This is the Hornsea Inshore Rescue Boat Launch Cafe and Shop where we stopped on our walk for great coffee and cake. We live in Hornsea and have been here many times. It is unfailingly spotless, as are the loos - always a good sign - and the welcome is friendly. You can sit outside under a canopy out of the wind and eat your lunch while watching the activity around the boats. This out-of-the-way jewel is run entirely by volunteers and supports the work of the independent lifeboat. On our most recent visit we were served coffee by one of the crew who had two weeks before taken part in a hazardous and fortunately successful rescue from the nearby cliffs.

The Galley Cafe is part of the Humber Inshore Rescue Organisation and is situated at the Southern end of the South Promenade.. The Organisation is manned by local people and receives no government or RNLI funding as it is totally independent, relying on donations and fundraising and it does not send it's finances elsewhere. The Galley is situated in the general area of the boat launch area and lifeboat house with the cafe underneath the watchtower. It is a very peaceful place serving most drinks and snacks at very reasonable prices and various items for the beach and sea. The staff are really pleasant and welcoming and it is also dog friendly. The lovely sandy Hornsea South Beach is just across the road. This is a really relaxing place and I highly recommend it.

Afternoon tea was amazing. Delicious homemade food. Surpasses more famous afternoon tea destinations. Excellent value for money.

We stumbled across this little gem on a Saturday late afternoon. Fabulous pint of Marmalade Porter followed by a gastronomic extravaganza of small plates…..all amazing! So good we cancelled Sunday lunch plans and are returning today! We have eaten at Michelin starred places on many occasion and this food is right up there but in a relaxed environment and very reasonable. We have found our new fave place for our visits to the east coast and will struggle to go anywhere else now. Would highly recommend 🙏

We were looking for somewhere dog friendly for lunch after our visit to Wandahome in South Cave. The owners were really welcoming and it was nice and cosy inside on a cold day with the fires lit. As it was a Sunday we opted for the Sunday Roast. It was a tough choice though because the menu is fantastic! The drinks menu is equally as good as the food menu too. The food came out in good time and was one of the best roasts I’ve had in a long time! We managed to squeeze in some deserts and can definitely recommend the chocolate brownie and the sticky toffee pudding. Service was excellent and our pup got lots of fuss too. If you’re in the area and are looking for great food and drink in a lovely atmosphere, then this is your place! You won’t be disappointed.
