Good value for money on the Sunday roast.

Had a fantastic time here, brilliant drinks, quite cheap, lovely food. The new owners are amazing, very kind people, and there team work well together, always laughing. The locals are all very supportive of them and are very nice to non locals too!

Food was lovely and homemade service was excellent and welcoming would recommend very reasonable price

Unfortunately, the service and quality have gone downhill since I last reviewed. Personal touches have gone for regulars, and we had to request our usual table in a dead restaurant. Waitress was unwelcoming and had no customer service skills. Food took 45 minutes to come out, and we were the only customers to cater for...it was clear to see why... Steak was asked to be medium rare and came out well done. The pork chop was tough, and the fat was not rendered, so it was soggy. We had to ask for the basics of a steak knife with a steak... This demonstrated the lack of training or, indeed, customer care level of the waitress. The whole experience was expensive, and we will not be returning, which is a shame due to the memories from better experiences over many years.

Me, my mum and my daughter came for food a few days ago. This unfortunately is the worst food ive ever had, my mums was tastless, mine and my daughters were both cold. My daughter ordered the chicken nuggets off the kids menu and i ordered the chicken chunks off the main menu. They both arrived and were the exact same size. Yet the adult meal was more money. I sent the food back and waited 40mins for my other meal too arrive. Still tasteless. While we was there 3 other customers also made complaints about cold food, waiting times and food items missing.

First time here, good quality food, excellent service from ordering to receiving considering it was very busy, staff friendly and helpful, definitely recommend it to anyone

Lovely place to eat, staff VERY Friendly and Attentive, however a tad dear for two drinks, BUT would DEFINITELY go again. 👍👍

We stayed closeby for 3 nights on a short break with our dog. We were made so welcome that we went back to eat twice. The food and staff are amazing. Try the steak and Guinness pie! Our dog is from a rescue and sometimes nervous, but wagged her tail, greeted everyone and turned into a diva each time she went in. Wish we'd got the staff names. Next time . . . .

Disappointing experience at The Miners today. The price of The Roast Chicken dinner was not good value for money. Although the vegetables were cooked to perfection the portions were not. There was a small spoonful of cabbage, mash, & 1 small Roast potato cut in half. The quality of the chicken gravy was poor . The Lamb Shank again not up to standard. With 1 Roast potato. We will not be returning.

Food we had was homemade steak and ale pie , 🥧 it was yummy 😋

Thank you to Paul and the staff at the Miner's for hosting our granddaughter's 16th birthday family get together. It was a very enjoyable evening and everything was done to make us feel welcome. Looking forward to many more family gatherings ....in the not too distant future perhaps .

We went for Sunday dinner and both had the Vegetable wellington, the whole meal was absolutely delicious!! The customer service was great especially Kaylie our waitress. Both my mum and myself can not remember when we had a meal as nice as this, would highly recommend 😊

Been on mission to find somewhere on a Thursday night that could cope with 6 . Called here will be first stop next time amazing food and portions . Kids love it

4 adults went to the miners arms and had a wonderful meal and desserts at this place and was well worth the price we paid could not fault our roast beef and roast ham also lamb shank and vegetables Wellington with drinks and also 3 biscuit cheesecake and especially a sticky toffee pudding . Strange last order times 10.15pm and food 7.30pm but what a lovely experience. Staff are magazine and food is true to previous customers downloaded pictures. My food arrived fast. Landlady put on Sky sports and was advised to watch in the cool room (weather belter) my team lost but the pub won.

Came here for a Sunday roast it was amazing you couldn't fault it. The staff where lovely really friendly nothing was too much to ask. Enjoyed is so much I've booked to go again the next day

Took my Mum here tonight as Over from Spain to see family..What a fantastic meal..The pork chops were out of this world..the staff were brilliant.. apart from not having mum's favourite dessert Eton Mess on the menu but wants it next time she is over please lol

Lovely warm welcome from the proprietor . Such a quaint old pub. Food was delicious we had the tikka masala and the fish and chips both were home made by the chef highly recommended.

Went as a group of 12 to celebrate my daughter who has additional needs 18th Birthday. We had a room to ourselves which we were not expecting. The young lady who looked after us was lovely, friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Everyone commented on how nice the meals were as well as being good sized portions. In short we had a lovely evening and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Many thanks to all the staff with a special thanks to the young lady who waited on and helped make it a special evening.

Glad I met the proprietor as she told us she had a pub and well it was lovely, freshly made to order, dog friendly and was made very welcome when we arrived, will be back again in September on our next visit to Wales ☺️☺️

Went for a Sunday lunch, very very good prices, I had the roast beef, really good quality meats, everything was very nice, the mash was hard and a bit lumpy... Service was a bit slow and the pudding came out 10mins apart for some reason.

Visited today as I won a free £20 Sunday dinner voucher on a Facebook competition, the food was amazing, we had the minted lamb shanks, we will definitely be booking to go back, the staff were all very welcoming, great socially distanced lay out, relaxed environment, thoroughly enjoyed and can't wait to come back, thank you very much

What an experience. Had took my mother out for the day to North Wales for her Birthday. We had our dog Bonnie with us so looked for a Dog Friendly pub to have lunch. So happy we choose The Miners Arms. They where so welcoming and accommodating. They even dried Bonnies coat after us getting wet earlier in the day. We ordered food and what can i say it was amazing. Thank you The Miners Arms for a very enjoyable afternoon. We will definitely be back and really recommend a visit if you have a dog. Thank you.

Called this evening at 1936 hrs for a meal only to be told that the kitchen had decided to close early. We had travelled for 20 mins, not a long journey but,a wasted one. We won’t be returning.

My wife and I decided to eat here and we are so glad we did. Staff were very friendly. The log burning fire made it for us (very cosy). The food was absolutely cooked to perfection and was delicious. It was grill night and we both had a steak which was cooked as we requested. The presentation was fantastic also. Definitely be visiting here again soon.

We ate here today as a family of 5 after my parents had been months ago and were very impressed.Our table was booked for 2 and at first all seemed great as we were seated straight away and offered drinks.10 minutes later our food order was taken which were Sunday lunches as it is very limited menu on a Sunday.I opted for the pork loin that comes with crackling.At no point were we told there would be any wait on food and we did not think time would be an issue as was not overly busy.An hour and 10 minutes later our food arrived,I had asked after 50minutes how long much longer would we be waiting to be told it was just being plated up even though they appeared with plates with another table which had been seated and ordered after us?As for the food it was ok but there was definitely no crackling on my pork just fat and the Yorkshire puddings were so flat I wasn’t sure wether to eat them or use them as a frisbee.It seems such a shame as my parents said it was nothing like they had experienced last time but did mention it seemed to have more seating areas now so maybe they have taken on too much or need more chefs. Unfortunately we won’t be returning.

My title says it all! About 5 weeks ago me and my partner decided to go for the first time. We had not been before and thought it would be a nice treat for some pub grub!Well, we went in, got seated and ordered from the grill night! WOW! The food was fresh, cooked as requested and filling! The service was amazing and nothin was too much! The staff remember us and know what we like, we are treated as “part of the family” so to speak! We now go often (has been weekly since) and the service is always great, the food is always nice and we will continue to visit! Thank you to all at the Miners! Sean

Wow. This is the 3rd time we have dined here this month and we have been really impressed. The food is outstanding and it's clear the chef takes pride on what he puts on his plate. Service is always friendly and pleasant and we always leave with smiles on our faces and full bellies!5 Stars from us. We will definitely be back again as weve heard incredible things about the curries.

Just had dinner at the miners. It was grill night and I'm very fussy with steak but Charlie the chef cooked it to perfection. The chips were home made and beautifully seasoned. The onion rings were huge and delightful. Charlie the chef also made us peppercorn sauce which has to be the best I've tasted.All the staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning

We had booked a table for 4. No other diners. Just got one menu to share between 4, no wine list. Told some of the dishes were not available...So we promptly left and had a fabulous meal next door at the Red Lion..£121 to Red Lion!!!!

Although we only live down the road to this pub never been after reading reviews decided to give it a go my hubby and I daughter 3 grandaughters we decided to go for the 3 course . After waiting some time had to go and ask as children where getting hungry starter where awful chicken wings where tough like rubber. Then the mains 2 had roast ham could not eat as too salty then the Beef was like processed stewed beef again not eaten put in services took home for the dog deserts where nice so that was a bonus. The bill we where charged for drinks we had not had. We will not be eating at this pub again very disappointing ☹☹☹☹☹☹

Stopped off here for a meeting with other family members. But many items on the menu were not available, including all the vegan meals). We eventually managed to agree an order of which my wife and I both had steak. When the meals arrived (and I must admit we were getting a little dubious) The steaks and the chips (even the peas) were cooked to perfection and was the best meal of our holiday week.They just need to get their menu and stock levels correct.

I arrived here with my girlfriend and parents after a long day out at Llandudno with the dog. We were greeted very well by some exceptionally well mannered and inviting staff in a pub where the dog was also very welcomed. Unfortunately the only was down after this.

Had Sunday lunch with 4 adults and 2 teens at this village pub which turned out to be a lovely day for us all. On hols from Ireland and met up with family from Liverpool at this ideally situated pub on a beautiful sunny day in Meliden near Prestatyn. The service was really friendly from a lovely bunch of staff who catered for our every need and the food was excellent for all of us. Very reasonable prices and loads on the plate to satisfy the appetite so much so that there wasn't any room for desserts. (Just under £55 for 4 adult mains and 2 kids mains, drinks and coffees for all) Thanks chef. More family coming from Ireland during the week and will definitely be back. Thank you The Miners Arms

We hadn't booked but were fitted in for a table for 2.

Called in for lunch after getting rained off the beach arriving jut as they opened. 6 of us plus 3 dogs. Made to feel so welcome. Bowl of water brought for the dogs without even having to ask. My wife had the soup and it was amazing (she even asked for extra bread), I had the chicken curry which was as good as i have had in an indian restaurant. The chips are to die for. Everyone enjoyed their meas so much we went back the next night for dinner. Nothing too much trouble, the lady behind the bar changed my wife's drink as she thought that it looked flat (we had even noticed) which shows someone who takes pride in their pub.

We were staying in the area and wanted somewhere to go nearby for lunch with our spaniel and happened to find this place! The lady behind the bar and the locals in the pub were all lovely and friendly, made sure our spaniel had fresh water to drink! The food was freshly cooked and tasty, will def return when we are next in the area.

The pub has recently been freshly decorated and looks good both inside and out. The menu is a typical pub grub one, with a selection of meals and a section for grills. I decided to try the mixed grill. The meal arrived after around 20 minutes and was piping hot, the waiter asked if I needed anything and I asked for mayonaise and a steak knife, which promptly arrived. The meat was cooked well, fresh tomatoes, fresh mushrooms, home made onion rings, a fried egg, medium rump steak, a gammon steak, a chunk of chicken breast, a ring of (tasty) black pudding and a large meaty sausage, along with a wire basket of delicious home made chips. I commented to the waiter afterwards that the sausage was of a good quality and I had thouroughly enjoyed the meal.

Enjoyed a nice evening meal here on sat 25th May all staff very pleasant and attentive only oddity was we order a bottle of white wine and it was already open with a glass full missing - served by one of the guys .

We went at tea time and. decided on the special ( every tue/wed) 2 steaks with hand cut chips and all the trimmings and a bottle of very nice rose, we were served by Ben very polite and super efficient, the steaks ( we chose the rib eye) were fantastic as were all the extras great chips and fresh onion rings . I had ice cream to follow there was loads , all in all a great meal and a pub we will visit again . Thank you

Called in for 1st time tonight; very impressed husband had ribeye steak with chips; battered onion rings, mushrooms, peas, tomato & i had chicken with all the trimmings + bottle of house wine ( merlot ) all for £20........we will be back

Visited today for the first time with my elderly Mum who lives local. The landlady was friendly and welcoming and we were served by 2 lovely young men who looked after us and made sure we were happy with everything even though they were super busy........

Last minute decision to eat out and came to the miners. Swift, efficient service by friendly and professional bar staff. Steak night tonight, 2 steaks with chips, peas and onion rings with a bottle of decent wine for £20. Couldnt finish the wine and we were allowed to take it away to finish off! Will definitely return. we booked a table for 4 plus one dog on Easter Sunday at 5 pm. we arrived and the lad behind the bar shown us honour table after we had ordred our drinks.. 2 mins after sotto g down we we're told we couldn't sit in the restraunt as we had a dog.. we told them we had a dog with us when we called to book a table.. he said we could rat in the bar area.. no chance.. we two kids with us and it was packed, the football was on and wasn't the place to sit and eat.

Came off the coast road looking for a pub lunch and thought this place looked promising. It was. The lady behind the bar made us and our dog very welcome and our soup and sandwich (and chips) lunch were excellent. All freshly prepared and well presented. Thank you Miners Arms.

We went as a family of 7 including 2 children while staying in the nearby haven site. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. When the food came we weren't disappointed and it was all lovely fresh hot food that was well worth the money, I would highly recommend the place and hope to return soon.

What can I say, I visited this pub with two dogs, a disabled guest and a vegetarian. Everyone was accommodated for. Warm, kind and patient staff, good quality home cooked Sunday Lunch at a reasonable price.

Let’s try out this refurbished lovely old pub. Well what a nice surprise it was too. Chequered decor, very cosy, all clean and tidy. Clean toilets. Bar and pool table room to the right and restaurant to the left and downstairs more tables. Our meals were ‘small portion’ at £5.95 for hot tasty food what a good deal. Deserves 10/10 for perfect service especially the young guy for his attentiveness. Recommend a little blackboard for writing up your desserts (save you trying to remember them)

Nice pub .with friendly staff . Wednesday night was steak night for twenty pounds for two people you got steak chips .peas and onion rings big portions and nicely cooked with a Bootle of wine great price lots of others things on menu .and good choice of desert.had a great night will go again in future

Called here today for sunday lunch and it exceeded our expectations. We both had a lamb dinner - it was a good sized plateful of food with all the trimmings, 5 perfectly cooked veg, roasties and mash and plenty of gravy - delicious. We were both quite full but decided to have a dessert anyway and were glad we did, lovely. Our waitress was so friendly and welcoming, and it was genuine, and it wasn't overpriced. The toilets were lovely and clean, I couldn't fault the place - we will definitely be returning.

My family has just had a long weekend in Wales along with our two dogs. We found it hard to find somewhere dog friendly and vegan/ vegitarian friendly. After some internet searching I found the Miners arms who are dog friendly and rang to see if they did any vegan options. I was put on to the Chef who went through what sort of food we don't eat and he said he would go out to the shops and buy ingredients to make us a meal even though we wanted to eat that evening. Thanks to the brilliant Chef two vegans two vegitarians and one normal as my husband calls himself had a fantastic meal. THANKS to all the friendly helpful staff at the Miners Arms.

Attended on our final night of our break in the area. Shame we didn't find this place on the first night. Absolutely fantastic. Superb food quality, great happy staff who were welcoming and friendly. Definitely a meal to savour and worth a visit.

On holiday in Prestatyn and wanted a dog friendly pub . Met up with some friends who live locally. Really good service and couldn’t believe the huge portions that was served. Stayed chatting with staff and locals and left feeling we had made new friends . Will definitely pay a return visit before going home . Really good value for money . Hope

Family holiday in Talacre,searches for a family pub that allows dogs,wonderful on the phone,called up,sadly the pub was quiet and that was down to time of day,but the staff are extremely polite,friendly and helpful,nice drinks,very clean bar area to the right (where your allowed to take the dogs) even the locals seemed nice and played with the dogs. The friendly young man behind the bar even let the young girls play on the pool table (never seen that before!) and the food.........WOW!!!!!!

Having visited this pub several times over the last year, we were very disappointed on our last visit ( Apx july 18 ) to find out that the previous owners have now left.

We were welcomed here on Saturday night, it wasn't our intention to dine but to suss the place out. We found out that it had changed ownership and changed menu. Previously it was a fairly high end gastropub which we were told was slightly out of place for the area. The new owners told us that the menu will change to more homely and affordable food. We can't wait to re visit.

It was our first visit and was very surprised to see it empty at lunch time. The manager was very attentive and chatty. Loved the decor and the Carpet. Food was amazing!! Fish finger buttie was just excellent and the chips were to die for!!

Me and my partner happened to come across this place on our way back to our holiday park in a rush to find some food! (It was half 8 by this time).

A wonderful find - walking a stretch of Offa's Dyke we happened upon this pub in the valley below and had a great lunch. A very tasty Sunday roast, nicely done sirloin (just the perfect hint of pink), perfect Yorkshire pud and rich gravy. But the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream was the best I have ever had, the pudding clearly fresh out of the oven. Service was very attentive, with a smile. All round extremely pleasant experience.

Food is fit but the chef a lot fitter! Would definitely recommend his fine cooking and bottom! 100/100!

Recently refurbished. Went for sunday dinner with a group of friends. Food was good but the place still has the original rough feel. There are alway people standing at the entrance smoking, not the most inviting.

We visited the newly refurbished Miners Arms last night for the first time since the new management took over and what a delight it was. The calm, beautiful decor has been tastefully planned with plenty of space between tables. The menu, which changes every 3...

Comfortable modern surroundings. Food well presented and tasty,chef came to check and chat to us at our tableStaff very helpful,friendly and attentive. A throughly super evening.
