The Game Bird in City of London, Westminster

We had not eaten at the Game Bird for about 8 years but have visited the American Bar several times for drinks and nibbles since. We cannot praise enough the quality of the whole experience and most importantly the food which was absolutely delicious. We have already booked to return next week. Congratulations to everyone who is involved with this amazing restaurant.

We had a nice afternoon tea. The service was impeccable and nothing was too much to ask for. The ambience was great and we would definitely do it again.

I simply cannot fault the restaurant! The Brioche bun was enough to win me over, but every element of our Sunday roast dinner was the best I've ever had. This was accompanied by friendly service. The meal isn't cheap, but it couldn't be with this much care and attention. It was my first visit, but I'm already planning to return.

We had a lovely relaxed Sunday lunch with friends. The food. Location, prices and particularly the staff were great. Our waiting staff and sommelier were very friendly, attentive and super helpful with food and wine choices - the perfect place for Sunday lunch!

We spent nearly £500 and were rushed from the table as soon as we paid. We were asked if we wanted coffee & we agreed and within 5 minutes of the coffee arriving we were told the table was needed. We were not allowed to wait for one of our party to return to the table. They had our coats ready and we had to wait in the foyer by the door. They had no consideration for us despite knowing we were unhappy. Very rude end to the evening. A special pre Christmas treat. Disappointed- I would expect more for the cost of the meal.

It was just brilliant, as always; the cooking was sublime, the wine (a Falenghina) fabulous, the service impeccable, plus the American bar serves the best Manhattan cocktail in London. What else is there to say? Oh yes; please can you persuade the chef to put the best fish soup ever back on the menu?

Molto riservato all’interno di un boutique hotel altrettanto bello. Menù abbastanza vario con alcune tipicità inglesi. Salmone eccezionale. Il personale è in prevalenza Italiano e sono ragazzi fantastici. All’ottimo cibo abbiamo accompagnato le loro storie. Ristorante fortemente inglese, ma con la cortesia che solo noi sappiamo offrire. Unico limite il prezzo molto alto, ma per una sera speciale merita.

Un bel endroit même d'exception je dirais . Seul bémol a rajouter serai sûrement le forcing des serveurs a la consommation .

We so enjoyed our Sunday roast dinner here at The Stafford. The room was beautiful, the service was exquisite and the food was the best we have ever tasted. Thank you so much for our amazing experience here.

We had won a 3 course dinner for two here in a charity auction . Its not somewhere we would normally go, though having tried it we might come here for a very special occasion. On arrival we were handed s called " reduced a la carte menu"., however there were three choices for each course and we found things we liked. The food was good and we had a free bottle of wine, and they did not charge us for extra vegetables, fizzy water or coffee. Meanwhile people at the next table paying the full whack were having champagne and caviar. One of us had CORONATION CHICKEN WING M a n g o, C u r r y, A l m o n d as the starter and the other had GARDEN PEA SOUP Tunworth Croquette, Onion & Chive. Both were delicious - th croquette was a small cheese pastry and the soup was freshly poured from a tiny jug. Our next courses were FREE-RANGE CHICKEN KYIV Truffle Butter, Potato Purée and CHALK STREAM TROUT Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Basil, Champagne Sauce. Again we really enjoyed the food and also had sides of broccoli and asparagus . For dessert one of us had MADAGASCAN VANILLA MOUSSE B r i ti s h R a s p b er r y, Sweet Pa s tr y and the other crepes suzette which did not disappoint they were cooked in front of us with all the ingredients described as they wenr in, with a 3 foot high flame at one point!. Both delcious. We washed it down with a house white recommended by the sommelier . we enjoyed being pampered.

Each and every savoury and sweet item served was so excellently made! We were especially impressed with the chocolate work involved with making the sweets (eg the chocolate cigar, or the chocolate shoe horn). Tea was of exceptional quality and a lovely wide selection to choose from. Ambience/setting was lush and beautiful, and very comfortable. Most of all, service provided throughout our meal was top-notch. Very befitting of the Stafford hotel name. Ms Maria who looked after us was warm, thoughtful and attentive. She also demonstrated a detailed understanding of each of the items on the menu and was able to give detailed recommendations. Definitely would come back :)

This afternoon tea was booked for 5 of us on my daughters 21st birthday May 6th. We arrived to a beautiful table and a lovely waiter, but sadly the food was disappointing, the sandwiches were salmon and cucumber, ham and mustard and cream cheese and cucumber sadly only my husband likes mustard and my other daughter hates salmon and cucumber as well, which left her with no sandwiches, we weren’t asked what sandwiches we liked, also the cakes were ok but when we took our left overs away, we weren’t even given any jam or cream for our scones, so they got thrown away as they were so dry. My hubby was offered another pot of tea but this never arrived, and my pot of tea went cold and I wanted another but no one bothered to ask until much later, so my poor hubby never got his second pot of tea. I wouldn’t go here again for the money we paid I think the overall experience and the food was sadly lacking. We went to the Ritz for my 50th and that was so much better food wise and service.

This was our first visit to this restaurant for a Sunday lunch. The ambiance was very pleasant, we didn’t feel rushed and felt looked after. The food was tasty and beautifully presented. For us it was one of the best Sunday lunches i had in London.

Wow this place is so beautiful and classy. My husband had JUST flown in from JFK, this was our first meal in London and I’m so glad it was at The Game Bird. Our waiter was friendly and the food was equal parts comforting, warm and elegant. It was just the soothing balm my husband needed coming off a red-eye.
