This has a great beer garden. The food is excellent. All the staff were so friendly and made you very welcome. At the moment they have a TV in the garden for all the footie fans, very nice touch. Dog friendly pub aswell. Would strongly recommend.

Having come from a deadful experience at a pub around the corner my friend and I called in for a drink. We were met with a very warm welcome from the Landlady and also the regular customers that were at the bar. We had already eaten but the food looked fabulous and we will be back to eat in the near future. Cosy pub, log fire and friendly people - how a pub should be .

My partner, myself and sister called in early evening for a quick tipple and thought we would treat ourselves to one of their home made pizza's and we were not disappointed. Having just visited Italy and tried a few samples of pizza there, we must say, these were just as tasty with the right consistency of crust and amazing toppings. We even ordered a couple to takeaway! I can highly recommend and also on a Tuesday evening, they have some fabulous offers on pizza :-) It was lovely to be greeted by the smiling face of Sophie, glad to see you are back in the trade again, you will be a great asset to this establishment :-)

Visited on spec for a late Sunday lunch after watching the cricket at Ebernoe and was swiftly shown a table and the menu supplied and drinks order taken. Both Ana and I went for a starter and then the Sunday lunch options of a Roast Beef and a Roast Pork. Portions are very generous and both of us struggled at the end but could not waste the meltingly tender meats and cooked to perfection vegetables. Sweets were definitely refused but the meal ended with a choccy each. Service was impeccable, efficient and friendly.

Not the warmest of welcomes in truth, which for me always sets the tone for a visit. First impressions really count. And so a cheery "Hi how are you?" Can make such a difference. And you would think most establishments are eager to get new faces and bums on seats and cash through the till. However the service did improve and the food was good.

I came for lunch to catch up with a friend, and we had booked ahead. I was warmly greeted by the Landlady, who was wearing the correct PPE. We were sat at our table and had our drinks orders taken in good time. The same good level of service could be seen with other customers in the restaurant. We placed our food order and continued to enjoy the environment. We both ordered the Cajun chicken burger, one with a few changes, of which was no issue. The food came quickly and was delicious. Again, the landlady came to check on us during our meal and replenished our drinks. Really outstanding service, a wonderfully friendly team and very tasty food. It was also very reassuring to see the corona virus guidelines being followed, which made me feel safe and happy during my visit. 10/10 would recommend.

We had a wonderful lunch at The Foresters Arms the other day with my family, nice and sunny so we took advantage of the gardens! Sat out the front to eat then moved to the back garden for a drink. The staff were so lovely, friendly and welcoming and the pub was clearly following great COVID-19 procedures and precautions so we felt very safe. The food was fantastic and they had a wide range of drinks - soft and alcoholic. We will definitely be returning!😁

I don’t want to tell too many people about this lovely quaint pub, right in the heart of this beautiful village, just because I want to ensure there’s a table left for me on our next visit! We’d pre-booked our table which followed a 6k circular walk taking in the untouched countryside surrounding Kirdford. (A must for all keen walkers). It was a very welcome relief to end our walk just a few hundred yards from the pub. The service and set up post lockdown is brilliant, very well organised and felt very safe both in the garden and through the pub itself. The staff are all really friendly and welcoming and the food was perfect. If you’re in the area, want to find a quiet pub, maybe it’s your first time out and you want to test the waters post quarantine, then this is the pub for you. And enjoy a pre or post pint walk around the village too. We will definitely be back!

Lovely locals, who gave us a friendly greeting. A shame the staff and landlady couldnt do the same!! Went there for my birthday dinner with 3 friends, wish we had spent the extra 5 quid a head and gone to the half moon down the road. Stood by the bar for 10 mins waiting for someone to acknowledge we were there, by acknowledgement i mean something other than the nasty glare we got from the landlady the 8 times she walked past us behind the bar. Eventually i said, hello, can we get a drink? To her back, Yeh in a minute. Was the answer. Not. Hello. Asked if there was a table for 4,yeh,was the answer. Stood for another 10 mins, looking at empty tables in restaurant. Asked again, if they had a table for us. Yes was the answer again. So eventually asked if we might go and sit down. Umm ok. Was answer. All this time we were wondering what we had done to offend.got a glass of most disgusting pino for £10!! Probably cost £3 a bottle. Followed landlady through, even though she wasn't showing us through, but serving someone else drinks. Saw a table, asked if we could sit at it, she waved dismissal at us and again, yeh. Didnt even look at us or smile. Menu was from the 80s. Pie with mash, fish and chips . Prawn cocktails etc .. But not cheap. Quickly put jackets and scarf back on as like sitting in a freezer. The log burner sat unlit. Everyone else in there also wearing coats while eating. Eventually ordered, grudgingly as didnt really want to spend that kind of money there, especially for such basic food. It came and was perfectly nice but stone cold in a few minutes, due to the room. And it being winter with no heating in a very old building. Wanted pudding but really wanted to leave the horrible hostile atmosphere, actually felt like crying at this point. For the first time EVER i didn't leave a tip. Sorry, but need to do a lot better. Birthday dinner ruined.

I don't often write reviews but felt that I just had to write a little thank you to the bar staff and locals at The Foresters for being so friendly and making us feel so welcome! We did only eat once and just went for nachos and a side of chips - I know! :O - But was delicious all the same and would highly recommend. Went to the Foresters for lunch and when we arrived (at 12.45pm) the place was empty! Not a good sign but we had eaten there before so decided to get a table and order lunch. Our drinks were brought quite quickly and we read through the menu to make our selection and then we waited. Considering we were their only customers I expected more attentive service. Eventually our order was taken and the starters arrived after a reasonable wait and they were quite acceptable. Quite a long time after finishing these starters they were cleared away and we waited for our main course. In the mean time a family of five arrived and were seated and then another couple, so this at least meant there was a little more of an atmosphere in the place. After another wait our main courses came. Well to say mine was bland was an understatement. The fish cakes were large and flattened so that there was little contents between the heavy overcooked coating and what was there was tasteless. The only thing on the plate that had any flavour was the balsamic dressing on the salad leaves! My husbands fish was a little better and he did say the chips were lovely. We finished our meal and waited for our plates to be cleared and maybe the offer of the pudding menu, but this did not happen. After waiting more than 25 minutes we gave up, put on our coats and went to the bar to pay. I had to shout through to the other bar to get the waitresses attention to get the bill, as she was paying no attention what so ever to the restaurant. Well all I can say is that was a waste of £50 and we will not be returning any when in the near future. Sorry Foresters but you have gone down hill considerably.

Bizarrely no one else was in the cafe and the upstairs service where we were seated was almost unfriendly and you felt you were in the way. My wife’s aunt and cousin enthused about this pub so we decided to have lunch with them on a Thursday in November. The pub is signposted from the main road and is down a narrow lane to Chidham with passing places at intervals. The car park at the back is not so large so many visitors seem to park in the village. Virtually every table was taken which is always a good sign for mid week dining. The four of us had a variety off of dishes and my seafood tagliatelle was delicious. We were very impressed with the speed of service from the two lovely ladies and lively atmosphere of the pub. The portions are quite large so if you have a smaller appetite we would recommend their small portion menu. My wife’s cousin recommended the mussels which were not on the menu the day we visited so we must return to try them. A very enjoyable lunch catching up with old friends too.
