Garantizado a volver.

We four really enjoyed the 8 course tasting menu last night accompanied by the matched wine for each course. I also recommend you also have the optional cheese course and let them choose a red wine to compliment it. The food is beautifully crafted, and delicious. The wine stunning and even more so for being matched to each course. The service is attentive and unhurried. My top tip is to book on lastminute.com for a discount and if you are a bit of a lightweight drinker like my wife and I, ask to share the wine between two of you. But even at full price, this is an experience worth saving up for.

This was a birthday treat lunch for two of my friends. The staff were warm and attentive, particularly the gentleman that served us, without being intrusive. The set courses were a bit of adventure as individually I might not have chosen some but as a whole meal it was perfect. Well presented, well cooked and each full of different flavours. All interesting but particularly the cheeses and the fish course which would not have been my choice but were great. The restaurant is comfortable but if I were to criticise it would be that some of the fittings looked a little "tired". Some of the tables bore scares of previous use that could easily be repaired. Overall it was a good experience and would recommend the tasting menu as a good treat.

I'm not sure where the Michelin star came from but I have great experience of these restaurants & I would definitely not put L'Autre Pied in the same category. On arrival the owner greeted me whilst chomping on her diner. The entrance tiles could do with a scrub and I think the contract with Initial Services must have ended some time ago as the door matt looked as though it must have welcomed some hundred builders boots. The food was mediocre and was served by a surly youth. To cap off a very average meal the pair of us were ill on the way home and we don't drink. Not that the management gave a toot!

If you want to find somewhere to have a meal without cramped tables and a very noisy atmosphere this is the place for you.All the staff are friendly and not over attentive which can be intrusive. We opted for the business lunch and at £44 is top end for lunchtime but for this you get 3 courses, 1/2 bottle of wine and coffee. We had not paid careful attention and this meant that between 2 persons you get a whole bottle of wine and you do get a choice of some good wines to compliment to meal. The set Menu only has a few choices and it may be somewhat limited for some so you would have to try the full Menu. The complimentary taster before the meal i served in an egg shell and was very tasty as was the between course sorbet. If you are very hungry be warned the portion sizes are small but you will not leave feeling hungry even so.With so much competition I am not sure I will be rushing but as personally although the meal was acceptable I have had tastier meals for less money in London. The dessert was the start dish and should not be missed.

We went for our wedding anniversary dinner, and it was lovely. The staff were friendly, attentive and very helpful. Butt even started before we got there. I had forgotten what time I had booked the table for, so, I phoned to check and as soon as I said my name, the lady on the phone said 'ah yes, it's 6pm, and we got your message (I'd emailed when I booked) it's your anniversary and your husband is gluten free. That's all fine'. Lovely reassurance! We had the seven course tasting menu through a Groupon offer, but were treated no differently to anyone else when we arrived (something we have occasionally experienced elsewhere when using discount codes!) And no-one batted a eyelid when we opted for no wine, just juices and water - it was the hottest day since 1976!The food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The courses flowed from one to the other, and each was explained as it was presented. We both loved the pork belly with carrot and star anise puree - it was truly divine. Each course was just the right amount and we left feeling full, but not overly stuffed! My husband is gluten free and most courses were suitable, and if not there were alternatives offered. He had gorgeous GF licorice bread and white bread fresh out the oven, whilst I had tomato focaccia and a crusty brown 'bon bon'. The only course where there wasn't direct parity was dessert - I had cake, he had sorbet (which was fine for him, as he preferred that!) They ever presented dessert with a candle and gave us a card for our anniversary. We opted for an early time slot, sitting down at 6pm, as it opened, but the restaurant soon filled up by 7.30pm. It all made for a fabulous anniversary evening. Thank you, L'autre Pied!

I was really excited to visit L'Autre Pied for dinner and had high expectations on it which, unfortunately were not meetI love fine dining and I think money spent on good food is well spen money, so I won't be complaining on the prices, if I decide to go to a place like this, but I would expect food to be really goo, which in this case was not.A part from the starter and the dessert which were remarkable, everything else was quite oily and salty and since we were waiting ages between one course and the other we were told this was due to a computer issue. We spent almost 3 hours for a dinner which is frankly way too much (also because the restaurant was far from being full). On the bright side I'd say that the waiting staff was really nice and attentive and the wine list is good and varied.

I really wanted to like it here and we really tried, but ended up leaving halfway through our tasting menu after not a single item was good. The food was odd, and bland with the exception of one dish that was so salty it was inedible. When we let the manager know that it was not to our liking we were told "this what French food is like". We have eaten a many French restaurants that were all to our liking, so I'm not sure what was meant by that comment. It wasn't just a little bad, it was REALLY bad. I really don't understand the high reviews for this place, for us it was a definite miss.

We had 7-course tasting menu, but nothing made me say "wow". Ok, wine, bread and cheese were good, but you'd expect much more from a place that positions itself as fine dining. Pork belly was nice and I liked the apricot cake as part of the desert (although ice-cream was not good). And nothing really worked together on the plate.I hope they read the comments and make some changes. There must be a reason why restaurants in such a central location have to advertise on GrouponService was amazing though

Three of us visited for the 7-course tasting menu, using a Groupon voucher that offers a 50% discount if you dine at 6pm or 9pm. We began with a Vichyssoise served in an eggshell. This was a made from potato, fried onions and cream and had an excellent texture. We continued with a Tarte Feuillete a la Tomate Iberico. This was described as containing caramelized tomato, although I could not detect any caramel effect. The next two courses were excellent. Pan-fried Cornish Gurnard and a Courgette flower stuffed with home-made Ricotta cheese, with a courgette puree. Then the main of very tasty Pork Belly, with charred cabbage, baby carrots and star anise flavoured puree. Meanwhile we were enjoying a Chilean Sauvignon Blanc. The restaurant offers a choice of a bottle sleeve at the table or a proper ice bucket away from the table. I like white wine to be well chilled, so we went for the latter option. Next came a selection of four French cheeses (we requested some with a strong flavour). One was similar to Comte, another had a mushroom flavour imparted from the rind, the third was a ripe goat's cheese and the fourth a blue from Auvergne. These were very well served, at room temperature, and all tasted excellent. We asked for the surplus cheese to be wrapped in foil for us to take home. On next to the pre-dessert a lemony mousse with crunchy biscuit inside. The main dessert looked very pretty - Apricot Cake, white chocolate mousse, dark chocolate tuille and liquorice ice cream.Every course had included ingredients that were interesting and enjoyable to taste. The style and presentation was a tad short of what you would expect in a Michelin-starred restaurant but the cost in such an establishment would be over £100 each and with the voucher we paid only £30 each here - a wonderful bargain. The added 12.5% service was charged on the full price rather than the discounted price, which is customary.

This restaurant is well located in central London and the look and feel are fine. I went there as a guest on a Groupon deal where the 7 course tasting menu was half price and at this level it was good value. However at the full price it would not begin to match up with other restaurants at a similar level. The dishes in the tasting menu looked excellent on paper and were well presented when they arrived at the table, but the chef simply isn't at the top level when it comes to developing dishes. Most of the courses simply lacked depth of flavour which meant that while the meal was enjoyable it was never going to be memorable. One other slight quibble is that the waiters while efficient and well mannered, they were too quick to bring the next course so that we completed the whole 7 courses in a little over an hour. I realise we could have asked them to slow down but in an establishment at this level you shouldn't have to. The best part of the whole meal was the bread as the sourdough and the tomato and basil offerings were delicious.

We had dinner menu tasting 7 courses.Good concept..Amuse bouche was ok, The tomato feuilleté was ok.Lack of flavour in the courgette purée taste bland. The plaice was over smoked, courgette flowers filled with ricotta could be a deep fry to give a texture . main course was cooked nicely we had poussin however the dauphinoise potato was lack of seasoning again carrot purée was not seasoned well, baby carrots were overcooked. I would prefer more jus.Cheese was not a great choice poor execute the grapes were far too old, Pre dessert was ok.Dessert was awful.Over all it was not a great dinning experience, I was very disappointed. As i was told it's a great place to dine but my opinion i don't think so..specially for the price they are charging...Also the AC was not on...and it was so warm inside and very dark like in a cage...was not very comfy and enjoyable. L'Autre Pied is arguably one of the most relaxed fine dining experiences in London. The journey begins with the warm, sincere reception which is swiftly followed by drinks and a selection of freshly made bread rolls. Whilst perusing the menu you are served the Chef's amuse bouches to help keep you sustained. (Pictures refer!)The menu will annoy you. The reason being there is nothing not to like so the decision making process is hard. Ordinarily in a mainstream restaurant you will hone in on one or two standout dishes. Here you want it all. As you can see from the photos, presentation is art itself and the flavours and textures do not disappoint. The service is not just good. It's very good. It is attentive and balanced and not at all intrusive. The team are knowledgable and you should not hesitate to seek advice on what to eat. The well thought out wine pairings take away any uncertainty as to what to order. All you need to do is arrive hungry, sit back, relax and enjoy the experience. Better still try not to be in a rush although they will accommodate you if time is of the essence at lunchtime. If you'd like to read more, follow me on Instagram and Twitter @DansReview

We enjoyed our evening here thanks to my Uncle and Auntie treating us to a tasting voucher. I will start with a negative which was that we saw the price of the tasting menu on the menus they gave us when we sat down to eat our meal. I would have preferred not to have known how much my uncle had paid to treat us. A version without the price on it would be good to give guests who arrive with a pre paid voucher. The service was good and the food itself was tasty. We enjoyed the freshly baked breads and the variety and quality of the menu was great. I tried salmon (served pink) for the first time and actually enjoyed it. The soup served in the duck egg was cute and tasty and the lime pudding was zesty and zingy. We also really enjoyed the crunchy popodom style crackers that were served with the cheese course. Really yummy. Would recommend to others. Emma, Southampton.

Some of the food here was sublime, but the portions were tiny to the point of ridiculous and the restaurant front of house experience was lacking. To start, they brought some delicious amuse bouches, and the bread was very good. I then had the quail and my wife had the mackerel. The dishes were presented by the chef and although I enjoyed the quail, the mackerel was really a salad with hardly any fish. For mains, my wife had the nettle gnocchi and I had the "rack" of lamb. I use the description lightly because I've never had a rack of lamb that consisted of only two chops. It was also under cooked and the fat hadn't been rendered. The gnocchi was really rather tastless but my wife had struggles to find anything appetising on the menu (these days she is practially vegetarian and the options all sounded just too sparse). The desserts didn't sound promising (where was the tarte tatin from the online menu?) so we passed them up. We left still hungry. The restaurant does a tasting menu, and we kind of felt they'd only given us two courses from it and not adjusted the sizes to make them main courses. In other words, if you're not going to indulge the chef by taking the full menu, don't expect to get a full meal.Altough our server was friendly enough, I must comment that the manager/sommelier (Michael, not that he introduced himself but I asked and am going to name him) needs to consider if he is in the right industry. He seemed to bear a scowl all night long, and made no effort to welcome us, enquire about the food, or interact in any way whatsoever. He couldn't even hold a wine bottle properly when pouring. Not what you expect of a restaurant with a Michelin star (or so I understand). Other members of staff were standing around chatting amongst themselves. Very unprofessional for this level. Although the chef presented the food, it was with no enthusiasm whatsoever and so this gimmick backfired. He'd be better staying in the kitchen and hiring front of house staff with personality. This would be a 2-star review if not for the fact that the food was mostly tasty, if sparse.

L’Autre Pied is the younger sibling of Pied à Terre, to which I have returned with pleasure when in London since 1991. The younger branch is breezier in atmosphere and a bit less high end in cuisine, but unquestionably a very fine place to eat superb food. Passing briefly through London this month, I took a friend there for a leisurely tasting menu dinner. Six courses are £75 per person (with a Cheese course that we skipped available for a £10 supplement). Wine pairing is £52.50 per person. The courses were: (1) White Asparagus/Wild Garlic Pesto/Ginger Chicken Liver Parfait; (2) Tartare of Red Prawn/Wild Morels and Mushrooms Pickled on Sauternes Wine; (3) Lamb Sweetbreads/Cumin/Aubergine/Yoghurt; (4) Lemon Sole/Courgette/Smoked Paprika/Home Made Ricotta; (5) Fallow Deer/Baby Beetroots/Foie Gras/Wild Mushrooms; (6) Millefeuille/Banana/Chocolate Almonds. The wines were from Portugal, Italy, California, New Zealand, South Africa, and France. Three off-the-menu small dishes were served along the way: a delicious taramasalata and eel on warm polenta; just a bit of vichyssoise served in an egg shell; and crème angloise/yoghurt with raspberries. Every dish was excellent, but we particularly savored the tartare of red prawn with morels and mushrooms, the lamb sweetbreads, and the fallow deer. The sweet would not have been my choice, but it was unquestionably well executed of its kind. I did a tasting menu meal at L’Autre Pied back in January 2016 (and reviewed it). I was interested to see that there was almost no overlap, even in a “fallow deer” dish. This would be a great place to go for a bargain set lunch. You could spend quite a bit here if you indulged freely in upper end wine, but L’Autre Pied offers top flight cooking at bargain prices. Strongly recommended: it absolutely deserves its Michelin star.

We went for dinner. The room is welcoming, friendly and professional service, but not overbearing. The food was very good and the menu price (£50) is fair for what it is. We were not rushed but not forgotten either. Delicious tarte tatin, but other courses were also good. We asked them to recommend a red burgundy and they suggested a very nice bottle with no attempt to "upsell" to a higher price bracket (the tradiional role of many a sommelier ...). Generally the wines seem fairly priced. A really pleasant experience. One of my current favourites in london.

This is my second time eating at L'Autre Pied and definitely wont be my last. I went with the family to celebrate my dads birthday and it was absolutely brilliant. The artistry of the taster menu allows you to taste each flavor individually but in a way where they all come together to create something very special. The presentation of the food only adds to the experience and obviously the service is of a high standard. The wine pairing was equally great so I would recommend paying the bit extra and having a beautiful selection of wines with your meal. Out of all the restaurants in London I came back here because it offers something none of the others can, superb fine dining at a very good priceOverall It was a fantastic meal with excellent service.

We were expecting great things from this restaurant, but ended up underwhelmed. Nothing was terribly wrong, but we certainly did not get the wow factor we were hoping for. We opted for the pre-theatre menu and had marinated, herring cucumber with quite a sharp onion as a starter. The herring was tiny but passable although the whole dish was one-dimensional tastewise. an amuse bouche was a tiny vichyssoise served in an eggshell. For mains we had bbq lamg with aubergine puree. The dish was tasty and made up for the herring. The atmosphere of the restaurant is friendly, but somewhat cool.

First visit 4.5.17. Graciously received as a walk-in, explained largely by a mostly-empty dining room. The service was top-notch right off the bat and remained so for the duration. The two course dinner (for 40GBP) started with smoked quail served from beneath a bell jar retaining the smoke. But it proved a light, delicate smoking, perfectly matching the meat. The sea bream main was expertly done with perfectly crisped skin and not a bone to be found. Again, it was a very nice combination of subtle flavors that did not overpower the fish. Despite these strengths, there was some evidence that the restaurant may be struggling to maintain popularity - lots of empty seats and cheesy self-promotion fliers on the tables that should have no place in a fine dining establishment. Recommended. P.S. True to French custom they do not take AmEx.

Our taste buds were challenged in a very nice way.I cannot describe all of that we had but I cannot emphasize enough how great and tasteful everything was. Wine list can be pricey if you go for French wines but we chose reasonable ones and the final bill was reasonable considering the number of guests we had. Thanks to the team, staff and chef for a great evening. PS: just one thing - maybe the decor inside needs a little bit of a refresher to bring it up to the same quality level than the food.

In fact one of the very best French meals I have had for a long time. But ,sadly, it lets itself down with a somewhat scruffy appearance. The tables had screw holes showing everywhere and should have been covered in tablecloths. The floor looked tatty and the loos just scruffy and in a desperate need of a refurb with proper ventilation.I can cope with these issues and enjoy the food, just about , but I regret I just cannot entertain clients here.Great on gluten free!

I came with a friend for dinner on a quiet Wednesday evening. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table by the window. Very nice surroundings and a lovely atmosphere which encourages chatting, which was exactly what we needed! We indulged in a seven course tasting menu, all of which was absolutely delicious. The selection of wines were good as were the soft drinks. We felt the dishes were good value for money considering the superb staff and attention to detail provided by the chefs. Each dish was so pretty (instagram-able #NoFilterRequired).Service was attentive, not overbearing, and we left very happy and very full!

We went there for lunch and then returned for dinner in order to see if things were any better. No in fact things were worse. For the prices being paid here I find it a little suprising that there is no table cloth and they make such a big thing about having linen napkins...but the linen napkin were shockingly badly pressed. I would never allow such badly pressed linen at my table. The food was ok..nothing to rave about. The staff fairly pleasant but again nothing memorable. Definitely would not be returning. There are so many other places that I would rather be who have worked hard to gain a Michelin star and where staff are welcoming and the table set to make one feel we are somewhere other than in a cafe. Sorry but really not impresssed especially as the prices are somewhat elevated.A lot of the reviewers seem to think that this is a Michelin starred restaurant...definitely not.

I had an excellent dinner here. Because I was going to a concert, I had only a main course and cheese. Both were so excellent that I resolved to return on an occasion when I will have time for a longer meal. I was warmly welcomed, and the service was as excellent as the food. I particularly appreciated being well-treated as a solo diner, which is not always the case alas.

There isn't really anything bad I can say about this restaurant. Excellent service, beautiful food (although the matcha tea tart with salted peanut ice cream was just a step too far for me - they made me something else when they saw my left portion almost untouched!). It's busy and there is a nice buzz. The only thing I didn't like so much was the proximity of the tables to one another. For a really quite expensive experience, I would have liked a bit more space between the tables. Luckily we were in the window so only had one table nearby, but I think I would have been disappointed if we were seated elsewhere.

First visit to L'Autre Pied to celebrate son's wedding. It's a well-located restaurant just off Marylebone High Street. We had pre-booked a "Taster" menu as we were a group of 14. Food was beautifully presented and the service was excellent. It isn't cheap. Portion sizes are not huge. And the tables are relatively close together. We attended this restaurant on a weekday which perhaps explains why it was not overly busy but nevertheless had a nice buzz about it. We enjoyed the 7 course taster menu which was delightful, and of a standard commensurate with the ratings of this restaurant. My favourite was the braised venison, which although small in portion was delicious. The service was fine and the price reasonable for what it was, especially the drinks and the portions were fine. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

My daughter started something of a tradition by taking me here for my birthday meal the first time she was old enough to 'treat' me out of her own pocket. And a fine choice too!Not only was I in the most magical company the food (7 course taster menu ~ we didn't go for the 'selected' wine to accompany each course) and ambience of the restaurant were both equally amazing also.I cannot wait for my next birthday.

We booked a table for a tasting menu with a Groupon voucher. The first problem we encountered (and which Groupon should make clearer) is that you are only able to book a table for 6pm or 9pm if you are using a voucher, not in-between. I can understand why the restaurant does this but it did make us feel a little unwelcome before we had even arrived. The tasting menu that you are given is also not the tasting menu which is advertised on their website. That one is £75 pp, whereas the Groupon version is £62, so again I can understand this but it was still a bit disappointing. When we got to the restaurant we decided to go for the matched wine which was definitely a good decision. It isn't cheap (£38 a head) but the wines are all really nice and match the food really well. The waitress explains each one when it is brought to the table and that really helped to make the meal feel special. It was good to try lots of different wines and see how they complemented the food. The other really good point was the service. Exemplary throughout, attentive but not intrusive, and friendly. Really well done. The tasting menu is 7 courses and the food is generally very good. There were some definite high points (the salmon and the pork belly) but also some lows. I was a bit surprised, and disappointed, to be given a plate of cheese for one course - that isn't what I expect to be given on a menu like this.Overall I would say that I definitely enjoyed the meal. We had a great evening, it was just a shame that a few little points could have been improved upon.

I visited with my husband to try the tasting menu. The restaurant has quite hard finishes so makes it rather noisy and no tablecloths. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and trying very hard to engage with customers at which they were successful. The vichyssoise, fish course and belly pork main were lovely, although we did wonder where the flavour of the fennel was.The cheese and two puddings were quite underwhelming and would benefit from a complete rethink . There was absolutely no sparkle! With regards to the bill we had a compulsory 12% service charge. I do not approve of compulsory service charges and also believe that the level is too high and also do not think it should be added to the Groupon cost.We had travelled to London for the pleasure of this visit so had devoted a whole day and paid train fares etc. Sadly this restaurant did not warrant the effort but could very easily be improved .Our experience was also marred by the volume of conversation from the next table. Not the restaurants fault though.

The restaurant it's nice but not looked after. A lot of wood was coming off from chair and from the floor. The food was ok, especially the hake and the bread. I loved it!There were two people to serve us: a blonde young lady and a man, probably the manager. The lady was really nice and smiley but she looked like a bit lost and she was not pay attention to us too much. The man instead, not even a smile, not even a chat to ask if we were ok, he put the wine on the table and he left immediately. He described some of the food with a low tone of voice and very fast, so we had to ask to the lady again about what was that.20 £ for this service I think it's too much.I didn't really enjoy this experience.

We were given a Groupon voucher as a gift and had an excellent meal on a rainy Saturday evening. Staff were delightful and nice ambience. I am not sure I would pay full price for it but for the Boucher value it was good value . Each course is small so you don't come away feeling overly full but definitely satisfied. Delicious warm homemade bread and complimentary tap water. We had a glass of fizz and a bottle of wine and a very pleasant evening. Highlights for me the hake and pork belly. One tiny thing which did really irritate me was they added service to the full voucher value so we had a voucher as a gift and ended up with an £33 service charge ( albeit some was for our Wine and fizz). I think service should be only on the additional items or at the most the voucher value.

We visited on a Groupon deal and whilst we were a little disappointed over the times and days we could visit we booked for a late lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant is in a nice location close to Marylebone and Baker Street stations. The tasting menu was excellent but what made it exceptional was the wine pairing. It is a little expensive but the expertise necessary to put together an ideal wine with each of the courses was plainly evident. Each course together with the selected wine was an absolute joy. Each mouthful of bliss was followed by another. I wished it could have gone on and on. Even the selection for the cheese course was superb. I am not prone to use hyperbole but this restaurant warrants the high praise.

Service was efficient - slightly overselling on the wine. Varied wine list - not just French...we had a great New Zealand Sauvignon. It isn't cheap. Portion sizes are not huge. We have been here before so had a rough idea of what to expect. I purchased the 7 course tasting menu through Groupon at half price and it really is great value for money. All of the course were really very good, fairly difficult to pick out one outstanding dish, probably the Salmon although the Haddock soup was tasty. Service is as you would expect, very attentive with good explanations on all the dishes delivered, a great selection of wines at reasonable prices for the venue. L'Autre Pied is somewhere I've been meaning to try for a while. Based just off trendy Marylebone High Street, it's a good area but not the easiest to get to by public transport if you're not wearing your walking shoes! The place itself was smaller than I imagined it to be - tables quite close together. Some clever use of mirrors give the perception of space but it's still feels quite cramped. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed - no table cloths, but still an upmarket feel about the place; perhaps something to do with location and the clientele it attracts. The menu is described as European, and is quite short. Only around 6 starters and the same number of main courses. I would advise you check the menu online before going as I found that while I was tempted by the main ingredient, the accompanying garnish meant that the choices became somewhat limited. Unlike other places (such as Texture) it was not possible to switch out the garnish as these were central to the dish which, for a restaurant of this calibre was a little disappointing. There was not only one, but two amuse bouche - some little morsels of crumbed venison followed by a vichyssoise served in an egg shell. Although it was delicious, quite why they served this in an egg shell (brought to the table in cardboard egg box) was a little lost on me. We went for the crab starter - a well balanced and refreshing dish which really showcased the crab in a crunchy, paper thin, sliced radish 'cannelloni' accompanied by some baby turnips. For mains, my companion had the sea bream and I opted for the partridge (on the basis that I didn't like the garnish that came with the roe deer, my first choice). Both dishes were beautifully presented but the sea bream looked to be the more balanced dish and ate well. The fish perfectly cooked and presented with celeriac and some spinach (as they had 'run out' of cabbage). There was some dehydrated cabbage scattered around the plate; it was dry and pretty unnecessary, I thought. The partridge was beautifully cooked - the breast served pink and moist, the little confit legs were more-ish. The bird was served with some crumbed parmesan gnocchi, juniper and Douglas fir. It was a very rich dish, and although the cooking was stunning, to my mind, it could have been better balanced with the addition of another green vegetable (perhaps some cabbage, cavolo nero, etc). We skipped dessert, but still served the pre-dessert of a lime-lemonade with a white chocolate mousse (I could easily have had more than one shot glass of this!) and some macaroons. Service was fairly attentive, although by the end of the night, one could tell that the staff were more focussed on clearing down for the night. We weren't rushed out at all, but they could have been a little more customer aware by the time we finished. Overall a pleasurable experience and given that we did have drinks, I thought it was good value. Certainly I would go back, but there are plenty of other decent restaurants close by worth doing first.

We chose the option of matching wines to our 7 course tasting menu and enjoyed the jovial banter and learning experience with the sommelier. I've eaten here before and rated it well but recently visited the restaurant again for the "Vegetarian Tasting Menu". I put it in quote marks as I think it is a rather inaccurate description. If I were to describe it as the normal tasting menu, with the protein removed, this would be more accurate. For example: Normal tasting menu, crab with beetroot and courgette strands. Vegetarian menu, beetroot and courgette strands. Normal tasting menu; salmon with crushed potatoes and sea herbs, Vegetarian tasting menu; crushed potatoes and sea herbs. The only course that was dealt with properly was the main where they had made a bit of thought by charring a cabbage. Basically it was a joke of a meal. Nothing unpleasant but a total rip off. The staff weren't overly focussed either, perhaps due to it being close to the end of service. Couldn't recommend based on this experience.

I was recently eating an evening dinner in the restaurant. Staff was nice and friendly. However, for the prices they charged the restaurant lacked a special or even comfortable atmosphere for me. Some but certainly not all of the set menu was delicious and the portions were very small. The main course could not be identified by the size alone. The price for the set menu (you cannot even choose your options) seems extortionate in comparison to the food we consumed. It is not a place I come back to based on my first experience.

We went here on a Tuesday night for the 7 course tasting menu and everything was great from start to finish. The food was impeccable, from the seafood panna cotta served in an egg shell, to the venison served with braised cabbage and ending with the deconstructed(!) Mille-feuille, everything was beautifully cooked, perfectly proportioned and impeccably presented. The waiters managed to make us feel well-served without being too imposing; they were attentive when we needed them and invisible when we didn't - which is not easy. For a place like this, the drinks were also reasonably priced, which was a pleasant surprise, and the quality was, like everything else, great.Overall, L'Autre Pied manages to have that perfect balance of making you feel special and the dinner an occasion, without being too pretentious and full of itself. So i went for the 7 course tasting menu on a tuesday evening. Now the deal was a £124 tasting menu for 2 for £64. The meal was ok but it was worth £64 not £124. It seems to me that as L'Autre Pied have devised a menu to fit what they are payed and noir the value it should be... After i was still hungry as not only was the food average but also small portions ( seven for a tasting menu), we had 2 desserts form the A la carte menu which were lovely and much better than the group on deal so maybe also they have different chefs making different meals. I would go again but go A la carte, you get what you pay for.

I received a call in the morning to confirm my reservation. I attended yesterday with my partner. We had booked the deal off groupon for the 5 course taster menu. As soon as we arrived we were offered a choice of selection of breads. My partner chose the sour dough and I chose the brioche. Both were delicious with the creamy butter. We were offered more on several occasions between courses which was nice. The butternut starter was a light and delicious start to the menu. On to the beetroot and radish course which really surprised us. We very much enjoyed the flavours of these vegetable which aren't usually high up on our list of favourites . This was one of my favourite courses of the night.Next was the cod which was immaculately cooked and flaked beautifully. The musselOn the plate tasted almost sweet it was just lovely. Another one of my favourites. Now Onto the fallow deer that I heard so much about when reading trip advisor reviews prior to my visit. The deer was beautifully cooked. However I was not the biggest fan. This is purely because of my own personal taste buds as I'm very sensitive to gamey flavours . And this tasted slightly gamey to me. A beautifully executed dish nonetheless and I did clear the plate regardless! Onto the cheeses now. We were given four types of cheeses. All very delicious . With a type of fancy cracker. Each of the cheeses had very different textures and flavours which we both enjoyed . The pre dessert was also very delicious and surprised us. It was creamy yet the citrus cut through the creaminess and also had a bit of crunch. Very lovely and another favourite. Finally the cheesecake was a good end to the meal . Especially the cream layer. The ice-cream Also unusual. Which we loved. All dishes were presented well and we were very content after the generous portions . Our sommelier was very knowledgeable and not overbearing as some can sometimes be. He knew when to leave us be and was extremely attentive when necessary. My partner is of the opinion that people shouldn't judge people of their appearance ... so he insists on our regular visits fine dining that he dress extremely casual. Which is ok with me but I just can't face myself to do it. Despite his protest to be casual we did not feel in any way that we were treated differently. And the fact we had bought an offer on groupon made no compromise on the service we received . To be honest I would be happy to pay the full price anyway for the service and food we received yesterday. It was a very good experience! Thanks to the team at l'autre pied!

Tried the taster menu a couple of weeks ago. The price would be fine for a first class experience but the décor and service was unexceptional and the food far too complicated. If you are going to serve up seven courses, each course should not have seven different elements, otherwise you end up with 84 different tastes in one evening, which for me makes for sleepless and uncomfortable night. I came away thinking that the restaurant gets away with it due to its posh location and tries too hard to justify its price. There is such a thing as the law of diminishing returns where too much of everything generates a worse result.

We took advantage of a Groupon deal offering their seven course tasting menu for £31 instead of £62. Firstly, unlike some restaurants they didn't look down their noses at Groupon customers! The food was simply among the best I've ever eaten: superb ingredients, clever flavour combinations, precisely cooked...and served by a charming knowledgeable professional. While we probably wouldn't rush to spend over £50 a head on their full-price menu, we would be delighted to dine there again.PS Of course it passed the espresso coffee test! Although the meal was first class a mixed experience. The restaurant is clearly a victim of its success and is obviously on the tourist circuit. Ticking the restaurant off as a must visit rather than going there for the food and wine. It does affect the atmosphere although didn't put us off our birthday celebration. An imaginative menu and superbly presented food. We had fish and meat and both excellent. A good wine choice with prices for all ranges. The staff were very helpful and attentative although the manager seemed to spend most of the evening on the phone or computer. Looked bad and meant there was no real overview. A shame for a high quality restaurant. When we went some low-life had just stolen the Christmas tree from outside. I hope the needles all fall off and damage them! A nice, smaller replacement inside. We were in the private dining area for a Christmas lunch, the long banquet table isn't completely cut off from the restaurant so it still feels quite buzzy. The food was sublime, we had a 4 course tasting menu with an optional cheese course for £5pp but none of us could fit it in. The bread, as other diners have mentioned, is worth going for alone, it's insanely good and they don't just bring it round once, I was offered it 3 times! Winning approach! The amuse bouche to kick it off was sensational, full of surprising flavours and textures. I really loved the starter of artichoke velouté, quail egg and truffle. And the desert (for someone with no sweet tooth) was to die for.My only very minor quibble is with finding a couple of very small bones in the partridge dish and a bit of grit in the leek on the fish course. But that didn't in any way affect my enjoyment of either dishes. I will be returning to try the 7 course taster menu!

My girlfriend offered to me a romantic dinner at this Michelin star French restaurant close to Bond Street. Even with a discount, it was expensive and she expected to share a lovely gift. However she was very embarrassed all the time. The place is very run down. The toilets were dirty and very old and tired. The table was has at least a dozen ugly marks and it was very, very used looking. They could have covered with a towel, but they were too cheap to do so. The plates were absolutely ridiculous: One piece of beetroot 1 cm by 2 cm. Or one piece of cake 1cm by 2cm by 4 cm. Everything was totally lost in the empty plate. Half of the dishes tasted plain and bad. My gf left them in the plate. The bill came to some 200 GBP (pre discount) and the suggested tip to more than 20 GBP. Totally ridiculous because the place is very run down, the plates very small and the toilets ugly, dirty and run down.

Made the mistake of going into a cafe where there were no other customers. I think I now know why. Visited the premises in the Square. Latte and croissant, paid immediately by card, lukewarm coffee, stale croissant then on leaving was accused of not paying. They made a check of their records and voila, it seems I had. Quite embarrassing and won’t be back.
