We were going here for food tomorrow as we have just arrived and we were getting fish and chips next door my autistic nephew sat on the bench and the owner came out and asked could he help him quite sternly which I thought was extremely rude we come to this area all year round and would definitely not go to this place. I'm quite shocked and upset that it happened I would have thought owning a public house you would be a welcoming person obviously not 🥺🥺

My husband and I walked from the Fishguard Resort along the coastal path to take in the views etc we found one pub the Ship Aground or something but it was shut , we had googled it to ensure opening times but when we got there the sign said open from 3 til 9!!! Their loss as we then went tonthe Freeman's Arms. Welcomed by a lovely gentleman and we followed the covid rules and went to the beer garden one way and there was another exit. Lovely local ale which we thoroughly enjoyed. Would go again, if our legs survive !!!!

We ate here a couple of times. It’s a pleasant pub with a nice garden. The food was ok. Big portions, typical pub grub selection. But really the food is not exciting and seems to be pushed out without much love. I’m probably being unfair because the same could be said of most pubs in North Pembrokeshire. The landlord isn’t grumpy, but he is a bit direct!

Really like this little pub and been to it many times over the years but really disappointed that the grub was not quite as good as we expected it to be for the money. Steak & Ale Pie wasn’t cheap and really lacking in steak with rather too much very salty strong seasoned gravy. It came with fairly ordinary puff pastry on top, and was served with chips but no veg/peas, instead a stale tasting salad garnish.

We were staying in the area and popped in midweek. Met with a very friendly reception from the bar staff and “Owner”. Whilst having a few drinks, the owner made us aware of the promotions on the go. We came back for the Thursday steak night that we both enjoyed. Won’t make any pretentions about our visits to this Inn. First impression, excellent. Chat with host and locals, who this establishment is rightly focused on, same. We thoroughly enjoyed the Thursday steak night, 2 rump steaks, trimmings and bottle of wine for £30. While never having pretentions of Michelin star cuisine, what was served represented fantastic value for money. If you are pretentious, expect your wine served at a precise temperature depending on the vintage and a particular blood count dependant on rare, medium or well done, Avoid!

Then supper, huge selection, Thursday was "steak night" we all had steak which was excellent, good range of starters again very good, we could only manage 2 desserts between 4 but they came with 4 spoons a thoughtful touch! We visited this lovely pub for a meal on a very wet and windy night. When we arrived in the bar the lovely landlady ( I'm soo bad at remembering names ) took my coat to dry it before we left. It is a very dog friendly place, a huge plus in my view, as a great many people these days take their furry family members on holiday with them as we usually do. The food was absolutely great, the service excellent and the ambience great. My husband complimented the landlord on his pint of Guinness which, as hubby is an Irishman, is a huge compliment. We will most definitely be visiting again when next we drive to Ireland, Dinas Cross is only about 5 miles from Fishguard ferry port and is really worth a visit. I cannot praise the owners, the staff and the pub in general highly enough.

We have visited the Freemasons a few times since it has had new owners. On each occasion we have been staying on holiday, nearby with our dog. It is of huge benefit to us that the owners allow well behaved dogs in the lovely big garden and in the bar area. This means that we are likely to visit regularly, as we take our dog everywhere with us, when we are away. We ate in the bar on a previous visit and the food was very nice. During our most recent visit, we called in for drinks on a couple of occasions and were warmly greeted by Mike, Dawn and other locals. They do various food offers during the week, including pie night - two homemade pies for £12, which sounded lovely. They have a television in the bar, incase there is anything you don't want to miss and the restaurant area is nicely decorated and clean, as are the lavatories. Looking forward to visiting when we next come to stay, thank you for making us feel so welcome!

Neither of the pubs in Dinas, nor the Old Sailor's in Pwllgwaelod allow dogs in. We wouldn't bother stepping over the threshold to give landlords like these our business, even without the dog. A local told us that a small dog was seen in the Freemasons but to discriminate when it comes to the size of your dog would be pathetic. The Golden Lion in nearby Newport does a better selection of food and welcomes dogs. It's a bit further to go but at least you're not made to feel like a pariah.

We went on a ladies night out for Tapas and drinks at the recently refurbished Freemasons Arms close to Newport, Pembrokeshire. From the moment we walked through the door we where impressed. It's so cosy. To the right is a snug area with wood fire blazing a bar and lots of quant seating The floors are those beautiful old coloured tiles. To the right is a lovely eating area decked out in tasteful and sympathetic style. We had seen the menu previously and opted for tapas simply because it was fun, different and reasonably priced. Although two ladies did decide to go for salmon as a traditional dish. They loved it and said it was cooked to perfection.. Our tapas was fantastic. We had a varied selection of dishes and there was not one complaint. Congratulations to Mike and his talented cheif. And the wine was spot on. My girlfriend and myself were staying in Dinas Cross and the Freemasons arms came highly recommend. We decided to call in and grab a bite to eat one night and ended up staying for a good three hours. We were welcomed in and fed to bursting point. After eating the perfectly cooked food we stayed for beer and conversation as if we were locals. We were then invited by Norm and Sue to come the following night for the weekly quiz. We had great fun and laughed until it hurt. By the time we came to leave it felt like we had known everyone there for years. We made some great memories with some great characters and can't thank them all enough for such a great weekend. If you are anywhere near Dinas I would highly recommend a visit.

The Freemasons Arms was our introduction to Pubs in Wales. I had been ill for a week since arriving in the UK and had travelled across from London. During that time I had hardly eaten a morsel. Two of Norman’s healing pints of Guinness had me feeling on top of the world and eating a delicious steak and chips prepared by the man himself. We also met the lovely Sue who charmed us with her sense of humour and astounded us with her local knowledge. They are a formidable combination who provide the warmth and atmosphere of the quaint old pub. Norman prepares a very nice meal and intimated that people travel vast distances to imbibe in his Guinness which has the reputation as being the finest in Pembrokeshire if not the whole of the U.K. I can attest to that, having travelled half way around the globe to sink one or two.The name “Freemasons Arms” is the only pub so named in Wales and harks back to the time that local ships Captains who were Masons used the establishment as a meeting place. If you are in the area, do yourself a favour and call in and see Norman and Sue. Have a drink and one of the Pubs great meals. You won't be disappointed

This pub is friendly and warm. As a tourist, I was welcomed into a local establishment. We were able to try some nice brews and we got a bite to eat at the same time. A fireside table and a mantle full of Santa ornaments added to the experience.

The Inn is very well located on The Pembrokeshire coastal path. We were there during our walking holiday for 3 nights. The rooms are big enough and have a spacious bathroom. It’s great to have a drink outside on the terrace after a good walk. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast are great

Found this pub on second night in Tenby and so glad we did. Lovely welcome and service was good. Food was fantastic with generous portions and although place wasn't full there was still a good atmosphere. Will definitely pay a visit next time we visit Tenby
