The Frying Pan in Kingston upon Hull, City of

I bought 2 fish and chips with mush peas. Cooked while I waited, and took them home to share. We really enjoyed our take away.

The Frying Pan is a nice traditional fish and chip shop. There is an extensive menu apart from fish and chips. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the shop is spotlessly clean. The fish is cooked fresh to order and is very nice. The patties are very light and fluffy with just the right amount of Sage, larger and cheaper than a lot of patties i have had from other shops. These are definitely the best i have had.

My food did not arrive and when I rang although the woman I spoke to was nice I wasn't given any resolution to my food not arriving. Extremely disappointed!

First time ordering from the frying pan an it's was delicious quick an hot delivery and the delivery guy was lovely an polite. The chips were lovely, the fish was huge. Basically it was all amazing 👏

Food is great, Lisa who does the service is always polite and efficient and creates a good atmosphere. Would recommend a visit.

Placed order 3 hours before for a scheduled delivery turned up 45 minutes late spoke with shop women was very rude and had over 100 orders she couldn’t find my order so said it must be out when it finally turned up food was cold and bits warm at best

can understand why it was late as its good friday. hasnt put us off ordering again. fish was beautiful and well worth the money.

Perfect! Considering it was 8pm and most chippys are closed this was hot good sizes nice crispy fish and peas was realy nice taste real creamy can’t describe , must try . Defo be ordering 👌🏽

Missing a bottle of water. Also not impressed that the onion rings aren't made fresh. They are just frozen ones you can buy from any shop.

Only let down was the amount of curry sauce that was sent, wasn't anywhere near enough. The food however was very nice and I will order again.

Used to love this place but tonight it took 1 hour and 45 minutes to deliver to newbridge road after 3 phone calls and being told driver had left 30 minutes ago food came and was luke warm meat pie like a brick.. sorry if I could give minus stars I would😡😡😡

Only ordered from here as the normal place we order from was not taking orders. Glad we did as was better than were we normally go.Thougt the wait time was long but actually turned up earlier than expected.

Ordered 3 fish and chips absolutely spot on and large portions considering we ordered small fish and chips

Chips were rock hard and the sausage batter was very thick.

Food was nice, the Bigfoot sausage especially.nice crispy batter. Chips were a little oily, but not badly so, just a bit messy. Delivery was slightly later than prediction offered, but I was aware of bad traffic, plus it was by only a few minutes, so no problems. Will probably get just the sausage special next time, as it was definitely my favourite part of the order.

Good food again really tasty. Nice bonus was a couple of pots of peas not ordered. Delivery was 5 minutes later than expected delivery time but driver apologetic and 5 minutes neither here nor there. Food was hot and tasty that's all that matters

Chips were best from a chip shop for a long time. Lovely pie, sausage and corned beef fritter. Sides were great. The delivery driver forgot the chip spice that was ordered but a quick call to the shop and they got him to bring it straight round. Overall very pleased

The staff is friendly and asks if you want salt and vinegar without asking. chips are nice also curry sauce, when it comes to the fish it then goes down hill, the fish has the skin still on, the batter is too heavy and wasn't fully cooked through. just holds too much oil - i had to take it off and the skin to eat the fish. then had to get a wipe to get oil off my hands. very disappointed with the fish. would i return unlikely for that reason.

Searched restaurants for "Fish and Chips". Any other place, when ordering "haddock" give chips as standard. I got 3 big Haddocks with not even photo of chips. This is NOT FISH AND CHIPS. Its Fish only. Fish good i must admit.

Probably the worst meal I have had in a long time, food ordered at 16.10 arrived at 17.50, cold, dry, batter like leather, more bits than actual chips. Won't be ordering again I'm afraid

Use this chippy a lot, but very disappointed today, fish wasn’t great so didn’t even eat half of that (didn’t even taste like haddock, it had a very bitter taste to it) didn’t even touch the chips, new member of staff that I haven’t seen in there before, put my fish in the box then filled a tray full of chips and poured them out onto my fish and when they wouldn’t all come out she used her hands to shovel the rest of them out of the tray and squeeze them into my box, when she brought the box across I saw her hands, nails bitten down to nothing and looked dirty!

Usually the food is nice and it’s on time but this time food came stone cold, 20/25 minutes late. The delivery driver was “driving around the street for 15 minutes” but could of just rang? Also have house numbers down my street so don’t get it? 😂

Honestly the best chippy in hull, it is so underrated!! It is always spot on and the portion sizes are unreal! Size of the large sausage is amazing! It's absolutely hugeeee. You definitely get your moneys worth and more in my opinion and its always so tasty! Always recommend this chippy to anyone

Food always piping hot and good quality. Delivery always fast. Only thing I don't like about this place is the mushy peas, they're a nuclear green colour lol so I make me own.

If there was a zero star that would be correct for this place the fish was off stunk really bad would not recommend this place to anyone could not believe how bad it was will be getting reported

This is my fave chippy by far!! The portion sizes are great and always loads for me and my 2 kids no matter what we order.. It's always in time if not early sometimes, delivery driver is always polite and lovely too.. Will always have a customer in me when ever I'm craving chippy

Fish needs longer or oil needs to be hotter as there's always a white layer of batter next to the fish. Fish itself is lovely. Last time I went I tried the chicken NEVER again. It was NOT battered and you could smell the cooking oil on it. Also to me a chicken breast doesn't have bones. This had ribs and a wing attached. Personally best thing is pattie/chips.

Asked for no skin on fish politely but fish came complete with skin.

Fish and chips lovely, I'm abit of a connoisseur with this British speciality. I'm only down in hull working this wk...01-09-21. Chips cooked perfectly, batter on fish nice thin and crispy. Would of given u 5 stars if u had sold some salt. P.s, add a nice slice of lemon with the fish.😀👍

We ordered a delivery last night and chucked nearly all of it away, the fish and sausage were both greasy and not fresh,the fish also had not been skinned and the chips were cold today we have both been vomitting
