Probably the worst Sunday Lunch ever! The soup was acceptable ,the prawn cocktail was lacking ,the terrine was tasteless. They ran out of beef. Reheated roast potatoes ….awful Yorkshire puddings you couldn’t get a knife through Green beans different colours from one serving dish to another The vegetarian option teriyaki oyster mushroom was like trying to eat a large rubber band that wouldn’t disintegrate Five if the six meals were served together (one was immediately sent back) …the sixth meal showed up after everyone had finished…..the food was already tepid when it was served The meal was booked for 2.15 ……we were still awaiting desserts at 5 pm. This was a treat for my granddaughters 23 rd birthday……I should have given her the £238.00 cost of the meal to put to better use .

My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary. also staying over night. I am not a fussy eater, but I found it hard to choose from the menu if you wanted something a bit different. You were ok if you wanted a burger or a pizza. It seemed to be a menu that was”trying too hard”. I chose the chicken terrine for a starter. It was tasteless and the sour dough bread was brittle. For my main course I ordered Sea bass with a coconut sauce. The sauce turned out to be a curry sauce that totally overpowered the sea bass. Accompanying the fish were a few squares of potatoes with a few strips of crystallised onion. I hadn’t realised that vegetables were a side order at an extra price! This was not offered by the waiter However, I was already thinking it was poor value for money, so adding another £5 on top would have disgruntled me further. On the plus side my husband, who is a plain eater enjoyed his rib eye steak and said it was cooked to his liking. A very disappointing, over priced experience . It is a shame, because we have eaten here previously when staying here. We will stay at the hotel again, but we will be finding another restaurant.

Excellent Sunday lunch. The meat was plentiful and very tender, good selection of well cooked vegetables. I must give a special mention to our waitress Jasmin, who provided first class service with a genuine smile, she greatly enhanced our experience.

Ventured here on a Sunday and endured the three course offering. The initial drinks were ordered very quickly and arrived pronto - always a good sign. One of the three prawn cocktails actually arrived with no sauce, this was rectified, but come on, how difficult is it to get a prawn cocktail right ? The main course was disappointing - the beef was over cooked and very tough and there was barely any gravy on the plate. We asked and received extra gravy, but only after the meal had been half eaten. In fairness the veg and yorkshire pudding were ok, but no offer of condiments, such as mustard and no service to check on us to ask. The deserts were the best part of the meal… but here is the grind. The service is worse than the beef, at least 20-25 minutes between order and then courses is poor. I managed to order a second drink - but it didn’t arrive, apparently the waiter had forgotten … The actual venue is ok - but it is very loud and difficult to hold a conversation. Compared to the food and service at the Sun Inn at Everton - this rates as a miss. We won’t be gracing the Mount Pleasent - poor food and diabolical service… That said the waiters and waitresses were friendly - just so slow, with negligible customer service.

The food is always of a really excellent quality, and the restaurant environment is top end quality too. Service is a bit hit and miss when they get busy which they were on Sunday lunch. It was my first time on a Sunday so I hadn’t realised it was a 3 course £29.95 set menu, with no option to just have one or two courses.

We called for dinner tonight, the service was appalling. We waited a hour for food. My partner had lamb kofta, two tiny kofta and 3 spoons of rice for a main course! We pointed out the portion size to the waiter who commented that his manager had the dish earlier, and had fed back to the kitchen that the portion size was inadequate. My burger came with soggy lukewarm fries, so that went back as well. We then waited a further 20 min only to be served a re-heated burger with fresh fries and re-heated kofta with 1 fresh kofta and an additional spoon of rice. The manager came no where near and sent a young waiter about 16 years old to the table who was embarrassed to ask if everything was okay. No apology from the manager no gesture of goodwill. We will not be back.

Awful today! Went for Sunday lunch but the beef was inedible! Veg and roast potatoes weren’t much better either. Pudding was nice though. When we were asked by a manager if everything was ok it was clear from the amount we all left that it wasn’t. As a goodwill we were offered free drinks which wasn’t really acceptable. The waiter we had then said we should have complained when we he first brought the food! He had obviously been told off!. I politely reminded him that at that point none of us had even tasted anything but he didn’t even apologise - not great customer service. Maybe some retraining required here? Probably won’t go back which is a shame as we’ve been going here for over 40 years for family occasions.

We booked for Sunday lunch as a treat. We have not been here for a few years and certainly not since it’s refurbishment. The place is quite stunning to sit and the booths give a personal touch to a small party. The dinner was actually delicious and the 3 courses for £29.95 seemed ok. Until it came to the mashed potato!! £3.95 for a bowl of mash. Come on Mount P, surely this should be part of the meal? The veg was also limited and it was also extra for the cauliflower cheese! If a dollop of these had been on my plate I would be giving a full 5 stars. Instead this is just skimpy and skingy. We also had butter on the table but we’re not offered any bread. This should be a sumptuous special Sunday dinner for this price

I really like this place and it’s my go to for meetings and lunches with clients away for the office. Just such a shame the staff are not as attentive as they could be. They just mill about the bar to behind the counter. Sitting outside you always have to get up and find someone, the restaurant and bar area can be little better. We would spend a lot more just get bored of waiting or times up. I hope this changes soon. When you do get served it’s always good. Just need a bit of oomph #frustrating

Having eaten here several times in the past my friend & I were disappointed in the lack of care & attention by the staff waiting on tables. The restaurant was not at all busy when we visited yet we waited far too long to place an order for drinks with staff either noticeably absent from the room when we wanted some service, or chatting amongst themselves. We had a very leisurely meal over several hours but again had to attract the attention of bar staff to ask for coffee. We felt given the quality of the food which was excellent and the prices charged, the standard of service on this occasion fell very short.

We went as part of a group of six for a pre-Christmas get together. As it was our first meal out since the Covid pandemic hit we were a little concerned, but were reassured by seeing that all possible precautions we're in place. The Brasserie is recently refurbished and offers a range of table sizes in a warm and comfortable environment. Guests were seated at tables throughput the room to allow plenty of space and staff wore masks at all times. We received a warm welcome on arrival and were seated, drinks orders taken promptly and plenty of time given to peruse the menu. There was a good choice of food, including vegetarian and gluten free options, to suit everyone. The food arrived promptly and everything was piping hot. I had the twice baked soufflé which was presented in a hot creamy sauce, rather than with salad, the pan-fried sea bass on crushed potatos then the baked cheesecake and I can say that everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. My fellow diners were also very happy with their choices and we enjoyed the house red wine, which was good value. There is plenty of free parking outside.

Visited here with my children. Given it 3 stars as the Hotel is lovely when walking through. But the restaurant is very average, maybe I was expecting it to be nicer but after ordering the roast of the day and nothing on it was roasted apart from the 1 parsnip I was disappointed. Would have loved some homemade roast potatoes but what I got were more like frozen aunt Bessie’s which I don’t mind at home but I expected more. Restaurant was near empty but service still slow, was waiting a lot which I wouldn’t mind if all the food was homemade but it wasn’t. Wouldn’t visit again, prefer my local for a roast. Bread was nice and the kids enjoyed their pasta and puddings though. So glad I had a voucher and wasn’t paying out of my own pocket.

Having been twice before we decided to go again after the afternoon at the theatre. At 5pm it was rowdy and the service was terrible. It was full of groups doing bottomless brunch. Not a suitable place for a family to dine. The swearing and behaviour was terrible and the restaurant didn’t do anything to control it or to keep families separate. Waited 15 mins to order drinks and another 10 mins is for them to be served. Amongst other things we ordered king prawns in shells… no napkins, no finger bowl. We had to ask twice for a napkin. Meanwhile our prawns went cold. We also ordered a pasta dish with chicken. The chicken didn’t come. So had to ask for that. When it arrived I’d finished the pasta and was left with chicken. We ordered two aperol spritz - they tasted like soda with hardly any aperol and certainly no Prosecco. They did correct them and they were then nice - but it’s not that hard to make a nice aperol. Service was slow on top of the mishaps. The staff are all barely out of school and just don’t care. One positive was that the food was nice. I wouldn’t return unless they sorted the staff out as I think this is what the issues boil down to. The staff they’ve chosen and the lack of management is going to unfortunately ruin the reputation of this nice restaurant. Rethink the bottomless brunch/decide what you want to be. You can’t be both a nice classy restaurant and offer bottomless brunch - not at least without separating the two and having some noise control.
