Visited here with my very picky father and my family (6 in total) I can honestly say the food was delicious! We were seated in the conservatory area it was very bright and airy and the whole place throughout had a lovely vibe. It had outdoor terrace section, a large outdoor seating area with a children's play frame and lots of separate rooms inside to dine so much space and plenty of free parking. The staff were very friendly and attentive and it was very clean! We had camembert to start which was by far the best we have ever had the chutney they served with it was so yum and the sourdough bread was perfect wish we could have had more to be honest but we needed space for our dinner. We all had Sunday roasts, lamb, beef and the chicken. All so beautiful and plentiful we had to ask for a tub to take some of the meat and roast potatoes away with us because we was so full and did not no way want to waste any of it. The parsnips were so tasty and the gravy mmm just all of it I can not say a bad word just wish I could go there more often but we only went during our holiday at Warmwell Holiday park which is only a 5 minute drive away. I loved it but I cant make the 4 hour drive every Sunday to go unfortunately. If I am ever in the area again I will definitely be booking a table for food again 100%!

Visited this lovely pub/restaurant with the family and our 2 dogs last Sunday for a roast. I can honestly say this was absolutely the best roast dinner we have ever had. I had the roast beef ( 3 lovely tender slices) lovely crisp roast potatoes, homemade Yorkshire pudding, Swede , delicious roasted baby carrots and parsnips all served with the most delicious thick homemade gravy. My in laws had the pork and cracking and also reported their meat was delicious and tender. My husband had the nut roast will all the trimmings and he also reports that it was the best roast dinner that he has had in any restaurant. The food was amazing and would definitely recommend this lovely restaurant.

Popped in on the off chance on a sunday lunchtime, they fitted us in at a table in the lounge bar, roast was lovely, partner had Beef and I had Lamb. It was so enjoyable we booked a dinner reservation for the next day. Was very pleased again, partner had a Steak and I a vegetable curry with the added chicken option. Had room for dessert this time and had ice cream and a Salted caramel chocolate brownie. Delicious. Will visit when in the area again.

We booked this pub as short notice as the one we had previously booked did not offer food on a Monday evening. The room was clean and cosy and the ensuite small but functional. We had an undisturbed night's sleep. Supper was excellent and great value for money and breakfast the next morning was freshly cooked and tasty. An excellent last minute decision for an overnight stop.

We went here for a Sunday roast. I phoned beforehand to check they were still doing roasts in the early evening. The waitresses were lovely as was the wine. My husband had the pork, which was nice and crackling lovely, as was the tender stem and carrots. My beef was overcooked and dry, plus the spuds weren’t crispy. The worst thing of all was the Yorkshire puddings. My husband paid extra to have them with his pork. They were almost black- clearly burnt. So we told the waitress and she spoke to the chef. About 10 minutes later another plate of two Yorkshires was bought out and - they were just as burnt. We broke them into bits to try and find any edible bits in the middle, but gave up! It would have been obvious we hadn’t eaten them when the plates were cleared, but we were still charged extra for the ones my husband ordered. We won’t be eating here again!

Visit twice once for just a normal lunch and once for a Sunday roast. Staff superb very friendly, efficient and attentive. Simple things like offering you water as soon as you are sat down makes you feel at ease. The menu choice for lunchtimes are varied and there is something for everyone. Booked Sunday lunch which happened to be Mother’s Day, although busy again the staff were super. The roast was very tasty but I admit maybe I should have had a child’s potion ! Will definitely return on our next visit to the area.

This is a pub located a mile or so from Warmwell Holiday Park. The pub was an absolute delight, upon arrival the decor of the venue is incredibly welcoming and clearly kept in great condition. There was a lovely fire keeping the pub warm & promoted a cosy vibe. We visited on pie night and were not disappointed. The menu was incredibly well priced and the food was clearly fresh & cooked to a very high standard. We did not have to wait long for either our drinks or meal. I was incredibly impressed with the taste of the food as well as the temperature the food was served at. Finally, the staff were incredibly friendly and nothing was too much for them. A great experience.

Four of us visited The Frampton Arms on Monday evening for their curry night. We had a lovely evening. The food was of the usual high standard, the welcome and the ambience were excellent as expected. A consistent and outstanding feature of The Frampton Arms is their staff. Each time we have been, the staff have been warm and engaging, attentive without being intrusive, and efficient and professional. It seems churlish to single out any particular member of staff, but on our most recent visit Becca was an absolute delight. She has a natural charm and a brilliant sense of humour. She kept us smiling and thoroughly entertained throughout the evening. Thank you Becca. We will visit again and have no hesitiation in recommending The Frampton Arms.

On the hotel website and booking.com it says the room comes with a full English/Irish breakfast. When we checked in we were told things had changed so no cooked breakfast just a continental. No explanation, no prior notice or reduction in the room cost. There is a sign on the door saying breakfast was temporarily stopped. When I asked one of the staff the next day I was told the breakfast chef had resigned and the owners weren't replacing him so I don't think that is temporary. The continental breakfast was poor. Just cereals, toast and fruit. No cold meats or cheese. We were using it as a base to sight see around Dorset so a full English was important to us to set us up for the day. If it's important to you don't book.

Refused entry because I am face mask exempt. Legally anyone exempt doesn't have to prove anything and this simply isn't possible. Anyone can access mask exemption lanyards and these don't prove anything.. phone exemption cards are available for anyone and everyone to download on the government website. To be made to feel intimidated into wearing a mask when I have a hidden disability is rediculous. Think about this. Autism is a hidden disability.. and are face mask exempt. If you confront and intimidate a severely autistic person you can do serious mental and phycological damage. Thankful I have breathing difficulties.

They then delivered the menus and to our surprise they had written on one of them all the gluten free options which is amazing as normally we are given a folder and have to work it out for ourselves so this really was amazing!!!!! The whole way through the meal the staff were helpful, friendly and well just truly spectacular!! The food was great and the overall bill was very reasonably priced!! My wife and I spent four midweek nights at the Frampton Arms at the end of July and used it as a base to visit Swanage, Dorchester and Weymouth. Served the purpose splendidly. In fact Dorchester and Weymouth can be easily reached by train from the Moreton station right next door to the pub/hotel. Our room and shower were very good and we were pleasantly surprised to find it had air-conditioning. Because of Covid19 there was no maid service, and there was only table service at the bar and restaurant, but we kept well stocked with teabags and coffee and didn't find this a problem. The food was good, especially breakfast, though the dinner menu was a bit limited. We made an error in not booking for dinner one night, as the restaurant and bar are very popular with those holidaying at nearby campsites and the restaurant was over-subscribed.

Before I get started, I came in both Monday and Tuesday for dinner with my family and furry friends and may I just say how amazing it was! The food was to high quality and good value for money- before the discount! I will definitely be revisiting with my family in the future. Now, the staff. Everyone did a good job and smiles were kept all night. We were greeted by the same girl both nights, Josie I believe her name was? Forgive me if incorrect. She made us feel so very welcome all night on both occasions and made sure we were all happy to her full extent. This is great service to see especially during these tough times of uncertainty, makes the night so much more calming. It’s good to see someone really involved in their customers and keeping on top of everything. She definitely stood out the most, also above the other young waitress who seemed to be doing not a lot most the night in both occasions? However all together, this has definitely been our favourite dining experience yet! Hope to see you all again soon

I recently Went to the Frampton Arms with my family, we had booked a table in advance due to the new eat out scheme, when we arrived We were greeted by a lovely waitress who showed us to are table. The menu had been limited to accommodate for the new scheme but we could completely understand why, even with this limited Menu we had lovely options to pick from. When the waitress came to take our order she apologised for the wait but we could tell they were very busy so it wasn’t an issue. The staff were smiling and trying to keep upbeat despite the incredibly busy evening! We were told the food might take an extra 15 minutes due to how busy they were, and the food was definitely worth the wait. However, what actually shocked us was how some of the other tables were acting and how rude and in some cases aggressive they were being towards the staff, I feel people really need to respect the hard work that is going in to keeping the pub and restaurant going in such trying time’s and be understanding that everyone is trying their best to navigate through things that are new to us all!!

Now granted I accept the current COVID restrictions!Waited 30 mins for a drink order to be taken! Then 20 mins to be shown to table for a pre booked table. Then no drinks order taken when seated; no offer of can I get you anything. Food took for ever to be taken and even longer to arrive. Food was sub standard at best: hard fried eggs, undercooked steak, dry burger and sausages I would let serve to an animal (dry and more gristle than anything) The steak should be medium, try BLUE at most!I can forgive the time especially with current restrictions but no apology or explanation is not acceptable. To make things even worse, the COVID guidelines not being followed were very scary in the end. Staff touching their face with no washing process or sanitising in between orders. I do not proclaim to be an expert in the relevant legislation or laws, but no hand washing or sanitising from staff. No gloves to serve food, no one way system, no screens when tables are less than 10cms apart (less than a foot). Literally if I had lent my head back slightly I would have touched the person behind me. I even watched a staff member rub her face and nose for quite some time and then continue to serve customers and drinks - contamination without a doubt!I even heard the duty manager tell another staff member “what are we going to do Donna just quit” finding out that Donna was the site/general manager - really answers all the above points. Overall such a complete shame, a wonderful little pub with a great look and could be so much more. I would suggest unless you like rude abrupt service that keeps you waiting until they’ve had a chat and caught up with their social life; then still wait another 30 mins on top of that for food that wasn’t suitable to be served in an animal sanctuary - I REALLY REALLY WOULDNT BOTHER!

I am sure their Sunday Roast at lunchtime is good. We were really looking forward to our first restaurant meal since lockdown and ordered their Sunday Roast at 7pm, it was like in the lockdown the chefs had lost the will to cook, the meal that we received was very disappointing.Roast beef and a nut roast was our order but sadly when it arrived it looked as if it had been under a heat lamp since lunch time, the veg was almost unrecognisable, parsnips were so over cooked they snapped, carrots cremated, red cabbage lifeless , Yorkshire puddings crumbled and the mustard had a thick skin over the top.Biggest mistake was settling the bill, we were so shocked by the quality I asked to speak to the manager but again their response was like our meal, not very impressive. Positive rating: THE SERVICE WAS GOOD..

On Sunday myself and family decided to visit The Frampton Arms for a Sunday roast, and ‘Wow’ is about all I can say, Two of us had the chicken and one the beef, and I honestly couldn’t recommend it more! The chicken was seasoned beautifully and the vegetables was cooked to perfection, I know that this is Probably a temporary thing due to the Covid restrictions but I would rather a meal like we had on Sunday than the old carvery any day!! The staff were all very attentive and although we could tell they were just finishing off after a clearly busy lunch service we were very impressed throughout! Have told everyone i have spoken to since to give it a go as soon as possible and we will definitely be back!!

My husband and I stayed at the neighbouring camp site and visited The Frampton Arms on the first night of our stay. We were given a table in the dog friendly area of the restaurant as we had our two dogs with us. We received a very warm welcome and the dogs were showered with attention and treats which they loved!I had the scallops for starters which were cooked to perfection, I could have eaten a lot more of them. Hubby had the mackerel pate, which I managed to sneak a taste of and it was incredibly tasty, so light and yet packed full of flavour.Main course for me was the smoked salmon salad with chive creme fraiche. It was absolutely delicious and very fresh tasting.Hubby had the trio of sausages with mustard mash and bacon and onion gravy, again the taste of which was delicious, with locally sourced ingredients. The staff who served us were all polite, friendly and attentive.Overall, the quality of the food and service we received was superb thank you!

We were seated in a cold room annexed to the main restaurant. One single radiator, not even warm to the touch. Having opted for the carvery, we had to carry our plates (fortunatety they were not very hot!) through another eating area, a bar eating area, another bar eating area (3 deep in people trying to get drinks!) before returing to our table. Nothing short of a route march and, in terms H&S, a nightmare! The beef was so rare that we couldnt cut it, blood all over the plate. I queued at the bar to get some steak knives, but even they wouldn't cut it, we were forced to return the meat uneaten. I complained to five members of staff, and each thanked me sayingthat they would advise the chef!!! Every time I wanted to speak to someone I had to queue at the bar, including paying at the end which took over 15 minutes. This was supposed to be a special occasion for our friends, I was so upset. As a local, I have patronised this establishment for over 50 years and through all manner of changes, never, ever, again! HB

Booked an overnight stay for NYE. Prebooked dinner and received written confirmation from hotel. Unfortunately, discovered at check-in (4pm after travelling all day) that the restaurant was closed and there was no cooked food available, not even in the bar.

Unfortunately I have to say the carvery was one of the worst I’ve had. The meat was tasteless, the leaks in cheese sauce didn’t look like leaks in cheese sauce, if there were any leaks present. The cheese sauce a very peculiar colour. The roast potatoes were hard and chewing and the gravy lacked any flavour and was thick more like a sauce. We were very disappointed and won’t go again

Friends who’d stayed on the nearby caravan site recommended it to me so I decided to go for Sunday lunch. Thankfully I mentioned my intentions to one of the wardens who advised me to book as it’s so busy. Very popular with the locals which is as good a recommendation as you can get. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and after a drink in the very comfortable lounge bar I was shown to a window table in the lovely conservatory. The carvery was great, a choice of three meats - beef, ham and turkey - all beautifully cooked, roast and new potatoes, good choice of vegetables, Yorkshire pud (huge!) plus various sauces including the best onion sauce I’ve ever had. No room for dessert but I had a lovely latte back through in the bar. All in all a great experience and I’d definitely go back.

After a trip to clouds hill this place was recommended to us . We arrived at 2pm it was very busy and the restaurant was fully booked we were told if we could find a table round the bar that would be ok ..we soon had a table and the husband ordered 2 carverys the meat was lovely and a good selection of veg the waitress was helpful we even stayed for dessert our only issue was the table of 4 adults who seemed to let there children run round the area by the toilet and go in and out the door into the courtyard holding it open half the time making it very cold in that area. we will come back but will book so we are not left feeling cold while eating

As staying at the near by campsite, was told by campsite staff about the walk and dog friendly pub 5mins away, so on a very wet and miserable evening visited the Pub, excellent place to visit the food was excellent I had a starter and the hamburger with extra bacon for a main, I could not get over how good this food was, also the staff were very helpful and friendly and even made a fuss of the dog giving her a treat.

10 of us went last night for a few drinks and dinner, we're from the local area. My first visit since the refurbishment. I was disappointed they have got rid of the RAF memorabilia which as an air force veteran I always liked as a tribute to the WW2 airfield that used to be there. The new decor is all a bit boring with little relevance. Beer and gin selection was good.

A lovely mid September day and all I wanted was a pint in a sunny beer garden. The selection of lager in this place is relatively limited. I sense it is more a restaurant than a beer focused pub. The small courtyard was nice but aftrr just 30 mins, at 16:45, the sun disappeared behind a big tree. Unfortunately the alternative wasn’t possible as they only have 4 or 5 tables in the huge sunny garden, all with ‘reserved’ on them.

Stopped here for lunch. Very nice building, must of undergone a refurbishment. Nice surroundings. We received a friendly greeting and seated in the restaurant very quickly. The menu is very limited and we both opted for the carvery. The food was nice and service from the staff was excellent.

I used to live nearby and knew John and Jeanette, previous owners very well. So visiting friends I called for lunch. I had fish and chips. Poor soggy batter and overpriced. The couple on the next table both returned their meals and received a luke warm apology and they had their money refunded, but no real attempt to sort the problem. I doubt if they will return and neither will we. Of the thirty years I used the pub previously John would never have served sub standard food

We are on holiday here for a few days and it is the closest pub. Service was polite but slow. They make a big deal of having an indoor and outside menu! I don’t understand, are there two kitchens which can’t cross over? Our meals were ok, puddings better than mains. Get in before 6 and you won’t struggle for a table.

we have been here before about 3 years ago and the food was great. It now serves ok pub food about the same quality as Wetherspoons. Very disappointed. Also as others have said they did not honour the promised discount from the adjacent campsite as “the food is cheaper than it was”

Carvery was really nice with great selection but the staff were not with it. Me and my boyfriend arrived at around 7.30pm on a sunday and asked at the bar if we could eat in the restaurant which they advised us of course and directed us to the back when we got to the arch to go through we waited by the desk and could see 4 staff standing round a table chatting and 2 of them looked at us and quickly looked away, eventually my other half walked over to them and said can we get a table please and they very slowly checked and took us to a table. We then had a lovely meal but took us 4 attempts and around 20 minutes to grab a member of staffs attention to get the bill and then a further 10 minutes for them to try and find our bill as it hadn't been entered into the system correctly and they were all blaming each other for who hadn't done it. When they eventually brought the bill over they plonked it on the table and said you pay at the bar as they walked off. We were too tired by this point to complain so paid at the bar and left. So lovely food but don't expect a service.

we had a family meal here, some with the carvery which looked and tasted great plus other meals from the menu. All were 1st class and reasonably priced. Also we had breakfast next morning, this again was great with a large choice from the cooked side as well as the cereals etc. Overall it is a 10/10 place to go.

We called in for a breakfast and were treated to a fantastic buffet hot and cold breakfast for £7.99. It was the best value breakfast we have had in a long time. We were staying at the Caravan and Motorhome Club Site five minutes walk away. What a fantastic place to have on your doorstep whilst on holiday. Everything about our cooked breakfast was faultless and the sausages to die for. Well done to the team, we shall always call in when in the area.

The place has received a fantastic overhaul that while much needed has improved everything to a level very often achieved. The staff are pleasant, helpful and efficient, the food has been escalated above good to marvelous and the overall decor has become fantastic, so impressed am I with this establishment I shall definitely be returning before departing my holiday. This is a nice pub we used it a few times during our stay at the local motorhome site. The drinks and food are reasonably priced for the area. The Carvery is good and well priced during week but more expensive on Sundays but still good. Outside seating areas are nice with separate areas for children and adults to sit if you wish. Menu as well varied with a good selection, the turkey stuffing and cranberry sandwich was excellent. Beer choice was ok but nothing special, staff mostly attentive and helpful. Nice and clean toilet facilities as well.

Haven’t been for a long time. Decided to meet some family who were holidaying in the area and was not disappointed. Will definitely be back as food and service was on point. We had mixed grills which were advertised at 24oz and certainly met that with high quality well cooked meats. The chunky chips were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My wife said the lasagne was one of the best she has had. So whilst we haven’t been here for years l, we will be changing that to revisit again soon!

We have recently attended two Sunday carveries under the new management. Our first experience was the trial carvery day and the second was two weeks later. We enjoyed the first carvery (the meat and potatoes being particularly good), but some of the vegetables on that occasion weren't so good. However, our second carvery food experience was markedly better. The turkey, beef and gammon joints were all well-cooked, the meats were succulent and tender and the portions generous. On the second occasion, the vegetables were also well cooked and there was a good selection. The staff are friendly and pleasant, but the ‘front of house’ could be better organised, although to be fair one member of staff said that they were trying different “meet and greet” options on the day. Hopefully this will also improve as experience is gained. After seeing very mixed reviews since the pub changed hands earlier this year, it is great to see a good carvery returning to the village. Give it a try and help support your local pub. We will definitely be back.

By far the best pub in Dorset. We have been coming here for the last 3 years and it never fails! The staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere is cosy and warm and the decor is traditional but well maintained. If you want a cosy pub/restaurant in a quaint English village, you need to try this place. The roast dinners are great too. Huge portions! It includes everything...yorkshire pudding, roasties, stuffing, loads of meat and a wide selection of vegetables with delicious gravy. It all tastes very fresh. The desserts are amazing too. The sticky toffee pudding is to die for!!! We are going again in a couple of weeks for another roast...can't wait! If you dine there over Xmas they do an amazing raclette with pulled pork and crispy chips...delicious and highly recommend! This place is definately one to add to your 'must visit' list :)
