Had a lovely Sunday Roast here today to celebrate Mother's Day, It was our first visit to this traditional local pub and we wouldn't hesitate to return. We had a delicious meal and were made to feel very welcome by the landlady Karen and barmaid Emily. We will definitely be back and will recommend to family and friends.

My wife and I along with another couple stopped by the Forresters Arms for a mid-walk drink which turned into a longer lunch. From the moment we entered the pub to when we left, it was a great experience with excellent food, wine and great service from the staff. Sharing baked camembert was very good and our mains of slow-cooked beef and the pork belly went down very well along with the Malbec. Thoroughly recommend to anyone passing by or simply looking for a fabulous pub.

Recently Met up with friends for a meal on a Saturday evening. Due to current covid restrictions it is only possible to sit outside but that didn't spoil things at all. It was easy to reserve an outside Table and the food and service were excellent. Very good cod & chips with mushy peas & tartar sauce, Huge piece of fish and the chips were excellent. All washed down with a very nice pint of Guinness. Others with me had Pork Belly, Pie of the day & the Homemade House Burger. All of which looked really good. The food was very well cooked and the portion sizes generous plus all very reasonably priced too. The Forresters seems like a very nice pub with really friendly staff, excellent service & good food. I'd definitely go again. Highly recommended.

We went to the Forresters arms today for lunch ,all I can say was it was amazing and one of the best lunches I have ever had. We had the crayfish salad, Nachos , King prawn pasta and wing of Skate . Everything was freshly cooked and home Made from scratch using the best high quality ingredients. The taste was out of this world and better quality of any London restaurants. Andrew the head chef has come from the Ritz London and brought his unique style with him to this cosy country pub. The pub is very family friendly , has a livery selection of wines , beers and ales . The waiting / bar staff are so friendly and welcoming and nothing is to much trouble . They also offer a take away service Fri- Sunday ( including Sunday roast) A little gem and we will be returning soon .

We're in lockdown and it's difficult finding places to get good food from. The Forester's Arms has started to do collection and take away on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch. I took my dad and mother in law to the Forrester's Arms this Sunday, and then was joined by other family members as a surprise, the staff made it so easy to accommodate them at our table which could have been a problem, as the country pub was so busy, well , we stayed there for far longer than we anticipated !!! The food was delicious, the service was spot on, it was really lovely to spend time with family, without doing the cooking. I actually feel that I would go back every Sunday as it was 5* service, and affordable. This pub has to be the best kept secret EVER !!!

We were trying to find a new pub for a drink and decided to try here. Upon arrival were greeted by a large group of lads outside smoking, shouting and just being a nuisance - I could have ignored it but they were friends with the bar staff. Went to sit in the garden to ge away from them but it's just a strip of grass at the back of the car park with no atmosphere whatsoever. Beer is poor - I mean come on it's 2019, what about the guest ales, craft beers etc. I'll try everything once - tried this once - never going back.

Myself and a friend popped in this lovely pub for a spot of brunch. As i am an annoying vegan it is usually hard to find somewhere to eat! Not this time, although their menu had nothing vegan, the landlady and chef bent over backwards to provide me with one of the best cooked breakfast i've had out.

Visited her 6 weeks ago after a long gap of maybe 5 years. It was a sunday lunch time so I ordered a roast beef with all the trimmings. Ordered a decent pint as well.My roast dinner arrived within 15mins, plenty of nicely prepared beef, nicely cooked and was not thinly cut as often is at other pubs for Sunday lunch. Lovely baked potatoes, and the vegetables arrived in there own seperate dish, and they are plentiful and very tasty too. Also a gravy boat plenty filled of nice gravy.Visited again 3 weeks later on a Sunday lunch time, ordered the same and got the same identical nicely cooked roast dinner.Excellent value for money.I would certainly recommend this pub for food, and its feel of being a 'village pub'. Top Marks to them!!

Firstly I take exception to being included on this site (I am the landlord by the way!) I do not class this venue as a restaurant.it is a pub that offers plain modestly priced food. We are one of the few true village pubs left in the area and we strive to offer a warm welcome to all. Clickey? Grubby? then I suggest you go to an establishment that meets your higher expectations.Thank you Christina Morgan...........whoever you are for a more well founded and factual appraisal.

The barmaid/landlady didnt even crack a smile of welcome as we crossed the threshold. OK, sometimes that happens but you carry on. I wish we hadnt. The whole establishment is grubby and the its definitely a place where you need to be a regular to be welcomed. It was verging on the hostile - as if two strangers had ridden into town and were greeted with suspicion and silence when they walk into the saloon.Pub's just shouldnt be like this - how this one survives I dont know.We didnt stop for some food.

I have no idea how good or bad Cov's Pie and Mash is, because they decided to cancel their catering booking for my friend's event at 10pm the day before, to go to the Euros final instead. They had booked and paid for pie and mash for 40 people, so Covs had offered to arrange a back-up plan, but had again let my friend down when the driver supposedly had a flat tyre and couldn't make it to the event. Covs did refund my friend (when prompted), but they had to scramble to arrange back-up options for the party, whilst also hosting the party. My friend had also arranged signage for the party which advertised Covs' social media, and ordered specific bowls and plates that Covs had told them to order - so even though Covs had refunded the order, they were still out of pocket. For all I know, the food may be lovely, but the lack of professionalism and customer service shown by Covs was disgraceful. Avoid using them for any sort of catering or delivery service.

We popped into 8 Rocks for breakfast after a Parkrun. We are pleased we did. The place was clean, staff clearing tables quickly after customers had left and were very friendly and attentive without being overbearing or making us feel rushed. The menu was expansive - we had eggs royale and a salt beef bagel - both of which were lovely. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

RestoBistro is Epping’s best kept secret, nestled at the southern end of the high street. The food is absolutely delicious, all homemade. An independent restaurant with extremely high standards. The chef and management put on various special themed nights which are always fantastic. I particularly like the Sunday Roasts which are the best for miles around.
