The Gladstone in Conwy

Went on Saturday evening, glad we booked a table as it was busy. The staff were efficient, attentive and really friendly. The drinks came a couple of minutes after ordering and the food similarly. We both had fish and chips and they were excellent. We would definitely recommend!!

We booked The Gladstone last minute as they accommodate dogs as we had decided to have a day out with the pooch in Conwy. We booked the basic room which was very clean, comfortable and had the usual amenities - tea / coffee making, hairdryer etc, which was great for a one night stay. The owners and staff were very friendly. We had our evening meal in the restaurant which was very nice and the service was very efficient. There was also entertainment on in the evening too which was great. The breakfast was lovely too, poached eggs cooked perfectly. Would definitely stay again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends. Thank you.

Enjoyed a lovely meal this evening, especially like the gluten free options (best to ask for these, not necessarily mentioned on the menu). The Gladstone makes a lot of effort to ensure their gluten free food is prepared separately, the staff have a good understanding of allergies and intolerances. Great atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff, beautiful sea views and a place where dogs are really welcome. Will be definitely eating there again soon! .

Over all friendly atmospher. Gavin was warm and welcoming, he was professional and had an approachable ease about him. All the staff were friendly. The food was very tasty. I enjoyed the sweet chilli chicken noodles. I would definitely come back again. 10/10 Gavin's logo collection was totally galactic.

Hidden Gem ! Randomly picked this place today , so glad we did.lovely view, log fire ,clean and cosy .home made grub was so tasty ( prices were so reasonable ) can’t wait to go back and sample more on the menu !!! We ordered the burger and a steak - it took a long time to come out (which we were warned it would) no problem. When it did come out it was dry and barely edible. Truthfully I hate to say I could have made better at home. Please don’t eat here - you’ll be disappointed

We went for a couple of drinks and asked about having food but with respect to the Gladstone, they had no room. We were then planning to go for a takeaway when Gavin very kindly offered a table for us and we had a lovely meal. We were made to feel very comfortable especially with our dog Seren. We have booked for Sunday lunch and looking forward to it. Thank you to Gavin, the bar staff and the chef for a lovely evening. 😄

Whilst visiting my daughter who has just moved into the area we needed a place to stay. Awesome customer care, nice homely rooms and really nice food. Will be returning no problems over the next few months. A nice find with beautiful views with good food and beer, what would there be not to like.

Visited on a Friday evening with Husband and two children. Food was reasonably priced, (fish and chips £10 on a Friday) lovely and all homemade, including the chicken nuggets. Jaffa cake Sundaes were lovely, although should come with a warning! They are huge and one is enough for at least two adults. Would've been nice to have a proper drinks menu with all the drinks they do. But overall great food and service, we will return.

We stayed one night was welcomed with a warm smile from Leonie. We was shown to our room by gavin who made us feel very welcome. Breakfast in the morning was fabulous cooked by Stephen. Would highly recommend very friendly hotel.

Firstly I want to thank the amazing staff for all the hard work they put in to making your time here the most enjoyable it can be. If your expecting a 5 star hotel with all the trimmings this is not the hotel for you. However if your looking for a great value for money get away with great staff stunning food and the most dog friendly establishment I've ever been in I can highly recommend the gladstone. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back when in the area. Keep doing what you are doing as it ticks all the right boxes.

We have recently bought a caravan nearby and firstly nipped in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon with my Mum and nephew and to be fair the food was good but the service from Gavin was excellent giving me some great local info. I then went back with my husband sister and bro in law for Sunday lunch. Whilst there was an issue with our lunch order Gavin dealt with it extremely well and gave us a discount off the bill which was much appreciated. The Sunday lunch was excellent a big portion lovely and warm and well presented. Again the service we had from Elliott was first class - a lovely young chap who greeted us with a smile - shame he is an MUFC fan!!!! Stumbled on this place when looking for somewhere to eat and was extremely pleasantly surprised. The menu is extensive - from tapas-style small dishes, to sandwiches and baguettes to big hearty burgers and classic meals. They don’t make a big thing of it, but EVERYTHING is homemade. My wife ordered fish and chips and they poured the beer in front of us for the batter. Even the tartare sauce, for example, is homemade. It’s really reasonably-priced, too. Us two adults and our two children ate a lovely lunch with drinks for under £40. It was so good that we travelled for 30 minutes the next day to come back again for lunch! Really impressed, and really glad we found it. We’ll be back!

We had booked a table for our family get together for 4 adults and 3 children. Great menu with so much choice and kids menu too. Our order for drinks was taken and then our meal orders. Our food was delicious, top class. All the staff are very friendly, accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. So glad we live close by and can visit regularly. Highly recommend.

Great stop on the Coastal Path from Conwy. Friendly staff and good food. Only disappointment was the 'S' missing at the moment from the pub sign. Gladstone was born close to here in Liverpool and I think it would respectful and good karma to bring the 'S' back. Gladstone is so much better than Glad tone :)

Walked in around 4pm today with my little girl, sat at a Table in the restaurant which was about 2/3 full. Sat there for about 10 minutes and no one came over, waiter walked past us about 4 times and didn't acknowledge. Tried to catch his attention but nothing. Then went to the bar and stood there and again no acknowledgement, no I'm busy be with you a minute, no welcome. No nothing. So we left. Doesn't take much to acknowledge people even if to say you're busy we would understand, otherwise its poor Customer Service.

My wife myself and my dog were in north wales on Holliday and popped in to the Gladstone for a drink and hopefully something to eat and asked on entering if it was Dog friendly. We hadn't booked a table but were fortunate to be greeted by the owner Gavin and he squeezed us in. And we were very glad he did, the food drink and service was impeccable and he made us feel very welcome. We both had the Burgers fries salad and cheese sauce. Followed by the sticky toffee pudding and cream. Absolutely delicious . Thankyou for the experience Gavin and gang we left feeling very happy and full 😊 what a lovely experience. Thankyou x

The best thing about my visit (for food with family and my dog) was the staff! So much so I asked behind the bar if the owner/manager was available to pass on my thanks but was told they were away. If you think about this for a second then in their absence the staff maintained a superb work ethic. Leonie and the other girls provided a superb welcome and also locked after my dog after a long walk. Well done ladies for a welcome stay. Food was good, however, what will make me return was the great team there!

Decent food, superb pub but what made me write my review was the attitude of the staff on duty. Superb. Looked after my dog too. Leonie and the others worked so hard to create a positive and warm welcome. Tried to speak to the Owner but they were away, so to them you should rest well knowing your business is in good hands in your absence.

Nice hotel and bar.The staff were very accommodating and friendly.The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal was good too.Really reasonable prices for food and drink, also brilliant for my little dog nothing was too much trouble.We have already rebooked for xmas.

Visited this lovely pub for the first time. Pre-booked. Parking ample. Convenient the views are spectacular from inside the premises of the coastline looking out to puffin Island. Pub is clean, and the tables are well spaced apart. We took out little dog, and your fur babies are very welcome here. Bar area is nice and welcoming. The restaurant is roomy and well decorated. The staff are polite and professional, and nothing is too much trouble. Myself & my wife had 3 courses and 2 drinks , all the food was great tasting with good portions. Well presented food which is important. Perfect for tourists and locals. Friendly atmosphere and a very relaxed ambience. We will be returning again in the same week to sample the Sunday lunch. Menu is varied with an extensive selection. Prices are below average for the area. For us, 4 soft drinks , starter , main, and dessert each with 2 side orders and all under £60. If you're a Blue light worker or NHS ,Carer, etc, they welcome a Blue light card for a discount. Honestly, move over Bryn Williams ( Michelin star) in Wales as this is exceptional good food and competitive prices. As the Gladstone isn't tucked away, it's not a hidden gem but a jewel in a crown. Been to the Gladstone many times but not really tried the food , decided to try the steak night . Wow very good indeed , the food was great the staff fantastic and welcoming. Eating with my wife we both had the rump steak cooked to perfection and accompanied with fries, mushrooms and tomatoes we added pepper sauces ,creamed cabbage and onion rings really nice . Steak night varies from 12.95 to 13.95 wether you have rump , sirloin or ribeye. Is there a better deal around Conwy I don’t thinks so 👍👍👍 . Go down and try yourself well worth it .

Great place for a beer and a chill. Staff are friendly and provide excellent customer service. The food is the one thing that lets it down and can be hit and miss. They have offers on most nights which are good however the quality isn’t the best. We were here for fish Friday and whilst a bit of a bargain for £10 it doesn’t compare to the chippy. Fish is frozen then cooked and they definitely need to change the oil for the chips we had. If we had been paying full price I would have complained plus I like the staff and the beer is good. Just spoils the visit but would still return but maybe just for drinks .

We were disappointed with our experience here. My pasta dish tasted of salt. There were a couple of comments from the staff that we didn’t appreciate. One of them finished their shift 2 minutes later so maybe that was the driver. Perhaps the young bar man doesn’t realise that different lagers have different tastes. Anyway, my other half’s sea bass was tasty. They’d had a busy day and several of the menu options were finished. Wouldn’t mark down for that but the pasta was poor and I didn’t enjoy it. Service not great. I wouldn’t return here.
