Ordered the 3 meals for £14.95 chicken wings chicken strips chicken nuggets The portions were very small 5 small chicken nuggets chicken wings think there was 4/5 embarrassing, then no sauces came had to pay for 3 selected sauces £2.45 so £17.95 all in not great Waitress behind bar was rude again and signal for the app was horrendous Will be carful what I order next

I be there for evening dinner. I don’t know if it was my accent being from Liverpool or before it was around 9 o’clock me serving food but she was well pissd off. They close at 11 I ordered before then. Maybe my accent but she wasn’t happy. If ur army don’t go here

Fast service cheap food and drinks. Very friendly bar staff. Loads of places to sit. Only stopped here for a quick bite to eat while in the town ,but it was still quite busy for a Sunday afternoon

We arrived as a group of 23 males as part of a mens health walking group.Three of the group had dogs,the dogs exhausted after a walk were asleep under tables and one on a lap.The owners were not sure if it was a total dog ban so ordered a round.I went to the bar to get drinks and a bar man said im not serving you i asked why not he said you have dogs.I said i dont have a dog im sat opposite the people with dogs he gave me a death stare and took my order.A male or female manager then said dont serve him hes part of the group with dogs.I replied i just told the bar man i dont have a dog with me.With an attitude of anger she or he replied well they will have to leave and the person stormed off.I said forget my drinks ill go elsewhere.I fully understand rules but had the person explained there were no dogs allowed at all and that he or she wouldnt be able to take further orders we would have respectfully understood,but ive never seen such staff with so bad an attitude,totally over the top and rude.

On the plus side: there are plenty of clearly marked vegan and vegetarian options, including a vegan chili (thus an option with protein that isn't a Beyond Burger). It's large, so although it was busy, it was still easy to find a table on a Friday evening (other places required advance booking). The tables are spread out enough that you don't feel like you are crammed in. Although the bar area was noisy, the conservatory room was much quieter (a plus for us). The food was fine - a little mixed. Of the 3 small plates I tried, the halloumi fries were great, roasted veg pizza good (nice flavor and well cooked, skimpy on the veg), and nachos not-so-great (toppings chucked on in clumps, chip quality not great). Overall, perfectly fine (nothing bad, nothing exceptional). It would be a great fit for a mid-large sized group without a reservation, and was a good fit for our vegan/vegetarian/omnivore group.

My partner and I visited Wetherspoon whilst passing through Brecon. A quiet Sunday afternoon around town to which we sat down at 13:00pm… Inside it was very busy but we managed to find a clean table near the front window. We ordered through the app, the drinks arrived within 5 minutes and food around 15 minutes which was perfect timing. The food was perfectly cooked and the pints were very decent. We thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely be back…

After a long hot day we called here for a snack on the way Home. The three meals for £15was great value. Two pizzas and southern chicken pieces with a blue cheese dip wear excellent and hot! Thanks!

Sadly probably what was once a pleasant stay has long since gone it's sell by date. Be aware that car parking is in a short stay public car park, sure it's free from 18:00 till 08:00 hrs but outside these hours it's £2.50 every 2 hours max stay and requires some clock watching if out and about. The décor in the bar/restaurant is looking very tired with midge insects occasionally landing in your beer, sure beers cheap with a good selection. We had cod and chips and this did not resemble the illustration on the menu, all batter(very overdone) and no cod. Now the room? the shower area was minging so I'll leave you to judge the photos

Lovely position, staff friendly and helpful, good choice of beers, called in on the off chance, enjoyed lunch and a beer, great quick service.

The American Cheese Burger was nice but I didn't like the chips. Someone unlocked the disabled toilet while I was in there, By George. I Brecon you're supposed to knock first!

The food’s descent and you can’t really complain for the price. Plus the prettiest girl ever works there, Leah I think her name is.

A good standard Wetherspoons pub with all of the basics you'd expect. Good standard of accommodation and friendly staff in what is a very busy pub and restaurant.

Only popped in for a few pints. Very dark in there, give up on the foods years ago as it’s always cold and unappetising. Ok stop off before going to the excellent Gurka Corner. Next time I come I’ll bring a torch!

The George is a delightful hotel and pub in the centre of Brecon. The food is excellent, well cooked and well presented. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and all have the most amazing rainfall showers. But good as the facilities are, it’s the staff team that make this venue my go to place in Brecon! These hard working people make a good venue into an outstanding experience! Once you have been there a few times, expect to be greeted by name. The staff team here are outstanding!

We were at Brecon Beacons and popped in for a swift pint, the place has a lovely homely feel, old school pub, cheap pint and honest reasonably priced food.

Not been in there for years but never again ordered drinks ordered wine and vodka for my stepdaughter who is 19 but does not look it miserable girl plonked the drinks on the table never said anything looked at my stepdaughter and walked off a minute later she returned again with another miserable lady looked at us walked away again then man turned up asked her for some Id showed it him then asked him why did they not ask for id first? and why did it take 3 to ask? but all we got was a grunt and walked off ; never known such miserable staff and rude in my life up set the whole day they should be sacked we don't pay good money to be rude to or insulted get yer staff sorted out or if you can't be at least pleasant to customers don't work there.

My wife and I nipped in for a quick breakfast as we were passing through, and I am so glad we did. I had the best Eggs Benedick I have every had at a Wetherspoons Bar, the eggs were perfectly cooked! My wife loved her sausage buttie too. Both staff members we dealt with were really friendly people as well!

Booked for 1 night due to meeting up with family for birthday meal. Great location. Room large, shower excellent, nice touch with bottled water, ample coffee, milk, sugar and extra's. Weatherspoons cheap for meals, drinks etc. Staff friendly and polite and dont need to check out until 11am which is great if been out later the previous night. Only thing that lets it down is no car park attached to hotel. Having said that there is ample car parks surrounding the town however not free. Recommend and stayed many times before,both in the main hotel area, and above weatherspoons.

Stayed here overnight . Initially , could not find check in area for hotel. When asked staff member , discovered it at bar at back of room. Signage was small ( A4 sized) and hidden behind rather large notice informing that 'This area is used to prepare drinks........'' and a queue of people waiting to be served at the bar. Perhaps an overhead sign would be useful? Room was spacious and well equiped. Carpet was worn and walls scraped - but since we were sleeping there it didn't bother us. Ironing board and iron in room , which was useful as we were attending a function in the town. The tea/ coffee tray was well supplied - and the inclusion of hot chocolate sachets and bottled water was appreciated. Water pressure in shower was ok, but not great. ' Caution, Hot water ' notices need to be heeded as very little adjustment required before water was scalding ! Bed was very comfortable and room quiet. Breakfast is an additional payment but reasonable and tasty.

Beautiful building and very clean. Neat and tidy outside with plenty of space. The staff seem friendly and the breakfast was excellent. They seem to care about the food and customers and that shows rather than just throwing small portions on a plate and send it out, which unfortunately seems more and more common but thankfully not here. My egg whites weren’t fully set which isn’t to my liking but other than that… brilliant

Horrible customer service and rude bar staff. I wouldn’t bother. The lady behind the bar was incredibly rude to my boyfriend and his mum. I wouldn’t go back if you paid me.

Haven't been to The George for about 2 years. Definitely gone downhill. The place looked really run down carpets needed a good clean, our table was sticky and chairs stained. Food was average, I ordered a med rare steak came incinerated. Staff did their best but seemed stressed.

After all day walking the hills we decided to make our way to this weatherspoons for drinks and food. We decided to order the first round at the bar before looking at menu, we where gasping. We ordered 8 drinks, 4 soft to quench the thirst and 4 alcoholic for the 4 of us. Upon pulling one of the IPA,s the barrel ran out. My mate was told it would be 20 mins and would he like an alternative. He chose one but was told he couldn't have that because the price had to be the same as the IPA. WTF, we hadn't even paid yet. My mate was adamant he wanted to drink his choice, 2 of our party walked away from the bar because they couldn't believe the attitude of the barman. Eventually he said he had no stock of that drink, we thought he was lying. My mate then chose another to be told it was off as the pipes were being cleaned. Finally my mate got his 4th choice drink. This appalling service, by an obnoxious man put us off and we eventually dined in the Clarence round the corner. 👌 Overall The George probably lost out on a couple of hundred quids worth and we will certainly never use the place again. Tim your customer service skills are shocking.

The most miserable time in any licenced premises I have ever experienced in My 70 years on this planet. Food dreadful .With the exception of one member of staff they ALL had long faces. One actually walked away while I was in front of Her waiting to be served , the beer is ok but staff attitude is not. Tables crying out to be cleared/cleaned. Staff obviously trained in avoiding eye contact.

Had visited Brecon many times in the past but never been into their Wetherspoons (rare for us!). Right in the centre of town and it's a big one, and lovely too. Called in for morning coffee before a wander along the river. Always order on the app (easier than standing at the bar!), always quick service. Toilets upstairs (now there's a shock) and beautiful/very clean. Came back in for lunch and a pint sat in the glorious Welsh sunshine. Lots of outside seating and plenty inside separated into areas.

This Wetherspoons is one of the best. Fast service, excellent food and well kept beers. But it is the staff who always make it for me. Helpful, quick service and they are always so very cheerful and helpful. The last time I visited, I han’t stayed there for a few months, but was greeted by name, advised on food and drink options, and served swiftly by staff who went overboard to make my stay outstanding. Every Wetherspoons I visit is good. The George is outstanding. A must if you are visiting Brecon. Tim
