The Fox & Goose Hotel Bar and Restaurant in Sedgemoor

Went for Mother’s Day meal after visiting there a few months ago and what a mistake that was. Last time we went the service was fab, this time not so much. The waitress gave us part of someone else’s order so both table had to wait for the rest of the meals to arrive, she was rude to my teenage daughter and may as well of thrown her food down. No cauliflower cheese or Yorkshire puddings came out and the lamb was tough and very fatty. Would we return.. simply put, No.

Stunning food in a friendly welcoming pub and restaurant rooms in the hotel are well furnished with exceptionality comfortable beds bathrooms are being upgraded so don't be upset if it's not up to what you hope for try next month Regular stayer would highly recommend Thank you to all staff I can't comment on breakfast as I have to leave before it starts

Excellent food, beer choices were a bit limited, perhaps they were waiting for a delivery. Lovely staff. Campervan stays are welcome. I would suggest you book in advance out of courtesy. Dogs are welcome. Reviews will say about road noise, we didn't think it was that bad.

Wednesday 19th March 2025. Just been for drink. Place cold and uninviting. And worst of all, a customer was allowed to bring his dog, in a basket, and put it on the public bar - within inches of where drinks were being served and people drinking. The dogs owner actually lent over the bar and got the dog a drink. PUBLIC HEALTH WOULD HAVE A FIELD DAY and would probably shut the place down immediately. Will never go there again.

Lovely food, pleasant and friendly staff. We really enjoyed our night and have already booked our next meal. We have a working guide dog, retired guide dog and 2 pet dogs and they were made welcome.

We stayed a 8 min walk away from the fox and goose and came for dinner tonight. Staff were lovely - young lad behind the bar was polite and friendly and an absolutely awesome woman named Janine who we had a good laugh with (even had an invite to the wedding in May). But the food was top notch. Our group ordered, beef burger, BBQ chicken bites, pork sausage pinwheel and the mushroom risotto (which was absolutely incredible, full of flavour and hot). All the plates came out hot, which personally for me is already a win. Can not wait to come back in May for my sister's pre wedding dinner. Thank you.

My boyfriend and I came to the Fox & Goose for a Valentine's Day meal. All the staff were lovely. Each table was decorated for Valentine's Day which was a really nice touch. The meal was incredible. Would definitely come back again.

A lovely welcome and delicious hot food

Wonderful meal here last week, the service was top notch. Very attentive staff and beautiful cooked food, my meat pie was amazing and the mash potato filling was delicious! My only complaint was the lack of heating, but other than that would certainly stop by again!

Room was pretty big and the heating wasn't working. They tried to compensate with an electric radiator in the room but the room was so big that it was pretty ineffective. The corridor was warmer than the room.

Oh my goodness, we love this place for its Sunday Dinner having been 3 times in the last 6 weeks and we are making it our monthly treat. The Sunday dinner at the Fox and Goose is fantastic, the portions are very generous and delicious. The staff here are just wonderful and the restaurant/bar is situated in a lovely Victorian building complete with VR postbox on the side of the building. Free parking on site. Keep up the good work!

Great service, parking good and great location if you are driving. Dog friendly. The lunch menu was limited, the most popular being fish and chips and ham and chips and eggs.

Good food and excellent service with smiles.. Will come again! (Ed) And so we did today - excellent service and food - full marks for consistent quality!

Our 2nd visit to this Inn, very handy place to stay overnight. Big shout out for their amazing Chef, truly very talented! Chicken meat pie was best I've ever tasted! Also a huge thank you to Tanya! who rescued us from the rain by giving us a short lift down the road. All staff really truly welcoming, which unfortunately is rare these days. We will be back👍😀

Had dinner here on monday evening, the food was delicious and great value for money. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the general atmosphere in there was nice. Added bonus for us is it's dog friendly

Popped in for an evening meal, have to say one of the best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Staff although pleasant were pretty useless, long waits to get served and many attempts at getting a glass of red wine at the other table was a sketch out of faulty towers. We were seated near the fireplace but traffic headlights from a road opposite kept blinding us, could have done with a window dressing of sorts. Plenty of parking and a great location just off the M5, but let down by staffing issues.

We stopped for a meal on our way home. It was a busy Saturday but the staff found us a table. The food and service was excellent

I will only review the room we stayed in,this was a family room on the first floor, the disable lift was broken and I would have used this as I have problems with mobility, the room was large and the telly was small and faraway but the think what was really poor was the bathroom/wc broken bath,mouldy , broken floor tiles ,light above sink missing cover and cables visable and the room really stuck of urine.not nice.

Bar was nice and staff are friendly. Room was ground floor opposite the petrol station who's light kept me awake. Too hot to keep the curtains closed. No air con or fan. Road noise was loud. Bed wasn't very comfortable. Might of been because of the heat. Food had stopped by 10pm so got just eat, which was also terrible.

We stay at this hotel , its was very friendly , dog friendly to. The rooms were clean an fresh bar area very nice, staff so very helpful an friendly , we will return again the food was nice . Couldn't fault it .

Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. This hotel is very conveniently located just off the dual carriage way but far enough away that with the double glazing you can still have a quiet night. The building is mixed-age and charmingly quirky as you might expect.

Fantastic roast lunch..wife had pork with stuffing and a generous piece of crackling, I had beef. Both meats were thickly sliced, veg was lovely and the gravy was incredible..great staff lots of parking.

We had our wedding reception here and wow the food, service and accommodation was 1st class. All my guests had nothing but excellent reviews. Would like to say a massive thank you to Rory, Alison and all the staff for making our wedding day perfect.

The restaurant has adequate food at a high price. The live music was awful. No need for a solo singer to use high powered speakers. Can hardly hear yourself think. Spoilt our evening. Too cold to sit outside. No one seemed to enjoy the music.

Large pub on a busy road but open all day. 2 thatchers ciders and 2 real ales on, Butcombe and a local one. Nice enough for a mid afternoon pint.

Lovely place and the food is great

Didn't stay there, we had a very nice meal. Friendly helpful staff. We're flying from Bristol airport in October and will most definitely book a room as it's an early morning flight.

Train. Your. Bar. Staff. The room is immaculate but sitting at the bar whilst a new lad is clumsily asking what’s what and other members of staff training him during bar staff is plainly embarrassing. Poured my lager like a cider, zero head at all. I won’t complain because it’s not his fault…. It’s poor management.

We met up with family for an early evening meal. We chose steaks and a burger, all cooked to perfection, presented nicely, and drinks were averagely priced for a hotel, overall well worth a visit.

We came only for a family meal at the restaurant. The food was delicious . We ordered child portions as well as adult meals and the child portions were just right for a small adult belly! The staff made a mistake as the menu said wellingtons under the child menu. The portions and meals were for adults but we didn’t get charged for that. The service provided by the waitresses for my slightly chaotic family was second to none. Brilliant. They were so patient and always served with a smile! The only thing I will say is that if you park in the front car park on the main Bridgwater road, it’s very scary trying to pull out as the traffic is fast and it’s a restricted view to see the on coming vehicles.

My family and I went for a Sunday roast on Easter Sunday, food was beautiful, service was amazing! Super friendly and helpful. And I would definitely recommend the chocolate cheesecake ;-)

We are here, we didn't stay. The menu was ok, I had a pie it was tasty but a bit small. The menu was incredibly limited for my vegetarian mother. The servers seemed very gloomy, they might need a pay rise.

We came in for a spot of lunch today and the staff were so welcoming. We were a party of 6 with a dog and the staff were wonderful and the pub is dog friendly. The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. We will definitely return next time we are staying near Burnam-on-sea.

Went with friends for lunch on mothering Sunday in the restaurant. We all had the roast dinner which was fantastic. Great food and great service. We will definitely be booking again. Probably the best roast I've had away from home in many years.

Lovely food and staff . Not to far from Bristol Airport.

We were on a long drive back from Cornwall, we took a chance and there was a table, our two little doggies were given a warm welcome and the food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. A little gem of a place we will be back

Stayed overnight after a gig. Great work by Rory and his Team. Excellent bar and food. Great room. Comfortable, tea and biscuits in room. Nice bed and duvets! Bathroom fine. Needs a spruce up but all worked fine. Room nice and warm. There was some road noise but to be honest.. it’s right on the A38 so what do you expect? Would certainly go again and recommend to friends.

We only ate at the pub and did not stay at the hotel. We had lunch - jacket potatoes and ham with egg and chips. The food was great - it was fresh and delicious. Especially the chips - the were superb, just perfect - crisp on the outside and oh so fluffy inside. Definitely the best chips I’ve had in a long time. The prices were also very reasonable for a pub.

We popped in for lunch on the way home from Weston Super Mare, so can't comment on the rooms, but the food was terrific and the service immaculate. So, if you're going that way and feel peckish, give it a go.
