The Footage in Tameside

The Footage has unfortunately closed down however I am writing this review as a tribute to the business. This year was my first time coming to Footage and I am sad I didn't know about it sooner. Cheap Drinks and Food with plenty of excitement. Our friend group would go every Tuesday for Karaoke and it became a tradition. In between Uni lectures, there was nowhere better to go. Sometimes the place was booming with life from all the sport games being placed. Other times it was relaxed and calm for casual conversation. When I informed our group of Footage closing down, we were all upset as it had become such a routine for us to go to. The people we met, the people we sang with. We shall miss you Footage. Sorry to hear of the closure, what a great venue this has been. My best memory was watching the champions league final in there back in 99'..great night..ended up in the fountains outside the town hall. "And solskjaer has won it".

Was a lovely bar. Inside was clean, had clean bathrooms, and fast service. It’s a bit loud inside but that’s just because there are a lot of people there.

So sad it's closing due to the roof being uneconomical to repair 😢

Tried to book however never received a reply. Arriving early doors there was plenty of tables available. Sadly most of the menu was unavailable. My husband ended up with a burger which whilst edible was definitely not worth a write up. My vegetarian daughter ended up with a portion of fries. I managed to get a small plate of tacos.

Amazing atmosphere and uni student friendly!

The toilets here are truly evil. No toilet roll, flies, rotten. Pub itself is great!

Not much food available due to closing in 2 weeks, so we had a pizza which enenemic

Nice Boozer went today to watch Manchester united vs Arsenal but despite the result had a great time and met two lovely people! Amstel is ap nice pint especially for £2.50.. and great atmosphere and is everytime I go in 👊🏽🍻

Awesome pub! Great price and student discounts. Pool table is a joy to play.

We paid a £10 deposit to book a table for a live sports event as the bar advertised itself as being a great sports bar. Despite this the sport was shown on tv however music playing all the way through rather than the sport commentary as expected. The pub food and service service were well below average also. Would recommend going to one of the many other bars in the city.

Did a bottomless brunch. A big variety of food and drinks, some cocktails taste like juice. Beth was really good though

Went for a drink after a meal and went to the toilet for 2 mins and when I came back the drinks had gone and our takeaway box from the restaurant had gone, asked the staff if they knew anything and they were pretty rude saying they'd been at the bar the whole time which obviously wasn't true as a member of staff must have cleared our table. Could atleast tried to be more helpful.

Flat pints all night, tried explaining to the manager that you can’t pour pints into warm glasses but he seemed to disagree. No willingness to change the pint. Atmosphere was great and a really lovely place just a shame about the drinks especially the prices we paid for them

Best value bottomless brunch in MCR. We were served by Stan who was incredible, such good value for money, fast service and very friendly. So good for the money. Food was yummy but not the star of the show, drinks were delicious and they have a great range. Sports showed so the vibe of the place does change based on if there is a match happening but genuinely will be back and will never stop raving about this

Beautiful pub.. I didn't try food, but it looks delicious 😋. You can play pool, watch sports, eat, drink... always modest music

Great bar for viewing live sports. Decent selection of beers, reasonably priced. Would visit again next time I'm on Oxford Street

Service was great, food was burnt to cinders tasted like the grill hadn't been cleaned in months and the burger they advertise all over the place comes out looking like a burger you'd get doe £2 at the circus

Good burgers, nice sides, the tacos were a bit lacking, but this is a cheap Manchester pub so fair enough. Good for a quick drink or quick bite.

Nice place - obviously geared up for students being so close to the uni but went there as a family of four and no issues at all. Food was decent and reasonably priced, atmosphere was nice and the place generally had a good vibe

My girls often have galas at the nearby Manchester aquatic centre and I always pop in here between races because the choice of beer is great, there are screens everywhere you look and the food looks good too!

Dessert came about 15 minutes before my main, which was weird. But I still enjoyed both

This is an old pub that has kept all the period features when it was converted from a cinema to a bar. The interior has lots of charm and the atmosphere was very lively when I visited on a Friday night.

Good atmosphere, friendly staff. Lots of room, TV screens for sport. Well kept. Mon to Fri cheapest times to go .

Downstairs is cool but upstairs needs a little more spark.

Frequently visit for lunch when I'm in the area. Great no-nonsense food (can't beat the burger and drink) and really friendly service makes it an obvious choice for a frictionless working lunch! Hasn't lost that genuine feel it had back in the late 90s/early 2000s when I was first at the university - and that's not a bad thing!

I had an amazing time at the footage, amazing service by Lewis made us feel so welcome and helped us with any questions we had. The food was great too a wide range of options

Nice and affordable pub for your after-uni or predrinking needs. Staff is super friendly and helpful, especially the lady usually working the mid-day shift. Didn't have any of the food personally yet, but all the others from the friendgroup say its amazing.

Fair play to the staff they changed the big screen over to the rugby world cup third place match when we asked which I really appreciated. The beer selection is ok but a little pricey and when the sport is on it's difficult to hear the commentary (this is a sports pub - hence the sports comments!). Overall more than decent place

I lived on Grovesnor Street 11 years ago and was a regular. Then kept on coming back for society events, friends' meet ups or quizzes. I've seen the bar get renovated but not lose its feel. I miss the stock exchange! Last time I visited, the beer was so cold it was hard to keep it in my hand while standing and chatting to people.

Visiting Manchester Uni open day and needed somewhere for lunch. Checked TripAdvisor and this place had 4 stars so thought it would be ok. What a mistake. Arrogant bar manager (young Asian guy) did his best to completely ignore customers waiting at the bar, whilst perched on a stool at the end. Spent the whole time avoiding eye contact doing (obviously incredibly important and technical) paperwork! Approached him to ask if he could take our food order since again no one was behind the bar. Despite standing no more than two feet from him with menu in hand he refused to even look up or acknowledge I was standing there clearing my throat. Eventually left him to it since he was obviously far too busy and important to actually serve customers. Some people really have no Place working in hospitality. Take my advice and go somewhere else for food until this guy has been shown the door!

atmosphere looked great but the food was awful, the portion size was dreadful for what me and my friend paid and we left feeling underwhelmed- the chips were cold and felt reheated and the next day me and my friend were both vomiting because of this.

Great time watching the World Cup here!! Would defo recommend! Lewis is great and gave us a good Guinness !!

Pub is very spacious, big screens for sport, pool tables, good crowd in,mainly students, just a bit expensive for drinks, around £4 for a pint of Coke. Otherwise it's great.

Cheap beer and shows football. Perfection

Set in an old cinema, there is bags of character here. Loads of seating from sit down tables to long tables to cosy chairs, large tvs and a very big projector. Bright and colourful, loads of drinks and good food menu. Service was fast .

We used to come here when we were students over 10 years ago, so in an attempt to relive our youth we visited on 26/8 for bottomless brunch and the Tottenham match. Firstly the bottomless brunch is really reasonably priced, compared to other places, so that’s great. The food was amazing, but most of all was Rafe’s service. What an amazing guy. Kept myself and my husband topped up and was attentive and noticed when we were at the end or nearing the end of our drinks. Couldn’t tell you how many we had, but defo worked through the drinks menu haha. You don’t always get amazing customer service and friendly individuals working at places, so when you do it’s really important to shout about it! Rafe is 100% a credit to this business and I hope that this doesn’t go unrecognised by those above. Wish him the best of luck in everything he does. Lovely guy.

Came in this afternoon for a couple of drinks and a snack, service and food was impeccable! Would highly recommend the cookie dough dessert! TOO DIE FOR! Rachel’s service and I believe Carens food generally were amazing, so friendly and great service. Lovely atmosphere! Complements to the chef for the top notch scran! Many thanks x

Fabulous experience, Sam was looking after us all afternoon, super fast service and she was so friendly and chatty! After she left the GM Gabby looked after us for the duration and he was nothing short of fabulous, including Rufus his cutie dog! The food for a bottomless menu was vast with burgers and pizzas which was a nice if you didn’t want poached eggs etc. Karen the chef was 🫶 10/10 !!!

Booked in for the Bottomless Brunch. We upgraded the drinks package to include Pornstar Martinis. Rafe is an absolute legend. Kept us topped up for the whole time. He was such a lovely guy. I lost count of how many we had 🫣 stayed there for 4 hours as we watched the match too. Chicken burger and chips was delightful. We were well fed, watered and looked after. A great little find of a place and we will definitely be back with our friends soon xx

Great bottomless brunch experience with Rafe and team. 2 hours of cocktails, beer and some tasty burgers to soak it up. Good atmosphere with the sports on. All sorts of ppl in - friends, families, students, couples. Recommend.

Used app to order and pay. Payment went through but was deemed unsuccessful and staff refused to check on order. Ended up paying twice the price, so definitely not value for money! Staff most unhelpful.
