The Garden Restaurant at Bromley Court Hotel in Lewisham

Standards have dropped, used to do a great Sunday lunch. We got 2 roast potatoes each as apparently they were running low, got extra on request. Also had to ask for extra veg as portions were tiny. Won't be returning.

Another lovely afternoon tea here in a superb setting looking out on the garden. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were delicious as usual and Andreas the Head Waiter and Remy the Manager couldn’t do enough for us and constantly replenishing our tea throughout the afternoon. I’d recommend a wander round the garden too if the weather allows.

Have just enjoyed a really special cream tea experience with friends at The Bromley Court Hotel. The Garden Room setting was a delight -- the staff, Andreas and Frena, were kind and attentive. The actual cream tea was delicious and generous and the scones were light and warm!! Will definitely return to this gentle destination

Took my mum for a cream tea, mid week in early July. Very enjoyable experience. Prompt and efficient service, and the sandwiches, scones, and other cakes were immaculately presented. And it is a lovely setting, too. Would we go again? I am just about to book another cream tea, in a fortnight!

Had lunch with my family visiting. Food was really good and great service from Andreas. Would recommend for a garden escape and Bromley.

Went here for afternoon tea and was very disappointed. The sandwiches weren’t very nice and not as described on the menu, for example there was no cress in the egg and cress sandwich and no horseradish sauce in the beef sandwich. We also asked for salmon instead of the sausage rolls and instead just got extra egg sandwiches and an extra cucumber sandwich. Service was very slow, we waited half an hour for the food to arrive (which we had to ask for) however they did apologise and offer a drink for the wait. We also had a long wait for the bill despite asking for it. On the plus side, the scones were very nice and warm and the terrace was nice. Overall we were all very disappointed at the experience, especially for the price. The lunch options looked nice so if I’d return I’d probably just go for lunch instead.

We had booked to be seated in the conservatory, however on arrival we were told that we had been moved to a different dining room. This room smelled very strongly of fish, it was laid with filthy carpet, and it was devoid of atmosphere. As this room was a little out of the way, we scarcely saw the waiters. This made it difficult to get water, and no one check to ensure the food was okay. Drinks arrived promptly, but then service was very slow for food - we waited around 45 minutes for starters. I had the mixed olives - this ended up being a small plate of only green olives. No oil, herbs or garlic. Just a few dry green olives for £5. 20 minutes later the mains arrived. The food was great across the board - we had a mixture of burgers, fish and chips, pies and wellington. I had the wellington, which was lovely, but the portion was so small, that I was left feeling hungry. So hungry, in fact, that I got a McDonalds on the way home. All in all, the food here is good, and priced around the same as a standard pub. However, the atmosphere, service, and portions were sorely disappointing - I highly recommend you visit one of the local pubs instead.

The location is beautiful and we were so lucky to have a marvellous day and enjoy the coffee in the lovely garden after lunch. Gerry is an excellent chef and definitely knows how to treat his vegetables! But the real highlight is Andreas: so caring, kind and professional at the same time! Makes clients feel special and “cuddled”. Absolutely recommended!

Treated a friend to lunch at The Garden Restaurant. We were made so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. All staff very helpful, warm and friendly. Despite being virtually empty (well it is the beginning of January!) there was still a nice warm atmosphere with a lovely table overlooking the gardens. We really enjoyed our meal of Roast Turkey and Sticky Toffee Pudding accompanied by a bottle of very resonably priced Zero Prosecco. They even brought a special birthday surprise at the end for my friend which was very kind. She was very touched. Well done BCH!

We had a lovely festive afternoon tea. One of our members of the party is Gluten Free and there was very good options available for her and they made her feel very welcome! Andreas is always so helpful and nothing is too much hassle. We would like Joshua his manager to see this, as Andreas always makes our occasions even more better! We are very grateful to him.

Visited 3 times in the last year and each time we’ve been served by the wonderful Andreas. He recognised us and gave us a warm and friendly welcome. My husband was feeling a little under the weather and very cold, Andreas went above and beyond to help make him feel better/more comfortable. The food was great as always and the chef kindly accommodated my dietary requirement even though it wasn’t pre booked which I greatly appreciated. It would of been nice for the restaurant Christmas lights to be on and some background Christmas music as we were there for a festive get together but it didn’t take away from the lovely evening. The Christmas decorations around the rest of the hotel and the restaurant entry were all beautiful. Would definitely recommend. Thank you again Andreas!

I come here often but came today with my family for a Christmas lunch. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the staff were very welcoming. It was a 3 course set menu with a good variety of choices and coffee or tea. The food was delicious and nicely presented, all hot and generous portions. We were mainly looked after by Andreas who is lovely. Nothing is too much trouble and he is always warm and attentive. He paid particular attention to my disabled mother and she loved being made to feel special . The customer service was outstanding as usual. Highly recommend.

We went to this restaurant at the beginning of the year and was very disappointed in the food. However we went today for lunch and the difference was amazing. The food and service as well as the ambiance was brilliant. Our waiter Andreas was superb, and he was very attentive. Overall an excellent lunch, will definitely recommend and return again.

Beautiful restaurant and very nice food. We had the Christmas festive set meal. So much food, I couldn't eat it all. The staff are friendly and attentive. Elena was our host and she took very good care of us and even helped us with our coats. Thank you for an enjoyable experience.

We have frequented The Garden Restaurant over many years, and service was always their weak point. Now, though, our latest visit has seen a marked improvement in their service. Especially under the head waiter, the most excellent Andreas. Honorable mentions also to both Lauryn and Lillie, both most pleasent, attentive and helpful. All in all, outstanding service to compliment the always more than capable kitchen. One niggle only worth mentioning: the new till system produces the most opaque and befuddling bills/receipts. The staff are most helpful in helping decipher these, though.

The service I received in the 4 dinners I had Is outstanding. Andreas made me feel absolutely comfortable. I enjoyed the experience and everynight I felt to be a special guest. He remembers everything and makes you feel at home. I suggest this restaurant to Whoever Is looking for High level of service.

The Garden Restaurant at The Bromley Court Hotel is definitely worth a visit. The food was delicious and service by all staff was exceptional, in particular Andreas, who was attentive, considerate and provided service with a smile! We will definitely be returning.

Myself and a few friends went to the Bromley Court Hotel to Watch the Cher Tribute Act and have a meal which was included in the price of the ticket, we all had an absolutely brilliant time dancing the night away to Cher and then the hotel DJ. Could not fault the evening, the Garden Room was fantastic and laid out beautifully for the evening.

The restaurant was clean quiet and relaxing. We received first class service from the restaurant staff, in particularly from a waiter whose name is Andreas (our lead waiter) who added that extra personal and professional touch! Many thanks to you Andreas for making our time extra special.

We have dined here before several times over the years for week day and Sunday lunch and also for afternoon tea, it is a family favourite. Three of us visited for my daughters Birthday Lunch when C-19 restriction meant outside dining was the only option. The set up under a marquee with LOVELY view of the garden was delightful, we were lucky with the weather, it was nice and sunny, but had it been chilly the patio heaters would have been useful - I would book here for evening outdoor dining too. Although the menu was more cut down than usual there were still some really nice options. Two of of us had ribs - which went down a treat and I had the Vegan Cauliflower Curry - I am not vegan but just wanted to try it as it sounded so nice and it was indeed delicious although the mint raita was a little runny and not to my taste probably because they couldn't use yoghurt but it didn't spoil my meal at all - nothing ventured nothing gained eh! Oh the nann bread was really soft and fluffy tho, like a little cloud! :-)For dessert we had cheesecake and the Chef's temptation - a light chocolate affair that was to die for.. I'll try and dig out photo to upload.The waiting staff were fantastic, super friendly and well organised and although at times there seemed only to be one waitress for all the diners everything appeared to run like clockwork. Well done Garden Restaurant, we will be back again as soon as we can find another excuse to celebrate!

Tuvimos un té de la tarde muy agradable en el Bromley Court Hotel. El personal fue muy agradable y simpático. Le dieron a mi sobrina algunos crayones y papel para que se divirtiera. Ni siquiera le cobraron por el té de la tarde, lo cual fue inesperado. Muy buenos bocadillos y tartas y un entorno muy agradable. El personal tiene que usar visores que no pueden ser cómodos para ellos, pero que forman parte de nuestro extraño mundo nuevo.

Hoy disfruté de un delicioso almuerzo de 3 platos en los hermosos jardines del hotel. El clima, la comida, el servicio y las vistas no podrían haber sido mejores. Los tranquilos jardines bien presentados fueron un lugar encantador para disfrutar de nuestro almuerzo y también aprovechamos la fabulosa promoción de descuentos que ofrece el hotel. Lunch time menu very good value and delicious food, all served by welcoming, friendly staff. A beautiful setting. My first, but not last visit. I wish I had visited sooner and will be back to try the dinner menu

To be fair, I think service-wise they were having an off-night (hopefully!) but I still wouldn't ever go again.I was brought the wrong food; my bill was wrong three times and I ended up overpaying just to end the awkwardness; one member of staff was snippy and didn't have the mask covering their nose; about four other groups started queuing to pay at the same time (presumably bills not coming to tables is a precaution?) but they all queued around my table and the wait for them was 30+ minutes because every single bill was wrong, charged for things they didn't have or never arrived. I think the staff should have asked them to sit back down or something because even outside of a pandemic, you don't want to be surrounded like that. It was really inconsiderate. Given how shambollic it was, I am surprised there weren't more apologies even from the chirpier members of staff. One man complained that their puddings never arrived and she said "oh right". Another woman said their puddings hadn't arrived and they didn't want them anymore, "ok, do you want me to take it off the bill?". One group having a particular debacle with the bill ended up paying for things they didn't have and we're unable to split it. As I say, this was all happening about a foot from my face hence the detail.The food was pretty poor, tasteless, swimming in oil and the wine was expensively awful - I only ordered it because the snippy waitress pulled a face when I asked for tap water (but I accept that bit is my fault for being intimidated). I think they have ideas above themselves as the website describes it as "fine dining" and goes on about the chef cooking for royalty etc. However, I suppose I can only speak for the two courses I had and maybe the rest of the menu wasn't sub-Wetherspoons for £35.So, in summary, check your bill.

Beautiful dining room. Reasonably friendly staff. Tepid breakfast. We were down to breakfast quite early. £13.50 EACH! Food pretty cold - cold baked beans are pretty horrid. Must have been stone cold for those down later. Won't bother with breakfast here again.

Visitamos el restaurante para almorzar y reunirnos con viejos amigos que celebramos 40 años de matrimonio; Fue el lugar perfecto. La comida era deliciosa y bien presentada y mi marido celíaco muy bien atendido. El personal fue atento pero no intrusivo y pudimos sentarnos y conversar en el restaurante y continuar en el salón sin sentirnos apurados o restringidos y mientras disfrutamos de una excelente comida. I had sunday lunch with family and friends and I must say that the place looks great. Lovely staff very attentive and polite. Excellent service, to mention Magda, Elena and Leizel. Food is fantastic too. Will definitely comeback.

We attended one of the Christmas Party nights and had a lovely time. Great value for a 3 course Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, as well as a DJ to dance off all the food! The food was of a high standard as was their service, which was very attentive. Would definitely recommend booking for next Christmas.

Whilst I have lived in the area for over 20 years this was my first visit to this restaurant along with nine U3A friends from our Sunday Lunch group. The hotel is set back from the road and although signposted up a short side road it can be missed and depending upon which entrance you use the restaurant is not clearly signposted. However, the restaurant is well set out and there is plenty of room between the tables. We were all sat on a round table and this was great for conversation. The menu which is £22.95 for starters, main, dessert and tea/coffee with petit fours turned out to be excellent value and there is no service charge automatically added to your bill. There were a choice of about 6 starters, mains and desserts and the food quality was generally high. All our party enjoyed what they ate with no complaints. The service was excellent and there were a good number of staff on duty. I would certainly recommend it, especially for a small party/group. I was not even asked to pay a deposit when I booked although they did take my credit card details in case of a no show. Our group will be back, probably next December.

Had a wonderful afternoon tea,the staff were friendly and attentive.And it was reasonably priced.We were not rushed and were made to feel welcome.I have an allergy to strawberries and they found a selection of jams for the scones. Would go again!

Breakfast Buffet is fine when they remember to keep the items stocked. Staff need more training before they are let loose on the paying guests. Takes forever to get a coffee or tea. Tea with lemon and honey does not mean a pot of boiling water with lemon and honey and no tea bag.

Lovely meal in superb surroundings. Staff were polite and attentive and the food was delicious. They even served up an iced Happy Birthday plate and all came out to sing Happy Birthday

We had a Saturday lunch as a party of six from the 2/3 course set menu. It was all good quality, but presentation was more of a focus than large portions.

Came here for the Rod Stewart night and had a good time. He was very good and got the crowd going.

I was unfortunate enough to experience Sunday lunch here a while ago and please please please take my advice and go elsewhere. Everything about it is less than appalling and not worth a penny of anyones money. GO ELSEWHERE!

My partner and I came for breakfast on Sunday and although the restaurant was very busy the food and service was great. Particularly the service from one of the managers Shannon, as she was very friendly, polite and helpful with regards to my dietary requirements. She was very attentive and our hot drinks where continually topped up without us having to ask. We didn't actually stay at the hotel, but was great to find out we could still have breakfast. We will definitely be back and thanks again Shannon for making this an enjoyable meal.

We ate in this restaurant when staying in the hotel. Both evenings the three course dinners we had were delicious and I highly recommend this restaurant. Stunning decor and lovely outside terrace.

Service is so-so but the food is good but the location is lovely, and the view from the restaurant is amazing. Caesar salad wasn’t fresh.

Very disappointed with lunch today, we have been here a few times and always found the meal to be delicious but today we were not happy. Starters were good but the main meal was disappointing......we had to ask twice for more gravy as the food was dry, we were served with half a carrot and one small piece of broccoli......why oh why don’t they give you a dish of veg.....sigh......after all they are so cheap to buy (Tesco are selling their veg for 29p) my chicken was slightly pink, the beef was fatty and the pork a very small helping. When the sweet arrived you could tell the sticky toffee pudding was dry, it had no sticky toffee in it just blob on the side, we had to ask for sauce which arrived as we had all finished! If the sauce was put on the pudding in the first place all would have been well. Coffee was good but again had to ask for the Petit fours, they kept forgetting! Not good enough.......bill was over £200! Will not be returning ☹️

Had an evening meal with friends the night before her wedding. Had a 3 course meal. The food was lovely. The chocolate pudding desert was AMAZING.

My partner and I had a fantastic lunch here yesterday. The food was superbly cooked and very good value at £21 for three courses. The setting was also perfect: our table overlooked the garden on a beautiful autumn day, the restaurant was not too busy and the background musak not intrusive. The staff are friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go again!

We attended the Mothers Day lunch at the hotel & were not disappointed. Free champagne on entry, followed by 3 courses in the conservatory part of the restaurant. Very fancy inside and the gardens were beautiful. Need to visit again to try their high tea!

I don't normally eat in hotel restaurants but I was totally thrilled by the quality of food and excellent setting and service.

We had their 3 course dinner, and it was one of the nicest meals I've ate. Very imprssed. Also a lovely venue.

I attended the christmas party with my company. What a very disappointing evening it was. The food was awful. I had the vegetarian option which was a plate of cold vegetables. The dj who was quite an elderly man was asking people what music they wanted but he played some songs twice over. I made several complaints via email which were ignored so then I put it in writing and was responsed with "a couldnt care less attitude". I would not recommend this venue. £49 for a plate of cold vegetables and a dj who really didnt have a clue! Total waste of money. I was offered a complimentary drink? No thanks not good enough. Would not book to go here again.

My Granddaughter, my friend and myself treated ourselves to afternoon tea here. A nice restaurant with beautiful white table linen . Nice sandwiches, scones and cakes, with the offer of more should we need it. They were also very accommodating in offering a choice for the diabetic in our party. Service was a bit slow considering we were the only ones there but not a problem as the waitress was very attentive to our needs and we were not in any hurry. My only complaint was that the tea, although served in a teapot, was tea bags and not leaf tea and I would have expected the latter in such an establishment. Tea bags are for cafes! It was a very pleasant way to spend a genteel afternoon after the buzz of Christmas, which we all enjoyed.

Worth going for the restaurant itself as it is a beautiful conservatory with great light and lovely view. Great for any season and occassion, an asset to Bromley. Great prices for a set 3 course. A little improvement is probably needed for how the cook and flavour meat. From the festive menu we ordered salmon and pork for mains which were both over cooked and slightly dry. Starters were ok and desserts was great (chocolate and grand marnier torte was excellent). Hope they find this constructive if they read it!A little improvement in how they cook the meat can elevate this restaurant to the next level. Still recommended from me, I will probably go back for the ambience itself.

We were a large group and the lunchtime service was excellent and I cannot fault it.I started with prawn cocktail and maybe I am old fashioned but I do like some brown bread with it. I also like to have some lemon to squeeze over it. My main meal was salmon. It was served with new potatoes, brussel sprouts, parsnip and diced carrots. The new potatoes were tasteless and in my opinion the brussel sprouts just did not go with the meal. The fish had a strong taste to it. I would also have liked some lemon to squeeze over the fish. I had Christmas pudding for dessert and it was just a stodgy pudding, not slightly crumbly as a good Christmas pudding should be.This was followed by coffee and a mini mince pie that was fine. Overall I would only give my meal a three out of ten.My wife selected a different menu and she said her choice of food was excellent and she would award her meal a nine out of ten.Other people in our group who chose different from me and my wife said how much they had enjoyed their meal.

Poor experience 2years in a row. Didn't want to return this year but on account of work colleagues. Ordered the only vegetarian choice on the menu. The starter was medley of fruit with mango coulis. The melon wasn't ripe - had no flavour and the strawberries had seen better days - wilted. The main was Salt candy roast beetroot with confit salsify. For a start the vegetables looked drab and very shrunken. The sprouts were the size of a small marble and had lost most of its green colour. The beetroot wasn't too bad but there were only about 2 pieces. Everything was swimming in oil. I had requested that the vinaigrette dressing be omitted and would be happy with none. I was there early so it could have been discussed if the chef was worried that the dish needed a sauce. However that didn't happen. Last year I ordered butternut squash soup and was the last of my party to arrive as I had to see a client on that morning. Guess what I arrived to see the soup on the table! And it had a layer of oil on the top!! The only thing I enjoyed was the complimentary tea and the mince pies. They style themselves as offering fine dining - not for me.

Totally spoilt this celebration tea for us. Had explained several times over the phone it was a birthday tea and not their "festive" tea but still when we arrived there were Christmas Crackers, Christmas serviettes and paper hats on table. We were expecting our glasses of Prosecco first to toast the birthday lady but no they served cups of tea. Once again not as we had booked. Then we were served scones with jam and cream so had to remind staff we had booked sandwiches !! They then had to get those made for us so our celebration tea was eaten back-to-front. Staff obviously realised the mess they had made of our booking so we did get let off bill. Will not go there again.
