Previously impressed with this take away & decided to return whilst in the area. Had sent them a message about opening hours and the food which was not responded to. We were disappointed by the homity pie which was tasteless & the Thai pie was ok. The star of the show was the steak and Stilton pie. So the morale of the story is some things are excellent others are mediocre.

My daughter and I stopped in here after visiting friends in the village. The lady who appeared to be the boss was very snappy - spoke to one of her staff horribly. We bought a ginger cat pie for myself and a salmon and dill quiche for my daughter. I’m vegan so was very surprised to find that the crust on my pie tasted distinctly of beef suet in the crust. Worse still my daughter had been on a 14 hour shift the day before then gone home to bed without eating. Within two hours of eating her quiche she was being very poorly - this lasted 36 hours. We certainly won’t be visiting again

Stopped recently for a take away breakfast. Coffee was pretty good, pastries very good but the sausage rolls were the best I have ever tasted - truly amazing, both the plain and the chorizo. Sadly, I live about 200 miles away. Friendly service too! Well done, The Ginger Cat!

The Ginger Cat has a fantastic range of home baked sweet and savoury goodies, delicious freshly made sandwiches and rolls, a selection of cheeses, hams and olives as well as a range of store cupboard ingredients. The takeaway pizzas to cook at home are really good value for money and a quick and tasty meal. It’s the home baking where the Ginger Cat really stands out though. Huge, meaty sausage rolls, a variety of pie fillings to satisfy meat eaters and vegetarians, slices of mouth watering quiche, the most incredible Scotch eggs, as well as brownies, flapjacks and cake for aftershock. The vegan coconut and chocolate flapjack is particularly recommended.

The vegan satay pasty is the best ever! Thank you! Excellent service and making big changes during these crazy times to ensure customers still get delicious high quality local food. Good luck over the festive period!

Been here multiple times and always had good food and a warm reception. Everyone is always really helpful and friendly but a big thanks to Ronan for making us feel well looked after.

Decided to go for a Sunday breakfast, the place is nice inside and good atmosphere but the main breakfasts are very overpriced. I had the main breakfast and at the counter while ordering I asked if I could have an extra hash brown instead of tomato which she said was fine. The breakfast arrived with no hash browns but EXTRA tomato’s !! I went to tell them the mistake and another plate arrived with one hash brown and a slice of sourdough toast?. The sourdough toast was rock hard , the fried eggs were undercooked and the portion size was not worth the £15. Just disappointing to be honest.

The place wasn’t as clean as one would hope to find it, and the food on both visits was utterly awful: tasteless, overpriced, very clearly microwaved, haphazard, thoughtless etc etc. A bacon bap or sausage roll from Spar is significantly more tasty, filling and worthwhile.

Great little pub. Traditional pub games and a new jukebox. Clean and tidy and good selection of ales. Owners are from Torbay so good to see a more diverse community. Hopefully will get busier now there is a new development down the road. Free parking opposite with limited spaces. Even has a church on the other side of the road.

Such a shame that it no longer caters for the general public for lunch or a cream tea, we used to visit regularly many years ago, but it seems to only cater for weddings and corporate functions. Won't be back, we will go to two bridges hotel for cream teas.
