Decent little pub! The staff were friendly and the food was quite good, not amazing but by no means bad. An unfortunate selection of cider but that is understandable. The garden is extremely nice and the toilets are good.

Proper local pub. Fantastic tasting beer, Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Newly refurbished throughout including The beer garden which is a great asset to the pub.

If your a none smoker, than give this pub a wide berth. The beer garden clearly states "No Smoking". But absolutely nobody takes any notice, including all the staff. The designated smoking area was completely unused.

Friarn AvenueWe visited on a very busy Friday lunchtime as a stop for our journey to Devon. Free car park & a dog friendly cafe which was good for us. Good selection on the menu. The grandchildren just had to go for the pancakes

27 21 St. Mary StreetA superb stay from start to finish, (20/03/2025) amazing personal, family feel, huge room number 1 and massive bubble bath! Superb sleep in a lovely bed and the road noise was taken care of with complimentary ear plugs. Lovely soaps, shampoos and teas and coffees. The breakfast lady was lovely and glamorous, helpful and friendly. The buffet was basic but table service fresh cooked butchers ingredients on the full English made up for it. Just a wonderful place in an otherwise very uninspiring and not particularly safe feeling town. Parking nearby as no actual car park.
