The Golden Bowl in North Lanarkshire

The food was awful, totally tastless , size of curry sauce portion was tiny , will never be back and if anyone has any sense they won't waste their money there .

Phoned them 21 times after opening time no answer this is my usual take away very disappointed.

I have enjoyed every meal I've had from here . My favourites are salt & pepper wings, chicken curry, sweet n sour chicken and their chips are crispy and fresh :)

Went here never again!!! Food was luke warm plus the portion sizes are tiny. Breast Chicken curry and rice both very small tubs plus quite expensive. Just appalled at portion size and fact that food not even piping hot. DONT RECOMMEND

He estado yendo al Golden Bowl en Condorrat, Cumbernauld, por más de 30 años. Es mi lugar favorito para ir. No hago muchos riesgos cuando ordeno y normalmente me quedo con los platos que amo.Normalmente tengo las alitas de pollo de sal y pimienta, aunque sus sopas son geniales junto con sus costillas.como plato principal, solo tengo Chicken Satay sin verduras, ya están acostumbrados a mi pedido e incluso tengo a mi hijo de 14 años comiendo esto también.Me encanta su pechuga de pollo al curry con arroz frito y papas fritas.Te recomendaría si estás pensando en una comida para llevar en Cumbernauld o más lejos. He probado otras opciones para llevar en el área y no coinciden con el Golden Bowl.

Im super fussy about Chinese takeaway food but l have to say the Golden Bowl Chicken Satay with boiled or fried rice is so.... nice as is their Chicken with green pepper n black bean sauce. This takeaway comes highly recommended.

Si tu vegetariano va a otro lugar, nunca he experimentado un curry como ese, básicamente ponen un poco de ensalada en salsa de curry. Simplemente no podíamos comerlo. Sal y pimienta chips generalmente un favorito fue decepcionante. Tengo que admitir que el arroz era bueno y el servicio rápido, pero que el curry era imperdonable. . . . Usa tu imaginación setas, pimientos, tal vez no sangrientos, tomates crudos y pepino.

Very similar experience to reviewer below. Have been ordering from this Chinese for over 15 years - as has the rest of my family. However after complaining about my order on Saturday night I was met with sheer contempt and blistering attitude from three separate members of staff. Long story cut short: From my experience, this establishment has zero care or consideration for their customers. I believe they simply see customers as numbers and - due to the current high volume of "numbers" - if a "number" dares to complain about their food or service they will be met with utter disdain as they (Golden Bowl) feel a "number" on its own is dispensable. Long Story:The order I received was incorrect (the main chicken dish had been replaced by chips) but by the time I got home I was too hungry to call up and ask for them to send the right thing so I ate the parts of the order that were correct. After eating the food I gave the business a phone to let them know that they had messed my order up and this was actually the second time in a row that they had done this. Firstly, they tried to cast doubt on whether it was them who had messed the order up and then I was met with the (apparent Golden Bowl standard) response of "what do you want us to do about it, you've ate the food now"I then explained that normal redress in the food industry would be to adjust the customers bill. This was like throwing petrol on a fire - the shift manager exploded into a tirade, shouting over the phone that "you can't get a refund for something you've consumed". I then tried to explain that I wasn't looking for a refund for the food, I was looking to be redressed for the bad experience I had had (which to me is totally normal in the food industry). After a lengthy phone call (getting nowhere) I decided I would take the wrong part of the order to the establishment to show them that they had in fact got it wrong. After five minutes in the shop (and more back and forth) they admitted they got it wrong but there was nothing they could do about it as the food we got had been eaten. I tried to explain in an exacerbated tone that: I wasn't looking to be refunded for the food I had eaten, I was looking to be redressed for the incorrect order which resulted in a poor experience and inconvenience. They were having none of it and actually only got more and more aggressive and offensive.I know this seems like I'm going over the top as it was just a wrong take away order. This was my attitude as well and when I phoned them I was very laid-back and polite - definitely was looking to get into a crazy argument on a Saturday night. But I would like to note that it was this business who raised the tone and got argumentative and aggressive in the first instance which supports my statement above. As a side point - the food we got was rotten as well. AVOID!

We've recently moved to Condorrat and have now used the carry out shop on about 4 or 5 occasions. The food is always very nice, good portions and good value.

We have been going to this carry out shop for 18 years and the one and only time we complained ,the staff's attitude was terrible.everything about the order tasted terrible and the answer on the phone was "what do you want me to do about ".my husband spoke to the boss a couple of days after and he apologised saying it wasn't the normal chef and the next meal was free.a week later we went to order our usual meal and the girl said its only curry sauce and chips that were free. We're outraged and it Has went down the tubes and were not the only ones with this opinion

Nunca me ha decepcionado con el Golden Bowl. Esta es una comida para llevar que en realidad me anima a probar diferentes cosas en su menú (ya sabes a qué me refiero, jajaja, todos SIEMPRE ordenan con qué se sienten cómodos o SIEMPRE ordenan lo mismo en lugar de intentar algo nuevo). Estoy TAN SEGURO de que baje activamente la lista cada vez que ordeno algo nuevo. . . . y estoy encantado cada vez que lo intento:). . . . esto viene de un perfeccionista y un dolor completo en el a ** cuando se trata de llevar a cabo: siempre pidiendo cosas que no están en el menú, extras en mis órdenes, etc. Vengo de la familia de un chef increíble que tiene más de 40 años de experiencia e incluso ha ganado una medalla de oro por su comida. Él me entrenó en lo poco que sé, así que sé cómo cocinar una comida decente. La calidad, el servicio y la entrega de Golden Bowl son insuperables. . . ¿honestamente? este lugar debe tener una cadena o al menos hacer un curso de enseñanza sobre cómo hacer una exitosa comida china.

Nos encanta el cuenco dorado, la comida siempre está caliente cuando llega y nunca esperamos demasiado para la entrega, el pollo al curry es delicioso, aunque el tamaño de las porciones es un poco pequeño, otros lugares para llevar ofrecen una mayor porción de curry, pero no es así. Nos impiden ordenar todas las semanas

Pedí la comida por teléfono, pero la he recogido antes. La comida siempre es muy agradable y fresca. El personal siempre es muy servicial y amable. Esta vez lo recibimos entregado dijeron media hora pero fue entregado dentro de 15/20 minutos. Siempre están ocupados, lo cual es una buena señal. Realmente no puedo quejarme en absoluto.

1 Visita a la calle a este restaurante de comida para llevar y no volveré. Pedimos un estilo dulce y agria Pollo cantonés con sal y pimienta. costillas Triste informe que este era uno de los platos peor que hemos tenido desde un restaurante de comida para llevar. El pollo tenía una textura extraña y la salsa parecía muy aguados como si de un barato tarro. Nota positiva las costillas barbacoa eran deliciosos, sin embargo como mencioné anteriormente pedimos costillas con sal y pimienta, así que este era todavía un poco decepcionante. La comida no nos hacen mal, pero sólo sabía que un par de veces luego binned. No correría el riesgo de otra visita.

No puedo decir que me quedé impresionado con mi pollo chow mein. Básicamente era insípida, la otra persona que ordena el mismo pensamiento también era insípida. Por otra parte, el pollo con salsa de ostras, pollo y nueces de anacardo y de ternera con salsa de alubias negras las comidas eran muy buenas.

It's a decent Chinese take away

Never had bad meal from here. The chicken chow mein is the best. We travel to this Chinese even though we have one in walking distance. Staff always Nice and friendly.

Comimos aquí cada semana y han hecho durante los últimos 24 años. La comida es increíble, nunca he tenido una mala comida. Creo que hemos intentado casi todo en el menú personal de él están tan amable y servicial si onu sabes que tomar siempre ayudará a decidir

This take away has been in operation for as long as I can remember growing up as a child. Countless Chinese takeaways over the years and never once did they disappoint.

Never been disapointed sometimes delivery takes a while so either pick up or order accordingly when you want to eat.

This is a great we take away, great value for money and does the best Beef Dishes in the East of Glasgow. The staff are really friendly but the deliveries take forever. we phone in the order and collect!

had read all reviews and gave it a go ,food was great although its the first time I have had sweetcorn in chicken fried rice ,service was fast and pleasant and prices were reasonable with large portions my only complaint was as a take away who deliverers they don't deliver to Cumbernauld road moodiesburn which is 1.3 miles from shop but will deliver to other side of Cumbernauld which is 4.7 miles .this is just a personal thing and nothing to with standard of buisness

When it comes to Chinese food, I eat/order out quite frequently as I don't think it tastes the same cooked in the house, and as far as Chinese takeaways go, the Golden Bowl is hard to beat. The staff are always really friendly over the phone and in person. The interior looks modern and kitchen looks nice white and clean. The food is always hot and tasty. Never an issue. They definitely have a higher standard of quality than any other takeaway I've tried. Makes me wonder why other places are so bad.

My go to for weekend Chinese take away after trying a few in the Town.Refurbish and looking sleek and modern, staff are bit young looking but very efficient and always happy and smiling (good asset) even when busy which it is often.I always collect so can't comment on delivery side.Don't think they accept card payments so take cash, machine only few yards away so not big hassle.Food has always been tasty, love Salt n Chilli Chips side.

This is by far the best place in Cumbernauld for a chinese take out. I've never had a bad meal and any friend who have been up and had it have always been impressed. Curry sauce is perfect, chicken satay is perfect. Soup is lacking but that's it!Honestly, its great, nothing more to say!

Use the golden bowl for takeaway the salt & pepper chicken wings are great. Also lovely breast of chicken curry . The curry sauce with onions is great as well. Good value for money prompt service

Okay food, but nothing special! Bit rundown and need of a bit of renovation. Cheap enough but would pay a bit more if the surroundings were more welcoming.

Its your standard Chinese carry out restaurant with no surprises on its menu. However what it does, it does very well and you should have no complaints if using the Golden Bowl.

Living close by to the Golden Bowl as well as other chinese takeaways, i can honestly say Golden Bowl is by far the best takeaway in this region. Friendly staff and doesnt break the bank either

Food is simply delicious and the staff are really nice. I always get the salt and pepper chicken. Can't recommend the Golden Bowl enough. I agree with another review; it can get seriously busy sometimes but clearly for a good reason. I prefer collecting my meal myself, and on those busy days the wait is worth it and definately a spectacle how mobbed the place is, love it!Bill

Over the years we have eaten a lot of meals from this restaurant and we have never been disappointed. Sometimes the wait can be a little long but to get round that we order in advance and then go and pick it up. however, on the occasions we have had to wait the quality of the meal was worth it.

Brilliant pub great for live entertainment drink and food and family brill at weekends for a good nite out
