The Garden Bar - Inveraray in Argyll & Bute

Open-air beer garden, with wooden tables (a little small) but the place is worth it, I ordered 2 beers, the waiters were very nice, knowing that we were foreigners. The music they play is very lively. I recommend it to you, when you are in town in passing.

Stopped off for some lunch on my way back from Lochgilphead on a Friday afternoon. Wasn’t too busy and was able to find an outside table in the sun. Ordered the scotch burger with cheese and a side portion of skinny fries with a cold ginger beer. Burger was tasty with the added cheese and fries were good also. Good value and served quickly. Atmosphere was good with a nice choice of music playing in the background. Would definitely stop off again.

Stumbled across this gem of a place, on a first visit to the town. Ordered Venison burger, fries and loaded fries with a couple of non alcoholic drinks. Reasonably priced, and the live music was an added bonus. Highly recommend a visit.

Always a good drop in when out on the bike, very welcoming, really nice burger and chips and other food, Try to time it for live music and make a day of it. Great atmosphere and surprisingly busy given the location.

What a gem and friendly to the garden has plenty of tables in the sun or under cover, the bar service and food were fab and great value for the portions received. Highly recommended and food available all through the afternoon. The smoked salmon salad at £10 was amazing, simple, fresh an tasty.

Coming as a tourist with family, we had a simple hamburger just enough to sustain us before continuing our visits. Terrible disappointment: steak as hard as the sole or continental tire, soft bread. In short, fast food, not even worthy of a Mac. And I'm not even talking about the aperol served in a plastic cup that cannot be recognized by the taste. Just courteous service. Expensive for bad food.

Based on the reviews on Google I was expecting good food. However, very disappointing local homemade burger. As a steak, a charal steak found in supermarket trays. My mother having had the traditional scotch burger had the equivalent of a Michelin tire type rubber for steak. Then the whole burger remained poor in taste & texture. Decent fries. The atmosphere on the terrace remains pleasant with music in the background. Disappointed overall, maybe we should have taken the fish and ships they offered?

Stopped off here for a Guinness, sat outside in the sun. Friendly, attentive service. Price of a Guinness more expensive than some other places in town.

Meal was outstanding, I had Balmoral Chicken, wife had steak pie 🥧 😋 both were huge portions and couldn't finish them, started with coriander chilli soup very nice ,had a pint of West ,and a white wine £12 for both. Will I be back, No, as I got a speeding ticket on the way home doing 70 in a 60 overtaking two cars doing 40.

Food excellent. I had the burger which was in a proper burger bun also had chip's. Unfortunately I had to leave some as the portions were so big. Friendly and helpful Staff. Dog friendly which was great for me as we were on holiday. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing burgers, chips and pizza. I had the special burger with venison and blue cheese. Superb quality and value for money too. Lovely sitting in the garden terrace and also has undercover seating too for wet days. Dog friendly which is a big bonus for us.

Quiet and very pleasant place, near the lake, tavern atmosphere. The scallop ceviche is delicious 😋.

Nice outdoor bar and “street food” place to eat. The menu is pizza or a selection of small portion bites like venison tacos, chicken wing or burgers. OK prices and good quality. Pizza was very good, but venison burger for £8 was a bit sorry looking (see photos) and spoiled by a spicy mayonnaise which was not mentioned on menu. No sides. Tasted OK when I ate round the outside and could actually taste the burger lol. Nice atmosphere and quick service. Fantastic location just off the pier, with views to the loch. Annoyingly they allow smoking and didn’t seem to have any no smoking area as such, so even though outdoors was bothered by someone at the next table who couldn’t wait to light up. Bah. Dogs welcome.

Yes, yes n yes again. Ate here a few times whilst in the area. Food is great, atmosphere great, location great n staff great. They also have a covered area if the weather isnt playing ball and dogs welcome. 100% recommended if you're in the area.

We arrived on a very hot afternoon looking for shade with our two small dogs hoping for a quick cuppa. The Garden Bar fitted the bill, I would have liked to have eaten there and gone with friends it was that good but it was afternoon, too early for me to get stuck in with the relaxed and happy vibe but it was lovely, like being on the beach somewhere abroad. I know, Scotland is abroad if you're an Essex Girl lol but I'd certainly recommend it if you're hot, hungry and thirsty the atmosphere is a bit more mod than Inverary proper, so the contrast is great and the shade and happy staff were most pleasing.

Stopped here on the bike with a few friends just before lunch as they were firing up the kitchen. Burgers were good with massive portions of chips. Great beer garden with good atmosphere. Been with family and biker mates and both times loved it.

Good live music. Beer limited to Jarl in the real ale department but some good whiskies and gin. The band was the thing.

Lovely garden bar, sun shades available, a range of food and drinks offered. Fast friendly service and a good mix of background music. Absolutely recommend this outdoor area.... when the weather suits.

We visited on the night of the Queens lighting of the beacons and were swift to leave when during the ceremony, you played Flower of Scotland in opposition of the occasion. This was of course followed by profanities from a few punters which made more than a few of your customers uncomfortable. The sheer irony of your establishment being named after a King of the United Kingdom is in itself laughable.

The actual garden bar is currently closed (January). It is part of the George hotel and that is where you will be eating instead. Its a quirky indoor setting with a low ceiling covered in fairy lights, open fires and antique furniture. Its also dog 🐶🐕 friendly. We really enjoyed our meal and the facilities where nice and clean.

Great out door eating to be had here, self service at the bar and scan the q code at your table and order your dinner. All very efficient and fast. Definitely recommend this place if you don't want to eat indoors. Was only in the area for the weekend but found myself going back for a second visit.

we went here for some burger and honestly ...one of the best burger we had! highly recomanded the venison burger. missed order one of the burger for the table from the app, the guys behide the bbq were quick and so kind giving us a portion of chips along with it. this place is a gem! worth a visit if you are around this area but if you blink you might miss it! great foods, great drinks and friendly host! 10/10.
