Worst. Bartender. Ever. The bar man got really mad that my friend accidentally hit his glass on the barstand a couple of times instead of using a coaster, and in a very rude manner told my friend he'll be "going home" if he does it again. As we left I told him f u for such attitude, and he ran outside to the street to challenge me for that and got very cocky. Edit: The manager has reached out and resolved the situation, which we were very grateful for.

Came for a few pints with friends to watch the rugby and football. Managed to get a table which wasn’t easy on a Saturday as the place is usually packed. Guinness was good and there was a large selection of ales and beers, so if that is your thing you will be very happy. My visit was spoiled slightly by one of the staff members (no name badges but young guy with beard and glasses) who was very rude to me when taking a drinks order (a few other customers commented on his behaviour so maybe he was having a bad day). But apart from that this is a good pub for a few pints. I didn’t have anything to eat but have done before and the food was good.

Friendly, attentive service, and a good English (rather than Irish) pub-style atmosphere. There was football playing in the bar when we went. We had drinks and dinner. We booked a table for three people for an afternoon meal. We arrived as planned at two thirty on Saturday the 30th and the very pleasant bar staff took our food and drinks order. The beverages arrived promptly but it took one hour and fifteen minutes for the food to follow. Two of us ordered the chicken pie but found the dish ruined by salt. The delay in the food arriving, we had to ask staff to go and look for it, resulted in the next customers rushing us to vacate the table. A very unsatisfactory experience given the reputation was so good. Once again, the bar staff and waitress were pleasant throughout.

A hard pub to rate... It is well maintained, the staff seemed nice and it was popular for a Wednesday night. I give 3* because it just felt samey, like any another bar you might walk into in the UK: football playing loudly on the screens, loud mix of people and average decorations. 5* for being what it is... It's not claiming to be a charming Irish pub, nor a trendy bar, not a student bar. Hence the average of 4* We were doing a little pub tour of Belfast (as visitors) so I'd not recommend it if you're looking for a real Irish feel but definitely recommended if you're looking for a decent pint, football, lovely atmosphere.

This bar has a major problem with it's disability access. Their disabled toilet is broken and they do not have the part required to fix the macerator. Instead of installing a new facility to ensure that disabled people can use the premises, they simply pretend the toilet is out of order. They do not warn disabled customers of this issue prior to entering the pub nor when ordering food or drinks. I went there last month for food and drinks and the toilet was broken and frankly a complete health hazard. A staff member used bucket after bucket of bleach to allow me to us basic toilet facilities. I thanked them but it was a terrible and excruciatingly embarassing situation. They promised to explain this to the bar manager and owner to get it fixed once and for all and said how embarrassing and awful it was for them to have to do to disabled people. I went to the bar this week (my office use if for after work drinks) and after a few drinks asked to use the disabled toilet to be told NO - it is out of order. A different bar person this time - he said it hadn't worked in months and was really embarrassed as it meant I was treated differently due to disability. He was not as embarrassed as I was and I and my entire party had to leave. Sadly for the Garrick owners, who prefer to pretend this is a one off, the staff are embarrassed by having to do this to disabled people who's money they have taken for drinks and meals and who they do not wish to treat unfairly. The staff do not lie and pretend the toilet has been fixed. There is no disability accessible facilities. You cannot even wash your hands as the disabled toilet is a complete health hazard with excrement everywhere.

This pub does NOT have any facilities to allow a disabled person to go to the toilet. This information should be shown clearly on the entrance door and at the bar - prior to them taking your money or serving you drinks and food. Their disability accessible toilet is broken and they have not fixed it, month after month after month. They happily take your money as a disabled person but will not provide facilities for you to go to the toilet. They would not be able to do this to able bodied people. They would be closed down by Belfast City Council. The last time I was in this bar ( a month ago) the toilet was like the loo from Train Spotting. Then the lovely staff member said the toilet was always broken and management had no interest in getting it fixed. She put bleach down the loo to at least make it usable but it was grotesque. At least she tried and she said she would speak to management to get it fixed. Sadly I believed her. This bar has zero interest in improving facilities to disabled customers. If they did their facilities would be usable. No other bar in town faces these problems. I note this is the first message in forever on this review page that the bar has replied to. The bar man tonight said during the entire time he had been back - months and weeks - the disabled toilet had NOT been fixed. This is appalling behaviour - this is far from a disability friendly pub. If this were an important issue for the Garrick it would have been fixed. This bar is not a disability friendly venue. This bar is not wheelchair accessible.
