Secluded pub with stunning views. Plenty of indoor & outdoor seating areas. Quite an alternative menu not your normal "pub grub" Staff pleasant, although not attentive, we were asked if our food had been OK, my husband replied yes, I commented that i was disappointed with the chips which i thought were very low quality frozen rather than hand cut fresh, especially for the price & portion size, to which I received a grin & nothing more We tried but won't visit again

Far too expensive for some pretty basic pizzas and also high service charges.

Beautiful pub alongside the river. A good place to launch your SUP or canoe while the other half watches you with a nice cold drink. Dog friendly.

Be aware that they don’t serve a Sunday roast during the summer, just their normal menu and pizza menu.

Great setting and a lovely pub. Staff were all so friendly despite being run off their feet as it was so busy.

The accommodation is in a lovely setting with nice views but there are a couple issues that need to by highlighted. We came to stay here in the middle of the week Tuesday-Wednesday but the bar and restaurant area was extremely busy, there was limited seating and the staff seemed overwhelmed and unable to cope. The manager himself who was also manning the bar was not particularly friendly or welcoming and he seemed quite dismissive when I enquired about ordering food. His attitude was basically, if you haven’t booked ahead you won’t get a table. I had to explain that we had actually booked a room but we were just waiting to check in, we had driven for over two hours to get there and I did not think it was too much to ask to be able to order some lunch upon our arrival as we had never been here before and not familiar with the area. He eventually took me to one side and reluctantly agreed to get the kitchen staff to serve us lunch as we were paying guests after all and planning to stay over night. After the initial ordeal of ordering lunch we were eventually able to check in and see the room. Although the room had mostly adequate facilities it was fairly small considering it was described as a king double room. It was also a very hot day and the room had no air conditioning and not even fan or anything to cool down the room. It was extremely hot and sticky and I think that anyone with underlying health issues would have struggled to stay in a room that was so hot. Overall I don’t think I would choose to stay here again.

Beautiful location by the river. Lovely large beer garden. Parking tight. But you can park in the lane or follow it around to another parking area for the river

Wow what a find... we're from Cornwall and wanted to find somewhere to stop off on our journey to Cumbria. So glad we found you. We will be back for sure. The warm welcome to the food and the room was outstanding. We're big foodies and travellers and you got 5 stars:)

A Really beautiful location and a lovely looking pub too. Just 3 stars as it is insanely expensive now! 2 pints of beer and 2 spritz £22.90. £6.45 a pint a £10 a sprit and mixer is insane!

Made reservation, Fleet was ready for out visit, shown to the table, ideal, drinks order taken within 5 minutes, drinks served along with menus, order taken, 10/15 min wait for starters, the Scotch Eggs at thus location are OUTSTANDING, last time it was black pudding, this time apricot and garlic, they should consider this as a sideline - I’m first 👍👍👍👍 Both had steaks, fantastic, just as we would of wanted, nothing went to waste on our plates, great chips, grilled mushrooms, brilliant tasting peppercorn sauce - cannot wait for the next visit All washed down with a lovely pint of local Butcombe Ale

No rooms used but had to select this option Had a lunchtime meal and drinks with 3 others. Menu OK, but expensive (£135 fish and chips and drinks, that included 25% loyalty discount). Service ok but could be better, although manager did apologise. Overall the expense is offset by location.

Very pleasant stay. Situated by the banks of the river Avon. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and eager to please. Food was of a high standard. Lovely walk along river seeing lots of wildlife. No pesky car parking charges. Highly recommended. Ideal location to visit explore Tewkesbury or Upton upon Severn.

We came for dinner, lovely outdoor area and great selection of Butcombe beers, will definitely come again

Just had dinner as we were sleeping on our narrowboat on the river (there is a good ART mooring right next to the hotel). Service was very good and they were training a new waitress, who was delightful. Truffle fries were nice although I prefer them just with cheese and no dressing. Chicken strips with a caesar salad were also nice, as was the haloumi salad and the trout salad. Sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce and clotted cream ice cream rounded off the evening nicely. Highly recommended.

Had a brilliant evening which started with a private boat hire for 10 with Boatface Leisure. The Fleet staff were engaged from start to finish, making sure we could pre-order our food, keeping us up to date with both texts and emails, offering options, and responding to changes to our order - with engaged smiles and laughter when we arrived, and cheery goodbyes when we left. Special mentions to Ed for starting our adventure and Ant for going above and beyond by catching our escaped pup! The venue is setup along the banks of the canal offering private spaces within a group setting, and even caters for four legged friends, offering a selection of quality canine chews! Can highly recommend for groups who are celebrating as well as families looking for a special experience. We will be returning to this relaxed elegant space asap!

Good location for exploring the Cotswolds with a lovely view. Very peaceful (you cannot hear the motorway despite being quite close to it) and the staff were great.

Sunday lunch, shame no roast but steak and the pizza were great and the location by the Avon is as ever amazing. Staff helpful and friendly, we relaxed and really enjoyed ourselves.

Food was good but surprised my daughter couldn’t have a well done egg with her salad. Apart from that we were impressed with overall service.

Excellent stay the room was great, all the staff were friendly, food was lovely both our evening meal and breakfast and you made us feel extra welcome with the dog. Views were extra special. We will be definitely staying again.

Came here for breakfast on bank holiday Monday. We were given the choice of where to sit, so chose a table by the window so we good see the River Avon. We both went for the full English and we were not disappointed! It is the little things that make all the difference. The beans were in a pot for those that don't like them touching the rest of the food. The butter wasn't stupidly solid and they had put it on top of the toast to soften it! The coffee was lovely, the food delicious and the young lady serving us was friendly and the view was beautiful. A great all round experience. We can't wait to return to try out dinner and to make use of the outdoor space in the summer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Fleet Inn. Lovely setting on the river and we enjoyed the sunshine and a few drinks in the large beer garden. Love that there’s only a few rooms so not overly busy and it’s dog friendly too! All staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was outstanding, particularly enjoyed the smashed avocado and poached eggs on sourdough with bacon for breakfast! 😋 We will be back!

Visiting nearby Showborough House sculpture garden and met up with friends for lunch. Excellent food and very efficient service. Sadly “light lunch / starters” are just that - delicious but tiny. will have 2 next time!

An excellent small hotel (only three bedrooms!) with magnificent views over the river. Service was personal, attentive and excellent. Our room was beautifully appointed and maintained to a high standard. This was a real treat to find.

Fantastic location on the banks of the Avon, friendly, clean excellent food but menu limited. Just the spot to relax in and explore the area. We really enjoyed our stay. But unfortunately the rooms need a good update. Wallpaper hanging of wall and has been for a year , carpets filthy in our room Moorhen as we’re skirting boards , wall covered in some spillage by window , bathroom is poorly laid out .toilet is between sink and towel heated rail , you can not use toilet if rail is on . Worst hotel room we have ever had in a Butercom inn . Staff try hard to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable they are excellent. Gorge was a pleasure to meet and made our stay enjoyable.

What a wonderful lunch we had at the Fleet on Saturday. Excellent food, a really great menu. The ambience was fab and the warm welcome and hospitality we received was second to none. Everyone was so kind and helpful....a BIG FIVE STAR SHOUT OUT TO ELLIE who looked after us for the majority of time......but a massive thanks to the rest of the team behind scenes and front of house. A memorable happy time!

Dinner with friends. The server was a new team member and had to check one or two things but very pleasant and helpful. Food was very good and the view over the river on a sunny evening was lovely. I don't agree with service charges being added to bill automatically although I would have tipped anyway.

Another delightul evening yesterday at the Fleet. Despite it being a busy time Andriana and the young man behind bar went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. Delicious food , comfortable surroundings and very welcoming and attentive staff.

Decent sunday roast... A little expensive in comparison to equally decent options within a 2-3 mile radius.

A late lunch for four, marking my son and daughter-in-law's wedding anniversary. The menu choice at the Fleet Inn was first class, and the food we chose didn't disappoint. Notwithstanding the fact that we were the only diners at that time (14.00-16.00), the service was attentive yet never intrusive. It was one of those occasions where I was more than happy to pay the optional 10% service charge - for both the kitchen and the front-of-house staff, it was more than deserved.

So, this is such a lovely place to come, right by the river. The bar area is nice and clean, and the service to start was really good. We had drinks and then ordered our meal. Understandably, we know it was Sunday. However the meal took an absolute age to come to us. So although it was hot on arrival, and extremely delicious, it just took a long time to get to us. So much so, we decided not to have a sweet 😩 We maybe thought they were understaffed. Car park, really small and very tight places, but you can park on the road in the lane. So, that is why it's only 4 stars But the customer service was very good and attentive. 😊

We went for a lunch at the Fleet Inn to celebrate my dad’s 70th. Food was lovely, staff were very friendly and helpful. All the food came out together and we did not feel rushed in any way. Beautiful location. Very clean. Would recommend ++

Very spacious room. Tastefully decorated. Excellent staff friendly and helpful.

Only thing that let out visit down, a little, was one of the waiters. Although very pleasant he seemed a little inattentive. Eg, would walk past tables who were waiting to be served.

We celebrated my husbands 40th by staying over and a meal with family. The team made us so welcome and went above and beyond to make sure the weekend was a success.

Came here for lunch today to meet friends. It never fails to amaze us just how fabulous this place is. Been many times over the years. The food is always fantastic and we are always made very welcome. Look forward to our next trip in a couple of months time.

Brilliant pub by the river with an open fire , which on a chilly day was very welcome. By far, the best fish I have ever had, the batter was so fresh and crispy, and the fish was large. Not a pre-cooked, thin, and re-heated bit like other places. The lady serving us was friendly and came back to check if our food was good. Went as a group of 6, and the speed of the food arriving was spot on. 100% recommend

Stayed here last night, lovely room overlooking the river and a fantastic breakfast this morning. A very friendly pub with good beer and wine along with great food that is more than pub food. It is very dog friendly as well, will definitely stay again when visiting the area.

This is a wonderful place for an event. The food is very good, the beer (Butcombe) is well kept. And the venue itself is marvellous – picture-perfect setting on the banks of the Avon, in the beautiful village of Twyning. They have an extensive terrace going down to the river, with paved, covered and lawn areas and plenty of outdoor seating. It is dog-friendly and they have good car parking too.

We had a wonderful stay at the Fleet Inn. The location is stunning and the rooms are stylish and comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast and both were excellent. A very comfortable and relaxing stay, we will definitely be back!

Great old pub on the banks of the River Avon. The idea was a river walk and a late Sunday lunch. Unfortunately the weather had been awful, the towpath was flooded and dusk was fast approaching. Thankfully the pub was warm and welcoming , lots of space , open fires and great food. Pleasant young staff, everything you want from a country pub.

We met another couple for lunch and we were very glad we chose the Fleet. The other couple was late, but this did not cause a problem with staff, who were very helpful. The food was excellent and we enjoyed the meal. We'll be back!

The team at The Fleet were amazing and went above and beyond for my mum’s 80th birthday celebrations. We were given a private room (the Boathouse) with lovely views over the river. Food was fantastic. Highly recommended.

A group of eleven elderly golfers enjoyed lunch at the Fleet Inn, Twyning in Gloucestershire. We had the Ferryman's Room and everything was set out for our arrival. We had pre-ordered our meals and wine and all was ready for our start after pre-lunch drinks. Service was pleasing and prompt. I can certainly recommend the The Fleet.

First visit here to this Butcmbe pub for lunch on a Wednesday. A lovely pub on the river. Good pint of real ale. If you download the Butcome App you can sign up for 25% off on a Wednesday which made my grumble below more pallatable. Service was hit and miss and not very attantive. My grumble is the advertised food on the menu. My partner chose the pie which was a tasty and a whole individual pie which you do not often get. It was adverised with a choice of mash or chips and 'greens' his 'greens were a small spoon of cabbage. He would have liked another 'green' with the cabbage. My dish, 'Severn and Wye Valley smoked haddock kedgeree mac n cheese, bahji scraps, peas and coriander' was not as advertised. I wondered where the mac n cheese came into it. Kedgeree? This dish is rice, eggs, curry powder at the very least. My delivered dish was flaked smoked haddock in mac n cheese with peas underneath. The bhaji scraps were nice :) Please if you advertise something, make sure the dish is what it says!!! I did not mention it at the time as I did quite enjoy my non kedgeree mac and cheese but the staff were not to be seen, telling everyone about the lunch that they had just had or on their phone behind the bar. We will revisit though.

We stayed two nights and had a really nice time. The room was quiet and had a wonderful view! The food was excellent. And we are especially thankful to Ant, who stayed extra late to check us in after our train was cancelled. Highly recommend for a relaxing break.

Room was very dark! Light in showroom took over 5 minutes to switch on so when it finally lit we did not turn off. Only staying one night so did not raise with management.

We were very impressed that everything was being dealt with by just one member of staff. She was serving at the bar, taking food orders, clearing table and welcoming hotel guests all on her own. She even made my fruit crumble!

Great food, fantastic staff and the rooms are beautiful

Met our son and daughter in law for lunch before they returned to Leicester. Even though we arrived very near to the lunchtime kitchen closing, the staff waited for us to choose from the menu, with no pressure. After a short time, our Gammon, egg & pineapple, chips, and home made piccalilli arrived. It was thoroughly delicious. We will definitely be visiting again.
