When we first walked in, I was very impressed, the team that designed the exterior seating area really impressed me, that deserves one star already. Then as we ordered our drinks and sat down, things changed quickly. There was a staff member there, he looked middle aged, but could have passed as a 28/30 year old. Bald guy, beard. He was mocking our youngest disabled son, which I found absolutely shocking. I noticed but didn’t say anything, as I was in shock for a long time. A pub so nice, to have the staff member ruin it for the business is such a let down, somewhere in the chain of command, someone let this guy have a job. He must of been related to the owner or something. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN, better yet, stay away from this pub, such a shame. It had so much potential.

Have eaten here before and was very nice . What has happened ? All of our roasts were barely warm . Roast potatoes barely cooked , veg limited and yorkshire pudding completely flat and failed to rise . I sent mine back but the second meal was worse than the first if that’s is possible . They forgot our drinks . The lemon cheesecake I ordered was not available . The hot choc fudge cake , my daughter had specifically asked if it was served hot came out cold . I spoke to the manager who never offered any explanation for the poor service and food just thanked me for my feedback ? When the bill eventually arrived my meal was removed but quite frankly all the meals were sub par I’ll not be going again

I went to the Fox with my parents for lunch The staff could not do enough for us. They were so helpful, polite and went above board. It was a late lunch so the pub was not busy. The food was good. But due to the staff, I would go there time and time again. Afterwards myself and Mum took a walk on the canal, Dad could not manage our distance so he went for a smaller walk, then took himself back to the pub to await our return. The staff welcomed him back and made sure he had a drink which I am really grateful for. Thank you

Sadly, the food here has really gone downhill over the years. They used to be renowned for their wonderful roasts but the food now is dreadful. Hard potatoes, fatty tough meat and veg with no finesse. Noticeably quiet on a sunny Sunday afternoon. A real shame.

Oh dear this charming little pub by the side of the Grand Union Canal has really lost its way. The bar staff project such a negative vibe that it makes it difficult to engage in banter. Whilst serving they are having conversations with other staff or customers which leaves you feeling you are bothering them. When completing a transaction I just walked away as they showed a total disinterest in customer attention. On the day I visited it was not particularly busy but I was made to feel I was totally anonymous at the bar waiting to order. A simple acknowledgement would be sufficient, instead "who's next?" was barked. If you want to lose customers keep doing what you are doing because you are excelling at that. You need a total rethink on how you engage with customers, make them feel welcomed so you can relieve then from their hard earned cash. Otherwise you will not survive.

I visited The Fox Pub yesterday for lunch with 2 friends. I ordered a burger and chips. When it came it was raw inside so I sent it back. They sent me a second burger which also was raw inside. I asked for a refund which was given but I got a condescending talk from the waitress about how she would have eaten the second burger as it was only a thin line of rawness to the burger and she also suggested three times that next time I should ask for it well done. I found that very rude. Eventually after asking they offered free food on the next trip but I won’t be rushing back. Very disappointing.

We love this pub and really enjoy coming down for some small plates and drinks. On the last visit, the menu has changed and the food now feels very ‘budget’. Lots of things have been swapped for cheap alternatives, for example the big freshly beer battered onion rings have been swapped for cheap frozen alternatives. We also had the prawns, falafel and the chicken bites. All had been substituted to easy, lower cost dishes. A real shame the standards have dropped so much from what was a great selection of food. We felt quite short changed when the food arrived - even one of the staff admitted the food had gone down hill. Really hope this will be fixed as this is usually a lovely pub and will be able to give it the usual 5* next time..

I never write reviews but felt compelled to, in the hope that manager resolves this issue. Came here for lunch on 20 May. Went to order food at 2.15pm and was told the kitchen was not taking orders for 30 mins due to a party they were catering for. Went to order food at 2.45 and was told to come back at 3pm. Went at 3pm and was told to wait another 30 mins before I could order. Was then told the kitchen was closed at 3.45. I was then told it reopened at 4pm so ordered the chicken burger and fish n chips. Wish I hadn't bothered. It was awful, the fish covered in grease, the chicken was tasteless and certainly not worth the 2 hour wait. Spoke to customers at the other booth and they said the head chef had left so there were clearly staffing and logistic issues that none of the bar staff cared to inform other paying and waiting customers about. The other booth of customers even offered to do the washing up if it meant they could get their food! Nice place to drink but not worth paying £30 for poor food, especially in these difficult economic times for folk.

The food is so good, Sunday lunch is my favourite by far. Perfectly cooked food and the veg is fab, not over cooked. My friend had the lamb chops it was huge meal.

A very pleasant pub with a traditional interior, thankfully not "modernised". We both had omlets, which were easy, and came with loads of chips. And the beer was great.

I love this bar. Its not shiny and modern, so wont appeal to all, which is a key part of the charm. It is full of character and that is what is so appealing. As a family we have been coming here
