Having previously been to restaurant and had lovely meal there we decided to try newly refurbished cafe at the front. What a mistake, poor selection of premaid sw/ paninis(it doesn’t take long to prepare them fresh). However we persevered, staff looked miserable Toasties were toasted and we sat down. My mozzarella/pesto / sun dried tomato was soggy and tasteless, the coleslaw( which had to be paid for over and above the sandwich along with the”salad”) was inedible due to the majority of it being just mayo. The final straw was the plastic i found in it. The management were right over , offered substitutes etc and I got a refund , I mean these things happen , the food was minging to begin with, the staff were depressing me and all for a premium price, no thanks we won’t be back , I’ll stick to restaurant next time if at all

If visiting the cafe at the front of the building do not order a mocha. It was awful and I had to change it for another drink. I had forgotten that I’d had one there ages ago that was awful too and had to go back. It had virtually no froth on top and was just a cup of dark brown liquid. Not the usual tempting mocha at all. I suspect it was made by hand without the use of a mocha machine perhaps? I usually use the restaurant /cafe in another part of the store and mochas are normal there.

Went in to browse at jelly cats and their vegan food then went around the rest of the shop only to find a candle/soap/scented oil section and as I usually do I smelled the testers with my twin sister. We usually tell each other to smell really bad ones and it’s fun but a lady working there thought we were stealing and proceeded to follow us around the shop for half an hour although we said many times we didn’t want their old people smelly oils and then walked around with our pockets turned inside out. Not to mention we have previously been in a car collision in the car park of this garden centre and were offered no help from the staff there. Anyways we got polenta and paid for it the only things in my pockets were my inhaler epipen and phone not any stolen goods that stink like incontinence.

My family and I were fishing on the Dee and I contacted Raemoir to ask if they could provide a take away picnic lunch and some bakes for afternoon tea for our party which they said yes, they could do. It was top notch! Absolutely delicious quiche, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, salad and a myriad of other goodies. I have lunched several times at Raemoir and am never disappointed at the quality of the cuisine and great value and this was the same. Well done to their management, chefs and catering staff, bravo!

Very nice glass sided restaurant within the garden centre. You have to wait at the door until staff fetch you. This area is subject to rain and you can get wet in the queue.Very pleasant cheerful staff and a lot of them. We wanted coffee and a light lunch,it was 11.30am,so ordered the prawn cocktail. One of theses had to be GF and was produced. Also Earl Grey tea and rhubarb lemonade. It was really nice and tasty. The restaurant filled up very fast so would suggest booking a table. It is waitress service including the bill.

I went to the cafe for some coffees and cake with my husband, when one young member of staff came up to us and cleared our table we asked what it was like to work in the cafe, they replied “terrible, it’s the worst job I’ve ever had” and I was shocked but then I learnt why the staff were so miserable understaffed and under paid, apparently some of them only get £3.50 an hour!!! That’s shocking especially for how busy the cafe was absolutely appalling!!!

We visited today the restaurant at Raemoir Garden centre today with our daughter who is here on holiday. We have been going to this place since it was a hut and our children were young. We arrived at 10.45am for coffee. It was busy but not every table was taken. The waitress who met us suggested we sit at a table she was about to clear, and we said that was fine but there were others free. However she said most were reserved because they were having a coach party in for afternoon tea. It was pretty obvious where the tables were set for that and they were apart from the others which were free. I said that we were only in for coffee and the waitress then pointed us to a table which was reserved for 12.30pm, no doubt for lunch. Another waitress whom we know, and who is very efficient came for our order. Our scones came quickly but we had around 10 - 15 minutes to wait for our coffee because there was only a young girl trying to cope with the many orders in turn. We observed however that a couple who had arrived after us had been served their drinks, while we still waited. At 11 am suddenly a number of waitresses appeared and began to help. The coffee and food were excellent as usual but we came away thinking we had been an inconvenience to the waitress and that coach parties coming for afternoon teas were more important. Yes they bring in revenue, but then so do all the local regular customers when the summer is over and the coaches have all gone. I hope that next time we visit we can expect better service. Otherwise we shall just take our coffee elsewhere.

As far as garden centres go, this is quite a good one. My only downside is that like all these centres they are stuffed with over 50% of STUFF WE DON’T REALLY NEED! Lots of mass produced kitschy stuff. They do it better than most though so in fairness I grade them as a four. I’d like to see reasonably priced local artisan section in here too with unique elements. The Restaurant and Cafe seem better than your average also, so well done!

Arriving at cafe we collected tray, at the till on ordering two teas, we were directed to the tea pots and hugely over the top range of tea bags. After filling our own tea pot from the hot tap that dispenses with short bursts (not ideal when filling a pot of tea for two) we collected our cups and saucers, then milk from under the cooler. Hugely disappointed with the service, can’t see the point of going to a cafe to make my own beverages. Should have saved myself £4.20 and made them at home. Cafe was very hot, although it was very hot day, think more should have been done to cool the area as it’s still early in the year and the weather is expected to get nicer. Kids area seemed pleasant enough, except creepy horror film clown hanging above it. Daughter loved her ice cream that she purchased in main area of the garden centre.

After eating here many times over the last couple of years and enjoying the food and buzz of the restaurant i was shocked at the service provided today and simply walked out, my partner and I where shown to a seat out in the greenhouse part of the restaurant (26c outside) weren't asked if we would like to order drinks in the sweltering heat that met us in the greenhouse and simply left with the menu to gaze at for 25 minutes, I tried to get the attention of a few waiters and the odd waitress that where hanging about serving people who came in after us but to no avail..We got up and left the place very disappointed. I did tell a sale person on the way out whom asked if i wanted to see the manager but by this time i was so hot and sticky i just couldn't be bothered. Put simply i won't be back.

However as there was just mum and gran visiting today we decided to try the garden room where there's table service. After a short wait we were seated and soon enjoying a well cooked tasty lunch. We visited with our daughter for a morning treat. The scones, as always were delicious. Rather than coffee or tea which my husband and daughter had I tried the Hot Chocolate, and that will be my 'new favourite'. It was very, very scrummy and great value.

I had the vegetarian quiche salad again. Freshly made quiche which was very tasty. It comes with a lovely salad dressed in raspberry dressing. £10.99 may sound expensive but it is definitely worth it. Comes with chips or boiled potatoes.

I use garden centers for business meetings - this one works quite well suitable for a relatively private business chat. The food is good and the menu has a range of options. However, when I go out for a coffee, I like it to me made by the staff - NOT a vending machine suited to an office environment.

We decided to pop in here for SundayLunch. There are two locations at the location, one is a self service type of cafe and the other is a “waited” service.

Recent visit. Spiced Bread and Butter Pudding on the menu - sounds delicious but in fact it was Panetonne that had been used and I hated it. I did complain to the ?chef/manager but only received an argument that the board had said 'Spiced Bread and Butter Pudding'. Well I guess I missed something because that does not spell out to me that it was using anything other than BREAD and not PANETONNE. Suggest they clarify their menu. I did not even get an apology and paid £5.99 for something I couldnt eat. Dont think I would bother going again..

Stopped at Banchory for afternoon tea. The food was fresh and well prepared, and the serving staff were helpful. It’s also a good place for plants and decorative knickknacks.

We needed somewhere to entertain our 2 young grandsons and the cafe at Raemoir was recommended. It has a play area which they liked. Food was fine, just what would be expected. The odd shopping trip helped to keep the boys amused. Overall a success.

I take my elderly mum here now and again for a day out. Mum is in a wheelchair now and the staff are always SO helpful and kind, especially the ladies who have been there for years. We always have the poached egg with black pudding...I wish I knew how the chef cooks the egg...it is always perfect and tastes absolutely wonderful.

Met a friend for lunch in the restaurant - we go there as we tend to find that young families eat in the café out front. Although the tables and chairs haven't changed in years, it is always solidly dependable good food at affordable prices. This visit didn't disappoint! Our meals came swiftly - piping hot, looking lovely and tasting delicious. Okay - it's not the Ritz - but it's not the Ritz's prices either. Very well worth a visit and a regularly high level of food and service. Recommend.

Great place to take kids for quick tasty lunch. The seating area could do with some upgrading as could the toys, but it's by far the most kid friendly place in Banchory.

Was visiting my mum in Banchory and took her for a treat to the Garden Restaurant for afternoon tea. It was the second time I had been there, the last time about 8 months ago. The reason we returned was because we had been impressed with our first visit. You get choice of tea or coffee and various sandwiches. Then there are pancakes, scones, cakes and meringues and if you cannot eat it all, they gave you a "doggy bag" to take the rest home. Excellent. The afternoon tea is £10 per person but I thought it was very good value. The only issue I might have if I wanted to be fussy was that the cream did taste a little synthetic, fresh cream would have been nicer. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful. My mum wanted to have tomato with her cheese sandwich and they were happy to oblige. Would definitely recommend. After you have your afternoon tea have a stroll around the garden centre, some really lovely things there to look at. Enjoy!

Raemoir is without doubt one of the premium destination garden centres in the U.K. and I always enjoy a look round. In addition we always enjoy the garden restaurant as it has a lovely feel about it as you can sit and look out as people browse the various plants etc.

I visit Banchory on business around 4 times per year and like to take my customer to the Raemoir for lunch. It is a nice place with plenty of natural light, and service is quick, friendly and professional.

Having enjoyed meals in the restaurant several times, I decided to have a quick bite to eat in the cafe, thinking it would be of a similar standard.

Restaurant was full, so we took a table for 6 just outside the restaurant but still under cover. It was nice as it wasn't so loud or hot. Chicken broth was lovely, we all had a mixture of the Sunday roasts. Beef was excellent, yorkies were massive, veg lovely. Roast chicken was equally as good. 3 of us took the sherry trifle for pudding. You don't often see traditional pudding like this nowadays. But it was a very difficult choice as all the puddings looked lovely.

Fantastic place. Plenty parking, great choice of yummy ice cream. The pizzas looked amazing, will definitely go back to try one. Outside pods really handy if weather is bad and beautiful flowers everywhere

We found this cafe in Sept 2023 while on holiday in the area for 2 weeks. We ate here alot, so again this year for our 2024 holiday we have visited numerous times. We always sit outside in the corner with our dog. To start it is close to beach, car park and access to bus stops if you were on public transport. The views are amazing hench we love coming even on a windy day. We always have the toasties, wraps and soup with a sweet treat to follow. The food is well good. Great prices Clean and tidy, friendly staff x We notice as well its always busy so we obviously arent the only ones who like it. Thanks to the staff for the amazing service xx
