First time at this wonderful establishment but certainly won’t be the last ! Even though it was a dull day, the beautiful location sat beside and overlooking the river meandering its way alongside was a pleasure to behold and gave rise to thoughts of a barmy summer’s day. The service was fantastic, the food exceptional and did I mention the location 🌞 Ideally situated halfway between Shropshire and Cardiff and convenient for the motorway network, we are going to make this a regular meeting place

Almost all of the draft beers were off. Not sure why. One of the few beers left on was a Butcombe Gold which is usually a lovely beer - this was cloudy and sour so I sent it back and got a bottle. The waitress was very friendly and attentive but didn't know the difference between beer and cider (someone asked for a cider and she suggested Madri. Also she asked if I wanted a glass and ice with my bottle of Butcombe Gold). I had to ask them to remove kids drinks from the bill, which were supposed to be included with their main. On the menu one of the kids meals comes with pub chips and the other comes with skin on fries - they both came out the same. Not sure why. The adult cheese burger (£18) is tasty but way overpriced considering is only comes with a small portion of fries. Not even a side salad. It feels like that place is really going down hill, as we've really enjoyed it in the past.

A lovely pub in a beautiful spot on the banks of the river Avon. We all had a different main course and everything was delicious. We couldn’t fault anything. The staff were all very friendly and helpful especially the guy who helped us with getting the Loyalty App on my phone, called Ant I think he said. We will definitely be back . A great experience.

I didn’t stay over but came for brunch with two others. Quality of food was superb and presented beautifully. Service was prompt and efficient. I was very grateful for a quick call to tell me I’d left my cardigan on the chair too. ‘Don’t think anywhere has EVER rung to let me know I had left something behind. Above and beyond. Next time we’re en route to Bristol, we will stop again. It would be even better on a sunny day as the riverside setting is idyllic. Thanks so much.

The pub is a great spot especially in the summer. The staff are always so friendly and attentive even on busy days, great variety of food with the normal menu and the outdoor pizza oven and great vegetarian options which I find a lot of pubs in this area don’t offer. Drinks are always good and lovely views of the river.

Visited here on 26th Aug 2024 on the Bank Holiday Monday with the kids and grandparents. We were planning on having an early dinner at 5pm after the village fair. It will have been one of the most busy days with being a sunny bank holiday with the fair on too. Went up to order food to be told they were not serving food today except for pre-booked reservations. The person serving made up some excuse about a food delivery not turning up. But he clearly wasn't interested or bothered by our inconvenience and unfortunately his attitude suggested the same. I just don't understand how some businesses are run so poorly. The thing is the pub is in a prime location so is always busy, so an unsatisfied customer isn't really a concern. The previous owners and manager did a much better job with the place so it's just a shame when a brewery takes over and doesn't do the basics well. Call ahead if you're wanting food. I wish I could comment on how good the food was but alas.

Can't comment on the rooms as have never stayed, the food is lovely and location is beautiful in the summer, amazing if your into boats or sup boarding as the launch next to the pub grounds. Or you can just relax with a drink and watch the boats go by, wood fired pizzas are a must. Have visited quite a few times

Second visit here, this time for drinks only, unfortunately the beer was cloudy on both visits, this time it took 3 pints to get a clear drink, the serving guy commented on the second pint, well it was close to being empty, so why serve it when the barrel should have been changed. A pity really but it does deter from another visit. However a great riverside location.

We stayed just the one night and had an evening meal and breakfast. The service was great from the moment we walked through the door! The food was all lovely. The room was spacious with lovely decor and a comfy bed (there was only two of us so we didn't use the sofa bed). There isn't much in the way of furniture in the room which was fine for us, we just lived out of our suitcases on the floor for one night. A lovely view of the river from the room and lots of outdoor seating at the pub. Very happy with our stay and would return.

The rooms overlook the gardens and river and have a wonderful view. It's a great place for dogs, as you can walk along the side of the river. Unfortunately, our room was really pretty basic for the money with nowhere to put your luggage and a small table with one upright chair. We were expecting a sofa with seating by the window but there was only a mattress on an incredibly hard base that would have been very uncomfortable for a third person. In the bathroom there was no towel rail next to the basin and no shelf to put toiletries on. The Roberts radio and old fashioned alarm clock looked pretty but redundant. It would be far better to provide more comfort like chairs and a table (or sofa). The service was patchy - the manager was friendly and very efficient but when we ordered a drink, it didn't arrive so we went without. Breakfast was delicious but took half an hour to arrive despite there being only two tables awaiting service. No explanation or apology. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but thought it was expensive for what was on offer.

Strange opening hours seemingly dictated by the number of people drinking at the time. Told bar closes at 1930 on a Sunday (differing from hours published on both google and website) however when a larger party turn up after this time the bar is spontaneity open again. This in turn alienates locals- hence why the place is empty in the winter.

Google has assumed this visit was to stay rather than eat. The food was excellent, I had the lamb Kofta which was a welcome difference to other menus. Most others had the haddock. The accommodation is in a lovely setting with nice views but there are a couple issues that need to by highlighted. We came to stay here in the middle of the week Tuesday-Wednesday but the bar and restaurant area was extremely busy, there was limited seating and the staff seemed overwhelmed and unable to cope. The manager himself who was also manning the bar was not particularly friendly or welcoming and he seemed quite dismissive when I enquired about ordering food. His attitude was basically, if you haven’t booked ahead you won’t get a table. I had to explain that we had actually booked a room but we were just waiting to check in, we had driven for over two hours to get there and I did not think it was too much to ask to be able to order some lunch upon our arrival as we had never been here before and not familiar with the area. He eventually took me to one side and reluctantly agreed to get the kitchen staff to serve us lunch as we were paying guests after all and planning to stay over night. After the initial ordeal of ordering lunch we were eventually able to check in and see the room. Although the room had mostly adequate facilities it was fairly small considering it was described as a king double room. It was also a very hot day and the room had no air conditioning and not even fan or anything to cool down the room. It was extremely hot and sticky and I think that anyone with underlying health issues would have struggled to stay in a room that was so hot. Overall I don’t think I would choose to stay here again.

The Fleet staff were engaged from start to finish, making sure we could pre-order our food, keeping us up to date with both texts and emails, offering options, and responding to changes to our order - with engaged smiles and laughter when we arrived, and cheery goodbyes when we left. Special mentions to Ed for starting our adventure and Ant for going above and beyond by catching our escaped pup! We both went for the full English and we were not disappointed! It is the little things that make all the difference. The beans were in a pot for those that don't like them touching the rest of the food. The butter wasn't stupidly solid and they had put it on top of the toast to soften it! The coffee was lovely, the food delicious and the young lady serving us was friendly and the view was beautiful. A great all round experience. 10 of us were staying locally for a a half term break in the Cotswolds, found this place on google and boy were we happy. The cod (we ordered 7 large ones) was simply amazing. The fish was light and fluffy and the batter was golden and crispy. All very dry and tasty, none of that greasy feeling you often get with chippies. The staff and I think the owner in particular just seemed like really nice people. Highly recommend if you are passing through. The chips were not in the same league. Don’t get me wrong, they weren’t terrible by any stretch but felt we probably got the short end of the straw when it came to freshness. However, it did not detract at all from the positive experience.
