Went for Sunday lunch. Extremely disappointed. Opted for the beef. Two rectangular narrow sliced only, I complained and was informed that was the spec. Roast potatoes were clearly frozen and deep fried contrary to the waitresses assurances they were oven cooked, they did not represent roast potatoes in any way. Some veg burned to a crisp. The waitress did bring me two more slices of beef after I had finished so she was trying to make it better. All in all it was rubbish, I will never return .

Worst ever meal in this establishment, a family dinner for my wife's birthday,the waitress was great, but, the food was not good, ribeye steak was chewy and sinewy, the prawn skewer was abysmal, more like rubber. The food used to be really good here, however, after this evening we won't be going back. The ladies toilets were abysmally dirty.

You send me messages to come down, I come down for breakfast to be told your to busy, it was empty. Not sure if I will return. Maybe you should in ploy more staff

Room and bathroom looked a bit tired and no WiFi. Good location for Kew Gardens and Hampton Court. Free parking at hotel. Evening meals were excellent with great service but breakfast was poor and on second morning no breakfast at all! (Zero staff).

First time at this particular PI and the difference between here and the one up the road (London Twickenham Stadium) are poles apart. There is parking but we turned up around 21:00 and I was lucky to find a spot; the car park does serve the Beefeater next door. The front door is automatic which is handy when you have a lot of bags but the inner doors are manual. We were greeted by a friendly, very helpful and enthusiastic member of staff. Our room was on the first floor (no lift) at the front of the building and although there was a busy main road and a bus stop outside it wasn’t that noisy. The room and bathroom seem bigger and as usual the bed is very comfortable. The wardrobe/ shelving unit is lovely and big, easily fits 4 days of our clothes and four big shelves for all your other bits. In this PI the rooms have A/C and having bus stops outside is an added bonus. Only negative is that the toilets don’t flush very well.

It’s our local and it’s very convenient for us to pop in for a drink unfortunately even after making contact with the company regarding the poor state of chairs nothing has been done about it. You want to think twice before you sits on the chair as all the chairs are peeling off and very disturbing looking. Please an we do something with the chairs!!!!

Popped in as I had 40% off and decided to have the chicken and ribs with some sides. Service was excellent food was decent but nothing special and the bill seemed quite high!

We came for my sisters 40th. It had a lovely atmosphere, not jam-packed but not empty. A nice buzz. The food was good quality and they have a good range of drinks. Hats off to our wonderful waitress, Anna. Very attentive, friendly, and professional. Not just our table, she was constantly on the go, leaving none of her tables neglected.

As fairly regular cutomers we were on this occasion very disappointed with our visit. The service was so slow that we actually left the restaurant without ordering any desserts. We waited at least 20 minutes for drink order to be taken and the about another 30 minutes for them to be brought to the table. We ordered starters and mains at the same time as drinks and the starter arrived just before drinks. The table was not cleared for at least 20 minutes after finishing starter and just before main arrived. After main course we were not approached again until we called the waitress across which was probably about 45 minutes after we finished our meal. We did not then order dessert because of the delay. We mentioned the delay to waitress and she laughed and said it was busy! We have seen it busier and had better service on other occasions. The restaurant manager needs to be more diligent and it may be a good idea to employ more staff. The food on this occasion was very mediocre and not very hot. Presumably it had sat on the hot plate for much longer than it should. Such a disappointing evening. It will be a good while before we try this restaurant again.

Inside the front door is a request for comments by guests regarding their experience at the FOUNTAIN to be posted on TRIPADVISOR, so hear goes'. The outside triangle set aside for parking is untidy and looks unkempt. Entrance at the door one notices the door handles are scaffolding poles on scaffolding fixings. Once inside we waited for someone to greet us, there was no one to be seen, but eventually we were received and asked if we had booked. Yes we had; with a small request for a booth, if possible. This request was not noticed and we were shown to a table in a mid floor position. We declined this offer and found a table that suited us well. Our server was young and eager. She presented the menu cards and left! Almost immediately she returned to ask if we would like to order any drinks. Yes, we would! What bitters are available we asked. Tetley's was the monosyllabic reply. Thanks, we would like two pints please. Waiting, we looked at the menus. A remark about the table being sticky caused some table touching all round and yes, the table could do with a scrub. Another visual inspection showed that the walls near us had been washed with a dirty dish cloth. The greasy remains was evident for all to see. The drinks came and we ordered our choices off the menu. The menu was quite varied with a fair selection and competitively priced. Our conversations covered all manner of small topics one talks about when waiting for the meals to arrive. Not a long wait and we were served. We polished our cutlery, hard. The food was well presented and proportioned for the cost. We tucked in and eventually finished our meals. Reviewing our visit to the FOUNTAIN we all thought that the venue needed a good clean and some time tidying the car park in the front would be beneficial. The service offered by our server was just tolerable. Probably not her fault but she lacked any personal charm and her inexperience was evident, we wondered if she had had any training at all. So to sum up. Average at best, food was as expected and was really Okay. Service mediocre. Surroundings; so much to be done here. A proactive manager would be on top of the issues we noted, but the incumbent is slacking and not fully earning his/her salary.

Easy to book. Usual Beefeater menu. Good quantity of food. Good drinks choice. Efficient waitress. Car park.

We had an extremely nice meal at this establishment last night. Food, drinks and service (shout out to Anna especially who was extremely friendly and a credit to the place) were spot on. I wish all restaurants had staff as engaged and clearly keen to assist with the overall experience as the staff here last night.

Came to celebrate our anniversary. Glad to see Anna was our waitress, she is so efficient & friendly, never forgets anyone. Meal was excellent as usual. Bar served drinks very quickly. Never really had bad service at the Fountain, today was no exception. Meals came quickly, really enjoyed them. Will come back again.

Came here after 6 months break hoping for an improvement, sadly disappointed again, the back garden was all overgrown, it’s the summer holidays, the kids are off school yet they've let the garden completely overgrow. We tried to order food but we were told ‘they no longer serve on the grass due to health and safety’ absolutely ridiculous, this place is an absolute joke and whitbread need to really get a grip on the staff as they seem to do what they like, they’ve got a few rotten apples in the restaurant who have got their relatives also employed working in the bar and they dictate and control if people can be served in the bar or not as clearly they are DESPERATE for their tip. Whitbread make a decision are you a restaurant and pub that serves food ? If yes let your waitress’s know so they can tell the managers as they completely rule the roost at the moment. You are letting good customers go to other lovely welcoming pubs just up the road the Sussex arms, the blutcher all because of pig headed staff that want their tips. The place is run down and depressing the toilets are dirty broken locks, glass on the patio, desperate need of decorating. AVOID

Took my family for a Sunday lunch as the weather was lovely, We went to the fountain as they have a large garden, to my horror the garden was all overgrown & left in a right state. We got drinks & found a table, then when we tried to order food the staff member refused to serve us because we had a table on the grass due to ‘health & safety’ I was shocked as there were loads of empty plates piled hight on other tables. The staff said we could sit on the patio area but we had children & the patio was full of smokers and had no free tables which was why we sat on the grassed area. She said we could order if we collected our own dinner!!! What an outrageous place, I strongly recommend that people avoid going to this terrible pub/ restaurant. Awful staff, dreadful atmosphere, a truly awful experience. Whitbread need to review this restaurant & replace the awful staff / duty managers We love Beefeater but this is truly the worst run restaurant / pub I have ever been too. The hygiene is also disgusting, dirty tables, blocked toilets, overflowing urinals & taps that don’t work.

We had booked a table for 6 on a Monday night to celebrate a family 60th wedding anniversary. We had a confirmation email confirming the booking. We arrived 10 minutes prior to booking and were told there was no table and we’d have to wait indefinitely?? We waiting 30 minutes and I asked to speak to manager to see how much longer. He explained that their booking system allows tables to be booked on both floors but on a Monday night only the ground floor is open as there are no staff. I insisted that a table was found for us so he led us to an empty 2nd floor, no staff and no atmosphere. We were eventually brought food and drinks which the food was overpriced and very little to it especially the main prawn dish which had 4 prawns. On leaving the restaurant I spoke to the manager again who begged me to make a formal complaint as this happens all the time, management are told but still the booking system is not adjusted to the number of tables available on a night. I did make a complaint to whitbread via their website and was basically told they were sorry about 20 times in each email, offered a £20 voucher and that was it. I have asked to be put through to a manager but they refuse and say my complaint has been forwarded to the booking system team??? Please do not book a table for an important occasion - I would hate for anyone else to experience what we did. We have been using this restaurant for 45 years and to be treated as we were. Management obviously do not care and I feel sorry for the duty staff that have to deal with this issue daily.

Anna, you are the reason why we have come back, honestly your service is incredible along with your attention to detail and speedy service, we have come here twice now grated we don’t live in the area but when you find a decent restaurant traveling a bit further really doesn’t matter. Squid and streaks 10/10 for an incredible price to pay to leave on a full stomach, and leaving happy may I add, first visit was a positive and second even better! Love this place!

My wife and I are frequent visitors to the beefeater and are amazed about how bad the bar area has be come. The cleaning is almost non existent with tables not having been cleaned for days. The table we used was very sticky and mucky. The decor was dirty , don’t think it has seen a lick of pain for years. The bar furniture (chairs) were very old, with the plastic covering coming off. The gents toilet had recently been painted but , must have been done by a blind person because there was paint all over pipes that were chrome. The garden had rubbish all over the ground.
