We called in for lunch. The food was excellent, home made mushroom soup, jacket potatoes, croissants and quiches and white chocolate cheesecake - all delicious and the service was brilliant, so friendly and welcoming. Also lots of trinkets and cards to buy. Wheelchair access too which was really useful for us. We would thoroughly recommend this cafe/restaurant.

I took my partner along for a hot drink and possibly a cake but we were tempted by the vegetable and chilli home made soup .It was served hot with a warm crusty roll and butter .We really enjoyed the the light lunch . .Finished off with a pot of tea , a coffee and two lemon cupcakes .The tea room is quaint ,quirky and always busy .Booking I’d advise able for busier times.Friendly pleasant staff .Definitely will return soon .If you’re in the area pop in ,you’ll enjoy it !

We had a fabulous take away meal from here the other week whilst house sitting for friends in Dumfries. The meal was delivered hot and in the time they suggested it would be. Their chilli beef was hot and savoury, and there was so much food we had enough leftover for a 2nd meal.

This is where Google's rating system falls down. 4 stars= like, 5 stars = love. I more than liked it, not quite loved it, so 4½ stars for "enjoyed"? Anyway, service was excellent. Everyone very friendly and helpful. It was busy too which is always a good sign. I had the chicken liver paté which was smooth and delicious served with a little too much onion chutney and a combination of oat cakes and soft fresh bread, which was a little unusual but good. Main course was a bold combination of scallops, haggis, creamy smoked haddock and pressed new potatoes. It was delicious but the haggis was very strong and peppery so if you weren't careful the delicate flavour of the beautifully prepared scallops could have been lost. I also suspect they could save a small fortune by using at least half the pea shoots for garnish than they do. That all sounds very critical but I honestly enjoyed it very much. Even the house red was very nice, rich and smooth. Thank you

This cafe served the worst scone I have ever had / didn't have. (and that's saying something as I'm in my 70s and have had a few in my time. You could build a house with a few of them. Inedible expensive rubbish. It came in a paper bag, no plate and a wooden disposable knife which struggled to cut it. The coffee was served in a paper cup. But was drinkable. Cost over £13 for two coffees and two inedible scones. I am disgusted and will definitely won't be back
