Newly refurbished so visited to try. Chips left a greasy taste in our mouths very expensive Chips in Colwyn Bay £1 cheaper !!!

Stopped by on the way home from a trip away, was looking for a chippy and asked a random chap in the street where he had bought his from! He gave us directions and said that they were the best around. Between us we had fish, chips, sausage, curry and fishcake. All were very tasty, good sized portions, they even split one bag of chips in to two separate boxes for smaller portions. Fish was fresh and crispy, proper chippy curry too. Friendly staff, served with a smile and chit chat! Shop looked recently renovated and very clean. 10/10, will definitely call again when visiting Rhos on sea. 😎👌

Saved our bacon when we had inadvertently turned up at a restaurant on the wrong night! Haddock & chips delicious & freshly cooked. Staff lovely too. Best fish & chips I’ve had in a long while.

I used to always go to this chippy, loved it and always recommended it however I have recently been diagnosed gluten intolerant. I went to the them this evening and was told that they couldn't help me at all and everything contained gluten. There wasn't even the slightest bit of wanting to help, the girl was lovely but the man wasn't interested at all. In this day and age people have ALOT more understanding for allergies but not here. I'm sure there will be plenty of other local establishments willing to help. I would definitely NOT recommend.

Food not bad but why are condiments not part of the service? 20p each? We spent £48, why do I need to buy 10 packs of ketchup. Won't be back....only came because next door was closed. Would not recommend!!! Walk with your own condiments.

Excellent fish and chips, would definitely recommend. We will be returning on our next visit to Rhos on Sea. We had a battered sausage which was freshly cooked and not soggy in the slightest. We also had a battered cod which my partner has described as the best fish he's had in a very long time! We had our chips to take away and enjoyed these on the beach. Staff were polite and helpful.

We visit family in Rhos and this chippy is our absolute favourite in north Wales. Staff are dead friendly, and the food is always delicious. We had two large fish , batter lovely and crispy, the size of the fish fantastic. Our little girl loves your fish. Curry sauce is fruity and SO tasty! We walked past here a few times during the week…….NEVER without there being a queue outside the door. We called Thursday evening about 1815 and there was still a queue….Fantastic fish and chips. Just fantastic.

We had a family chippy lunch and it was the best cod and chips we’ve ever had. The batter was light, the fish perfect, the chips beautifully cooked and the mushy peas & curry sauce were absolutely spot on. Nice lad behind the counter was very helpful and to eat them on the seafront was perfect.

Awful as usual , I’m extremely surprised with reviews stating that this is the best chippy in wales, my husband and are dedicated fish and chip fans and consider ourselves to know what a good chip is. This chip shop is a real let down. Chips are very overpriced , small portions, and uncooked. Basically a small hamburger sized box full of mush, and that is a true hundred percent honest review . Think Rhos on sea needs a new “wales’s best fish and chip shop” Entered the shop just as it opened to be greeted by a foul smell and off smelling oil.During this pandemic would have thought better, no hand sanitizer in sight, staff were mask less, girl serving said out loud she’d forgot her mask. Took over half an hour to get 2 bags of chips. This chip shop started doing deliveries during the Covid 19 pandemic. The deliveries are free and usually within 30 minutes. Very tasty fish and chips, fish are quite large and generous portion of chips. Ordered a few times now and will be ordering again.

We were in Colwyn Bay looking for some chips to eat overlooking the sea and came across this amazing place. It had a banner outside stating best fish and chip shop in Wales and that was good enough for us. The chips were the best I have ever had and we returned two days later for some fish and chips. The fish was perfectly cooked and the chips were yet again the best I've had. Very friendly young staff and extremely covid secure. Will be returning next time I am in the area.

I've been getting off of you guys for a couple months now so thought I'd spare some time to leave some feedback and I genuinely find it hard to find dissatisfaction with the service, food and price. ~£11 for a quality, freshly cooked beautiful meal. There's a perfect amount of gravy, crispness of the chips, batter consistency on the sausage and fish and succulent meat within the fish every time I've ordered thus far.Also, kind and polite service over the phone every time, they were understandably busy one day where it took around 2 hours for the food so I rang and asked how long they expect it to take for delivery, to which I was given a polite and friendly explanation (the food also arrived shortly after this phone call), they substituted a large haddock with a large cod and even rung me to make sure if I would be okay with this swap, I said okay and it turns out I paid 15p more which I said wasn't an issue, however, unbeknown to me, someone at the fish and chip shop actually took the time to put 15p in an envelope that said "Your 15p =)" and included this within the fish and chip bag, really thoughtful and wholesome!!I could go on a tad bit more but in summary, I would highly recommend giving the galleon a go if you get the time to. The Galleon, please do not ever change your ways as you serve as a good example to other food chains as to what kind of standards a proper restaurant should uphold.

We ordered a take-away on Sunday evening and decided to do it on line from our car at 7.10 pm.We were visiting from Blackburn after an errand in the area.It seemed very efficient and gave a precise wait time of 19 mins. My husband stood in the queue outside at the correct time which sadly does not distinguish between pre-ordered meals and phoned/ on line orders. All other chippy takeaways we have used have defined places to wait so this seemed unusual to us. Also only two customers were wearing masks inside which puzzled us thinking maybe Wales doesn’t have that rule? We checked the Welsh covid rules on crossing the border but didn’t notice if that was different? My husband waited for half an hour and eventually someone noticed and served him with the order and he returned to the car with the food at 8pm. It was very nice and worth the wait.Just after we finished eating we received a concerned phone call asking if we had forgotten to come for our order to which my husband replied we had eaten it. Still an excellent chippy just don’t use the on-line system if you are in a hurry it is obviously confusing when they are busy.

Given this establishment had banners proclaiming itself to be "The Best in Wales", we thought we were in for a treat! Due to covid, after queueing to order, you then pay and are told to wait outside the premises, you do not get to see the food. We ordered 2 chips, a pie and portion of baked beans. The chips had just 10 edible chips, the rest were scrag ends and bits, and too hard to eat, even if you wanted to! Some chips were soaked in grease, and clearly warmed up a number of times. The baked beans clearly had water added to them, there was less than 2 level tablespoons of beans in the pot covered in a pale coloured water. The pie fared better according to my friend, it was at least hot.This cost over £9, and most of it went into the bin.This is supposed to be the Best in Wales!Poor quality and disgusting food, does not encourage customers to return, especially at these prices. Will not be returning.

As a family we've come here for years when in Conwy. It's never disappointed. Staff are so well organised. Theres lots of us so todays order was large. Each meal was great, Good size portions and so delicious. Worth driving from Liverpool.

First stay in Rhos on Sea , needed a fish and chip supper for the family. Used the Galleon for a telephone delivery,card pre-payment service which was very efficient. Staff all pleasant throughout the process, food arrived fairly promptly, hot and well presented and tasty. Very pleased and no complaints, will use again !

Called last night whilst in Rhos on Sea. Chips were ok and not the best in this area (our favourite chippy was closed). Had chips and gravy, plus (tiny) sausage chips and gravy...a staggering £8.30! Well, we visit this place every time we come to Llandudno, however this time was very disappointing. Organisation I thought was good during this unusual time, but the food was not. Order was wrong and the fish had clearly been cut in half. Nice taste but as thin as a pancake, the only good thing was the chips.Such a shame when places start to cut corners- it will not do you any good.

My family and I went out to Rhos on sea to this chip shop. When arriving there was no organisation of what side of the store we should be queuing up at. There was only 3 people allowed at a time and two people where already within the chip shop that just made their order. However, there was 3 of us but we wasn’t allowed in at the same time. The other two people should have waited outside. There was no menu. When we asked to see a menu the gentlemen told us to go and ask the kitchen staff. The kitchen staff was very rude to us and said there is no menu. The girl within the kitchen has a very poorly attitude. My partner then asked ‘well do you sell donner meat’ which they replied ‘yes’. When my partner then asked for donner meat the gentleman then told us that they don’t sell donner meat. The gentleman then got confused if we were all together and paying together as we couldn’t go in together and had to make our orders separately. After we made our order, We had missing items and instead replaced with items that we didn’t ask for. For example. We asked for curry sauce and instead they gave us gravy.

They are delivering at the moment because of lock down this is the second time we have used them.both times everything was piping hot when it arrived i had sausage and Chips both times my husband had a chicken breast first time then a pie the second time. there curry sauce is divine will be ordering food again.

We had never been to the Galleon before, but when they offered delivery services we decided to give them a go (twice so far) and very pleasantly surprised.Fresh tasty meals were delivered, still hot (as we were concerned as to how they would travel on a delivery service).Will certainly continue to use them.

Funny smell when we walked ordered burger and chips and chip bap didn’t wait long walked back to the car (10 min walk) on the prom. Chips tasted like they had been cooked in dirty oil half a bottle of ketchup was on the burger. And we found a hair in the chips straight in the bin. Awful won’t be going back

Arrived to see a large sign , the best fish & chips etc. On the door to the cafe part, a small paper sign on the door saying CASH ONLY. Welcomed by dirty plates on the table when we walked in at 4.30pm. I asked the waiter how long the card machine had been out of action, she said three months! The dining area is very cramped and looks scruffy and tired. It's a real squeeze.On the plus side, the service is ok and the staff are friendly. The food portions are on the small side, but the quality is good. One of my neighbours went in November and he is of the same opinion. We (and my neighbour) will not be returning.

This is a small fish and chip restaurant in Rhos on Sea. The cod, chips and mushy peas I had were the best I've ever had. My partner had haddock, chips and curry sauce and his was equally good. The service is also very good and very friendly and it is excellent value for money.

I was having a look round, had stopped off on my way home from Llandudno. a little peckish, I was lured in by the unmistakeable smell of beef dripping. just how all fish and chips should be cooked. I went for the large cod and mushy peas. a lovely big piece of cod, in a light, crispy batter, served with proper mushies, delicious. if I lived local i'd be back and back. nice, friendly staff too. what more could you want from a chippy.

Not been before even though I live 5 minutes away. Three of us went, 2 had the special which is fish chips bread and butter and tea or coffee and I had fish and chips, wow it was all lovely but the fish was amazing , even the specials fish was large and big flakes of chunky cod.
