fries

My son and I love this chippy. We've been going here for at least two years and never been disappointed 😁 The staff are really lovely and helpful. We usually order online and pop in to collect it and rarely have to wait very long at all. My son reckons their doner meat and cheesy chips make the perfect takeaway 😂 Definitely give them a try as they're brilliant!

I've been coming here for 15 years and still unarguably the best chippy in Peterborough, have tried others occasionally but still come to this one. Always worth the drive right across town, passing the competition on the way. Staff always extremely helpfull and polite.

Place'd an order for home delivery fish and chips not very happy delivery was so late fish was so oliy no good 🤮 they need to be more quicker in delivery and make sure fish doesn't be so oliy

Fetched 3 pieces of cod and chips for family, been up most of the night with trots ! Too much batter on fish and chips were under cooked. Normally a nice place to eat out but on this occasion I was disappointed.

Mini fish and chips is a piece of fish approximately the size of a child's hand. Plenty of chips. Clean and hardly any grease. Really polite lady at the desk.

This is the lunch of choice for my workplace every Friday. They do a mini fish & chips for £2. In 12 months, our Friday fish club has grown from two of us to 22. Its the highlight of the week!

... this place is so popular. Also very friendly, we got chatting to several people in the queue. It can get very busy, but it's worth the wait. Cod fish supper with a large battered sausage. Excellent. Prices keen too. It seems the £2 mini is the one to go for according to local folks, but we had a large cod that was huge - one shared between two of us, chips ditto. No hesitation in recommending.

A lovely fish and chips from here only thing that let it down was the slow service. Once order was complete it was delicious

The food here is good, but the customer service from one woman in particular, (Emily) is awful. She has such a bad attitude, one wonders why she's working with people. The other girls are lovely.

Small but perfectly formed. Always fresh, good batter and good price especially on smaller portions for kids. Curry sauce v popular addition in our house!

There are not many Traditional Fish and Chip shops left and I have to say that The Golden Cod is by far the very best Fish and Chip shop in the country... The Fish and Chips are very high quality and the service provided by the staff are excellent... I would very highly recommend this Fish and Chip shop to others out there... You won't be disappointed...

Gave this 1 star due to the fact the fish and chips where far to oily and the fish basically had no taste, chips where plain as a spud out the ground. The amount of oil that came off the food you could honestly bottle and resell

As a tourist in the area of Peterborough I craved for some Fish and Chips and found this place on Google. I have to say that this is the best Fish and Chips I have ever tried. Lovely crisp batter with golden chips absolutely delicious. Guys you have to try them out 5 stars all the way.

Restaurant for fish and chips.. Have sitting area where you can eat. They suggested food for takeaway.. The fish is good and fresh.. When they cooked it's normally time for waiting.
