Fisherman's Fish & Chip Shop in Conwy

Had large fish and chips with 2 drinks was very nice very clean shop but a tad bit expensive but average price for the area good portion size was enough for 2 of us for lunch staff very friendly

Visiting family on Conwy and popped in here for tea. V friendly staff - food was fresh cooked & came within 5 mins. Fish was great - good portion and great tasting. Chips excellent & of course great with a bread roll. Can of Vimto and it was perfect !

Worst chips I have ever tasted…dry hard and bland! (Very small portions) The peas were a heavy consistency tasting of cardboard! The small fish and chips is actually two slithers of fish goujons and handful Of chips. No cheese & onions fry it…..crossed Off the board! Only fruity curry sauce, no hot curry sauce. Early closing time of 7.30pm! All delivered to you by Miserable staff! Try somewhere else as this Place is dreadful.

been to this chippy several times the food is excellent the staff are cheerfull and bright very clean and it has batter on the fish to die for and the chips are very crispy and delicious would highly recommend .

We were told "go to the Fisherman's its Brilliant " REALLY!!! 1 Fish n Chips...nothing special 1 Cheese n Onion Pie, Chips, Mushy Peas....Well the Pie was Cheese flavoured Potato with a little Onion...Yuk. The Mushy Peas...you could taste the Bi Carb in them. 2 cups of er I think Tea ( Jury's still out ). £23 +......An absolute joke. NEVER AGAIN.

This used to be good years ago but now …. Ordered a takeaway specifying no salt or vinegar. Couple that came after us got served ahead of me for starters. I had seen a whole load of vinegar being dumped onto our food so when I asked … guess what? Got the option of having them done again but got a refund. We thought to try this place for a change and, like the last time we did, there was a big mistake. Fortunately there are other places in Conwy which do it so much better which is good as we won’t be coming here gain.

Haven't been here for years as the previous owners made it unaffordable so we regularly go to pebbles Llandudno which is excellent. A change of scene so we sat in. I asked for my wife's fish to be lightly battered and the lad taking the order said all fish are lightly battered which is obviously their auto response to any special requests, so I said OK then can my wife's fish be extra lightly battered so he agreed. When the fish specials came I asked the lady which one was extra lightly battered and it became evident my request had been totally disregarded. Her auto response "All our fish are lightly battered" Both fish had the same thick batter on which never ruined it but had we known would have gone elsewhere.

Although the chips are lovely , my partner and I were in shock that we were charged 8.50 over our order price just to sit inside . Absolutely extortionate

Had the cod fish and chips. It was really good. The batter was crispy and soft (similar to a good tempura). The cod was fresh. Service was very efficient and sufficiently friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

My wife and I spent a few hours in Conway today, 14/11/23, and found this little gem of a chip pie. We had haddock and chips freshly cooked and it was outstanding. The staff were polite and efficient and we will definitely call back the next time we’re in Conway. Highly recommended.

The best fish and chips! Freshly cooked fish with light, crispy batter with perfectly cooked moist fish inside. The chips were also cooked to perfection with no grease seepage. Delicious!

Have just been and ordered 2 lightly battered fish the girl on the counter shouted to the fryer 2 more fish, so i said lightly battered please, she said he knows I waited 5 minutes I saw the fryer put 2 lightly battered fish on one side and threw 4 more fish to the other side. then the girl who was serving went missing and the fryer started to make orders up, I got 2 ordinary fish and he put the 2 lightly battered fish on someone else's with chips so I said I wanted lightly battered fish and he said there is not much batter on them but in the end he took the 2 lightly battered fish off the chips and gave them to me if I had not paid upfront I would have walked out and told him to keep his fish the service was appalling I have been to this chippy numerous times when other staff have been working no problem so why have the staff that was working on sep 29th got such a problem ?

Fantastic fish and chips: not too greasy, made in tasty beer batter. Fast, efficient service and not expensive (we noticed that most competing f&c shops charged about the same). Delivered in a handy box with a lid, so that we could deny the seagulls their snack when needed :)

Yet again, absolutely superb fish and chips from what has to be the best Fish and Chips in North Wales. It was my wife and mine 49th wedding anniversary and instead of an elaborate meal in the evening we opted for the Fisherman's Fish and Chips at lunchtime. The food is excellent and the staff are so friendly. A very big thank you.

We came years ago and it was brilliant. Always worry when coming back to a plafe and bringing others after talking it up, but it surpassed expectation again. Sausage, Scampi and chips were great. Fish has a beautifully light batter on and curry sauce was lovely & fruity. Top notch.

Chips were oily and tasted like they’d been cooked a few times. Fish wasn’t anything special and neither were the mushy peas. Wasn’t worth the money paid. Wouldn’t use again. The location is great though.

A couple of starving bikers turn up for a chippy supper just as they were about to close. Squeezed us in with no problems. I've tried a few chippies on my travels, but these are currently my favourite and will take some beating. Had a nice chat with the owner, who also gave us an extra addition to our order. Warm, friendly, and great food. Keep up the great work 👍

Food was great, fresh cooked to order, the chips were seriously crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Really good prices, for example £2.70 for regular chips with a really good portion size. The staff were also really friendly and efficient, could not fault

Straight forward chippy with freshly made food. Doesn't try to be anything it's not. Affordable and tasty.

Best GF fish and chips I’ve had - ever!! Went through a little alley off the quay to a small window where you gave your order. The waitress took your money and told us, as all orders are cooked fresh and because our order was GF, there would be a 20 minutes wait. So, so, pleased we did this. Crispy dry battered cod and really tasty chips - served with GF vinegar. There is actually a front to this chip shop on the main road, but all the more enjoyable sitting at one of a handful of tables overlooking the quay. We will be back!!

Possibly the best fish and chips I've ever had

We have been here so many times over the last 20 years and really loved it. But two days ago we tried to book a table for four grandparents and three children. You can't get through on the phone and although they say they will get back to you in 24 hours, nothing for two days. So we turned up in person and of course we couldn't get in. The queue was down the street for takeaway so we went somewhere else. Such a disappointment.

We came to get some chips after being let down by another restaurant nearby. We weren't let down here. Crispy, fluffy, salty and delicious, some of the best chips I've ever had. They were so good we came back for a second portion before leaving after we'd gone round the castle.

Awful chip! Empty shells that were obviously reheated. Gave them to the seagulls

Lovely staff fish was a bit bland

Re doing my review on Fisherman Chip Shop. Been here 3 years on the run and always left a good review so the fish and chips can be good. Went Sunday first of all the Atmosphere was terrible the young lady serving face would crack if she had to smile ( At a none Regular) quite happy to smile at a regular customer just ordering chips and wave at people passing but placing an order felt like I had inconvenience her even though the place was busy. Nice second lady serving up the order can at least smile the fish fryer did not make eye contact with any one when I was in the shop 20 minutes in total. Now to 3 fish and chips 2 mushy peas £30 all 3 fish different sizes from small to very small. Well the fish is lovely and fresh with a good taste and texture every thing was dripping in oil all three boxes I drained oil out after serving on to plates. Come on guys there are 3 fish and chip shops in a 1 minute walk if you don’t want holiday makers making your shop busy put a sign up saying we prefer locals. The photo is 1 and a 1/2 portion on 1 plate.

Worst scampi n chips I've tasted, scampi was full of grease and chips tasted frozen when you visit a seaside town you expect the chip shops to be bang on especially when they bost to be one of the best chippys in Wales I should of just walked in put £20 in charity box and walked out , and there is nothing like a room temp coke on a boiling day 👎

Ordered 2 mini fish and chips, staff forgot to put salt and vinegar on and the chips were incredibly bland without. Fish was okay. All very greasy and threw most of it away. Possibly the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had.

Excellent fish and chips, cooked fresh to order

What a fab place, I remember always using the little alleyway as a kid to order chips with my family so coming back as an adult brought all the memories. The alleyway was closed when we attended but the shop at the front was fairly quiet and we had a browse at the menu, as a veggie it’s always difficult finding somewhere that caters but when I asked the man behind the counter he told me the gravy way veggie, my day was made! Great portions, sister loved her kids fish and chips and we both had spare to take with us on our walk on the beach. Lovely little gem in Conwy!

Sorry, but always disappointed when there is only cod on the menu. That said, all cooked nicely to order, but was lacking flavour.

Beautiful fish and chips in Beautiful conwy. Perfect to fill your belly after a walk around the city walls and a mosey through the castle.

My worst experience ever. Don’t come here, you will get sick. The meat is frozen, the bread is cold, the salad is also frozen and the chips are more oil than chips. Horrible!!!

Got food from round the back by the passage by the toilets.. fish on was either Cod or Haddock.. we got both both very fresh.. chips very nice.. pay for your own ketchup.. ask for salt/vinegar.. very nice recommended

Haddock and chips was great. £9.55 if memory serves me correct. Was no table service on the day, but the food was great.

£10 for very small fish and chips and mushy peas, but all very good quality - even the mushy peas🙂. I would go again, if I could afford it.

Very disappointed paid a fortune for fish and chips then we're asked to pay even more for a fork that you were actually able to eat the fish and chips with the free wooden thing they gave you was useless. We chose to sit in and the sign said there was no table service but for the price you would have atleast expected a knife and fork! Food was OK but definitely not worth the price. Shame the food has been priced to fleece the tourists and that there wasn't a better overall experience, was left feeling ripped off everything was an extra and if you chose to have them all in one tray you got like a third of the portion you would get if you had them in their own seperate tub. Poor.

Every time we visit Conwy it has become a ritual to get Fish and Chips from here and sit on the harbour, rain or shine..... Possibly the best Chippy in the Universe!

Fantastic Fish and Chips and service beyond all expectations, the young chap who served us, and everyone else in the room, was exemplary.

Had a great fish and chips here at the restaurant. There's a lot of stairs up to the restaurant and then again to the toilet. Very quick and efficient service too. Nicely decorated, nautical but a bit different to other nautical places which was nice. The chips were very potatoey and not too greasy at all. Your clothes do smell afterwards which you'd expect! £56 for 6 of us including some drinks and sides. They offered a smaller size fish and chips which is good.

Always a queue here but no wonder, fabulous fish and chips. Very friendly service food always served quickly and with a smile.

A great fish and chip shop. We had the christmas special Pig n blanket. A bit pricey but its very big single PnB. We loved the ambience like that typical one for a port side.

Best fish and chips I’ve ever had. I think I need to move to north Wales. I also tried the Christmas special battered Brussel sprouts and cranberry sauce. Mind blown. A must to visit if you are in the area. Will not disappoint. Staff welcoming and friendly too.

Nice and friendly staff. There were loads of chips which we cant finish all. If you are chips lover, you will probably enjoy it. There was little oil left on the plate which make it not very crunchy. It would be good if the floor is not slippery, not sure if it is oily or just wet

This in my opinion is one of the best in North Wales.

The restaurant makes fresh and juicy fried fish. The table service is very good.

I ordered the cod special (£11.85) and my dinning partner for this expedition had the light bite fish and chips (£7.25) with mushy peas (£1.30). Tea for two came quickly and the food also landed promptly. The service we had was excellent. The food was a little on the greasy side for me and my colleague also said pretty much the same. Overall worth the visit.

Neat, clean and up to expected Parkdean standards. Linen and entertainment passes.were included free this time, which was much appreciated.

A place to go for great food in Conwy!

Called back to The Fishermans' Chip Shop after a break of sometime due to Pandemic lockdown etc. Was not disappointed in the slightest. Same excellent fish & chips, same welcome, same polite & charming staff. Beautifully cooked piece of Haddock. (The only place that l eat the batter)! Drove from Liverpool to Conwy specifically to eat there. Well worth the trip, enjoyed Conwy too, as always. I cannot recomend this eatery highly enough. Please call in, if you are in Conwy, you will enjoy a cracking meal & service. A very big 'Thank You' to all the staff. Excellent.
