How we wish that the Fox was in our village! We went because it is a Community Pub and it is a real gem. Great food reasonably priced, local produce and drinks. A rainy bank holiday cheered up by a lovely lunch, thank you. I don’t have a huge appetite so they do smaller portions too, had the 4oz steak with chips, roasted garlic, tomatoes and onion rings, it was delicious . And good company too Ps- mind the step ! We were visiting the area and were warmly welcomed by locals and well as the friendly staff. An excellent choice of food, with personal tweaks which show the chef is putting some thought into it. Nicely cooked, and served with good veg. Water brought to the table without asking. I don't know how long it has been community owned, but I hope it will be a massive success - it deserves to be!

This has to be the best pub in Warwickshire, the food is simply divine, fantastic choice, the chef is very passionate, he clearly uses only fresh foods, this is evident in the taste and flavours, well presented, we are big foodies, and regularly eat out twice a week and the Fox is our new go to restaurant. Well done Chef! Service and drinks were also very good

As the pub had just reopened about 4 weeks ago, decided to pay it a visit. Had Sunday lunch very reasonably priced, a very small menu but very good quality and a good selection of wines and beers. The new pub holds approximately 34 people inside and the same amount in a very nice garden outside. Covid 19 protection was very good with a one way system in place. I would suggest you make a reservation to avoid disappointment but looks as if you could get served if you just arrived on spec.I would recommend you try this place as its a community pub owned by people in the village and around the area.

Husband & I tried it out for Sunday lunch. Roast chicken for me & roast pork for him. Plates were hot,as was the food. Good selection of veg. Husband went for a small plate portion as he was. going to have a dessert. Only difference in portion size was number of roast potatoes (I had 4 , he had 3) & number of roast parsnips . Other veg portions were the same. Both meals were tasty & we enjoyed them. Perhaps the addition of stuffing with the chicken & pork would have been good & very welcome. Pudding was HUGE.Overall good value for money & We will be back. The pub has been renovated very well & the staff are friendly & efficient. It is particularly good to see a community coming together to rescue an otherwise redundant establishment. It was fairly busy when we were there so there was a good atmosphere. There’s also a pleasant outdoor area with tables , chairs etc

Having seen The Fox on the news we decided to pay it a visit. A brilliant choice. The food was superb and reasonably priced. The service was excellent. Very pleasant staff. Highly recommended The chicken wings starter and the cajun chicken main. My wife particularly liked the smaller plate mains which meant she could enjoy a stater and a sweet without being too full after. We worked it out that it is over ten years since our last visit. What a difference. We would like to wish the community all the very best with the venture of running the establishment. Let's hope that it becomes vet popular and it never has to close again. Bravo. 100%

Booked a table for 4. Had a meal last night. Whitebait & hallumi fries for starter. Both very delicious. Mains - hallumi salad (hallumi could of been cooked a bit longer) but the combination of orange & mint was delicious. The beef burgers (adult & children) were very meaty and lots of flavour. The fries were proper fries with skin on & were crisp & fluffy!Desserts were far too big but once again very yummy! Just had a fabulous meal at The Fax, at Loxley, a pub that was bought by the community and is now open. The pub is light, bright and welcoming with tables nicely spaced....hope they can keep them like that. We were served by a delightful young man who was friendly but not overly so. The food was delicious. I had a lovely, hearty leek and potato soup with deliciously warm, two sorts of bread, and then ham, chips and a salad instead of eggs. Seems I got most of a wonderful pig, that certainly didn’t die in vain, and the chips were truly to die for. They were crispy, thick and really light, absolutely perfect. My husband had a wonderful chicken and Stilton pie that he loved, and then we shared an eton mess. If we lived in the area we’d definitely make that pub our local. DO go if you can, it’s truly worth it.

The Fox has recently opened following it being purchased by the community when it faced closure. They saved a gem and have moved it on. The internal makeover has left it everything a good village pub should be, comfortable, authentic and with an ambience that makes you want to settle in for the long haul. Getting a pub right is not an easy thing and my heart generally sinks when I hear the words ‘refurb’ but this is a subtle updating that has added without taking away. The food is pretty special too and this is now firmly on the list of places worth travelling to. Recommended.

we called up on the Sunday morning and were surprised to have availability for 6 adults and 3 children at 1330. I have to say that we have not been made so welcome at a pub for such a long time and with three kids under 5, they offer free snaks for the kids, pigs in blankets and sliced up yokries.....they were fab. Now to the food, we all had beef roast, and we were not disappointed, it was like home cooking at its best....we loved every mouthful....Apparently the chef is an IT consultant during the week and cooks at the pub at the weekend, he should give up his day job if his roast dinners are anything to go by.....well done

This is a very friendly village pub with a good, but basic menu, and we had a really nice lunch here. We decided to go back the following evening (Saturday), however when we arrived at 7.55 pm we were told they did not serve food after 8pm. We were followed into the pub by another couple who were also told they could not have a meal. The excuse was there was a lot of preparation to be done for lunch the next day. We don't think 8pm is overly late for an evening meal and considering the Village is desperate to keep the pub open, maybe a bit more flexiblity is in order

I visited with my husband and two little children last night for dinner. We had two HUGE pizzas - that we couldn't even finish - and beer-battered halluomi worth chips and peas shared between the kids.We couldn't believe our eyes when the food arrived. Massive portions all round! And it got better: every meal was amazing. Despite this, we ended up with a doggy bag on the way home, because eyes were bigger than bellies... The staff were really accommodating with our requests for multiple plates for the kids, and supplied us with crayons and a colouring book when the kids got a bit antsy. The locals were really friendly, too, and didn't bat an eyelid when the toddler started bumbling around the pub.

We had lunch here last Saturday. The waitress was welcoming and efficient, and food was served promptly - but the place was very quiet and lacking in any atmosphere. Some little attentions to detail would help; for instance we were given two pepper mills, and no salt, the menus are stained and the interior is quite gloomy. However, the food was freshly cooked and tasty, and portions were generous. I imagine it is a cheerier place in the evenings, when hopefully someone turns on a few lights. My biggest complaint is that the chair I was sitting on was extremely uncomfortable, but they all looked exactly the same so there seemed little point in mentioning it! We wouldn't go again, really because of the underwhelming décor and atmosphere.

We visited in Sept 2017 and had a great meal but we were told that the pub was changing hands at that time and it seems to have been for the worst. We came for my birthday this year on 22nd Sept (Saturday night) and literally from the moment we walked in it was awful. The only bar maid was having a chat sitting on a bar stool with a client, she completely ignored us until we started hovering. We told her we’d booked a table at which point she went into a total flap because the tables weren’t set and proceeded to ask another waiting staff to set them saying she had been rushed off her feet all afternoon (there was only one other couple in the pub having a drink). Mid way through taking our drinks order she answered the phone and forgot what we had ordered. She told us to sit down and when we asked where she just pointed, we asked again and she took us to a table set up for about 10 people (there were 3 of us). We pointed this out and she said to just sit wherever and never brought our little girl’s drink over. We never got brought menus and had to seek these out. The menu is a bit bizarre and just several sheets of A4 with no real sense to it. I ordered a tuna steak off the grill menu and my husband ordered a steak, our little girl had macaroni off the kids menu. When the food arrived it was seriously below average, my tuna had been cooked dry, my husbands steak was rare (should have been med-rare) with a peppercorn sauce that was just cream and ground pepper, the macaroni was rubbery (microwaved) and arrived without salad which we had to argue for as it said it on the menu but apparently the chef wasn’t aware of this. Throughout the whole evening there was only two other tables having food so they weren’t busy and the service was just awful. The bill arrived wrong- we had been charged for a side salad (aka the kids meal salad that was stated on the menu) and despite my gin and tonic being advertised on the bar blackboard as £5.50 they charged about £7 for it. There was one young lad that seemed to have his head screwed on but the rest of the staff needed a personality transplant- we felt like an inconvenience to them. Will not be returning.

Called for lunch following recommendations. We found the restaurant was an extension to the bar area and the only barrier was was a 1.5 M high partition, this allowed the high level of noise from customers in the bar together with the loud taped music to be conveyed into the restaurant area (which we found annoying). I noted an old raffle ticket, beer mat etc on the floor suggesting the cleaning could be improved. Ordered roast beef which was "chewy" and a small bowl consisting of 4 vegetables, all were warm but not hot. We found it necessary to request salt, pepper, and additional spoons to serve the vegables. We will not return.

On having an Evening meal here I was very disappointed! I was made to feel as though I was being a nuisance. I asked for my vegetables to be placed on a plate and they were taken away and put on cold plate yes COLD! This was not really acceptable by any standards. I then ordered a sticky toffee crumble then after witnessing the waitress talking and laughing she came over and asked if I would like it on a plate! How rude!!! I actually said No don't bother after that comment. My husband had a steak and it arrived on a wooden platter. This maybe "trendy" but having a medium rare steak and cutting on a wooden board is not hygienic and although it's maybe the norm at some places maybe the customer should be asked if they would like it served this way as my husband was not impressed by this.

Lovely airy decor and scrubbed pine tables. We chose to eat in the bar area as we had a dog with us. Prompt service and a menu delivered on a clip board. Quite a good choice of starters but we chose to ignore these. I had the fish and chips and my friends had the prawns and scallops on a skewer. Drinks wise a G&T; for me and a glass of wine for Lee. The only fault I could find was that Doombar was one of the pubs ales. Ha well you cant get everything right.

We're not local, in fact we were only in the area for a sad reason as we'd driven up for an afternoon funeral. Our timing, after we'd battled horrific traffic, meant we were starving so checked on TripAdvisor for somewhere close by to grab lunch. How thrilled were we to have choosen The Fox in Loxely as it was terrific. The staff behind the bar greeted us like their best customers and seemed to delight in making sure we had a comfortable visit. The food was above average for a pub, excellent value, the beer well kept and they pour a good G & T. If this was local to us we'd most certainly return, it looked to be well patronised despite being quite late for Friday lunch. They do a fizzy Friday offer with Champagne at £30 a bottle which I think amazingly VFM, it wasn't really a Champagne day for us but I'm pretty sure it will be for many more over the summer months.

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted and made to feel very much at home. The pub was beautifully decorated, we were seated and given menus. The 2 staff could not have been more accommodating. They tweaked one of the dishes for our Son, which they said was not a problem at all.Our food was very beautifully presented and very tasty. A lovely evening, Thank you for making The Fox Family welcome at The Fox Inn.

We went to the Fox to celebrate my mums birthday. I had heard good things but for some reason had not managed to get myself up there. As an pub and restaurant operator I very rarely leave feedback one way or another on trip advisor as I prefer to tell the management my thought at the time. (we prefer it that way). However on this occasion I feel it is only right to say how great our experience was from start to finish in a public domain as well as telling the owner, Richard on the day. Our server was great. A young lady with dark hair was friendly and casual/ relaxed with our group which was exactly the right approach. She was attentive, always there when we needed more drinks and was really comfortable re-confirming our order once we had confused her with our nonsensical 1st attempt. The food was a bigger highlight. We had a mixture of roasts and a couple tried the conga eel. Everyone enjoyed their meal greatly. I personally had the lamb - I cant remember roast lamb in a pub being this good in a decade. I would only add that you pay for what you get here so don't expect a cheap bill at the end. However the prices are pretty clearly written on the menu so if you can stretch to a little over the average price it is so worth it. Richard - well done. You have created a lovely pub with excellent food.

I went with my partner on Friday 7 April for an evening meal as we were staying at nearby Walton Hall hotel. The pub is lovely with modern decor. Had a lovely ale called Holy Grail. We arrived 15 minutes early with the intention of having a drink at the bar first. The very friendly and helpful staff showed us to our table immediately and it was not a problem we arrived early. I had the prawns pil pil to start and the better half had scallops with pork belly. Both dishes were cooked perfectly and very tasty. Main course for me was pork belly and other half had fish pie. Both portions were large and tasty. We were both so full that we had to skip dessert which is normally unheard of. The food and service was excellent. I would highly recommend this pub. The food is excellent and the staff are attentive. Advice for anyone staying at Walton Hall Hotel is to allow 30 for a taxi as they have to come from nearby Stratford. Taxi fare is not cheap at £18 each way but that is obviously nothing to do with the pub.

Had a late lunch here with the husband. Friendly staff, nicely decorated and it felt homely. The food was really tasty.Had lovely 3 courses. Good selection to choose from. Service was good, not too much delay. If there was any complaint.... (and to be honest, there weren't any problems) it's just a little smidge on the pricey side. Other than that we had a lovely meal and would definitely come back again if we were in the area.

We had popped in to The Fox for a lunch-time meal and were so impressed with the ambiance, quality of food and attention to detail, that my wife and I wondered whether it would be the right venue to organise my mother's 100th Birthday Party. We therefore contacted Richard and Suzanna and met up at The Fox to discuss arrangements. We were so impressed by the attention to the smallest details as well as meeting our requests for putting certain dishes on the day's Menu that I know my mother likes, without her having to choose in advance and spoil the surprise. We were just a part of 9, which, is an ideal number to provide attention and service to all with everyone being able to choose from the menu on the day.The food was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Considering that most people chose different starters, main courses and desserts, the quality and presentation was excellent, and the taste was fully appreciated by all guests. Suzanna deserves a special mention because of the wonderful interior design and soft furnishings which give The Fox a really cosy atmosphere. The Chef and his team are also to be applauded for really good tasty food beautifully presented and served on hot plates. The desserts are to die for!My mother absolutely enjoyed her day, and says she can't stop thinking about it.Once again, thank you to Richard & Suzanna and all the team at The Fox. We will definitely be visiting again.

We were staying in the area to visit Warwick castle. After having problems with our hotel we decided to find a pub for dinner in the local area. The fox inn was lovely- newly, and very nicely decorated. The food was gorgeous and service was fast and friendly. If we are ever back in the area we will be back to this lovely pub!

This restaurant was recommend and having read the reviews booked for Friday night and were very pleased. The dinning area was very busy and the friendly waitress informed us that the meals would be some time. This wasn't a problem my wife and I still enjoy chatting continually whilst sharing a nice bottle of Malbec. The food was outstanding and plentiful, please don't go if you want only a cheap quick meal ( unless you want to take something from behind the bar). There is a varied menu choice beautifully prepared and presented at a reasonable price. The total bill for two courses and wine was £59 ...we will return soon

Visited here for dinner, whilst staying in the area for my birthday. We rang and reserved a table earlier in the day. Quirky little village pub - partly old fashioned but partly really modern. Staff polite and efficient. Could not fault the food one bit! Dessert was equally amazing. Not the cheapest place, but you definitely get what you pay for. Would love to visit again if we are ever back in the area.

We had lunch at the Fox at Loxley. I had not visited before and we arrived on a cold miserable day to a warm welcome from the staff. The decor is clean and modern with a significant nod to the fox theme throughout. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and accommodated my companions modifications from the menu. She had scallops and pork belly, delicious, and I had the duck on stir fried vegetables with hoisin sauce, which too was good. The portions are generous. I finished with a really good pannacotta but my friend was too full to attempt anything other than a coffee. We hadn't met up for a while and we had plenty of space to to have a long lunch and chat without being rushed.I feel bad not knowing the answers regarding wifi and brunch but my defence is that neither came up!Well worth a visit.

Went here with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we chose to visit after seeing the great reviews on here.We received a lovely warm welcome and we loved the decor and atmosphere of the place. The menu is great and varied, not your normal menu you see in pubs.My husband had the fish cake for starters while I had the Welsh rarebit, both were fabulous. For main course, my husband had beef with forestiere sauce and I had lasagne, it was the largest piece of lasagne I have seen and it was delicious, not to mention clearly homemade. My husband had a dessert but I couldn't manage anything else. The wine list offers a good choice at reasonable prices, we had a beautiful bottle of Rioja. We thought the prices here were very reasonable, especially when you consider the service and the quality of the food.Highly recommend this establishment and suggest booking a table as it is popular.Looking forward to returning.

Came in for drinks during a day walk with a rambling group. It looks very nice and tidy with the dining area larger than the drinks area. Laminate flooring throughout so we either removed or covered our boots.I had a chat with the barman who told me it was refurbished three years ago. I looked at the menu and noticed main meals are priced above £12. Desserts are £6.50 with enticing choices. The pub looks attractive from the road.

Lovely little pub but a little pretentious and therefore overpriced for both food & wine. My starter & meal were just OK the pork belly was overcooked and so was the steak as is was a bit to thin. Surprisingly the owner did not offer a slight reduction or complimentary drink or coffee which is the norm. Would not rush back

Fantastic food of high end restaurant standard lovingly served in a friendly clean pub environment. Imaginative choice of menu with something for all tastes. Welcoming landlord, staff and some great beers too ! Slightly expensive, but you get what you pay for. Seemed to be pretty busy, so best to book if you can.

We visited The Fox tonight on the last night night of our three night stay in the area. We shared the fishcake starter with lime mayo and it was perfect and well presented. My husband opted for faggots, mash and mushy pea fritter, again beautifully presented and garnished. I enjoyed one of the best lasagnes I've ever tasted. It was a refreshing change to have a lasagne that was topped with a gorgeous bechemal sauce and it wasnt "sloppy" like so many Italian chain restaurants. Service was perfect with just the right amount of attention. Complements to the friendly team and the chef who is fantastic. We are already planning another visit to The Fox next spring when we visit again.

So pleased we chose to come here for an evening meal. Food and service were superb. Brilliant evening. Richard the landlord is a great guy, so nice to chat to people who seems genuinely interested in you and in the community. Looking forward to going back for a Sunday lunch. Much nicer than many of the "treat" restaurants in the town.

It's been a while since I ate at this gem of a country pub and popped in today for lunch with my wife. Richard greeted us with into this beautifully decorated cosy pub. My stroganoff went down a treat off a menu that is varied and extensive when combined with the daily specials. I often think country pubs let themselves down with their coffee, but not the Fox - A smokey rich coffee from the classic barista coffee machine finished the meal off a treat.

As a family we were on a day out and stopped here for lunch. Beautiful pub from outside in idyllic setting. Decor in pub of a high standard too. Bench seats bit cramped though!! Im not overweight but still found it a tight squeeze to get into . Also once in you are trapped!! Have to move everyone out if you need to go to the toilet. Food and drink were lovely..cant be faulted. However, extremely expensive for what is essentially a pub offering bar meals. A pint of lager and a g&t were £9.10!! Maybe aiming at a high-end clientelle. Village not that big! Would of thought passing trade be there main custom?! Did feel slightly snobby.

Having just called in on the off chance of a table we were delighted with the entire experience. The Sunday roast was outstanding with very generous portions, attentive service and a pleasant atmosphere. The food is not "cheap" but considering the quality and quantity it was decent value for money. Will certainly be returning in the future.

This pub oozes quality from it's outside appearance to the interior, the food, the drinks and the service. The staff were welcoming and provided table service for our drinks. The menu looked very appealing and we weren't disappointed when the food arrived. I had a lamb burger which was one of those meals you don't want to end. Perfect. My husband had the sea bass on a cassoulet of chorizo and beans. He loved it. Apparently the beer was good, he is a real ale drinker and seemed pleased with the selection. The pub was busy but it was still a relaxing dining experience and it was good to see the locals gathering and catching up by the bar. If we lived closer we would definitely become regulars! Thank you for a lovely evening.

A planned visit with friends. We arrived on time and were expected, welcomed and shown to our table with a smile and a reassuring comment that our drink order would taken soon. Whilst the table seating arrangements are not the most accessible, we managed and provided a little humour whilst we manoeuvred to get comfortable. The food, freshly cooked, was well presented on boards. The room was well decorated in the modern style with cheerful hosts. All enjoyed the meal of three courses and each course arrived quickly considering the choices made. This is a little gem of a restaurant that is worth a visit. Not pretentious and a little expensive in comparison to some, but its better than most. A well balanced menu with cheaper options than we had. I would go again and take friends. The chef's and hosts are good at what they do.

We arrived about 1.15 thought the clientele was a bit sparse, but we really felt our presence was valued. Got talking to the bar manager about the beer as he was pulling through a new barrell of Doombar. Tried a sample of Black Sheep, which was very tasty, and were pleasantly surprised to be offered a sample of Doombar, once the new barrell had been pulled through, for our opinion. Nice touch. We ordered salads for lunch, me Coronation Chicken, my companion Caesar Salad. Although pretty pricey, they were terrific for freshness and variety of tastes, not to mention tender chicken. Do try them.

After deciding not to frequent the hotel restaurant at Walton Hall, I visited trip advisor to look for local pubs/restaurants.The Fox Inn popped to the top. We decided to visit adhoc. We were first told there were no tables available, then after being chased through a field (the car park) by Richard, he informed us that he could fit us in.It did not disappoint, I had a cornish mixed seafood to start and my wife had mushrooms in a white wine sauce, both were out of this world. Then followed by a Rib eye steak and my wife had the lasagne, both were plentiful and cooked to perfection.I'd like to thank Richard and the team for a lovely evening.Thank you

The service was good and all the group were happy with their food, with the house specials having quite a kick so good if you like spice. The does take a while to be cooked although they did serve a number of takeaway orders but nice not to be rushed and have time to talk.

The negative reviews and the AI summary do not get this place. This is an innovative chef, with a small team delivering an amazing food experience. I'd rate this restaurant along with Five Fields in London and Astrance in Paris - both small restaurants with small, dedicated teams delivering great food. Of course the portions are small - this is a seven course tasting menu. There are about 28 covers, each served each course at about the same time - within a span of 5 - 10 minutes - very efficiently and with a very friendly attitude. At 120 pounds, the menu is reasonably priced. A good wine list, again at reasonable prices. All the people we chatted with were all very positive, and it was a repeat visit for several of them.

Just enjoyed a lovely afternoon lunch with the family. The service was incredible, we were served by Mary who made our experience simply wonderful, she brought a energy and warmth. We would definitely visit again. I would suggest the review character limit be reduced from 200 as that seems a bit of excessive for a review.
