Very nice restaurant in the garden centre. Nice warm welcome. Good food, especially the ploughman's lunch. Well worth a visit.

This was a really lovely place to eat as well as shop!! The restaurant has absolutely lovely seating with fairy lights and beautiful foliage as decoration!! It's a great place to take somebody that you love or for a lovely catch up with an old friend!! Really easy to get to and plenty of parking outside! The shop is really lovely as well and has some great gifts!! I also managed to get two blueberry plants which I've been looking for for a while!! Brilliant visit!!

Just been today to celebrate a baby shower and had the afternoon tea , there was so much food and it was all very delicious. The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is so welcoming

What a lovely little hidden gem. Just thought it was a garden centre but was told about the restaurant inside. I had the pancakes for breakfast, and they did not disappoint. they were huge and I didn't manage to finish them. I will be going back as the other breakfast items look so yummy. 😋

Delicious food, massive choice even at breakfast/brunch time. Plenty of seating, relaxed vibe and staff are really friendly and accommodating. Food was plentiful and very well priced. Cute little garden centre to browse after! Will definitely return and would recommend.

Ohhh wow! This place was delicious, full of atmosphere, great service and the food, was fantastic. Me and my partner came for my birthday brunch, had a black forest hot chocolate and a gingerbread latte off the specials, aswell as biscoff french toast and berry french toast, on which both I highly recommend. They were made swiftly, came out quick and tasted immaculate! Highly recommend.

Brunch with friends. Good selection on the menu. Bit of a wait but to be fair they were extremely busy and they did tell us before hand that there would be. Good coffee and all enjoyed the food. Will be back. Book

Fantastic service and food despite being busy! We had the Biscoff pancakes and the full English and it was incredibly tasty and a big portion! Best breakfast we’ve had for a while (definitely recommend the pancakes!!)

Thank you to the Forest restaurant team. We hadn't made a booking but they were super accommodating and managed to find us a space. The food was really good and the service was quick. Couldn't complain. Will certainly be coming back.

First time at the Forest Restaurant, celebrating a birthday, and I absolutely loved it. I had a vegan breakfast, very good quality, and lots on the plate. Plenty of choice on the menu.

Lovely place for a Sunday lunch. Food was delicious and plenty of it. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Just had Christmas meal for the 3rd year at the Foresters. Delicious starters, mains & puddings were enjoyed by both of us. Highly recommend, cannot wait to try the breakfasts another day.

Lovely little place but the wait for food was painfully slow. The menu options for anyone with dietary restrictions are incredibly limited. The alternatives are to swap in defrosted gf bread, which is poor. The food was OK, and kids menu was good value. But £17.50 for a small fish, less than 10 chips and some questionable mushy peas is not good. And £5 for a hot chocolate 🤯 Wouldn't recommend.

Ordered tea & toast for 2 waited 20 minutes for tea & warm bread. To credit the young lady serving us, she took it away, and it came back toasted. Lovely setting and was very busy.

What a great little place, decor is just right, super friendly staff. Only went for coffee on this occasion but will re visit for food.

Fabulous place, both the quality and amount of food was spectacular. The decor is great, as can be seen on the photos on the 'net. Recommend the ploughman's if that's your bag, but don't make the mistake of thinking you can manage a 'sharer' on your own. The single is more than enough! My wife had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, it looked lovely. Staff were friendly despite a very busy Tuesday lunchtime. We were travelling from Birmingham to Nottingham and travelled out of our way to get there, and were not disappointed.

Visited here for the first time today. Was for my neices 30th celebration lunch. Service was quite slow especially the food. Other tables arrived around us and menus given but we had to ask for menus after 20 min of being seated and to order drinks. Upon finally ordering requested the quiche on the specials menu to be told that flavour wasn't available. Quite poor considering it was only 12.45 hrs?? Then food was very lengthy coming. We had a table for 9. 7 orders came out first then the remaining 2 orders 15 min later meaning we didn't all eat together. I asked for the £17 service charge be removed. Won't be in a rush to return. Far better places locally :(

The service was really slow. Our table was booked for 10.30 and we were not served with our food until after 11.15am. We asked to be served. The restaurant was busy but not excessively so. The food was good. No apologies for delay.

First time here actually the restaurant is in a garden centre. Food took so long and was disappointed with the sweet corn hash.

I had the Ploughman’s which is the best one l have ever had and would well recommend it.

A wonderful café/restaurant, with a good varied menu 😋 something for everyone and all cooked fresh with a twist.

The service was initially a bit slow, but once we had placed our order the drinks and food came promptly. The food is not cheap (the bacon & egg sandwich pictured is £8) but it is very tasty, and value for money.

Six of us all had a lovely birthday lunch for my daughter today. We all enjoyed good food (plenty to choose from) and received great service by the lovely Hannah. Would definitely recommend 👌 and we will be returning.

Returned for the 4th time today and cannot fault the customer service from all the staff is excellent. The food is very tasty with a good choice for different times of the day. They also allow well behaved dog's in too, and provided them with a water bowl, a nice little touch. Would 100% recommend this restaurant 👌

Lovely place and fresh food served hot

I booked a table online, and arrived at the time of booking. I was told we were late, and after some juggling on their behalf was seated. It was not nice to be made to feel that I was in the wrong when the email was clear of the booking. It then took 25 minutes to even com and take a drinks order after having to chase. The annoying thing was, that tables seated after us were ordering and getting food. Food was lovely, but I won't be in a rush to return.

Busy place, booking is essential. Staff great and food really good. Dogs welcome too.

A great little restaurant in a garden centre.

This place just cannot cook lovely runny poached eggs! I’ve ordered items from the menu which have poached eggs as part of the dish and both times the eggs have been hard, really spoiled the meals. Plus the prices are ridiculously high! Also today there was a really miserable staff member on the till, no smiles just abrupt. I know people can have bad days but, in a public facing role, you need to put your best customer service face on.

Food was lovely. We opted for pizza and skin on fries. Not a very busy night so service was fast.

So my second visit here. After being impressed during first visit, unfortunately my second visit was disappointing. The service was very slow. We were seated on time but had a long wait before anyone took our drinks order, at our request. And then another long delay before taking our menu choices. My food choice was not great. Scampi overcooked and chips tasted of oil and tartar sauce had a strange taste too. It was also difficult to attract anyone's attention when we noticed an item missing from someone's plate. Sadly I'll be leaving it a little time before returning.

Bottomless brunch, not worth the money at all. You have 90 minutes from your first drinks order, which is acceptable. Except it took 25minutes to get a drink each time. The service was extremely poor. Table not set fully, dirty napkins, had to continually ask for items that had been ordered, so took more out of your time. If you wanted a tea/coffee instead of alcohol, you were charged extra for this!!

Update to reply. You lied you certainly never told me i needed to book. Avoid untrustworthy. I called ahead to inquire about breakfast timings and was informed that breakfast was available all day. Excitedly, I mentioned I'd be there in about 40 minutes, to which the lady on the phone responded positively. However, upon arrival, I was abruptly told that there were no walk-ins allowed and was offered only a takeaway option at an exorbitant price of £15. This lack of communication and unreasonable pricing left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. I politely declined and will not be returning or recommending this establishment.

Brilliant eatery, a hidden gem, out the way of Ventura shopping hustle and bustle, menu changes aren’t too frequent and options are a plenty, quality of food is outstanding and the staff are exemplary, don’t skip on this place, well worth a visit

We visited for Mother’s Day lunch, we had pre booked the 2pm sitting. Upon arrival, there was a large que through the shop and no one was shown to their table until gone 2.30pm. It then took a while for our order to be placed and for the food to arrive. The food was ok - but the roasts were over seasoned (very peppery) and the turkey was dry. Our Mother’s Day experience last year was fantastic, but I think they became greedy this year and crammed too much in - such a shame!

Absolute shambles for a mothers day meal. Disgusting attitude from staff, then insulting customers. Even when no food had been served, after sitting for an hour, most tables were sat waiting too. No refunds issued, instead staff/management were standoffish and completely incompetent. Mothers day ruined for many many people. Shameful

Me and my husband love this place. We go for breakfast. The pancake stack full English is fantastic. The service is alway wonderful. They are all so helpful and happy.

A very pleasant surprise to dine here, plenty of menu choices for all tastes, all six of us happy with our meals. The staff seemed a little stretched and the car park could be bigger, although it was Sunday lunch time. Would definitely return.

Family get-together for Brunch. On the plus side the food once it arrived was very good. However, there was an over long wait for it to arrive. The prices are a bit high too.

Great little restaurant hidden inside a garden centre. Very aesthetically pleasing, lots of wood and decorated with coffee bean burlap sacks. I have been for brunch twice, first time was great, I had shakshuka, it was served in a skillet and really warm and tasty. The eggs on top had been friend and placed on top instead of being baked or poached into the mix, though. The second time I visited I had a full English, it looked delicious and definitely had great quality sausages and bacon, unfortunately by the time it was served, it was only luke warm, not sure if this is due to different components being cooked at different times. Don't get me wrong, it was still tasty and everything was definitely cooked properly. Give the place a ago, they have a great little menu.

The All Day Breakfast Pancakes were divine! We arrived at 1pm without a booking and it was rather busy but we managed to get a seat in the conservatory which was a little chilly but blankets were available and the quick serving of drinks soon warmed us up. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the menu has a good variety. The food was just gorgeous, eggs cooked to perfection, really good quality meat and generous portion sizes 🍳 🥓

Gorgeous food, well presented and good portion sizes. The service was very friendly and efficient. Not a massive menu, but still a decent selection of food. The ambience is informal, rustic, and stylish, but no music. Overall a nice place to go for a quiet meal (have a lovely walk around the garden centre after) xx

I went with some friends for a catch-up over brunch and we all had really lovely food the service by Hannah was brilliant and we will definitely be returning - I highly recommend this beautiful location with something on the menu to meet everyone’s tastes

I’ve been a few times before but this is the first time with my Rottweiler, a breed not many people like.. I have to say the staff were great with her, cuddles & fusses from multiple staff, she got given a sausage and a water bowl before we even sat down. Definitely dog friendly - thank you! We had breakfast and the food was fab as always. Well done to all the team.

Had a lovely brunch at the Forest. Served by Cara, who was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. Lovely atmosphere however lost a star as the conservatory where we sat was quite cold and I had to eat with my coat on. Thanks for a lovely brunch!

Was busy when we visited. Took a long to for orders to be taken.I had bacon and egg muffin. Bacon was hard and over cooked. Cream tea not great. All in all not worth the prices. When waitress asked she did take some money off. Shame because a lovely place

Delightful place for coffee or light meals, pleasant surroundings with good service. Quality of food excellent. Went recently and whilst breakfast was still excellent I begrudge being charged extra for sour dough toast when offers as one of a choice option to white or brown.

Visit here regularly for lunch and breakfast. Food has always been good and service very pleasant. Today we decided to go for Sunday Lunch as we had heard it’s the best ! Oh dear very disappointing. At £22 for a trio of meats that was very sparse and nothing special on my plate . And just about warm . I can’t tell you how disappointed we was . Such a shame as normally the food is good. Don’t think we will return for a Sunday dinner again . Far too expensive for what it was .

Came to the forest rest this morning for some breakfast and we really enjoyed it! Atmosphere was great food is delicious and the staff couldn’t have done enough! Huge shout out to Amy extremely accommodating and couldn’t have done enough for us! We will be back Thank you so much everyone at the forest :)

High standard prices for much lower standard food. Nicely decorated. The person who I believe is the manager (blonde hair, heavily tattooed) was extremely rude, hostile, abrupt and appeared to lack all customer service skills. Very unprofessional. She was speaking to people in such a rude manner. If she wasn’t moaning she was tutting and sighing at people. She was even complaining about other customers who were still in the restaurant in front of other customers. Just before we left she was stood outside the kitchen , which is directly opposite the restaurant, ( still half full) very loudly announcing to all the other staff “We are done, thank god there’s no more people coming. I can’t deal with any more people”. This wasn’t said as a joke she was deadly serious and looked very inconvenienced. Even if that’s how you feel, keep it to yourself because this was also extremely unprofessional. All the customers were looking across the room at each other in utter disbelief. I’ve spoken to other’s about our first visit to this restaurant this evening and they knew exactly who I was talking about. Unfortunately, I don’t think it was just a bad day. You don’t pay money to be spoken to like that or made to feel like an inconvenience and unwelcome. Other staff were polite. Won’t be returning again.

We were advised to pay a visit after hearing that the owners had purchased the 50’s diner so we went for a late breakfast this morning. It’s nice idea for a small restaurant tucked away inside the garden centre. Food was lovely as we the service, however we did feel a little claustrophobic tucked away without any windows, but that didn’t distract from the quality of the food, cleanliness or service. There are also dairy free alternatives which is a bonus.

Fantastic little gem of a restaurant. Loads of choices breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, cake selection. Dog friendly & wheelchair accessible. Staff are fantastic & your always greeted with a warm welcome & smile. Onsite parking free of charge. 5***** Great independant restaurant with lots of choice.

Really nice place tucked away inside the garden centre. Food was fine, however the service was a bit too attentive which sounds fussy but three people asked to take our drink order in 2 minutes and it felt like we were being rushed. Would return though!

It was our first meal at the forest restaurant and although the meal was satisfactory the surrounds made us feel we were sitting in our garden shed, don't agree with allowing dogs amongst diners whom don't take a dog, food and drinks came to £25 a tad over the top.

First visit to The Forest Restaurant and was very surprised by the layout and the very friendly staff. Although we were just passing, we will visit again. Highly recommended.

What a gem 💎 Loved the decor, the whole cosy natural vibes🌲🌳🌿 Absolutely Loved the delicious food and fantastic attentive staff 😇 The Vegetarian options and were 👌mwah!, I had the Nut Roast. And the food was the Best i have had for a long time!. I just wish we could've remembered to capture our desserts which were simply gorgeous!. I had Biscoff Bread & Butter pudding and ice cream, my hubby and friend had Sticky toffee pudding n custard which got a big thumbs up👍👍my other dear friend also had raspberry Frangipane and ice cream, delightful😋. Thank you for a fantastic birthday Sunday lunch! We will be back very soon!.

My partner had the steak and eggs, which he enjoyed but could have done with less garlic potatoes. My quiche was tasty but could have been thicker.

OK, so not knowing we had to book as its our 1st time coming to the restaurant, asking for a table for 2 to just be told "we don't have a table as we don't accept walk ins" was a bit of a frosty reception if I'm honest - it was a dark haired girl with tattoos. So, as myself and my wife were walking around, I decided to see if I could book a table through the website. I did for 2pm (20mins later than when we were rudely turned away). I get that it may well be your policy to not accept walk ins but we could have been advised of this in a more polite and professional manner. 2pm arrived and we were greeted by another member of staff (a smiley girl with a nose piercing). From this point is where our opinion changed for the better!!! The food was amazing and plentiful. The waitress that took our food order (Georgia I believe her name was) was amazing!! Polite friendly and really engaging!! This is how it should be done. Had we not been greeted by the first girl, it would have been 5 stars all round. This, however, will not put us off coming again!! Thanks to the girls that made our visit not a wasted one (we were recommended this restaurant by friends of my wife) and to Georgia....the sticky toffee pudding did not disappoint!

Beautiful restaurant, nice and relaxed atmosphere. Food was incredible, really filling portion sizes. The new American pancakes- full English breakfast is incredible. Also lovely staff, our server Hannah was super lovely. Cant wait to visit again.
