My family and I travelled Jan 24th 2024 just before the storm started, We arrived really early and the hotel were so accommodating they fixed up a new room for us so we could check in early. We were tired from the drive and just this little touch went a long way. The food (breakfast and dinner) at The Coast Restaurant was lovely well cooked and delicious. All the staff were always on hand to help. Nothing seemed too much for them. There was so much to do on site from the spa and golf course, to a coffee shop and restaurant. Overall I can’t wait to return for another stay. I will definitely be booking into the spa next time. I will be recommending this hotel to friends and family. Thank you so much for such a welcoming and lovely weekend break.

Lovely spa area and lovely service

Friend and I were booked in for Sunrise Spa experience, was fabulous from start to finish. The staff are so lovely and helpful. We also requested if we could have a lunch in the Spa which was accommodated without any problem. Really nice lunch and even got a wee slice of cake for my birthday. ❤️

One of the highlights of our stay was how welcoming they were to our dog. It's not always easy to find a pet-friendly hotel that genuinely embraces furry guests, but the Gailes Hotel made sure our dog felt right at home. The thoughtful touches and accommodating attitude towards pets really made a difference. The room was beautifully decorated, comfortable, and spotless. The dining experience was top-notch, with delicious food and a great atmosphere. The hotel's amenities, including the spa, added to the overall wonderful experience. I can't thank the Gailes Hotel enough for making my birthday so special. If you're looking for a fantastic place to stay in Irvine, especially if you have a pet, I highly recommend the Gailes Hotel. Lovely hotel , great food and staff friendly , room is spotless .

My wife and I got a massage treatment for our birthdays. The treatment was great. My wife’s voucher was bought in March 2024 and cost £95. My voucher was bought in November 2024 (8 months later) and cost £120. An increase of 26%!! Greed at its best I think! Just to be clear, we were both in the same room right next to each other for the treatments which were identical.

Booked a meal here for my sister’s birthday with our family, the first time my family had been here, but it will certainly be the last. Poor customer service from the waiting staff who left us sitting for lengthy periods of time as if we were invisible, even though there were six of us plus a baby in a pram! Had to ask to be served! Two of the orders included burgers, which were dire. My son’s “cheeseburger” with relish was served without any cheese, butter or relish! My mums vegan burger was served without any condiments or onion rings that it was also meant to be served with! Sad, dry examples of burgers that lacked the necessary accompaniments to make them palatable. When attempting to address this with the waiter, he gave us a slice of cheese and onion rings, but still no condiments! How on earth these burgers were deemed satisfactory to serve is astounding. Our allotted time for our table ran over despite not ordering desserts because of the slow and inattentive nature of the staff. We will not be back and will not be recommending to anyone.

Fantastic from start to finish. Massage was out of this world. My husband has allergies and had to move rooms. Not a problem once we explained the staff changed rooms without hesitation x

This was a day visit so didn’t get a chance to see the rooms. A beautiful Spa with friendly staff and a lovely afternoon tea well worth a visit . Highly Recommend

Lovely hotel, facilities and staff. In particular, Bonnie in restaurant was such a sweetheart and so attentive. She is a credit to the hotel. Negative aspects - for the price payed and spa facilities included, we were not provided with any bath robes or slippers. When escalated to reception staff, they stated “ they would see what they could do” however, this was not acted upon. This made such an impact as we were walking around spa facilities in bare feet and towels around our body. There also was no fridge in hotel room and kettle did not work. For above reasons. We will not return.

We were booked in for the Rise and Shine spa day package. The staff were very attentive, the treatments were excellent and the food was lovely. We will definitely be back again.

Was very busy with a lot of covers at the time we were booked in so the guys were a little stretched so took a bit longer between courses coupled with some technical issueswith the pos system. Food was delicious though.

I had the most wonderful spa experience , the full body massage. I used the thermal suite facilities for an hour prior to my treatment, everywhere is clean and smells amazing. The changing rooms are spacious and the staff are so friendly and helpful. And my body is very grateful ☺️

Harmony spa day with afternoon tea .

Best spa in Ayrshire, food is lovely, staff are excellent, facilities are fantastic and you are never rushed! Treatments to suit everyone and finishing off with the hot tub outside under the stars is great.

Coast is 5 Star, great food, breakfast and decor. Spa / thermal pool is 4 Star, clean and modern with a good size gym Hotel is 3 Star, clean rooms and hallways etc BUT when you book a DOUBLE room with "extra large double bed" it shouldnt be 2 singles pushed together, especially when one is soft and lower down than the other being a newer harder mattress. If im booking a DOUBLE I shouldnt have to ask for a DOUBLE BED, this should be standard practice! Pillows are like towels, never had any extra ones in the cupboard either. Rooms are not really sound proof as I had the 10 ton man next door snoring all night. The hotel on its own is not luxury. Might come back for dinner in the future but doubt I will use the hotel again. Booked via Booking.com

A lovely meal in lovely surroundings & dog friendly too

This was my third time visiting the Gailes , we keep returning because of the consistent quality and ease along with the proximity (4min drive) to the beach. We love that the hotel is doggy friendly making it so easy to bring my senior dog, having our room close to the doggy exit with access to a garden area makes life very comfortable . We also love the thermal spa experience which always feels great on a rainy Scottish day. We also enjoy the casual dining area (and patio when there's some sunshine ) the menu is varied and accommodates our family, we also always enjoy the full cooked breakfast options. The staff are always excellent, friendly and accomodating which is the cherry on top.

Went for a Christmas 🎄 meal with my parents, and service was second to none, the staff were very efficient and could not be more helpful towards me and my parents. My mother was special needs and needed gluten free meal which they helped the best they could to make sure her meal was all gluten free. The food was also very nice, me and my parents loved the food. All the staff were very friendly and always asking if they could help with anything at all. So for this reason they get 5🌟eview from me. Thanks to all the staff who made my Christmas day meal with my parents a memorable occasion. 🍻🥂

Attended for a revitalising manicure yesterday 23/12/24. It was just lovely. . Technician Rachel was very nice and very professional which made this wee treat from my son a memorable experience 😊.

Had a good few nights stay, staff were really friendly and polite the only issue really was service at dinner was quite slow, sat down for dinner at 7pm and didn't finish until 9pm for 2 courses and it wasn't really busy. Nice clean and comfortable room, no sockets by the bed, the shower was powerful and warm but the head wasn't great, it was like taking a shower under a hose pipe and no heated towel rail or heating in the bathroom So wasn't great getting out of the shower.

Last year we had a company sales launch here, and had a good experience. I decided to book again this year and the experience was drastically different. From the start, the email communication was poor and rude. I was even asked for payment after we had paid.. On the day our room was sandwiched between 2 other rooms with events which were noisy. At 1230 we were asked if we were ready for the meal because it was ready. We promptly all went to the restaurant for the meal and then waited 25 mins for the food. Portion sizes were a lot smaller than last year and overall everything was disappointing. Will be looking elsewhere next year.

Fabulous rise and shine experience at si spa, relaxed greeting, fab variety of hot and cold thermal experiences. Great massage and the avocado toast and eggs Benedict was a perfect ending. Really impressed at the food and the whole ambience of the place. Thanks so much, we will be back ❤️

Great service all round from check in to check out. Was shown up to my room at check in and explained everything, restaurant staff for friendly and chatty and food was amazing.

We visited for the festive afternoon. Lovely atmosphere, lovely hot buffet, great entertainment. Only issue was some of the bar staff weren't very friendly. No smile, no eye contact, no please and no thankyou. Just not very professional.

Lovely time spent here with my heartrob. It was good value for money. Staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. The food was good ( We had dinner and breakfast). We also went to the spa, which was lovely. The atmosphere was nice with lots of picturesque scenery. My pictures don't do justice to the actual place.

Friend and I attended for a day spa package. Facilities were great ( would have enjoyed more than an hours use of the thermal spa) and I then had a BNS shoulder and facial done by Holly. Lovely treatments, one of my favourite facials, professional and friendly and a lovely big treatment bed. Lunch was a good sized portion and the smoothie was lovely. Thank you, will def be back

All Style, No Substance The Gailes Hotel looks the part, and our room was clean thanks to the lovely housekeeping staff. But honestly, the staff in the restaurant and spa let the whole place down. It felt like they hadn't been trained properly and just didn't care about making our stay enjoyable. It started in the coffee shop where we were served raw sweet potato fries - twice! When we complained, the staff were rude about it. There were also other people beside us complaining about their food. Then at the spa, that's where the real issues began - we were made to feel like second class citizens. No robes and not allowed to purchase drinks or go outside. It felt like we weren't good enough to be there because we weren't having a treatment - the girl actually said, oh you are JUST hotel guests. The restaurant was no better. We weren't offered water, which is just basic stuff in any restaurant. They didn't even let us try the wine before pouring it when we bought a bottle. At breakfast, they made us wait whilst they prepared our table and then sat us at a dirty table. And to top it all off, they charged us for cappuccinos without telling us they weren't included in the breakfast. Honestly, the whole experience was a let-down. The hotel looks fancy, but the staff need to do a lot better. We won't be going back. We have visited a lot of hotels, if you visit a spa for a treat, special occasion and expect it to be luxury, this isn't the hotel for you.

My visit was for a Spa Day with my daughters which was fantastic from start to finish. The venue and facilities were very clean and welcoming, the staff couldn’t have been nicer, so friendly and helpful and the light lunch and drinks we had as part of the spa package was delicious. I look forward to my next spa visit 🤩

Lovely stay at Gailes last night. we had booked dinner bed and breakfast but arrived early and went to GGs for lunch. All meals were delicious and cocktails were fab. The staff also sang happy birthday when they brought dessert to our friend which was a lovely gesture last night. Had a great time at the spa and thermal suite. A big thank you to all staff who were so lovely and friendly. I couldn't get our shower to turn off but it was dealt with efficiently. Would highly recommend and hopefully return. Thank you to all.

We came for a spa day and left feeling absolutely brilliant. The thermal room, outdoor whirlpool and rasul mud exfoliation experience were all brilliant, as was our lunch and cocktails. Special mention to Gracie who was super kind, incredibly attentive and thoroughly explained our treatments. We’ll be back!

I had an LED facial and it was terrific! I would highly recommend it. My therapist was attentive, through and thoughtful. Her down to earth sense of humour and postive attitude was refreshing and just the tonic I needed. I would definitely book again. It’s a little haven with beautiful tranquil facilities.

Fantastic stay, all service was exceptional from start to finish, only thing was the bed is a little too firm but didn't ruin our stay was a fantastic night away and dinner was exceptional

Went for an afternoon spa as a birthday treat. Definitely one of the best spa experiences I've had. The facilities were first rate & my massage (by Holly) was one of the best I've ever had. I have a lot of neck & shoulder problems & she really helped to relieve these. All of the staff were friendly & approachable. Luckily, the weather was glorious so it was extra special to sit out on the terrace with my glass of prosecco, overlooking the lovely grounds. As a special treat it was well worth the price. Only slight criticism would be the signage as you enter the car park. I went into the wrong building & one of the workers outside said it happens all the time. Didn't spoil my overall experience though. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent stay for my dad who is 94. Friendly helpful staff and super room. Spotlessly clean and huge comfy bed. Lovely outlook to the back. Great meal in the Coast restaurant. Highly recommend to anyone. Will return for sure.

Beautiful hotel friendly staff and great food

Our stay at The Gailes Hotel in Irvine for my niece's wedding was such a wonderful experience. The staff were amazing 👏 and overall, I would give our whole stay a 5* rating. Definitely a 5* for the Reception staff. They went above and beyond the call of duty The rooms could do with the company putting a bit more thought into them. There were no walk in showers available, and for someone who has severe mobility issues this was a disappointment 😒 No fridge available and no USB power points If these issues were rectified, it would get a 5* rating for the hotel

Went for a spa day. The spa and outdoor area are absolutely stunning and the perfect location for a relaxing afternoon. Gracie did my treatments in the spa and she was fantastic. All the staff were lovely.

Brilliant stay. All staff friendly and go above and beyond to help. Treated exceptionally well from the cleaners to the management. Stayed here several times now and has always been brilliant. Would and do highly recommend the gailes to anyone.

Only in for the golf range but the hotel is lovely. Pity they have closed the golf course and more importantly, they had a beautiful little kids course, also closed, bit of a shame.

Food and service were excellent.

The hotel is really lovely and the food and service was wonderful. My only problem was the situation of my room which was on the first floor at the end of the corridor a long way from the lift . As I am disabled this was a disadvantage having to go through 2 fire doors before reaching my room . My wheelchair had to be used every-time I went out as it was too far for me to walk . The rest of my family were on the ground floor which would have been much better for me , as we were all there for my nieces wedding . The wedding was lovely and could not be faulted. But could not understand why myself daughter and granddaughter were on the floor above

Si Spa is one of thee best spa days I have had, so good in fact I have been a number of times without trying anywhere else. The staff are amazing, friendly and attentive at all times. The facilities are never anything but perfect. The treatment rooms and treatments themselves...woooaww! And the afternoon tea or spa lunches that I have had afterwards are always fantastic! If you're looking for total relaxation in top notch facilities then this is you're place. Considering the service, facilities and treatments, the prices are quite reasonable in my opinion!

We went for an overnight stay to the Gailes for my husbands birthday. We were allocated Room 38,which had a nice view of the small wedding pavilion and pond/fountain. The room was very clean and comfortable. King sized bed,tv,tea and coffee facilities,modern bathroom with bath and shower, full wardrobe,iron,hairdryer,2 chairs,a small table,bedside tables,mood lighting,spotlessly. Very nice! There is a lift,but the hotel only has 1 floor anyway. We booked dinner within the hotel at Coast restaurant. Very nice little restaurant with plenty of different table capacities for couples or larger parties. There is a good range of starters,mains,desserts,drinks. We skipped starters,and both had the slow braised steak pie with mash and seasonal veg. This steak pie was heaven on a plate! Packed full of large chunks of tender beef in a rich gravy with lovely golden pastry on top,carrot,turnip,tenderstem broccoli and mash....out of this world in our opinion! We then had lemon meringue pie with poached fruits and drizzled sauce which also had ice cream and whipped cream...my husband had chocolate fudge square,also with ice cream and cream...again,heaven on a plate! We had 2 rum with coke and a lemonade,with a 7% tip I added,our bill was £75....it was a treat,and the food outstanding,so definitely worth it! The staff were all lovely,from the checking in staff to the restaurant staff,to the cleaning ladies. We were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was included in the price. There is a continental range to start,cereal,fruit juice,yoghurt,fresh fruit,pastries etc....then your hot food is cooked to order....again,lots of choice. We opted for the Scottish cooked breakfast (without the haggis,mushrooms and black pudding!)...again,very nicely cooked,everything nice and hot. You have your choice of tea or coffee also. Check out time is 11am. A lovely stay with wonderful food and staff! For snacks etc,we used a nearby Sainsbury's. There is also a B& M store and a Farmfoods. We also did a walk along the harbour,which was lovely,as it was sunny. All in all,an enjoyable stay,and we will definitely return! (Hint for my husband for my birthday!! 😉

Update on another visit to coast restaurant. Very poor this time round, the bread on the prawn cocktail was old and hard and my main must have been a child's portion of steak and ale pie. One piece of beef took me 5 minutes to chew and the cabbage was also difficult to chew. Feel sorry for anyone with weak teeth, Left hungry, won't be back (until the chef comes back from holiday)

Have had a lovely few days at The Gailes. I thought I had ordered afternoon tea online for on our arrival but later discovered that I had not completed the request, but yet the staff arranged it for us without any fuss or bother for them. It was lovely and well presented. Room was spacious and clean. Bed very comfortable and had great night sleep.

I attended a wedding here and stayed overnight. It’s an ok hotel. The location is great but room is not that great. No air con and it was really hot. Nothing special as far as I can see. Staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was good and included in the room rate

I've stayed at this hotel a lot over the last 10 years when working in this area and am very happy with it. The staff are friendly, the rooms are comfortable, there's a nice selection of meals in the restaurant, the gym facilities are good, nice place to stay.

Great place to stay, we enjoyed hiring e-bikes for an afternoon and the spa treatment afterwards. Highly recommended!

Fantastic, lovely clean rooms, meal was amazing, Chris was a great host/manager credit to the company. Only small fault bar service was very slow, took far to long for drinks to arrive at table.

Just attended a funeral tea at the gables what a disgrace 70 people arrived to show their respect staff arrived with luke warm tea and coffee not one person had a tea spoon to stir their drink soup arrived it was very wattery again no salt or pepper on any table buffet was bought in cakes overcooked sausage rolls waited 15 min at bar for someone to turn up was charged 7pds for pint of lager and 4pds for a Fanta orange what a disgrace it would have cost the family hundreds of pounds would never recommend the gables for any function

Lovely spa hotel. Main hotel staff really nice, especially Lorraine Inglis who looked after us at lunch, dinner and breakfast, very friendly, accomodating and made us feel very welcome. Food and cocktails were great! Really recommend. Spa was really nice however would not have enjoyed it had we not booked the twilight experience. When we first visited the spa outwith the twilight experience we were not given robes, also the facility is shared with gym members and there didn't seem to be a maximum capacity, we couldn't use the thermal suite jacuzzi as it was so busy and full, also very noisy, not the most relaxing spa experience. Also, my bad for not checking first, but the spa is outwith the hotel so you have to go outside to get to the spa. The twilight experience was much more relaxed, quiet and limited capacity and we were given robes for this.

Had our family funeral tea here & found the room to be a perfect size for our party and the staff to be very attentive and considerate. Thanks so much.
