The Frame in Leicester

I’d say this is one of the best restaurants I’ve tried in Leicester. The food is fresh and tastes amazing. As a vegetarian there are lots of options to choose from and I’ll definitely be back! Must haves: corn ribs!!!

Happened upon this place by accident during a rainy Saturday evening walk through the St Martins shopping area... really good no - nonsense Mediterranean food...

First visit to The Frame and we loved it! Excellent food, just the right amount of choice and good service 👍🏼 EDITED TO ADD - visited again with a family party for my husband's 60th birthday. The food was excellent again, the service was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble - we had a fab evening!

Excellent food, great service and lovely decor

Everything is the best in town. Absolutely love the cooking. They've hired the best chefs and bartenders. Just hope that the owners know when to give the staff a raise every year and keep the staffs' passion going on. Or this kind of workload is going to chase off the good employees.

The food here is superb and quality excellent. The Muhammara tasted delicious as did the Adana Kebab. My friend ordered the fish and vegetables and she was very happy with the taste and quality of her dish. Will definately visit this place again.

What an absolute delight. Booked for a friend’s birthday and managed to have a table upstairs. This my first time at the restaurant and what a nice surprise it was. The decor, and service was fantastic and the food was even better. The lad serving us (I believe we were at table 19) was absolutely brilliant. Such a fantastic guy, a credit to the restaurant. I’ll definitely be back! Food is fantastic!!!

I recently celebrated my graduation at The Frame in Leicester, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. From the moment I started planning with Antonio and the team, they made the process so smooth and stress-free. Their attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile really stood out. They were incredibly thoughtful about everything, from the drink options to the flavors of the dishes, and made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. On the night, the atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, and my guests were so impressed by the customer service and the food. The portions were more than generous, and every dish was packed with flavor. The team created such a wonderful vibe, keeping everyone happy, laughing, and well looked after. After a long journey leading up to the event, their kindness and genuine care meant so much to me. They made my graduation feel so special, and the night ended up being even better than I’d imagined. I can’t thank Antonio and the team enough for everything. The Frame is a fantastic place to celebrate any special occasion, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone.

We went for a surprise birthday meal with a friend, it was incredible, staff were very friendly, food was delicious and came out in good time, the place as a whole had a really nice atmosphere. The location is perfect, we sat and had drinks in a nearby bar before our meal, and were able to find more closeby things to do after dinner. Would defo recommend.

Amazing staff who received us in a very kind and friendly way. The music in the background was perfect and also all the decor, just perfect! A big thank you to Addy who always paid attention to any needs and had spoken to us for a little. Appreciate your service and I’m definitely coming back !!

Screaming customers, They used packet microwave rice in a chicken shish dish. They can't season any form of fish and the chips are clearly cooked and then just reheated

Unfortunately had an awful experience here. Atmosphere downstairs is awful. Incredibly loud and did not feel like dining area. The service wasn't great. Starter plates were not taken untill we had finished the mains. The food had potential however all of the mains were cold. 5 were returned and came back just as cold.

Went here for a boozy brunch and could not recommend more. Top food. Top atmosphere and a time to remember.

Food was delicious and great portion sizes. Service was a little slow when it came to getting drinks and clearing the table but food arrived quickly. The restaurant itself had a nice setting but was very cold.

Lovely place! The atmosphere is really good, the lighting and the decoration make you feel very special. The food was absolutely delicious, we tried hummus, muhammara, arancini, chicken shish, lamb kofta and loved them all! The waiters/waitresses are really nice and kind as well. The service was really quick. It was my husband's birthday and they even gifted us a birthday cake which was really thoughtful. Absolutely recommended.

The service and food were outstanding. the whole party of 17 have all said how brilliant the time at the Frame was (we would of just liked to have been able to stay even longer as the vibe was fantastic!)100% the best venue leicester has to offer. Well done The Frame

Amazing food and stunning decor, this is one of them places where you would be willing to pay more! food was beautiful!

The mezze and plate dishes were satisfactory however the grills were terrible. I ordered a spicy cod dish and the fish was over cooked to the point where you could barely cut into it. When asked if the dish was ok and advising them that the fish was dry and tough, the only response I got was wel thank you we appreciate all feedback we’ll let the kit ch en know. No effort to rectify the issue. Would I go again….. probably not.

Beautiful restaurant and some of the best food I’ve had in Leicester, but the portions are on the small side. My favourite was the muhamarra dip, it was so delicious and the pita bread had a lovely smokey flavour it was divine. Only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the couscous served with the cod, it was really mushy and gluey. Think it would have been better with rice or potatoes.

Food was astonishing. In regards to the service and atmosphere, we were placed directly in the path of ingoing ad outgoing customers and the room was incredibly loud, it was impossible to have any conversation. We felt rushed for our orders at the beginning of our meal when they needed the table. Our mains came out before our cocktails and starters were finished. A restaurant of this caliber should be able to pace out coursed meals properly. By the end of the meal we felt ignored as the restaurant was slowing down and it took over 20 minutes for someone to come take our dessert order. All in all what should have been an exciting dining experience for my partner and myself was an extremely disappointing evening.

Best food I’ve had in Leicester in a long time. So delicious. Stand out dishes were the whipped feta, sirloin steak, chicken shish and the corn ribs. Definitely coming back again ! Shout out Sanish for his excellent 5* service !

I came to the bottomless brunch a few weeks ago, and I was absolutely amazed! It’s the first time in a while since I’d gone out - but I have to say the atmosphere was great, Dj Sistren was amazing- she played song requests and got us all up moving - more of this is exactly what is needed in Leicester!

It was my first time dining at the Frame and honestly I am so impressed with everything! The atmosphere and overall aesthetic was stunning! And the food was absolutely fantastic! The waiting staff were incredibly kind and one of them even surprised me with a birthday cake as well which almost made me tear up from happiness, it was the perfect gift to end my birthday evening. Overall I had a wonderful time and will definitely be back again soon! A huge Thank you to the team!

Visited Frame for the first time on 25.9.24. The food was really tasty and our waiter Vlad was very helpful from start to finish. I look forward to returning soon to try some of the other dishes on offer.

Came for dinner as a party of five. Food was nice and reasonably priced. The service however was lacklustre. Sat for 20 minutes without any drinks service and had to ask a passing waiter to take our order. There were 4 members of staffing prepping empty tables but nobody taking orders of full tables. Our starters did not come out at the same time. People had finished their starters before others had even started. The main courses came out before everyone had finished their starters. We then had to ask for fresh cutlery and for our starter plates to be cleared after our main plates had been served. We then weren't asked if we wanted any more drinks for the duration of our meal nor were we asked if we wanted deserts. In fact we didnt get any service until we asked for the bill. The atmosphere was also disappointing. It was so loud in the restaurant it was hard to hear people on our table when talking.

We went here for our anniversary dinner and the overall experience was amazing! Great interior decor, nice and polite staffs. We had to wait for a table but not too long. All the dishes were great - the corn ribs were 10/10

Went some time back but thought I'd give a review. Great food and very reasonable pricing given the portions. Nothing I could fault really. Staff were brilliant and attentive. We're never bothered by our 1 year old and even kept him entertained. Atmosphere is great and decor is spot on. Would recommend.

Amazing restaurant, food and service. Genuinely one of the best restaurants I have been to. Highly recommended. Everything was perfectly delivered and presented. The spiced cod was phenomenal, as was the cheesecake dessert. Service was impeccable. I could not fault this place!

Came here for dinner with the girls. Everything from the starters to mains was enjoyable. The ambience of the place is very nice and cosy with mood lighting. The corn and whipped feta were my favourite from the starters and the lamb shish was delicious and very flavourful. I would come here again.

Staff are incredibly friendly and give a good service. I wouldn't give the food 5 stars as our chicken shish were cold and I thought one piece of my chicken was raw in the middle. The mezzes we ordered were delicious, however. The mains were served to us before we had even finished our starters though. Both bottles of white wine were served to us at room temperature. Other drinks were fine. We ended the evening abruptly, shortly after ordering the second bottle of wine by being asked to drink up as they were closing, this was shortly after 10.30pm which wasn't great. Our table was booked for 8.30pm. The restaurant on the upper floor, although on first impressions, looked lovely, we felt the room was so noisy that we could not hear each other speak. Do we want to return? Probably not, I'm afraid.

Fun and vibrant dining experience went here on a date and the food was very flavourful. I got the steak and the other was able to eat vegan and got the tart. Would recommend for solo and group dining . The hummus from the starter was so fresh

This hidden gem is located on St Martin's square in Leicester. It can easily be missed. There's dinning space outside and inside. The inside space is separated to upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs usually used for celebrations. Decor is simple and it has a warm ambience. Food is Mediterranean. Front of house was very efficient in getting us seated. There was a wait in the waiter asking for our orders and the orders coming out. Food was nicely plated and quite delicious. We had the hummus (divine!)-comes with bread, hallumi steak with beetroot, lamb kofta, spiced cod on a bed of couscous. Portions were small so you will need to order a few plates. The cocktail menu could be improved to have more options. I really enjoyed my time here and I will visit again soon.

I’ve been to the Frame a few times over the last year, and each time they did not disappoint. The food is exceptional, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, and the cocktails are perfect!

Devonté was magnificent as was the food! The octopus and steak were incredible but honestly it’s the whipped feta and pitta that takes the gold.

Went in during the weekend and was served by the lovely Julia. She recommended the Whiskey Sour which was absolutely fabulous. The food was great and lovely atmosphere. Julia really made our night special and will definitely be coming back.

Went on Wednesday evening with a group of 6. We had the set menu and there was sooooo much food. It was all amazing between us we pretty much tried very thing on the menu and the customer service was exceptional. Wish I loved a little closer so I could go move often

Me and my boyfriend went here for our anniversary, and had the best time possible. We were served by Lebron who was a trainee waiter, he was absolutely lovely and gave us the best service. Will definitely be visiting here again :)

Brilliant afternoon with friends

Cozy atmosphere. Staff is amazing makes feel like home. Food is really delicious and the best Martini in the city. Definitely coming back to try desserts.

Interesting and well considered dishes, all cooked well. The cod, corn ribs and muhammara were particularly good. The first floor has a more lively vibe than downstairs, and seemed to attract people getting ready for a night out. Great for a weekend evening. Service was mixed - lots of requests to clear our plates despite us not being finished, but no offer to refill water or offer us more wine. Cocktails were excellent, as was the small bit well considered wine list. Will definitely return

The Frame use to be great, fantastic service, great food with good portions and reasonably priced. This past year it's gone down hill, price increases 25-30%, food portions sizes down considerably, food quality and presentation has declined and service level too. Not a great mother's day lunch for my wife at all.

Took my husband for the first time following a few visits with the girls. He loved it as much as me! Both vegetarian and the choices are great, delicious flavours and a lovely chilled atmosphere. We will definitely be back for another date night.

For anyone who hasn’t been the frame before, I would highly recommend as it’s my favourite restaurant in the city centre.

Brilliant Bottomless Brunch - staff and atmosphere were amazing!

This Frame is everything you could wish for in a restaurant. The ambience was perfect and very romantic, the service was second to none and the staff are simply wonderful. A special thank you to Sanish for his exceptional customer service. The food was a testiment to the chef and i have not stopped thinking about it. The mozzarella arancini balls were the highlight for us crispy and cheesy and the sauce that accompanied it was mouth watering, the calamari was by far the best i have tasted anywhere. The lamb Kofta was flavorful, and the steak was cooked just right and the batata Hara that accompanied it was just as tasteful. This is truly a hidden gem and I will definitely be returning soon!

Lively, popular and we loved the views.

This was my third time at The Frame and it is now a go-to for me. As someone with Celiac Disease and unable to eat gluten, going out to eat can be very difficult. However, The Frame offers so many gluten-free options (I mean almost the entire menu is GF) and they offer GF bread (which is really good!). The staff also ensure you are safe in terms of cross-contamination without making you feel awkward or singled out in front of your group. The food is always amazing and the staff are super attentive and kind. It can get very busy on Friday/Saturday nights so it can be a little loud if you go during a busy time, but that's a good sign for a restaurant. If you want a quieter experience you may want to try it during the week. Overall love The Frame and will definitely be a repeat customer!

Me and my friend went there for my birthday dinner and the service was amazing! The staff were soo lovely and attentive. We went in without a booking on a busy Saturday night but they still managed to get us a table so quickly which we were so grateful for. The ambiance of the restaurant was so lovely, the lights were dimmed and the decor was absolutely gorgeous and breath taking. Me and my friend ordered starters thinking they were mains until we received the food and realised the portions were smaller than expected haha but I must say the food did not disappoint! Me and my friend are also practicing Muslims so we don’t drink alcohol and the bar catered lovely and refreshing alcohol free drinks and they tasted sooo lovely. To finish off the night my friend surprised me with a cake she ordered for me and once we were ready to be we were told the cake was on the house! Honestly I couldn’t recommend this place enough! Especially for special occasions! They also cater to different dietary requirements and the service was absolute chief kisses! Thank you so much to The frame and the whole team for such a special evening!

I recently dined at The Frame and it was unforgettable! The service was warm and fast, making me feel welcome from the start. Each dish served was bursting with flavour, and the stunning design and atmosphere of the restaurant truly elevated the entire dining experience. Highly recommended for an exceptional experience.

Lovely dining experience with impeccable service from our waitress Zara. We had a big table for a birthday and she was very patient and alert when we needed service, as well as keeping an eye out for the birthday cake request. Only downside would be the tough pita bread which seemed to be a common theme on the table. Lovely dining experience

Update January 2024 Revisited with friends and had an excellent meal. You can still either share plates or order starters & mains. I'm pleased to report that the padron peppers were well cooked, and the corn ribs still excellent. We enjoyed all the dishes so it's hard to recommend just one! Good range of wines and cocktails, excellent service. Booking essential. Sleek new opening in St Martin's, which seems to be the place to go at the moment. It's a small but well-formed menu. You can choose to eat tapas style, or you can do a traditional starter/main/dessert style dinner. We chose tapas style, and had plenty of veggie options to choose from. All were well made and finished, with some lovely flavour combinations. The padron peppers could have done with a bit more cooking, which we fed back to the chef. We'd also highly recommend the corn ribs. There's a very interesting cocktail selection. The rose and prosecco combo (can't remember the name) was excellent. It's early days yet, but service was excellent, and it's clearly popular. We'd definitely revisit. Reservations recommended.

We were really looking forward to dining here but unfortunately I think it’s overhyped. Hummus was very nice. But overall the food is expensive for what it is, and pretty small portions especially for the mains which were £16 ish. All the small plates tasted the same (as if universal seasoning is used). Overall experience was underwhelming. Sonrisa round the corner is much better - exceptional service and great food which is worth paying for.

We were a party of 5 and we all enjoyed the excellent food and drinks! The service was amazing and we we very well looked after. It was my first visit and definitely won’t be that last! Would like to see more on the cocktail list as a firm favourite of mine is a Long Island iced tea! Thank you for looking after us so well.

I recently took the team for a meal here and the service was outstanding. Julia was excellent throughout and was always on hand to resolve our issues. In addition my meal was served tepid which l told Julia who immediately apologised and arranged for a new one to be prepared. Also, which was not expected and l requested for it to be added back in, was the item was removed from the bill. The food was good. Not amazing but definitely worth a visit if you haven't been before. The interior is nicely done and a great place to have a meal where you can converse without competing with background noise.

Had a really nice family meal here and would definitely recommend. Food was great, some dishes however did have a large amount of pomegranates which was sometimes over powering. Cocktails were also superb 10/10

Lovely food, lovely staff but terrible service and experience. We were refused entry for over 15 minutes AFTER our table reservation time and made to stand outside in the middle of December, being told it was a fire hazard to let us in. There were a few empty tables inside, and when we were finally allowed in they seated us at a table that had been empty the whole time we were stood outside waiting in the cold. Waitress was very friendly but it took a while to take our drink and food order, and we had to ask 3 different times for some water from 2 different members of staff. The food was actually really nice and I think fairly priced for the quality, despite portions not being huge we were satisfied with what we’d had. Upon paying we put cash on the table and were told they wouldn’t accept it, which was frustrating but not the end of the world. Doubt we’ll go back as I’ve never in my life been made to stand and queue outside a restaurant I’ve booked for, and don’t think the experience is worth it!

She welcomed us with a big smile and made us feel completely relaxed and comfortable. Her knowledge about food was exceptional and her recommendations occurred to be IT. Service alone deserves 10 stars in all honesty. Gurdeep, owner and our waiters were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout. This was a special occasion for us, including our very first visit, and the entire experience was amazing. Food - 10/10 - cant be faulted. We tried a varied menu and everything was sensational - personal favourites were the Calamari, on the bone chicken main and the cheesecake dessert. Drinks were so unusual and tasted amazing! The pomegranate cocktail is highly recommended. Service - Speaks for itself! Great staff, amazing customer attentiveness, and highly professional. 100% would visit again just to have try other items on the menu.
