We called in here after the rememberance service in Whittlesey. We enjoyed a beautiful roast dinner and the service was excellent too. Lovely decor, great atmosphere, lovely food. Will be coming again.

We met friends here today for lunch and we’re disappointed 2 had steak sandwich and fries 2 Fish finger sandwiches 2 lots of fries were cold One lot came out after the food was served We told the waitress and were told -“ that’s a shame “. We had to go to the counter to get a pudding menu as after 15 mins of waiting for someone to The waitress said the manager had gone up stairs to take a call and there were only 2 staff She was struggling to serve people Puddings we’re good

I cannot praise your staff enough. I require gluten-free food and the girl who served us, Chantal?, was prompt, helpful, informative, engaging, and couldn't do enough to help me and positively serve our table. She is a credit to your team. Also, the decor in the restaurant is very nice, the food was tasty, and the ambiance was inviting and relaxing. Thank you to our waitress and the entire team for a lovely time with you all.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Fitzwilliam Arms! The food was very tasty and the service was great, particularly by Lynda who was very kind and attentive ☺️

We went for lunch today and the food was superb. We had starters of chicken tikka skewers and the pate both were lovely. Our mains were a fish finger sandwich and the ultimate burger and it definitely was! We weren’t going to have a sweet however we saw the bonoffee choux dessert and my husband was sold, so I had the mango pavlova, they were both delicious. This was our second visit in the last couple of weeks and I have to say it really doesn’t disappoint. Graham our server today was lovely and friendly and the pub was nice and busy.

Not having eaten here for some years and reading good reviews, we came to celebrate husbands birthday, we were impressed with the changes. We were seated promptly and order given for drinks. The menu was varied and we chose well. The food was well cooked and served well. The only criticism would be that the creme brulee was a little under done. That apart, we had a really good night, and we'll be sure to come again.

Such a shame how downhill this pub has gone. Lovely location and building but having been a few times recently with bad experiences each time, it needs to be brought to the attention of the management The tables are constantly cluttered inside and outside and no one seems to come and clear them. The food standard has gone down whilst prices have considerably risen. Smelly glasses with marks on them. Slow service and staff seem stressed and overwhelmed - heard one say to another that she felt close to tears. Unsure what’s happened here but the overall quality and ambience has declined considerably.

Came for my birthday. What a great experience! All the staff that served our table made me feel very special. Graham was a massive help with my friends allergy too

Fantastic meal here the other night. We started off with drinks in the bar, Sam was wonderfully charming and he made our cocktails. We moved into the dining area for dinner and were looked after by Paul and Chanél. The food was outstanding, I had the crab cake for starters which was beautifully cooked and wonderfully flavoursome. For mains I had the garlic lamb skewer - it was so succulent and tasty. The slaw and chips that accompanied it were perfect. We didn’t have room for puds sadly, maybe next time. All in all an amazing meal, we will be back very soon for sure!

Went foe my mums birthday. We sat outside in the garden which was lovely and very clean. The food was beautiful ,we all opted for the skewers which were beautifully presented and so tasty!!! Arrived at 7.30 Sunday. Asked at bar for menu and ordered drinks. When we tried to order we were told " no roasts" no roasts on a Sunday evening ?? Failed to mention that a few minutes earlier when we asked for menu ... we finished our drinks and went to a better managed pub for some Dinner. Bad show Fitz !

Went for dinner tonight with my husband and ordered with the app to the table. Food came quickly but with no cutlery we were told to get our own which is surprising. Food was not great my fishcakes were over cooked the broccoli was hard and the potatoes bland. My husbands pizza was all crust, was definitely not worth the £50 we paid in total. Tables were dirty and not being cleared even though staff were walking past these dirty tables full of dishes, people had to sit at these tables and still they were not being cleared. The pub itself is beautiful but the food very disappointing service not great 😕

Had a fantastic Easter meal . The Root Vegetable Wellington was delicious. My husband had the trio of meats which he loved. Ice cream & Blackcurrant & Apple Crumble for pudding. I went here for lunch on a week day. It was busy but I was made to feel welcome as soon as I stepped through the door. All of the staff, including Graham who served, me were pleasant, polite and professional. The service was quick but I wasn’t rushed. I had 2 courses from the lunchtime menu. There was plenty to choose from - various dishes and they all sounded delicious. I had smoked haddock and spinach fishcakes with new potatoes, tenderstem broccoli and hollandise sauce for my main course. It was hot and very tasty and beautifully presented. I then opted for a mini pud and hot drink for dessert. I had creme brûlée - delicious and a pot of Earl Grey tea (piping hot and I got 2 large cups from the pot). I would highly recommend this pub and will definitely be going back again.

We attended on a Sunday for Sunday dinner and were served by Lynda. She was polite, attentive and also humorous which is all you would want in a waitress. She is an asset to the team! The food came in a timely manner despite it being a busy Sunday evening and we couldn’t fault it. The portions were spot on and the food was amazing, flavourful and fresh! Not our first visit and defiantly not our last.

Very nice atmosphere and ambiance in the pub. The staff were helpful and friendly even though initially it was very busy. The food quality was good and we all enjoyed our three course meal. We will certainly visit again as the menu was concise but varied. The only caveats I had were that the service was a bit slow and the prices were a little high and we spent a lot even though we had a free bottle of Prosecco and a further glass of wine was £10 - a bit steep.

Great atmosphere, decor and good food! We were served by Lynda who was both attentive and friendly. The food choice was beyond just the standard Sunday lunch and our individual requests were accommodated. There was no hurry to free the table up after a set time. I would definitely go again.

Visited for brunch. Pub appeared quite empty on arrival (11am ish) with perhaps 4 other people in. Seated in a nice area - order taken for drinks then came back with them, then took food order. It seemed to take an age to arrive which, given how busy the pub appeared, was odd. Most had the full English cooked breakfast. The eggs were quite a disappointment - my poached egg looked like a blob of houmous and the scrambled egg was a mix of brown and grey. The bacon was a couple of thin, very crispy strips, and the mushrooms probably half a dozen slices which looked like tinned ones. It was filling and adequate but perhaps not the standard or quality expected. The coffee on the otherhand, was very good. Just need to up the game in what is being sent out - really look at that breakfast and whether it's something they'd like to eat

Certainly wouldn’t recommend or go back. Waited an hour for mains despite the restaurant not being that busy and then almost an hour for desert went and paid and then within minutes the extremely rude and abrupt waiter told us to leave as we had paid! Really we waited almost 2 hours for our meal overall and you rudely demand we leave the table, wouldn’t mind but there wasn’t a sole in the restaurant by that stage. The waiter was rude and abrupt throughout our meal. Personally I would suggest you avoid and getting better food pans service from one of the big chains

Fantastic Sunday lunch, had a lovely table plenty of space. It was very busy but the staff were fab everyone was happy and took time to check everything was ok. Food ordered came in good time everything was hot and lots of gravy in little jugs was great so you can have as much or as little as you like. Well done Graham and crew today was a pleasant surprise 😉

Hi the pub is very welcoming since the refurbishment We went for an anniversary lunch the food was just ok My wifes fish and chips she really enjoyed but my food was okay but not very warm because it was served on cold plates which is a shame really and was also quite expensive Why served quite nice food on a cold plate doesn't make sense

Visited today for a family meal, 6 of us. From the moment of entering until the time we left we were very well attended too. Nothing was too much trouble when we requested it. Fantastic atmosphere, food was incredible and service beyond reproach. Highly recommended & definitely will be returning.

We had a wonderful family meal at this delightful pub/ restaurant. Our server was Joe, who could not have done any more for us. He was attentive, friendly and very helpful in guiding us through our choice of drinks, . The food was first class and beautifully served. It was a busy evening, but we were not kept waiting during our courses and the whole atmosphere was very friendly. I highly recommend this pub for any occasion, you will not be disappointed.

Well what a fantastic place to visit, We have been here in the past but not for many years,the Sunday lunch was worth every penny,we had the trio,every thing cooked to perfection,Lynda our waitress was exceptional,very professional and knows her job very well everything was just as you would want it when going out to eat I was very pleased with the boss as well the manager Graham he was very attentive and kind , the pub is run in such a way that it's very calming there was no hassle everybody seemed to know what they was doing considering there wasn't that many staff on everything was 100% and we will go back well done you guys. We booked a meal here for 14 of us, on December 29th 2023. Right from the point of booking, everything was flawless. We pre-ordered our food, which meant that every delicious dish arrived speedily and piping hot (or chilled, as appropriate) and we were all served within minutes of each other. It’s so rare to find a restaurant that can combine excellent food and service for such a large party with such professionalism and high standards. Every staff member was perfect, every part of our three-course meal was perfect, and every drink was perfect. Graham and team, the legend of your fabulous country pub will be carried back to New Zealand with our hugely impressed family members. Thank you for making our day so special.
