Decent little pub! The staff were friendly and the food was quite good, not amazing but by no means bad. An unfortunate selection of cider but that is understandable. The garden is extremely nice and the toilets are good.

If your a none smoker, than give this pub a wide berth. The beer garden clearly states "No Smoking". But absolutely nobody takes any notice, including all the staff. The designated smoking area was completely unused.

First this is great place, difficult to find but they let themselves down here and there. My food was mostly cold, someone eating with me had cold food too but their plate was thermonuclear! The chef can cook & I guess they had an off day.

My wife and I enjoyed a very nice carnival day lunch at the Tudor. Bridgwater, on carnival day, was heaving, but here we found a comfortable, peaceful retreat from the bustle outside. It being a very busy day, we ate from a restricted menu. There was plenty to choose from for a meat eater, but my wife, who suffers from that terrible affliction, vegetarianism. had, as usual, a more limited choise. Fortunately, a very nice fish & chips came to the rescue. (I am not sure what she has got against fish). The staff, from the senior hands to the junior trainees, were a joy - as good as it gets. All were very friendly, happy and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. A former native of Bridgwater, I have visited the Tudor many times. It has it all. Premises steeped in history, lovely food, resonable prices and, above all, superb staff. I really cannot reccomend a visir to the Tudor highly enougth.

Couple of 50 year olds feeling late to the party finding this gem. We all have our favourites for a Sunday carvery, of which we have visited ours time and again amongst others for years. We’d heard of ‘The kitchen’ at quantock lakes for some time and managed to get round to booking a table this week. How pleased we are with our new Favourite. After easily parking in the well maintained grounds and car park we made our way across to the reception where after the shortest wait we were greeted enthusiastically by a member of the team and shown to our lovely table. Being our first visit the process of service was clearly explained and our drinks order was taken almost immediately and drinks served promptly. We waited a short time to be invited up to the carvery station. Wow just wow, a homely atmosphere was felt as we waited in the very short queue, our eyes focusing on the three succulent meat choices being generously carved for the diners in front of us. We had at this point decided between the pair of us that neither of us could manage the huge offering of all three meats of the large plate we had just seen handed out and decided that the standard dish was on its own going to be a challenge and opted for this. We each asked for two meats ‘pork and turkey’ both feeling guilty neglecting what could only be described as ‘the best looking cooked to perfection sirloin of beef’ we had ever seen. Moving on to veg on offer the choice excelled our expectations. I firstly wasn’t expecting to be presented with a choice of help yourself deconstructed pigs in blankets which I eagerly added to my already generous helping of meat offerings. Next I moved onto a creamy and piping hot cauliflower cheese. Taking a small amount as I’m already considering how I am going to not only fit on my plate but also manage to eat my way through the tasty looking red cabbage, broccoli, peas, beans, chunky carrots, beautiful roasted potatoes, stuffing, and golden brown crispy looking Yorkshire pudding. We added lashings of just the right consistency dark and warm gravy and made our way back to our seats. We had already taken note of the cute and personal condiment pots on our table consisting within the trio of apple sauce, horseradish sauce and cranberry sauce and thought the way this was presented was a lovely personal touch. Condiments served we were both very quiet tucking into our generous amazingly tasty carvery. After a few minutes of processing the fact that everything I was eating was so tasty and moist and cooked to my exact liking I stopped just long enough to ask my wife if this was just me who was experiencing the very best carvery meal I had ever had or (as I was hoping) would she agree? My wife instantly agreed that this was the best we have ever had and also agreed that the service and attention to detail was second to none that we have experienced before. Worth a mention that they were full the whole time we were there and have things organised extremely well to accommodate this. We did notice a sign outside to inform customers that they were fully booked so couldn’t accept walk-ins today which we agree is fair enough when you are this busy.
