First time trying this place and was a little disappointed with the food roasties were a bit hard and meat slightly overcooked, service needed some work the young girl it may of been her first day but she was very nervous and seemed unsure of what she was doing. dessert and starter were nice, there is also no drinks menu and the menu needed a clean up.

Nice Pub with excellent beer garden. We went on a Monday. The Goat offered a £10 for 2 courses. We had the ham, egg & chips which was real nice followed by the Cheesecake. The venue didn’t allow dogs so had to go into the beer garden. The young lady (who for very apologetic) went out of her way to provide water for my dog. The staff seem really friendly. The cheesecake wasn’t up to much though.

Always has been a favourite haunt of ours. The food is glorious, usually six real ales to choose from, and the staff are very professional. Recently, Richard has excelled himself and now offers a full 2 course meal for £10 on a Monday evening. I only had my pud because it was free!! I would have been more than happy to pay £10 for the meal, and we'll be going regularly from now on. Thanks to all of you for making an old man very happy😋

We went for the Christmas dinner and was looking forward to it. However, it was the most awful Christmas dinner ever experienced in a restaurant, and l have been to a lot of restaurants. There were 4 of us sat around a very small table where they crammed everything on to it. I was going to ask for a bigger table but my party said leave it. When the dinner arrived, it was only warm, l was shocked to see there was gravy already over the food, you shouldn't do that you should let the person decide if they want gravy over their dinner also the gravy should have arrived in a gravy boat. Plus, the gravy was so thick it was horrible. There simply was no nice taste to what should have been a nice Christmas dinner. One tip chef, do not put the gravy over people's dinner, let them decide if they want it all over their food. The Yorkshire puddings were as flat as a pancake. The Turkey had no nice taste to it. There was no room on the table to put the bowls of veg, the waitor had to remove items from our table to make room. The Christmas pudding was very stodgy. There was a bottle of vinegar on the table. You don't have vinegar on a Christmas table. The pepper needs up grading to a pepper grinder The coffee was disgusting, and after about 3 attempts of trying to get it right, sorry you did not succeed it was simply horrible. The Christmas atmosphere was poor. It was supposed to be a Christmas dinner with Christmas music. What happened, guys? We will not be returning.

Food was on barely warm plates, chips seemed reheated and ham was rubbery. Ordered a late but it was really strong as if they'd ran out of milk. I did get that for free and then they remind you when they shut to follow you to the door and lock up straight behind you. My wife and I like to try different pubs wherever we travel and found The Goat right on our doorstep, and would both highly recommend it for its Sunday lunch we had this afternoon and would definitely come back again, the perfect measure of a great pub well deserving of its awards! We visited the Pub with family for a Sunday Roast and I hate to say it but we were all extremely disappointed. Prior to ordering, I asked what the roast came With, to be told vegetables and cauliflower cheese in separate sharing dishes. When the food arrived, we were served rock hard/dry chunky veg. Hard roast potatoes, chewy Yorkshire pudding and zero cauliflower cheese. Not extra gravy which I had also ordered. When asking about the cauliflower cheese, we were told ‘oh we have run out’ no prior warning or apologies. And this was at 3pm, when the roasts are being served until 6pm and the place was not overly busy. The whole meal clearly was frozen as I asked if I my beef could not have any blood, and I was advised that it was already cooked and it is how it comes. For £16.95 I expected a lot more. The staff didn’t seem to have time for anyone, considering they were quiet. Customer service was really not great. Had to ask twice for a high chair, ask for cutlery and not once did anyone ask if we had everything or how our meal was. I waited at the bar for 5 minutes waiting for someone to serve me for a round of drinks, then a lad come through with his mouth full of food. Just not what we expected for a nice village pub that we have been to several times before. Not worth the money.

Took my family to this restaurant for Sunday Roast, My eldest Son was here with he’s family on Holiday from Sydney Australia. Have to say this venue was bitterly disappointing, had to be the worst Sunday Roast we all had ever had, 2 Roast Potatoes!!, 3 slices of Fat Ridden Beef, and a cheap supermarket Yorkshire Pudding!! Veg was sparse to share!!and the drinks were warm!! Service was bland, with a zero atmosphere. Never again!! Lol!!!

Had a drink in the huge outdoor area on a very hot day on a Saturday. So very quiet only two tables occupied. The pub have built a very pleasant undercover seating area with new tables and chairs for eating and there are lots of picnic style benches with a lovely climbing area for older children and a play area for little ones. The outdoor bar provides for ordering drinks and food which is a bonus. Sadly indoors is dark and oppressive and in need of a makeover without losing the olde worlde vibe. The toilets are well past their sell by date.

It's not aiming for high quality bistro dining, or flashy decor and instead goes for pub classics done well. This is the perfect place for a cold winters day or a hot summer in the beer garden. Basic room, as well as the bathroom; located in a quiet area but close to the center. The bed is very comfortable. The real plus is the owner, friendly and very helpful, who welcomed us warmly and then accompanied us in his car for a tour of Stamford and the surrounding area. Of note is the excellent restaurant, the lamb we tasted is unforgettable as are the wines. It does not have a lift or air conditioning. We were the only guests in the hotel: the lack of a traditional buffet or English breakfast, but replaced by packaged products, and the non-working heating which was remedied with an electric heater in the room, can be understood and not negatively impact the overall judgment. I will stay here again if I'm ever in Stamford.

From the moment we stepped into the apres ski lodge we were greeted with an incredible warm welcome, great conversation and recommendations from the team there. The food was to die for, special mention to the chicken liver parfait and roast beef on the Sunday menu, absolutely faultless! Warm, welcoming and sociable atmosphere and really well decorated space for the winter season. Will be back!

Food quality definitely on the decline over recent months. Ordered sweet and sour chicken nearly all sauce with poor quantity pieces of chicken. Beef and mushroom, all mushrooms with almost no beef and what was there was tough and fatty. Spring rolls were not cooked on the inside. All together a poor meal.
