The Fork and Tune in Caerphilly

Well where do I start? I pulled up Outside “The Fork and Tune”, my first impression was this is an old Victorian pub in what looks like an old mining village but as I would soon find out it is so much more! I was welcomed by the Lovely Anja, who promptly showed us to our rooms (rooms being a understatement). Our rooms turned out to be what can only be described as a little apartment that would put most major city boutique hotels to shame. The decor was incredible with an eye for detail that is just staggering. The shower rooms are class and tasteful while being completely practical. We had a small kitchen area that had everything you could need for a stay with every utensil available. Now onto the Bed ….. only issue with the bed I can strain to think of, is its just to hard to want to get out of in the morning! No expense has been spared on that mattress. The whole venue is remarkable, from the friendly, welcoming owners, staff & clientele to the incredible venue its self. The outside area gives you views of the Welsh mountains and the bar has a quirky appearance that just keeps giving. If I had to describe The Fork & Tune in one sentence I would say “ Its like someone has picked up the legendary bars of Camden in the 90s (bars that inspired artist like Amy Winehouse, Blur and the legendary dance scene) and dropped one right in the middle of the Welsh countryside. I highly recommend this magical place. If you not only want somewhere to lay your head but also an experience that could just be the surprising highlight of your trip, then check this place out!

Been meaning to come here for a while and I'm glad I finally got around to it. Visited Sunday 18th September 2022 (sorry for taking so long to post!) Food was outstanding, taste sensations, loads of different flavours and unbelievably fresh! Venue is quirky and cool with artwork all over the walls, interesting visuals everywhere Garden is lovely too with a relaxed and chilled atmosphere Staff are friendly and engaging with a peaceful and genuine aura about them. Great atmosphere, AMAZING food! Excellent for a half way house for bikers to go exploring Wales. Anja and vin were amazing and very accommodating. Breakfast was there ready in the morning with a great selection for everyone

Great stylish rooms, food was tasty and freshly prepared. Atmosphere welcoming and relaxed, staff friendly and eager to please. Very comfortable vintage hotel and restaurant.

The fork and tune out is all up in their biker bunks without any problems . Tea coffee toaster etc.. showers and toilets plenty..2 of each and clean and tidy. All the bikes plenty of room all secured in. The beer garden safe and sound.. menu excellent if you can do a subah roast I honestly recommend.. The location makes an excellent base camp..3 great rides..3rd was on top of booked 2 nights.. no one booked in so no bother.. THANK YOU ANJA AND VIN.. fantastic...'' we'll be back. '''

If you’re ever in the close vicinity on this place, do not go past. It’s an amazing pub, hotel and restaurant all in one. The food is amazing, the staff are very helpful and always there for your every need. Stayed at the bunker house as we were touring Wales on motorbikes, and there was no better place for it. We were allowed to store our bikes securely in the garden, which was a massive plus. They also offer the option of storing your !clean mountain bikes in the bunk rooms as well if you’re interested in the trails that are close. Shower rooms and facilities are very very clean and the rooms were just as clean and tidy. Great food, great music, and great pub. Everything is reasonably priced and you’ll have a great time here no matter the purpose of your visit. 10/10 would recommend and would visit again!

Wow! This place is out of town, but you need to visit. I had the jerk chicken Sunday lunch and it was outstanding. Perfect for the summer. The vibe is totally chilled; service staff and the owners Chiska & Anja. So nice and highly recommended.

I went to the Fork and Tune with my family for a Sunday Roast and we were all blown away by the quality of the food and the service given. For a pub in the valleys, it felt like we were in a trendy place in Bristol or London. The pub looks fantastic and all of the people who work there are super friendly. Couldn’t rate this place highly enough.

Been going to the fork and tune for a few weeks generally on a Sunday. The staff always give us a warm welcome. Amazing food there especially the vegan and vegetarian options the beetroot and Stilton Wellington is delicious by the way! Vinny the chef always checks that we were happy with the food which a nice touch and they have a great selection of beers ! Can't praise them enough they've got a great team there. see you soon !

Just go straight for those gastro burgers DONT skip the desserts ALL HOMEMADE and wonderful staff. Friday night is a LIVE music treat where dining guests go free. Also lovely accommodation

We went to our favourite place for Sunday lunch, the menu was amazing as usual. We opted for the Jamaican jerk chicken, rice with mango puree, roast potatos, spicy gravy and slaw. What a taste sensation, it was incredible!!!! Cocktails were amazing as always. Desert was a hot vegan chocolate & raisin brownie with cream & chocolate sauce. Can't wait to book again soon and for the sunshine to have some cocktails.in the festival garden..

My husband and I have been here twice now and on both occasions the food and customer service has been fantastic. We have been so impressed with the food that we've decided to make it our regular. As vegans we often eat out and the options are limited and bland, certainly not we can say for this place. The food is clearly cooked with passion and is oozes flavour. The chef is so accommodating. If you are a vegan this place is a MUST! The staff are lovely, friendly and create a warm and welcoming environment for all. Highly recommend.
