Horrible overpriced food, staff unpleasant and unhelpful. The dining area was unclean, table sticky, marks all over the floor and walls.

Great pub, lovely food and friendly staff. I can thoroughly recommend the midweek roast, such value for money. Homemade soup pretty good too

The Fox took a very last minute booking for 9 of us under an hour before the kitchen was due to close. We were seated in our own private area with the use of a dart board, pool table & juke box which was a nice touch! Our server was brilliant, super efficient & helpful. There was a huge choice on the menu and a great specials board as well. The food was really good, all meals came out at the same time, were hot and enjoyed by us all. The facilities were all lovely & clean and the whole atmosphere of the pub had a very welcoming vibe (we were 2 hours from our home). We would definately recommend!

Terrible pub had a couple of drinks and very strange guy was just staring at me in a very aggressive manner I was standing at the bar his partner, a lady nodded at me and I nodded back, her partner stared at me in a manner that seemed to imply he was looking for a fight. We had been in there about 4 times before and it was ok. It has a bad reputation and it deserves it. I didn't say anything to the bar staff the guy was clearly a local and was very familiar with the bar staff. If it happens next time I will report them to the local authority and police licensing officers.

Katie B made us feel so welcome and was always at hand if we had any problems, thank you Katie. 3 x Turkey and 1 x Beef Roast, was absolutely delicious and was piping hot, well done chef! Going to try the Breakfast tomorrow mmmmmmm... Great pub and made very welcome.

Great value, and quality, roast. Every Wednesday, in a warm atmosphere. Wood fire adds to the feeling.

We use the Fox Inn regularly and decided its about time we did a review. The meal was very nice, the midweek roast is lovely treat, not a patch on my girlfriends, I wasn't told to say that (honest) but still a very nice and reasonably priced meal and a special mention for today's sever, Katie's great service, thanks.

(We did not book as we had walked past the day before and nowhere on any signs did it say prebooking was necessary). Only 1 table had a notification of being reserved on our arrival so my daughter and I sat at a vacant table and a menu was provided by staff. After around 5 minutes (around 2.25) we were told that a reservation for 9 was coming in at 3pm and there wouldn’t be time to feed us, but we could come back at 4pm. I replied we had walked quite far to get there so we wouldn’t be returning. I found the woman very unprofessional and we were made to feel quite worthless. What kind of establishment doesn’t have time to serve 2 paying customers?

Called for Sunday lunch with family of 5 adults on 8th October. They could fit us in at 12-45. Sat down ordered drinks and 3 lamb and 2 beef dinners, 3 small and 2 medium. When they finally arrived after 50 minutes, the only difference between small and medium was plate size and one roast potatoes. Overall it was a very poor meal, the beef and lamb came as very thin slices with little or no taste at all, gravy like water, very few veg for 5 people. We did complain to the waitress who was very efficient I would not recommend the Sunday lunch to anyone. The Fox needs to vastly improve

Shocking! We arrived at 2pm for our Sunday roast. We was sat at our seat and that's where it went wrong. No menus for at least ten minutes and then was approached by a young lady with our menus in which she said we have been so busy. Even tho restaurants looked half empty. We was there a good 45 mins before they even took our food order which she apologised for. Then we waited another 45 min for our food. Which was ment to be Rib of beef, to me it looked out of the packet. What a waste of money and time to be presented with the worst roast I've ever had. Don't waste your time or money!

Food is really slow to come out, waitied half hour this morning. Also I understand you have to keep a pub clean but the chemicals/products they use are so strong, its awful when trying to eat. Wouldn't go back.

our usual clubhouse was not available so the Fox very kindly let us use their back room. It was very nice with plenty of room and perfect for us. The staff were so friendly and helpful. hope they let us come back soon and I must try some food next time

stumbled across this pub whist driving around the island. This has to be the best roast dinner I have had in years. Tender beef, perfect roast potatoes and parsnips, great Yorkshire pud & lovely veg. Very reasonable price and friendly service. My only criticism would be to serve the wine in a large wine glass rather than a small one. It was a lovely sauvignon it just deserved a better glass. I would highly recommend.

Unfortunately, on the day we visited, the menu was very limited. Seafood unavailable as a main course, and menu consisted mostly of snack type foods, sandwiches. baguettes or jacket potatoes. We settled on the whitebait, but this was from the starter menu and the only seafood that was available. It was very nice, but would have had the seafood platter if it had been available as a main course.

After being let down by other pubs around the island, my friends and I decided to head to the fox for some dinner...without a doubt the best decision we’ve made in a long time!We was greeted upon arrival by welcoming staff who swiftly arranged us a table, we entered their new restaurant which was gorgeous! Their refurb throughout the pub has really brightened up the place. On top of the amazing service the food was to die for...I had a burger which was mouth watering, one of my friends had a seafood platter which again was flawless! My partner and I plus dog had lunch at the Fox Inn today and it was absolutely delicious. I had the lamb tagine, my partner had ham, egg & chips and the dog recommends the sausages! Booked in for Saturday at 10.30 for myself and wife. Filled in the form and ordered. I made my own breakfast and the wife had her vegetarian. I had a pint of strongbow and the better half had tea. Was not disappointed. Great service and super breakfast. Felt very safe, all the precautions are in place. There was a few people coming and going. We have waited four month to return here. It was our last meal out on the night before lockdown and our first meal out. We have do missed this. I highly recommend having a leisurely breakfast with a couple of friends.

Best roast I’ve had for ages! Great food, great staff and great attitude towards dealing with COVID. Would definitely recommend as perfect setting for a nice chilled Sunday roast.

I went to this lovely pub for something to eat and a couple of drinks and was very impressed with the actions these people have taken towards this virus, as you walk in straight away you are reminded to sanitize your hands by the fact they have sanitized stations with tissue dispensers within the pub,there are NHS posters all around, and to top it off you can even buy bottles of sanitizer to take home.Well done to this pub and its staff.

The pub has a quaint old fashioned feel to it, extremely friendly staff. Food was excellent for dinner, well cooked & well presented. Wide selection of drinks available & a very nice atmosphere too. Slightly off the beaten path if you are visiting but well worth seeking it out.

A cosy little, warm pub that provides us with a delicious cooked breakfast every time we visit. Good price, hot food and quick service. The open fire in the winter adds to the whole experience. Nice to be served by friendly, welcoming staff. Rose

Visited The Fox on a Wednesday lunch time with a party of eight. It seemed that every diner was having the special lunch roast. Indeed this was great value for money. There was a option of having a small or large portion. I opted for a small plate and this was ample for an older person. Great Yorkshires and roast potatoes. I couldn't manage a sweet but two of our party had a sweet. Perhaps we will come back for a coffee and a sweet! This lunch was a great improvement on our previous visit but then we didn't have the roast.

My wife and I met up with friends also staying at Waldegraves and enjoyed good food and excellent service at The Fox. Well worth a visit and we will return.

13 of us went for our works night out. We choose the Christmas set menu. Its was amazing food, service was spot on was checked on the right amount of times. The presentation is everything and they got it completely right in every way. It was perfect to come back from our day out enjoy a few drink in a traditional pub to then go through to there beautiful new restaurant.

A group of us stopped here after a walk nearby. The service was friendly and efficient and we all enjoyed our lunches.

Website stated food served until 7pm drove an hour For lunch to be told they stopped serving.Disappointed.
