Market Harborough is a fantastic market town with lots of independent shops. The Garage Bakehouse seems to be a good example of a small business and there was a queue. Everything smells good and it is well laid out so I was looking forward to buying. The service was chaotic (which should have been a red flag) and the older lady serving seemed flustered. I opted for white bread and a small selection of cakes. The bread was odd, I'm guessing it had not risen properly (not sure), it tasted wrong. The cakes were OK, although the order was incorrect. I decided to go back to complain later in the day, but it had closed, so I missed my chance. Perhaps this was a bad day at the bakery, but I will not bother again.

Great bread, soup, good sandwiches, cakes and coffee. First visit and will definitely be back. Yep, it’s a real bakery guys so you have to queue when its busy but that tells you something good is going on! Oh and you sit outside if theres a space . Staff very friendly and helpful… family owned and ran. We had flatbread sandwiches, coffee and a cake, very good. Owner popped out to see if everything was ok and had a quick chat - the ‘ garage’ was previously owned by her grandfather so a bit of local history into the bargain ! Great

A few visits here and can’t say much positive. Yes the cakes look cute and make great Instagram posts but the staff make the prices up as they go along. They’ll happily post on Instagram a cake being £2.25 and then charge you £2.50 after you’ve queued 30 mins. You pull them up for it and made to feel like you’re in the wrong. You even get offered 4 free cakes on your next visit and they try to charge you for those!! They post items of past cakes and treats to get you down in the queue and you get to the front to find out that they are not even available - it’s just so you spend your money. Again you pull them up for it and they are rude and block you via social media. Pre-COVID I liked the place. Short queues and had seats outside so you could sit down with your treats. Since COVID, they have gotten money greedy and with that complacent about their customer service. If you don’t mind what you get, how much you pay after queuing for 30 mins this is the place for you. If not, I’d recommend many of the other places in Market Harborouh and you’ll even get a chance to sit down!

LOVE the bread products, didn't love the granola bar (very crumbly and not sweet) Coffee is nice, but strong tasting (depending on who makes it, it is sometimes better than others!) Tried the decaf once but wouldn't have that again. Some of the other cakes look really good and the bread really is excellent so i will always be back for that and to try some other cakes.

Garage Bakehouse almond croissants are the best. Light as a feather and filled with gooey almond paste topped with slivered almonds and dusted with icing sugar. And nice and big! It is SO worth getting into Market Harborough at 7.30 on a Saturday morning in order to get in that queue early enough before they sell out. Died and gone to heaven quality. Love the cheese and marmite swirls, and very good sourdough. Really need to try more, but I give in to the almond croissants every time.

If you want a grab a quick lunch to go in Harborough, don't settle for Subway or a Tesco Meal deal...track this wonderful little artisan bakery down and you won't regret it. Feeling frosty? Buy some soup and one of their legendary cheese and marmite pinwheels, dunk the latter in the former and you'll never want winter to end. They also do a selection of scrumptious sandwiches and tempting toasties. Next on my list is their "Saturdays only" cinnamon buns...if I can make it there early enough to compete with the rest of Harborough for one!

What an absolutely fantastic find for grabbing some bread or breakfast roles. Trust a local to show you something off the trodden path. Went here to grab a breakfast role and a coffee and also a rocky road. They asked me if I needed some sauce or chutney and I said yes and they put in what was an absolutely brilliant concoction of sweet and chilli which took the breakfast roll to another level. I cam here for the next 2 morning straight again as I did not have breakfast included in my stay in the hotel. Wow! I visited this week for the first time as I am generally in the area on Monday when they are closed. Plans have been changed for the future as items purchased are worth returning for!As the name suggests, the location is a garage that has been converted into a bakehouse. It is not a browsing shop but please don't let that put you off. I was greeted as though I was a regular visitor and was encouraged to sample different breads. Conversation was normal without my being pushed to purchase and other people arrived into the small covered area, it felt to be a hub of the community.I decided to purchase a white sourdough loaf, and a day later it tastes as fresh as when first cut. Another reviewer has commented upon the cheese and marmite swirls...my purchase was delicious as was the sausage roll. The cheese is obviously excellent quality as the smell permeated the bus with fellow passengers drooling!Oh, and I was not overcharged as is so often the case these days.

Anyone who enjoys great coffee, artisan bread/cakes and great service should visit The Garage Bakehouse. The other reviews speak volumes and are all so very true. This quirky little gem bussing with acuity and a great atmosphere located in the centre of the market town makes the perfect pit stop for breakfast/lunch or a little treat when just passing by, you won't regret it! The care for product and service is clearly at the forefront of this businesses mission and it shows. It is lovely to see such passion and drive for great food/coffee and it's so great to have a local place to get it, I'm very grateful I get to drop by so regularly! The bread and cakes are all of a fantastic standard and utterly delicious so it's hard to say I have a favourite, as every time I go back I have to try something different and it's always fantastic, however I am rather partial to a Cinnamon Bun on a Saturday, they are a MUST! However, I do think it is a bit on the pricey side considering it is a take-away and there is nowhere to sit inside and there are no overheads which that brings. A coffee is £2.25 which is the same price as somewhere where you can sit in and although it's great coffee, it can tend to be just lukewarm depending on who of the staff are making it. We hadn't even been aware that this little place had opened near us, but were glad it had when we were caught in an enormous thunderstorm. Initially just glad to be out of the rain, we ordered coffee. Before this arrived we spotted some fantastic looking Rocky Road, and it tasted as good as it looked! With the rain showing no sign of abating, we ordered another coffee and perused the menu and decided a light lunch was in order. My wife had a Thai Vegetable Soup that she has promised to return to enjoy again, and I had Pulled Pork Roll with BBQ sauce that temporarily at least made me forget the downpour outside. This place is a real find and we'll definitely be back, good weather or bad! The owner is a lovely guy called Dan who as well as serving great food sent us on our way laughing at his uncanny Chewbacca impression!

The quality of the bread and coffee from this delightful establishment has been consistent from the first day Dan opened the doors. The sourdough is especially good. It is run from the garage of the home where the proprietors live. There are only two chairs though, so there isn't much chance of a sit-down chat. But the savoury and sweet delicacies are worth stopping for. Not sure what's going to happen when winter hits...!

This is a really nice village pub. They have a good selection of beers and wines. There is always a good atmosphere. They also have a pool table and great TV.

So disappointed with the service since they moved to kelmarsh! I’ve been a few times and the owner lady always seems so stressed and short with customers and sometimes staff! She doesn’t look as happy

This is the 4th time we have been to this cafe and I will say this “it’s a fantastic cafe to relax and have a bite to eat and drink”, and when the weathers nice, you can sit outside. It’s also dog fri

Love this place and the people who work here. Whenever I’m in the area I always make time to pop in for breakfast or a coffee. I cannot think of anywhere better in the area if you want good quality
