Costa Coffee in Birmingham

On a recent visit on Sunday 10 11 24 after the shop revamp it's a pity the staff wasn't revamped too was served by a right miserable woman think i stick to the one in mere green in future

Excellent staff - always polite and welcoming. Decor is good with comfortable seating and clean toilets. There is some outdoor seating also if required

Always enjoy a Costa coffee with my granddaughter. This was no exception

I have always enjoyed visiting Costa Coffee and have been a loyal customer for years. However, my recent experience at this branch was far below the standards I have come to expect. I was seated in the café for about five hours, busy with my online work, when one of the staff members, Bonnie, approached me. She asked me to either buy another drink or leave the café. Additionally, she told me not to move from one chair to another. I was shocked and embarrassed by her tone as she behaved in a rude and very unprofessional manner. That incident made me feel extremely unwelcome. I hope this feedback helps them to improve customer service!!

Coffee, pretty good, great service

Ordered an iced latte caramel today and asked for a straw so I could use it to stir and drink whilst I was walking. But was told the lid has a hole and I don't need a straw. That was fine as I was thinking they probably ran out. But as I was leaving I spotted most customers were given a straw to drink with their iced drinks. After walking with the drink for about 5 minutes the milk was still settled at the bottom and the coffee and caramel was on the top. Tried to shake, bit was not possible as the lid was leaking too. It had to be binned! Just poor service offered by the owner (Franchise I believe). Which should know better trying to save a paper straw. Should had stirred it before serving.

Today I popped into Costa Sutton Coldfield and I was served by a Barista called Jack. He was so attentive, and as someone who used to be a barista, he made me a hot chocolate so perfectly, he didn't skip or rush a step. This was a truly hand-crafted hot chocolate. I t tasted beautiful and he's service was excellent<3

All fine. Just a heads up...it opens at 9.30 on Sundays, not 9.00 as it says on here and on app.

Unfortunately, the miserable server spoilt this visit .She looked like she hated every minute of serving me . ( Light brown hair with a pony tail, blue plaster on her right ear ) Definitely wouldn't return.

Went there with my daughter and paid with a £20 note. To my surprise, they said that was fake money and wouldn’t accept it. They also broke the note and were rude and dismissive. I went to the bank straight after and guess what: was perfectly legit money. I guess if English was my first language they would not have behaved this way - this company definitely needs to choose their staff better.

Place felt dirty . Tables not cleared sticky floor tatty furnishings . Only one toilet second toilet unavailable . Staff pleasant . Whole experience not pleasant . Bring back independent coffee shops

Visit at least twice a week, constant good service from staff, tables always sanitised after us, toilets always clean.

the best costa I've been to, they make the best hot choco and are so kind to EVERYONE :D it would be nice if there was more indoor seating!

The order is just fine, The delivery driver not so much. He could've had a better attitude and not made a poor excuse to not do what he is being paid for.. Just because he couldn't be bothered to walk up 1 small flight of stairs. The request was to bring my order "to my door" so that i didn't have to leave my young child unattended, even after stating this he still made no effort.

The order was 24 minutes after it initially was due to arrive. The drink and panini were cold.

Always good friendly service, spotlessly clean, quick and prompt drinks. Toasties are to die for.

Had 2 very nice lattes 1 soya made by the barista Jack I enjoyed it that much I went back and had another one .

Typical Costa's but you can sit outside, area is covered but feels like it's outside.

The manager is a nasty piece of work. I asked for a simple cappuccino and she gives me a flat white. I complained to the manager and she started getting mouthy and said f off you brown c***t. I believe her name was Bonnie, Costa needs to get rid of her ASAP! Absolutely appalling!

Staff are friendly, helpful. Place is very clean and tried, unfortunately not enough seating inside so always take mine away.

Moody staff and not friendly. They didn't give me my millionaire shortbread with my drink and had to ask again.

Avoid busy lunch times if you're not pushed for time.

I sow the open hour , I was there at 16:46, and they told me they gone close in 10 min ... The open hours are 8 to 17.00 , not 8 to 18.00...

I went for 2 large late , the late was very cold and very Milky, like no sign of coffee.

I like having coffee here but you can't smoke outside because its apart of the grace church complex that actually for smokers enjoying a coffee and smoke outside its not accessible for us to be able to really enjoy our experience

Quite busy when I visited and could only pay with cash as card machines weren't working. Overall ok experience.

Cash only today although I am of an age to remember how to use it. Bit of a wait to be served with a polite apology although my request to have my waiting time knocked off the bill fell on deaf ears. Sadly no toilet is available and of course any ensuing inconvience is apologised for(tell my bladder that) however the public facilities are located round the corner in the shopping centre so it saves any unnecessary cleaning on Costa's part

On walking into this Costa...I noticed that most of the tables had cups/plates/crumbs on! So I asked if we could sit on a particular table but could someone please move the items and clean it!! To be told they have been very busy and someone would do it soon. So I ordered our coffee and toasties and asked again that we wanted to sit at a particular table which needed cleaning! I was then told by a younger assistant that I should have looked for a clean table as I walked in!! Oh she pointed to a table around the corner....I didn't want to sit there thank you and even that table had crumbs on!!! Both the manager and her assistant had attitudes like we the paying customers were in the wrong!! The table was eventually cleaned by some one else and the girl said sorry we had to wait! I will not be going in there again!!

I was appalled with the service. The manager was very rude and did not handle the situation well. She overcharged me and does not deserve to be the manager.

Awful customer service RUDE! Went into Costa today at 12.40pm with my daughter, while spending over £10.00 on hotchocolate and muffins, and paid for eating in. I asked for a table to be cleaned please the woman at the till told me to look for a table when holding a heavy tray of drinks with my daughter I found all the tables full of dirty dishes so I went back at the till to the women explaining they were all full of dirty cups .she then told me to look outside for a table. even the ones outside where the same .still holding this heavy tray I absolutely disgusted at how I was spoken to and treated.

Shop is clean and a lot better set out than it was pre covid. There were too many chairs and tables too close together before. Using a powerchair it was hard to get in and turn round to get to a table. It was quite Thursday afternoon when we went in for take out coffees and there was a queue and in spite of 4 people behind the counter it took ages being served. The cakes were sliding apart in the heat and there was a fly in the display so we didn't have cakes but took a tiffin from the cleaner side, separate. It was OK but could be better service and have fresher cakes.

The service was too slow given the number if staff on duty. I know C19 will be used as an excuse but having to wait 15 mins in a queue with only 3 people in front is ridiculous.

Nothing special about Costa, anywhere. Lacks character and decent snacks.

Staff are great but had to leave as only 2 were there in half term holidays at 3pm! Unbelievable that a company this size is too tight to put enough staff on to serve customers. Really poor.

Very rare I get a poor coffee from Costa. I enjoyed a flat white and a toasted sandwich. There's a book selling opportunity, too

Hi I went to this Costa with my support worker and I was a victim of harassment. I went out side for fresh air and as soon as I went back in the lady there that was behind the counter started shouting at me loudly so much that her face went red. She said"you shouldn't walk past people as there is a simple virus going around". So I would say shockingly bad customer service and I would not recommend going there.. 😢

Felt safe going here to get some yummy festive drinks. 1 way system, 1 person per group in the shop to keep numbers to a minimum. Friendly staff too!

Not an overly big Costa Coffee but at least you can sit outside and keep dry under the Malls roof.

I had coffee in Coffee 1 and customers were being told to wear masks by the Barista. Hand sanitiser was by the door and they cleaned the tables before you could sit down. I then went into Costa Coffee later and queuing was too close. People were coming in not wearing masks or sanitising their hands and the barista's said nothing to them. I felt quite anxious and aggravated in there and won't be going back. They should enforce the law. They face huge fines so what's the problem? No one complained about being told to wear their masks in Coffee 1, they just complied.

Everything was good I liked the food and drink just had to wait in the cue and people weren't cueing apart.

This has to be one of the slowest Costa shops in existence. Totally inadequate service speed most likely down to poor management and Incorrect Covid risk assessments resulting in a 30 minute wait despite challenging the assistant manager. Would not have bothered if I had realised sooner.

Stopped off for coffee & cake during a quick shop, good job we weren't in a rush as with 1 person serving and social distance queuing it was never going to be a quick experience. The coffee was usual standard though whereas lemon tart very dried up. With the reduced number of tables it was a better experience as not falling over every body.
