The Floating Coffee Co in Birmingham

The hotel did offer breakfast as an optional extra but The Floating Coffee Co was recommended to me by a colleague. A quick search on Google maps said it was a 10 minute walk along the canal from the hotel. The menu had plenty of choice for breakfast items with the usual tea, coffee and fruit juices. The staff were friendly and pleasant and we didn't have to wait long to order and the breakfast was ready less than 10 minutes later. A decent portion to set us up for the day and we were so impressed we went back the next morning too.

Passed this on our walk along canal and stopped off on our way back. We just had coffee and cake but friendly service and an eye level view of the canal water. Serves hot food too

We had a lovely brunch here today, with my Mum and Aunty. The breakfast was fab. Full English wasn’t greasy and very tasty. Lovely friendly staff but remember it’s cash only. I recommend!

This was an unplanned stop which turned out yo be very pleasant. The coffee, hot chocolate and brownie were perfect. We also had scrambled eggs on toast; they were extremely tasty and the portion was just right.

We popped in for hot chocolate and cake for elevenses after a trip on the Bosworth boat nearby (which was great). We received a warm welcome, lovely staff and food and all reasonably priced.

I see I reviewed this three years ago and complained about the poor quality sausages and nothing has changed. Apart form that, it is nice venue, with a water level view of early morning life in the city and the prices are reasonable compared with what else is available. I would like to there again and pay more for something a little better.

We re going there every month and it’s wonderful every time. Food is good. Staff is nice and helpful.

Popped in the morning after a cocert at the arena Birmingham and had a lovely breakfast. I had the sausage and egg baguette and my wife and friend had the full english the staff were friendly and the prices were reasonable. Substantial portions for all breakfast options. Nice cafetières with good choice of coffees. Friendly and quick service while you watch the boats go by — what’s not to like.

Just cycled to Birmingham for breakfast and stopped here for a bacon and egg sandwich. Worth every penny very clean and fresh food. The girl that served us was so polite and helpful.

One morning we decided to have breakfast on the barge called George moored at Brindley Place which we had spotted the evening before. We ate on board rather than on the tables outside. Inside it was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The waitress was polite, very helpful and quick to take our orders. We both decided to have a full English breakfast plus toast and the food when it turned up was well presented and tasty. I recommend a visit as it’s somewhere different to eat and I will certainly make a return visit the next time I am in Birmingham. Please note though that they only take cash here.

Just wanted a simple lunch after taking my daughter to Lego Discovery. This was definitely the right place to go. A fairly simple but nice meal at the right price. I opted for the Steak & Ale pie with chips, peas & gravy. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My daughter had sausage, chips & beans and she ate all of hers for a change! The staff were lovely and it's a nice experience on the boat. They only take cash. It's not wheelchair accessible but other than that, worth a visit.

Friendly and quick service, I had the cooked breakfast (which is served until 2!) And the other half had a cheese omelette with chips. Both were lovely! Would definitely recommend and shall be back again next time we're in Birmingham! Great little spot, fab idea! Thank you so much!

If you're looking for an interesting place for a date this is the place. Food is average, not bad but not awesome. Price is alright. The best thing is the views and the fact that it's in the barge!
