Very disappointed with the new menu setup of Carvery only before 2pm on a Sunday, expecially when the go for a carvery to find the beef tough, frozen vegetables and instant mash, not to mention cold. I certainly won't be returning or recommending. This wouldn't have happened in Joe's day

We stopped last night in our motorhome. Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely food (reasonably priced) and dog friendly. We had a nice peaceful night tucked up in the top of the car park, I would definitely recommend!

A lovely country pub, part of a chain that needs some love.We have tried this place several times,during the 6 yrs of living near. It needs a heart it needs love it needs the staff to care about ever aspect. Flowers in summer, Fires in the winter, and gravy that doesn't stick like (imagination).Never give up I'll try again next time it changes owners.

Just awful. Had the Gyrow, very poor. A few small pieces of chicken, some salad, mint dressing and chips. Honestly could do better food in Asda Cafe. No real distinguished taste and the wrap was so tough couldn’t cut or chew ir.

Had an amazing Sunday dinner. Delicious and very good value for money. Will definitely eat there again. The pub has a lovely atmosphere, staff are friendly and helpful. Loads of room to sit outside as well. Highly recommend

First visit and sadly the last. Husband had fish and chips and the fish was very thin. My gammon was the flatest I have ever had and cooked to the point of being dry. The dark haired lady with her hair tied back, collected the plates and didn't bother to ask if everything was ok. And the least said about the smell in the gents loos, the better. It's a shame because it's a lovely pub. Oh and maybe invest in some napkins

Stopped off for a drink, whilst on a motorbike route. Great location for a stop, plenty of outdoor seating.

First ever visit to this sizzling pub today, had a lovely meal for lunch and was made to feel welcome from the minute we entered. Lots of choices on the menu, a few deals to choose from especially if you have the sizzling app. Nina the new manageress went the extra mile to accommodate my meal requirements. Upon leaving i met the chef and other ladies that were working and all had a smile on their faces. Will definitely go again and would recommend for a meal if your passing through 😊

Dropped in for the first puppy outing to have food. Dog made very welcome even though he was a little restless. Food was good we arrived late on just before kitchen shut.

I had been recommended to visit by a friend. To be honest I was a bit disappointed. The food was nice although we did ask if carvery was still on with a reply it's only what's left over there!. The restaurant felt a bit unloved. Plus tables not cleared. One of the waiting staff had a sweatshirt tied round his waist whilst serving. Went to bar to order more drinks. Service was slow. Also member of staff at end of bar eating their lunch. So overall food nice but probably wont be back.

Staff and drinks were fine. There were 4 in our party we all had something different. We visited a couple of years ago and the food was excellent, the food this time was best described as poor. Almost everything was over cooked to the point of cremation and everything not over cooked was cold. Food service was slow so we did not complain as did not want to wait another 30mins. Restaurant was half empty. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

Mains were over cooked and not great in general but deserts were decent. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Good menu choice; burgers good as is the fish, scampi, chips, and steak others had. Service was good, food good. Not very busy but fully booked for Fathers Day. Can recommend. Plenty of car parking and seating outside as well

I was in a large party of people. Some elements of my food was a bit dried out, however the rest of the party had excellent food. The staff were extremely welcoming. I would definitely return.

Stop pre-cooking it end's up being overdone which makes it tasteless the only thing on my mixed grill that wasn't was the steak and it was cold not even warm and the chip's with my grandson's burger was really cold, l could tell you were really understaffed as I couldn't believe the amount of tables that was left full of pot's I really hope you do sort thing's out as it should be an ideal place to eat out

The chefs uniform looked like it needed a good wash and she looked grubby .Food my Sizzling Tandori chicken with Veg and rice Over cooked veg ,dry chicken and horrible hard dry rice ,Yoghurt was poured over the dish so was hot when I got it .Husband had mixed grill, Steak you could sole your shoes with mushrooms Shrivelled,dry and cold .All in all terrible so won't be back .

Can't think anything was great. The welcome was mediocre. The table was reserved but the place was empty, no other option given. The food was hot but bland. I had the cajun salmon - no cajun taste at all and the chips were frozen plain chips no taste at all. My daughter had hunters chicken her description was it was OK and her chips like mine were tasteless and slightly under cooked. No salt on the table. Won't be in a rush to return. Has been a few years since last went and I think it will be at least a few years before I go again.

Had a family meal here, table was double booked . Service incredibly slow, waited 20 minutes for drinks to be served as we ordered at the table. Food was very late arriving and delivered to the table at different times. I will not be returning.

We were there wednesday, 10 april teatime, once again the food was great, i love their fishn chips, himself had his favourite gammon, all our friends were very happy with theirs, next time i am having the mac n cheese, love this pub, love the atmosphere, the staff are always helpfull and friendly, there were three birthdays going on and the staff were handling it beautifully.

As an American I'm an expert at Mac and Cheese tasting. I got to say Fox and Hounds has the best I had anywhere in the UK. Also love their beer batter mushrooms. It was like having a bit of America here. Oh and the staff was slammed last night but so professional and friendly. Always look forward to our monthly Steampunk meet ups there.

Although the food we got was nice .. they didnt have a large steak or mushrooms .. they missed one mixed grill from our order and no tea or coffee for after..?? How is that possible?? And we requested a table in the conservatory and even rang up about this , but didn't get to sit there , we got right next to the front door !.. The staff were lovely .

Lady on bar was miserable When asking for some food items and they didn’t have any in there was no apologies just a straight face ‘we don’t have that’ We had booked a table with two high chairs but the table wasn’t ready so we had to sort ourselves out with high chairs. Kids had pasta garlic bread and corn, pasta water and corn juice tasted horrible like the water there wasn’t nice. The gentlemen was lovely but we wouldn’t be rushing back

Where to start? No bacon for hunters chicken. No onion rings to go with steak. Ordered a steak sauce which I had to ask for and even then it arrived after I had finished my meal. Chicken came out cold, waited 40 minutes for replacement before asking for a refund. Wait for food stated 20 minutes more like an hour. Cobwebs on wall! 0-10 wouldn’t recommend!

We booked a 15 seat table for my mams birthday. We all ate different meals but everyone of us was complaining of a upset stomach and was displaying vomiting and/or diarrhoea all the next day. I've been here many times before in the past and food was satisfactory but I will not be returning due to not wanting to risk of further illness from the food that is being serviced nowadays

Staff ignorant, very slow service, venue cold. We pre ordered a week ago but they drastically increased the price on the night! Food lukewarm and lacking in flavour - even the salt was rationed!

Placed in a beautiful village, it's a great place for a pint after a tiring day at work or a meal with your friends or family. There's quite a choice of meals, meals are decent size for a very good price however (and unfortunately) quite bland in taste. Very friendly and helpful staff. The place in general is big, there are plenty of tables, both indoors and outdoors.

Food was lovely. A little wait on puddings but was a very busy day. Staff where very helpful as we have fussy child and he was very happy and eat the lot. So it must have been good.

The young server was amazing very polite and helpful with fussy eaters on our table .the food was lovely especially the carvery meat was very moist vegetables were lovely and gravy not to thin the way I like it

A beautiful friendly family pub. The food is fantastic and excellent value plus both the staff and the locals are most welcoming.

The family met to celebrate mums life and we spent 7 hours in the pub with an open bar tab and the staff was great we also ordered food from the daily menu and this was served in a timely manner. Thank you from us all for helping us all to get together to celebrate our mums final goodbye .

Xmas day was a shambles to say the least,food and service awful and that's being kind

We arrived on time and were seated promptly. After getting our drinks I asked for the boxing day menu to be told it had been cancelled due to staff sickness. Nobody had told us this before or contacted us to tell us in advance as I would have cancelled. The only option to eat was a carvery, that was it! The food was luke warm at best, the veg was inedible and the vegetarian Wellington had been reheated in the microwave as it was very hot on the outside and cold in the middle. Two out of three had a sundae for dessert. Midway through the meal, the managers dog came over and threw up right next to my foot. The manager, who did clean it up right away, gave no apology for this. With food and drink we spent around £50 but never again. I thought with a new manager that things would be turning around after the last disaster but, NO they haven't. I'll stick to the Muston Gap Inn which is 10/10 and owned by the same company!! We will never be back.

Thank you to everyone working yesterday (Christmas day) We ( table of 5) really had a lovely time. Everything was spot on, the right amount of time between courses, a merry atmosphere among the tables we sat near. Definitely will be booking for next year. I visited on the Saturday the 23rd with my family ordering 3 meals and 2 children’s meals. The food had taken so long to come the 8 year old fell asleep at the table by the time the food come she didn’t eat it! All the meals were cold, the gammon I ate was undercooked which has now resulted in me having to ring in sick for work and being sick over Christmas, missing money from work, missing time with family and feeling terrible. I noticed that on the 2nd of September you had stated on Facebook that you were now fully staffed and trained which I believe is not the case. I am seriously concerned for anyone else eating this food and would definitely recommend the managers to have some better understanding on food safety! Only bonus is Steve and the young girl with brunette hair were friendly and had great customer service skills.

We arrived and stood for 10 minutes with no member of staff acknowledging my families existence. At last it was our turn and despite having booked a table, the man behind the bar didn’t expect us or have a table ready for our family of 6. We ordered food and waited. The children’s food came after 20 minutes, although the chicken nuggets were so dry the batter had completely separated from the chicken. One by one, the children finished eating and my husband and I were still awaiting our food. Our food finally arrived 25 minutes after our children’s. My steak came still bleeding despite asking for medium rare. Another couple had a few bites of food and left without paying… no member of staff noticed. It wasn't even busy but the service was shocking. Awful experience. I would actively tell people not to bother going there.

Having been turned away from the Brewers Fayre we were pleased to see it was fairly quiet and there were empty tables. There was only one young lad serving though and we had to wait to get drinks. The menu looked reasonably priced so we placed an order of food. 15 mins later another man wrote on a board that service would be 45 mins. After an hour of waiting he came round saying if we were waiting for food we could go to the bar & get a free round in. We finally got our food but it was very disappointing. The burger, chips and some meat on the mixed grill was over cooked; the ‘sizzling onions’ was half a plate of boiled onions; my creamy Diane sauce was runny & tasteless. We noted several tables all waiting for food by this time. One family got served but had to ask for the children’s meal they had ordered. People seem to eat and then leave immediately. A Dad shouted at his daughter twice. Overall they seemed short staffed, badly organised and the food was bad, so we wouldn’t go back.

Beautiful pub, great food and really good value. Came with the dog who was welcomed with a bowl of water and teenage boys who devoured their meals. Service was a bit slow as we did have to wait quite a while for the food. But overall very good.

Aiden met us with such warmth and kindness and set the tone for our whole experience. This is the best Sunday lunch in this area and we will be back.

Ordered rib and rump and mediteranean chicken . Both meals were luke warm and sent back . When brought back to table food was hotter but seemed to have been badly re heated and overcooked . Sent back again as rare steak was well done very dissapointed with the quality of the food served . Pretty sub standard for a pub that previously served a good meal . Wont be returning

Front of house staff were very helpful and professional, bar/kitchen members very good too. Meals were very nice and tasty, unfortunately one of the meals did not match up to expectations and was not as described on the menu, however apart from the wilted and brown leafy lettuce it was on the whole ok. We booked in for 12.30 and arrived at 12.10 ish for drinks, we ordered around 12.25 (three roasts and a salam salad, we waited for the roast dinners until our party member received her salad, unfortunately this took a very long time to arrive about 30 minutes, we then collected our carverys and all eat together, very nice. At around 13.30 we ordered desserts, two Sundays and a crumble and unfortunately again these took a very long time to arrive at about 25 mins, the table next to us recieving their desserts a few moments before for us, we had ordered before them and a little joke about this was exchanged with them. All in all this was a pleasant meal and we will call again to try other meals from the menu.

Ordered a couple of cocktails...ouch 4 sips and it was gone..no ice cubes.didnt taste the alcohol.. Food was poor .steak and chips and prawns were ordered...no salad had to pay extra for sauce..steak was very small portion and was tuff.. 3rd time here this year..disappointed

The food was good but the service could have been better and quicker . The same lady was taking orders at the bar and waiting on tables and generally run off her feet, she needed help.
