Decent little pub! The staff were friendly and the food was quite good, not amazing but by no means bad. An unfortunate selection of cider but that is understandable. The garden is extremely nice and the toilets are good.

If your a none smoker, than give this pub a wide berth. The beer garden clearly states "No Smoking". But absolutely nobody takes any notice, including all the staff. The designated smoking area was completely unused.

My wife and I enjoyed a very nice carnival day lunch at the Tudor. Bridgwater, on carnival day, was heaving, but here we found a comfortable, peaceful retreat from the bustle outside. It being a very busy day, we ate from a restricted menu. There was plenty to choose from for a meat eater, but my wife, who suffers from that terrible affliction, vegetarianism. had, as usual, a more limited choise. Fortunately, a very nice fish & chips came to the rescue. (I am not sure what she has got against fish). The staff, from the senior hands to the junior trainees, were a joy - as good as it gets. All were very friendly, happy and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. A former native of Bridgwater, I have visited the Tudor many times. It has it all. Premises steeped in history, lovely food, resonable prices and, above all, superb staff. I really cannot reccomend a visir to the Tudor highly enougth.

I am reviewing 2 visits. Our first visit was for a lunchtime sandwich. Our second was for a Sunday lunch. Our lunchtime sandwich was a lovely experience. We sat in the main area of the cafe which was calm, light and airy, nice atmosphere and service. The sandwich was very good, fresh and plentiful. The Sunday lunch was served in what I would call the conservatory. It was very cramped and busy. The air conditioning was turned up way too high, but was turned off on request. The Pynes roast beef was very nicely presented but ruined by over use of garlic. The cutlery wasn't suitable as the knife didn't really cope with the beef, even though it was perfectly cooked. The dessert was delicious, I had blackberry and apple pie. On payment, we tried to use a voucher which had been given as a present. There had been a problem with the system back in June, which had cost The Levels a considerable amount of money. They said that they had sent emails to everyone explaining the problem. Our son checked, but found no trace of any email. He had however had the amount of the voucher refunded a few days after purchase. We paid for the meal, but felt a bit let down by the whole experience. Also one W.C. for male and female for a whole restaurant is not adequate.
