Been going to this pub for 40 years or more Not changed drastically over the years

Great little hidden pub very friendly and welcoming

Staff a good laugh not been in there a lot but when we do every ones polite means a lot

Unwelcoming. The regulars were very rude towards us. Very clique. All the bar flies make getting a drink difficult. Wouldn’t recommend.

Excellent service and good staff

We went as we was visiting the area and Google said it was a dog friendly establishment. In fact it was a extremely friendly pub full stop. My partner suffers bouts of anxiety in new places and even she was comfortable. If you like the visiting your local atmosphere, you will like here.

At this very moment I’m sat outside this backstreet pub on my hols, found it totally by chance and so glad I did. Very welcoming and friendly lad behind the bar, and the locals are bang on friendly too. Made me and my family feel at home. Music is spot on ( 90s Brit pop and indie) and the drinks very cheap. Keep up the good work , I will definitely be back for a drink next time I’m in Rhyl 👍🏻 Last of a dying breed this type of boozer👍🏻

Decent little pub, great staff, nice pint, good laugh. Table service is bang on. It's a pub you need to try more than once. Sometimes quiet but due to its location in the town center anybody can stop in for a drink so It can get busy sometimes too... Even my van tries to sit down on the outside benches sometimes for a pint... Slowly turning to my new favourite local. 2 bad points, it's next door to work so I cant pull sickies and go for a pint.... Plus If one day you see a big dented white van coming towards you jump out the way fast as he is a terrible driver and you may lose a few toes.

In two minds of how to rate this little back street pub. Has outside seating and pub inside is okay. Nice friendly staff. However, there is no table service that other establishments are offering, to keep punters away from the bar to follow covid restructions. Got our drinks and went to sit outside. This is where the downfall is... the punters! Within 10 minutes someone had sparked up a massive stogie, the smell of weed was almost intoxicating, even outside! Then someone else smashed a glass against a wall in rage. The shards of glass flew everywhere, cutting one guys back that was standing nearby. There were kids there that could've been hurt. Of course then the abuse started. Just thankfully it didn't turn into a street brawl. I may just go back though... a great afternoons entertainment!

Beautiful awesome hotel, our room was fabulous and the staff were very good despite the restrictions.

Sound pub. Great price. Staff great. Me my Mrs and the dog called for a pint. Great local feel. Owner and young lad behind the bar both pleasant and helpful.

Omg what can I say. The food in this place is amazing. All home cooked and so much on your plate that I couldn't finish it. I would highly recommend it for families or if your on your own. The prices are reasonable and the staff are very welcoming I will definitely be coming again

Great Sunday roast in the restaurant upstairs, at very reasonable prices. They were friendly and very accommodating with our request for a gluten free roast dinner. Lovely restaurant, highly recommended.

Hi Ladies and Gentlemen, My Wife Ashley and myself bought the Glanglasfor at auction. We have kept the bar open, and the cafe has had a refurbishment. which will re-open Saturday 8th June 2019. We hope all the seasonal visitors, and regulars will return to enjoy great home cooked food at the reasonable prices you have all commented on. we look forward to seeing you all. Went here on two occasions during our week on holiday. Home cooked food at a very fair price. Will visit again when next in the area.

Great place for lunch in the restaurant upstairs. Went there twice on our last break and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good home cooked food at a very reasonable price. Recommended.

Day out in Rhyl ,and found this amazing place. Narrow stairs up to a large restaurant ,with most patrons being locals. This tells its own story as the food is first class with good value wine and beer to match. We will be back.

The prices in the Glan are really reasonable. 3 meals including drinks came to just £14.80. Can't argue with that I've never had a problem with the food here and the portions are a good size. I particularly like the chips, which is odd because I normally don't The service is fairly quick and about what you'd expect from fresh food. It's a nice quiet place that never gets too busy

What a dump ..never again ..food weeks old if not month's or years out of date

My girlfriend and I always feel welcome here, whoever is behind the bar. They also run family events for families. The place is clean, run well, and always enjoyable.

We found this place by accident on a rainy Sunday and I was impressed. The service was good and the food was tasty and very cheap. We had burger chips and salad for £3.90. Yes the decor was dated but do not be put off. I highly recommend this place.

We went to rhyl and decided to have a meal so we popped in the food was very good the staff were friendly even though it was busy the food came quickly and it was a good portion and hot I would certainly go back again

Visited here yesterday for a meal. I had the pie which was freshly cooked and full of steak pieces. Cant fault the food or service. Cheap enough with plenty of home made plus fried items on the menu. Not a place if you fancy a quiet meal. Great for families with kids etc. Worth a visit deffo!!

Me and my family have been visiting the Glan for years! We have always found the food, staff and service to be of a very high standard and I highly recommend the lamb dinner. I would particularly like to thank Jenny for many good meals and more to come in the future. Best food around!

it was just by chance we found this restaurant .we find the food of high standard plus the boss and staff will do any thing for you even if you have a child that only eats macdonald food they will still make them happy and not push them to eat in

Called in for some lunch today 23/4 a lovely welcome off the staff once you get through the door, ordered the meal and it was lovely when it came and a good portion well worth the money will call here again well recommended!!

The cafe at on top of the Glanhlasfor club served wonderful homemade meals if you want 1,2, or 3 course lunches at reasonable prices its the place to go, we go there whenever we are in Rhyl.

Great traditional cafe upstairs from the bar. Excellent value, well cocked food, friendly staff. Well worth a visit.

Fuimos allí para comer el domingo que nos pareció una buena relación calidad-precio que tuvimos una comida de tres platos, que era de un buen estándar. El lugar en sí es un poco viejo y necesita un poco de un cambio, en particular de los aseos. Por favor tenga en cuenta que sólo es efectivo para el pago y la zona de comedor está arriba, así que un poco difícil si tiene una discapacidad. Vale la pena visitar.

sunday dinner ,both my friend and I went for the beef ,unfortunately it was a little tough and was served only with roast potatoes ,a small portion of mash would be nice ,everything else on the plate was perfectly fine ,

Wanted to try something hearty and found this pub with a cafe upstairs which is nice and quiet away from the pub part and food was really nice and the staff were lovely too.

Been here quite a few times and each meal has been tasty ,well cooked and hot. Especially enjoyed the braised steak and jam role poly for afters. Each time we were served by Jenny who is very pleasant.

plenty of choice and good wholesome food. Service is good and waitresses attentive to you needs. It's like going back in time a little but that is part of it's charm . Meals are just like your mam used to make.

We as a family go here at least once a week the food is always fresh , hot and very tasty not to mention the price £7 for a 3 course home cooked meal :) the waitress is lovely and always make us feel welcome .

came here after looking round for some time and wow what a find, we ate in the restaurant upstairs. we ordered 2 of the 3 course meals and 3 of the children s meals, all i can say is wow, amazing quality for the price, we thought we had even read the menu wrong the prices are that good, jenny out waitress was lovely made a real effort with the children and was very polite and friendly, now to the food, amazing quality fantastic portion size, everything was made really well, children thoroughly enjoyed there food too, cant fault a single thing, defiantly the best meal we had all week, <3 thank you very much,

Fantastic meal yet again, I would recommend you try the lasagne its tasty and you get a large portion with chips n side salad. Good value for money. Staff are lovely and friendly a lovely place to eat and very kid friendly. Will be back soon to enjoy a an Sunday lunch.

Happened upon this place by chance but wasn't disappointed. Yes, its a little grubby but its a typical seaside cafe above a pub. I'd recommend going for the homemade specials as that's what my partner and I went for, lamb and potato pie and lamb casserole, both came with a generous helping of potatoes and veg and both were tasty and the lamb was melt in the mouth! The kids had chicken nuggets/fish fingers and chips. Nothing special but the kids loved them and they had a cup drink and a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream included in the price. Came to £19 for 3 children's meals, two homemade specials and two drinks for us adults. Like I said, the place looked a bit dirty but food was tasty and cheap, you can't have everything!

Called in here after spotting the menu by chance. Took our three young children and ordered kids meals £3 - good sized portions, ice cream, drink and lollypop which i thought was very reasonable. Me and my partner both had lamb which was lovely, veg was nice and portion size good. Pudding was also tasty as we got jam sponge and custard. All food is homemade, staff are.friendly and its reasonably priced.

My mum and I called in for a meal awhile back. Regret we did so after eating. When we arrived there was a bunch of people smoking outside and the smell of smoke lingered throughout the restaurant. We let that pass as we were hungry and figured we'd give it a go. The food was awful and tasteless. We could have gone to Iceland and made a whole meal for a family of 4 for the price we paid. We'll never return.

Visited this place as i had to pop into Rhyl for an appointment for which i was early, fancied something to eat and found the Glanglanfor down a side street, you cant miss it it has a bus shelter outside as a smoking shed which had a group of old men in spitting everywhere.The place is dated and looks grubby, i settled for just a coffee as I had sudenly lost my appetite.Where all of these excellent reviews have come from i have to wander????

Have been going here for at least 10 years and I've always had a good meal here. For a decent price you get a decent portion of nice food and a yummy pudding, plus they cater for all ages.

Been here a few times after my parents telling us about it, lovely home cooked food and excellent value for money. Love their Sunday dinners if I ever visit rhyl I would always come here now for food and always recommend

This is a great little cafe above the pub. the food is all homecook and very reasonable priced. Theres a large menu and something to suit everyone. The staff are very friendly and cheerful. If you are in this area try it you wont be dissapointed. Highly recommended

Good home made food, excellent value for money, all fresh veg, this little gem caters for all, even if not on menu they go out of there way to please everyone, the restaurant is situated upstairs in the glanglasfor, but do serve diabled down stairs, was surprised to read 1 review, about the glanglasfor, as they do not open in the evening, so please do not be put off by this comment.

We visit this restaurant all the time as a family and have been doing do for the last FOUR YEARS and have never had bad service or bad food, the staff here are like family now and me and my family would recommend this restaurant to anyone, yes there are smokers out side but they are drinking at the pub down stairs. They stop serving and close about 3pm so they don't serve evening meals so the bad comment on here is RUBBISH as all the customers that use the restaurant will tell you.

I bring my children here on a regular basis as the children's meals are a fantastic price and include drink and a pudding! All the meals are lovely, its a lovely run cafe that is open everyday till late afternoon, they will also serve disabled customers downstairs which is a separate establishment from upstairs. Lovely home cooked meals and is great value for money.

We have been eating at Glanglasfor at lunch time at all times of the year for many years - the food is home cooked, hot and a great service and price. Good value!

today we went to Rhyl, the traffic was horrendous otherwise we would have gone further into wales. I remembered my mum and dad taking me and my kids years ago to this restaurant and thought i would see if it was still there. it was we had the special menu £7 each for a 3 course.. soup or juice followed by a choice of roasts with 3 veg roast and boiled pots. then jam roly-poly (other choices available) with a pot of tea.. bargain! lovely lady serving .. very friendly and helpful. if we are in rhyl again.. we will visit only downside was the stairs but people who can't get up them can use the pub it seems

Above the Glanglasfor pub is a very nice restaurant that serves excellent homemade food with fresh vegetables. The friendly and helpful staff always make you welcome. Also often has very good homemade crumble dessert. You would be hard pressed to find a better place to eat in Rhyl and at prices that won't break the bank.

my friend and me have been going to the glan for a long time all the meals are excellent i like all the meals that are served but one day i thought i would try the cottage pie now every time i go i think i will have maybe a curry or egg ham and chips but no i end up having cottage pie real potato fresh veg lovely chips and of course gravy to die for well done to you all at the glan and you cannot fault the price p.s like the new topping on the cottage pie

The glan is one of the places I love to go the staff are so friendly and welcoming I couldn't ask for better staff, the food is so tasty always fresh and hot. The price is right not to expensive and its always a good meal.

Family of 5 visited which included 2 under 2's. Liver and onions melted in the mouth! Kids had chicken dinner, plenty for both of then on 1 plate!! Very good value for money, Will defiantly be back!!!

Recently visited the Glan, great food and a warm welcome, fresh veg which is rare these days, my Sunday lunch was outstanding! Will be back to try the steak pie next time! Nice and local to the shops and beach, all in all fabulous!

Next door to this at the top of the stairs is a great restaurant called the glangasfor.the meals are great.very friendly waitress named jenny.always looks after all the customers well.great place you must visit.
