Lovely old pub, for the size of the food portions fantastic value for money as well! Visited on our way to Wrexham for the football, will definitely visit again if around the Oswestry area

We popped in today for lunch I had liver and onions you could tell it was home made and tasted fantastic apart from a few bits witch had been overdone in the microwave but as size was more than adequate the dog had a extra treat my daughter had cheese and broccoli in cheese sauce be warned loads of garlic in it and very watery so she was not impressed but as usual would not let me complain I will have to show them how to make a proper sauce like my mum did top tip feta turns to liquid when heated still love the pub and wouldn't put me of going again staff very friendly and helpful even bought me a stake knife so I could cut into my liver

I recently visited The Fox in Oswestry and had a truly lovely experience. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is old yet cozy, making it the perfect spot to unwind. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, ensuring that every guest felt special. I particularly enjoyed the IPA, which was perfectly balanced and refreshing. We both had a roast lamb dinner my wife had the small portion and I had a large portion and OMG it was absolutely beautiful. The music added to the ambiance without being overpowering, allowing for easy conversation. Whether you're looking for a place to catch up with friends or enjoy a quiet evening alone, The Fox is the perfect choice. Overall The Fox exceeded my expectations. Ordered bacon , sausage egg,food cold ,very unappealing,left it, place needs refurbishing ,Dirty looking ,

Had lattes but more like plain coffee ,needed more milk,had bacon,sausage ,egg, Bacon not cooked properly thick fatty rind,egg hard and cold,cheap sausage ,staff ok

Called in today and had a meal it was beautiful cooked well and the chips were outstanding

Absolutely fabulous, staff so friendly nothing to much trouble, very dog friendly our lab got spoilt something rotten, food amazing and prices a shock to the system so cheap....yet very high standard. So nice for a young member of staff to be not surely didn't get his name but went beyond his job remit very friendly and nothing to much trouble would definitely go here again. Can't praise this pub and staff enough

Steak pie awesome, chips homemade, huge portion sizes. It's a proper pub, not fancy but if you want good food cooked well.and homemade you'll not find better. (Cooked from fresh so check timings if in a hurry)

A lovely home cooked meal. Be very tasty and plentiful. If we're ever that way again, we'll definitely eat there again.

Went there last Friday for a bite to eat had the double blue burger and my wife had a cheese and onion tostie mine was £8 and my wife's was £6 we both had chips side salad and home made coleslaw the food was beautiful and so was the cold beer to wash it down the pub was lovely and so we're the staff I'd highly recommend it

Sorry but the food and drink were terrible. Far too fatty. I had fish and chips large (2 big pieces of battered fish) but drowning in fat!! The Ale tasted off or something not right with it. It’s a shame because the staff were lovely and accommodating.

What an excellent atmospheric traditional pub. Really friendly and helpful staff and customers. We decided to have traditional pub food. I had lovely liver onions and bacon with mash and mixed vevetables. My friend had jacket potato tuna and salad. Both ample portions for hungry people. We were made so welcome must go again in the future!

Nipped in for a quick drink, then decided To go back for another drink and food, damn good choice. Love Joules beer and pubs and The Fox does not disappoint. It is a proper old style pub with gags of charm and character. Staff were more than friendly and the food was some of the best pub grub we have had in ages. There was a lot of food for what you pay for, the cook did tell me that they don't do small portions. Only downside was that the food was piping hot and had to wait to eat it 😆🙄. Well worth waiting, that is no bad thing. Great atmosphere and music and listening to some of the regulars talking. Brilliant pub🍻👍

The very nice landlord graciously allowed us to take our very wet dog inside where we were welcomed to hot tea and hot chocolate. The chef was on holiday but he even offered that we could buy the food from Gregs and bring it back to his pub to eat it. Very nice gesture and kept us out of the rain today. Thankyou for your hospitality

Food was amazing but service a bit slow. But if you want great value this is the place to go.

A pleasant atmospheric Pub with friendly staff and delicious reasonably priced food. The Cottage pie and veg were served piping hot. The gammon was fresh and perfectly cooked. We had to wait quite a while, but it was worth it to have freshly cooked, delicious hot food. And it s dog friendly with doggie treats for our pet. Well worth a visit

I wad looking for a traditional historic pub, couldn't have asked for better than this pub. Service with a smile,warm and welcoming. The bears were great and the food was lovely. Going back soon

Service was horrendous had to wait an hour and 10 minutes for food. Toast was brought well before breakfast arrived ...very disappointing. No explanation was given.

Stopped here for lunch on our way home from holidaying in Wales, and had a very nice time - the food was delish and very good value - chips were hand cut! Lasagne was made on the premises! Service was very friendly and helpful, the other patrons were also clearly very happy.

Had the all day breakfast hete and it was fantastic. One of us had the mega breakfast and the other one had normal breakfast. Absolutely delicious the ingredients were excellent really tasty produce and the value for money was really really good. Staff very pleasant and service was great. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

By chance stumbled upon this place what a little gem fantastic staff made us feel really welcome they had stopped serving food but took pity on us and cooked us our meal it was simple food but cooked very well very tasty can not recommend this place enough five stars allowed should be more thank you

Some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had and at the low cost of £8. Truly a thing of beauty, I didn’t believe that food could be this cheap and of this quality in this day and age. Takes me back to 2006 in all the best ways. Highly recommended.

What an unexpected pleasure. Service was great food was delicious and lots of it. A large glass of wine wS £4:50 I had the small chicken dinner for £9 . My husband had liver and onions with mash potatoes. Both dishes were delicious and tasty.

Very small but extremely characteristic pub. It is in a building dating back to the end of the 15th - beginning of the 16th century where you can really breathe the air of an English pub. Inside, customers "armed" with guitars take turns playing and singing...obviously "submerged" by rivers of beer

Called in here with my hubby and the dog whilst on our hols , wanted a pint and a spot of lunch we were not disappointed we had the roast of the day which was huge couldn't finish it all and it was gorgeous , staff were extremely friendly and helpful . Also a few locals in who were a good laugh if ever we are here again that will be our go to place thanks for a great lunch and a great atmosphere . 👍

Called in for a late lunch and we definitely chose the best pub. Very friendly bar staff helpful and happy always a bonus. Great choice of beers from the Joules brewery plus others. Food menu offers a roast dinner every day Wednesday to Sunday if I remember correctly. We had a scampi and a double cheeseburger both with fabulous home made perfectly cooked chips, veg and salad too. Easily the best cheeseburger I've had in a pub for a long time. Scampi was a generous portion and very nice too. Unbelievable prices burger £7 scampi around the same. Everything on the menu was good value and from what we saw all looked delicious. After eating we sat in the lovely covered patio area which is clearly equipped for live entertainment. We're definitely going to return to check that out. Great to find a real pub with a great atmosphere.

Brilliant pub. We found ourselves in Oswestry, hungry and outside the Fox and decided to go in. Great decision. Such a friendly pub, great service and exceptional value home made food. One of us is in a wheelchair and the customers were quick to help us in and get settled. If you're looking for a designer pub with lots of books on shelves it's the wrong pub. If you want a pub with a great atmosphere, character, friendly staff, excellent beer and food then your in the right place. We'll certainly be back.

Didn't even go in there but it looked lovely when I walked past

Really gone downhill since the new owner. He's nice, not sure about the staff. Big girl with black hair was swearing when we entered and the music was pop, and it was too loud. What happened to background Motown and soul at a background level. Hope he can talk to the staff about their language, choice and volume of music.

Cracking boozer visited twice on a Saturday, early doors then went to watch a band in the evening friendly bar staff and locals good mix of young and old nice fireplace and low ceilings, wouldn't hesitate to visit next time we are up that way.

Just reopened Good for live music with a large covered in space in the rear which creates a nice atmosphere when there is music on New landlord needs to improve the quality of beer which was not good

Great drinks and friendly service

Have popped in several times over the past year for a quick pint. The staff have always been friendly and the locals are a nice bunch so there's usually someone to get talking to around the bar.

If you want a pint during lock down then you can do here as they are still serving alcohol even though you are not allowed to. Just knock on the door and they will let you in. I have witnessed this countless times walking past. I am sick of selfish people who are willing to put people's lives at risk because they are selfish. I will be ringing the police if I see you do this one more time. You have been warned. I hope you see the error of your ways. If not be prepared for a visit from the police. Selfish tw*ts.

What a great pub and the sandwiches we had were great too. The Old No.6 ale is fantastic and my usual now and the white wine for the other half is perfect too. Great landlord and landlady, friendly staff and a roaring fire on a cold day was just perfect, thanks to you all at The Fox Inn! Definitely has become our local now and what a wonderful listed building it is, full of character especially on the inside and the outside is pretty special too. A lovely beer garden outside will be a great place to relax and enjoy a fantastic drink in spring or summer!
