Lovely feel to the bar and serving area which is in the fort itself. The eating area was very big and open and lacking in atmosphere as a result but all the staff were absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful and the Sunday carvery was amazing. So tasty and brilliant value for money.

Myself and my partner ordered food to be taken away. The bar staff were very kind and helpful. Ordered a main each and few sides. The main I had ordered was the fish dish with salad and new potatoes. Upon arriving home found the fish had not been deboned. To the point having to pull the fish apart which made it look a mess on the plate as well as still getting mouthfuls of bones from the fish meat. I do understand there may be an odd bone or two as there is with every fish meal, however for £19 this was an absolute joke. Can’t fault the other food, was very nice, but so gutted with my fish. Very incompetent of the chef/kitchen staff. Such a shame.

I came here with my friend for an evening for some food and drinks. On arrival there was a very lovely barmaid who was more than welcoming and informative. Ten out of ten service from Kiera. Thank you so much for your warm and welcome establishment. Will definitely return again in the future and recommend to friends. Thank you.

Visited for the first time in a year and wow what a huge improvement with new management. The vegan food was outstanding with the staff very knowledgeable about dietary needs. The staff members were polite, friendly and efficient. It was great to see the place busy and we will definitely go back.

Beautiful setting and young waiting on staff were lovely. Shame older staff incompetent, did not reserve our table we booked the night before and were miserable and not at all welcoming. Food okay though.

Visited The Fort Inn for their Sunday carvery. It was very quiet in the restaurant but the weather was glorious (it was at the end of the heatwave), so most guests in the holiday village were probably on the beach! We were very warmly greeted by one of the team who showed us to our table, and we were advised to order drinks at the bar and pay for our carvery, and to then go and get our meals. The barman was really friendly and helpful about their choice of beers and wines. There was no queue at the carvery, and we were served by the chef, who was another really friendly member of the team. We had the choice of beef or gammon (or both - which we both had) and we helped ourselves to roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, carrots and a swede mash, plus a really lovely gravy. The chef is clearly very proud of his cooking, and rightly so. So nice to be able to taste the rosemary that the potatoes were cooked with, plus a decent cheese in the cauliflower cheese, not to mention the red wine that was in the gravy. All in all, it was a delicious meal with excellent and friendly service - so much so that we are going back again this Sunday! Oh, and really good value for money too!!

The horrid music was far too loud outside, never mind inside where we couldn’t converse because of it. Despite reserving a table, we walked out.

We recently visited and ordered cod and chips with a battered sausage and asked for everything to be wrapped together, however it came separate. The order was taken very quickly and almost felt rushed even though there was noone else waiting. Food was nice, but portion was rather small for the cost, both the fish and chips.

It’s okay if nothing else is open. I picked out the dried up chicken that is clearly days old and ate around the mouldy lettuce. As a last resort in helston it’s good if you aren’t fussy.
