Fabulous Sunday Roast dinner today at the Royal Oak, kings Bromley, massive dinner with every veg you could think off, very tasty, yummy

Lovely pub, very friendly staff, great beer garden and very dog friendly inside and out. Food wise We only had a pizza but it was really nice and all the food coming out looked really good. They do meal deals on certain nights, pie night, pizza night, steak night and fish n chip night, will definitely return and recommend.

Food was freshly cooked, very hot and tasty. Big portions. Will definitely go again.

We stopped here after a walk in the Peak District. Hubby had the sea bass and I had a small battered cod and chips. Very nice. Did feel a bit like being on hols. They have an outside bar with sofa and tables under a Hugh tent with music. Good vibes.

Called in today and we had beautiful meals. This is such a lovely pub meals.are great value for money. Pie was delicious, and the hunters chicken was the best I have had. We will be back thank you.

Precooked table waiting as requested. Food satisfying, service top dollar, drinks were wet and cold. Spot on.

Both not been here for a few years, so decided to go after a disappointing experience earlier, and a good decision it was. Great place, great food, excellent choice on menu, and overall a great night after such a disappointing start. Well done Royal Oak, we will be back soon.

Lovely place only popped in for a drink but very busy

An absolutely brilliant pub! I’m a creature of habit and I always have either a halloumi burger or a margarita pizza, which is always amazing! Today I had the chicken burger and Jon made it exactly how I like it, he even asked what I would like. The service from all the staff is always incredible, I appreciate all the help given to make my experience the best it can be, at every time I visit

Good beer and if you can tie the friendly bar manager down you can have a laugh. Great lad but hyperactive, never stops moving. Sadly I found out today that he has left for greater things. Beer still good (I didn't eat) and the friendliness of the pub still great but I can't put my finger on it that there is a certain little livelyness missing.

Great local pub. Enjoyed many a nice beer, good selection of cask ales and continental lagers. Food is very good pub grub, the pizzas are to die for. Prices are fair, especially for the quality of the food. Staff are all very friendly and attentive, always able to answer any questions we had. Would highly recommend.

Stumbled upon the Royal Oak by luck, and glad i did, i had a lovely beef roast, it was the best roast i have had in a long time, the staff were very friendly and polite, the pub had a very warm and friendly atmosphere, i left completely full, and its very reasonably priced, i highly recommend the Royal Oak if your in the area.

Food is very average, not somewhere I would choose to go and eat. Chips aren't nice at all

Food very nice, service incredibly poor, staff chatting amongst themselves, had to ask someone take our order, no courtesy check, only 3 tables of diners, just not acceptable, won't be returning

We came for a family meal with 6 adults and 3 children. Staff were very friendly and answered all the questions asked about the menu. The food was really good. The things that let this pub down was the service time. It just took ages for food to arrive at the table and a couple of the dishes came out wrong (incorrect side and wrong sauce base on the pizza). Since talking to friends who have been before this seems to be a similar story about the long waiting times for food to arrive. Perhaps we just caught it on a busy day but that doesn't change my experience.

Friendly, accommodating staff, good food & beer, one of the best options in the Lichfield area. I come to Lichfield often to see my elderly mother. She is fixed in her ways, opinionated, and her social filters are off. I am not a lot better. The staff here just smile and look after us. I suspect they actually *train* new staff! Beer is good, always a couple of real ales to choose from. The pots of tea are also very nice, mum loves them. There is a good selection of food and it is generally a step up from average pub fayre. It's my go-to place for lunch with mum. I was sorely tempted to give a poor review, just to stop more people turning up, as I really rely on getting a table here! ;-)

The food was lovely as usual, however our server was more interested in talking to her colleague instead of being attentive to her tables. Had to go towards the bar to get her attention on numerous occasions.

Popped in after visiting The National Aboretum beer was very well kept and we had a Ploughman's lunch all good staff friendly and all areas kept clean

Today stopped for lunch never stopped for food before ordered roast chicken and fish waited over an hour for food when it came the roast meal was completely cold my husband fish over cooked it was dark brown battle he had too dig the fish out if it wasn't down too the fact I needed too take medication I would have sent it all back another table ordered after us and waited over an hour too

My friend and I called in for a coffee as they serve iron and fire coffee which is the best I've ever had. It was served in a large cup, and a perfect cappuccino. Service was really good, efficient and friendly. We returned the following week as we enjoyed sitting on the sofa with a lovely coffee having a catch up.

Having been many times in recent times,I booked for 4 people on Sunday 27th Feb 2022. We all had Sunday Lunch. The meal was presented well, but was warm not hot, the vegetable selection was sparse compared to previous times. Service appeared slow, we were on Table 17 on the upper level, perhaps out of sight. When we finally able to order sweets, we ordered 3, we waited but eventually my Husband went to enquire, the sweets were then delivered almost immediately. Unfortunately the 2 sticky toffee puddings were not up to usual standards, and the creme brûlée was not served properly, it had just been pulled out of the fridge.This meal was a treat for Our 40th wedding anniversary, and it turned out very disappointing.I wondered if the pub had changed ownership, or were they absent on Sunday.

OK - nothing special - lacks charm n ambience of other nearby pubs

I have driven past this pub for a number of years, but finally visited on a Saturday morning to meet up with an old colleague. Easy parking and a friendly welcome. Some nice beers on tap and a good selection of food, from light bites to meals. Both food and drinks were reasonably priced. Very pleasant and I will be returning. Totally recommend the Royal Oak.

Brilliant food 1st time there staff incredible will go again

We attended last week. The food and service were both amazing. Today, we returned for lunch specifically to have the calamari and Blue wild pizza, typically made with blue cheese. The service was slow, considering it wasn't busy. The calamari was excellent, however, the pizza is NO LONGER BLUE CHEESE! It was covered in melted yellow cheese. There was a slight hint of blue cheese on ONE PIECE... FUNNY, Steven, from last week, said the NEW chef was going to change it to a 4 cheese pizza. We asked him not to and mentioned it on our review on another site. We told our waiter also. He didn't care! LISTEN to your customers DON'T fix what isn't broken! Thank you for your response. The chef certainly did change the pizza. I'm sorry Steven and the other staff neglected to provide our feedback last week! Please see my review on Trip Advisor. Apparently, even Steven's mother told the new chef not to make it a 4 cheese pizza. .. I would be happy to chat with you in person...

Dog friendly pub, stopped for lunch good food and nice wine, husband was a little disappointed with his beer.

Lovely Sunday Roast good quality food at a reasonable price. Staff very attentive and helpful. The only thing I would say that needs improvement is the selection of deserts! They could do with old fashioned puddings such as crumple or pie, bread and butter pudding etc. The only things available are very chocolate based apart from sticky toffee pudding but that is usually sold out! Showing the need for a good pudding choice . I would still recommend the roasts though and especially the Pork..

First time at the Royal Oak and have wondered for many years what it was like, as I have passed it many many times over the years as I don't live near by. Really good food and the staff here are first class.

Very nice & cozy place, tasty & fresh food BUT they probably have the slowest service I ever experienced! One day I came with my husband and it took them about 40mins to serve the food, the day after we popped in with friends and for group of 5 people it took them 1hr 10 mins to serve the food. Both times they were not too busy. Also when we came we were waiting about 10mins to get the menus and only were given after I've asked them to bring it. Same thing was when we finished our meals no one was coming to bring the bill so I had to find the waitresses to ask for one. This place definitely needs improving on the service speed.

This pub has slowly improved over the last couple of years, nice ambience friendly staff, the marquee out back has its own bar and gardens surrounding it are well maintained it's also useful that the co-op shares the car park for picking up the things you missed on the main shopping trip.

Absolutely no enforcement of COVID-19 regulations. Staff were happy not to wear masks, even when they did on the rare occasion, they were on their chin. Customers were walking in and out without masks and staff did not seem bothered in the slightest. As an individual who worked frontline on the ambulances throughout the pandemic, this made me question the work that I did! Why did I bother?! The only credit I can give them was when a drunken customer challenged that nobody was wearing masks, they dealt with it professionally. However, this would not have occurred if staff members and customers actually bothered to follow the law. Luckily this will all be on their CCTV. However, myself and four others have already submitted photographic and video evidence to the coronavirus business complaints service. The food was good, but what the point in good food when I'm worried about the results of my next COVID-19 test. This is the first negative review I have left. I shall not be returning and would encourage potential customers to find a more trustworthy establishment.

We visited the Royal Oak when staying in Kings Bromley recently. It was a very idyllic pub with a cracking beer garden. They had a tent outside with a separate bar for showing the football outdoors. The staff are lovely, Gillian the Manager was very welcoming and looked after us throughout our time there. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced, the pizza being exceptional! We will certainly return to the Royal Oak when we visit again.

Was pretty dissatisfied with my visit the only reason it got two stars was because the starter was ok. I had a steak burger for my main and it was over cooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside with a very odd taste, the bacon on it was almost raw and the cheese was rock hard in fact the only thing on the whole burger that was right was the bun, I had two bites out of my burger and complained only for them to just take my plate away so I had to sit there watching everyone else eat without even being offered a replacement or anything, they still the charged me the full amount which I thought was completely unacceptable. The meal for 4 people and 2 courses was over £100 and for far below par food. If you do visit just have a starter as that seems to be the only thing the chef can cook.

Great service very friendly staff. Food bit of a miss. Steak and ale pie not nice. Stale and no filling. The fajitas were too salty could eat them . Great beer though.

This is our local pub and we love it. All staff are friendly, the food is really nice and the atmosphere is relaxing. Definitely worth a visit if you are wanting a nice country pub.

Had Thursday night pizza & bottle of wine, definitely worth it. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, drink & atmosphere. A definite favourite place to eat out. 😊

3 of us cycled here today and planned it as a lunch stop halfway round our route as we could see online thst it had a big beer garden. Food was great, service spot on and covid safety measures excellent. Definitely recommend 👍

just come back from here, been here the last 3 weeks, first 2 weeks very good when only 2 staff on, booked 5pm, booked for the 3rd week the man server said yes i will book you in, he didn't , arrived, we still got in, , this week same server said would you like a desert yes please, didn't arrive ,

Just returned from a meal at this pub. What a horrible experience. The service was atrocious. We waited an hour for 2 fish and chips. I asked for garden peas not mushy peas as I don't like them when the food eventually arrived both meals had mushy peas spread all across the plate. Asked to speak to the manager and a young man came over and told us that he was glad to have our feedback! Food was tasteless. Won't be going back. That's feedback.

Temperature very cold in restaurant. Overcooked Lasagne, nicely dressed salad, tasty chips. Chickpea curry, No taste of curry, more like Chickpeas in tomato paste.Extremely friendly staff.

What a super pub. My friend just moved here & already eaten 4 times. Log fire, lovely decor & super clean. Varied reasonably priced menu with added specials, lamb shank is fabulous. Nice reasonable wine prices. Efficient & friendly staff.

The food in here is fantastic, the staff amazing and without a doubt a true classic British pub, set in a lovely village with great surriu dings and not spoilt by "plastic chefs" keep up the great work and ppl will keep coming. I've eaten many meals here by the way and never had a bad one yet
