Highly recommended Craig came to our office in Chester and served over 80 people within 40 mins ,it was brilliant everything went smoothly, from start to finish staff thoroughly enjoyed it, Will have the fish bar back again very soon.

I called in for a takeaway on Tuesday 02/11 and there were 2 female members of staff behind the counter. They were not very welcoming and hardly said a word to me (oh and I was also with my 7 year old daughter). Before serving me they were having a conversation when one started swearing a couple of times mid conversation f___ this and f____ that. Felt very uncomfortable especially as my daughter was with me. I was eventually asked what I wanted but to be honest I just felt like an inconvenience not a customer. I didn’t say anything due to the fact my daughter was with me but I really just wanted to get out of there. Really felt that standards had really dropped from what I have previously seen and to top it off food was not great a lot of green chips!!!! Will not be returning and would suggest some customer service training for the foul mouthed staff.

Avoid! Clearly not interest in providing good product that they charge for. Private messaged months ago but they have not bothered to correct their error.

I have to say first of all I have used this fish bar many times and I have always enjoyed the meals. However on this occasion I can't say that. The chips on one of the meals were hard, like cardboard, I think it was the end of the batch because the other meal I bought was lovely. I have to say one member of staff was quite rude too.

Had chips from here a few times and they have been excellent however, on this occasion the chips were dark brown - clearly been re heated and the fish had a very hard batter and the fish was very dry - again probably reheated. wont risk the fish and chips from here again

Well I don’t understand how they’ve won awards for their food but there’s no way they’ll get any recognition for their customer service. Grumpy guy taking my order who seemed to get irritated with me because I couldn’t hear his mumblings iro salt & Vinegar. (I only said, pardon) Waited forever only to get rubbish fish, curry sauce leaked in bag and they forgot a sausage and the chips were cold!

Tonight I had my tea from The Fish Bar, I had the fish, chips & side meal I chose curry sauce. Portion was good and plenty big enough for one person, it was freshly cooked and still piping hot once I got home. Great food will visit again. Thanks guys....

8th July 2020, my nephew treated me to gluten free fish chips and mushy peas absolutely delicious, I highly recommended it if on gluten free diet. My sister had homemade steak pie chips and peas and it looked delicious, definitely going to be a regular for us.

We go here atleast once a week however this week the staff were staring and whispering the second we walked in so we didn’t even end up buying anything. They made us feel so uncomfortable that we had to leave. Disgusting behaviour.

Since my last review in May I have to agree with previous reviews. The length of time waiting was ridiculous and the fish was three parts batter and very small amount of fish.

Service was poor they seem more interested in taking the money than serving customers as they queue up I shall not bother again

No where near as good as they used to be. Management seem to have lost a grip of customer service and satisfying customers. Jackos chippie near by is nicer fish too.

This is the 2nd visit to our company and yet again Craig and his lovely team didn't disappoint. The food was excellent lots of happy colleagues who all thought the food was amazing. Thanks Craig for another successful event, look forward to having you back to our company soon. If you are looking for an amazing Fish & Chips food truck...... This is the one to pick you won't be disappointed..... (BTW Craig also did Halloumi for the veggies)

Have visited here before so was looking forward to food today Very disappointing. Ordered 3 fish which were nearly all batter and shag fish inside was chewy Chips were ok. Peas good

Extremely pleasant polite staff. Nothing to much trouble even including slice of lemon with my fish. The fish was extremely chunky, tasty and a very light batter. We also purchased a steak and ale pie which had adequate amounts of very lean steak and a very tasty gravy. Highly recommended.

As my wife has coeliac disease, we always call in on their gluten free evenings, which they have very two or three weeks. Although I personally don't suffer from the condition, I always have the gluten free fish, and I defy anyone to tell the difference in the batter. Brilliant chippy.

We haven’t had fish and chips for a while and decided to have it tonight for treat. Service in the chippie is very pleasant and fast and no complaints there. The food on the other hand was not good. The size of the portion was more than adequate however it didn’t taste very nice. The fish and chips tasted like they were cooked in really old bitter tasting oil, not even the lovely curry sauce could hide that taste. Very disappointed however we will put it down to a one off?? We will try again at some point as every restaurant/ takeaway has an ‘off day’ and we are all for supporting local businesses.

Thank you Craig for fantastic fish and chips at my parents’ 80th birthday party. Everyone agreed they are the best fish and chips they have ever had, people are still raving days after. Well done, couldn’t recommend you highly enough.

"The Fish Bar On Wheels" is a must for anyone looking for mobile catering.

What a fantastic service the mobile fish bar provided at our school reunion a week ago. The service provided was an efficient and professional one. Everyone loved the food served. The gluten free option was a hit as was the halloumi vegetarian option. The fish and chips were to die for. Thankyou Craig and your partner for a delicious supper served with a smile.

Super quality very tasty and prepared fresh we all love it. Staff really pleasant. Clean place. Smells of fresh fish not old oil;)

Have used this chip shop several times with no complaints but today called in for chip at lunch time but was disappointed the chips had a hard shell on which left them chewy. It’s as if the potatoes weren’t freshly peeled?

First time trying this place out and oh my it did not disappoint. The pie and chips was a massive serving of delicious food.

We order fish and chips on the gluten free evenings, as my wife suffers from coeliac disease. To simplify matters, I have a gluten free fish as well, and I defy anyone to tell the difference between that, and regular batter. It's so good, our next door neighbour has a fish now and again. Needless to say, she is blissfully unaware that the batter is gluten free, and I'm saying nowt. Excellent.

Well if passed this chip shop lots of times but decided to pay it a visit we'll it is excellent and I recommen it a visit it's the best I had in yes top class good price keep up the good work I will be back soon

Great local chippy. All the food is cooked fresh to order but that doesn't mean you're stood there waitefor ages. The service is excellent and the food tastes amazing. No wonder they have won so many awards.

I hired the mobile fish and chip van for my husband's 50th birthday party and was extremely impressed with the service from start to finish. From the initial request for a quote to the quality of the food. The guests thought the food and service was fabulous, as did I. Highly recommended.

So happy to have found this local chippy. Chunky, very hot and delicious. Reasonably priced for great portion sizes. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

This chip shop has lovely staff and the food is very good and reasonably priced. The home made pies looked lovely. May have to have that next time.

That WAS my favorite chippy until today. It was less than a half fish in fish. I've ordered large fish meal and get box full of greasy batter. WOULD NOT GO THERE ONY MORE ALSO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

I went on Monday 5th Feb and had a steak and ale pie and chips. The chips were lovely, nice and chunky, but the steak and ale pie was very disappointing. It only had 6 small pieces of meat in it, loads and loads of onion and the gravy tasted of cornflour. I think a more apt name for the pie would be onion, gravy and steak pie.

Well as i was passing by i seen the fish bar and turned around and parked up at side of shop walked in very clean shop the lady behind counter said. Good even may i help you i got the small fish n chip with peas £4.50 well it was the best iv had in a while fish cooked as i like it and planty of it and chips very nice and peas meal was not floating in greener keep up the good work i will be. Very soon its well worth the vist excellant

Craig and his team exceeded our expectations when they provided mobile fish and chips to my son's wedding at Iscoyd Park, Whitchurch in September. Lots of wonderful food and a great service. Received lots of compliments from the wedding guests - well done! I would highly recommend this service - ideal for weddings/parties.

The gluten free evenings are my wife's treat, so we always try to be around when they happen. To avoid any complications, I have gluten free batter on my fish, and I defy anyone to distinguish it from regular batter. Superb chippy.

Again as always Craig and his team hit the spot again, top notch fish and chips and if you fancy a pie try it as it's all homemade and fresh. Great customer service all round as always.

Dry overcooked fish .got on earth this chip shop has won awards I don't know....we definitely not recommend

Not great value for money. As members of my family have allergies gluten free night was something to look forward to. Since we last visited we have moved house and close to us is an amazing fish and chip shop who do gluten free all the time better value bigger range.

We moved house and needed to find a new good chippy. Although not the closest this is the nicest in the area. Good quality fish and chips with the usual chippy extras, fish cakes, sausage etc.

The fish at this chippy are cooked fresh and are excellent!. The chips (like at most chip shops) are not quite as fresh and sometimes taste like they have been around a while. The pies are extremely good and worth the trip.

Have now visited 3 times, it's not the nearest chippy but worth the travel across town, the quality has been consistently high, pudding chops peas and gravy is really nice, but you should also try the homemade pies, (when there's some left) left it late tonight due to work, but they still fried me a battered sausage and did the puddings etc even when they were due to close, it's no wonder they are award winning, well deserved

These guys saved my wedding day. I was let down less than a week before the our wedding. The food was Amazing, the Staff were great and would recommend the food and the service to everyone and anyone. Perfect in everyway.

Great place, super clean and tidy. Really good people and better food. Home made pies are a must! No real waiting time like some. A good feature is a potato peeler that you can see working.

The owner has won several awards and this is reflected in the quality of both the food and the standard of presentation of the shop, it is clean and well kept, majority of items are cooked to order which is the best was to ensure freshness and the fish is well worth the wait.

Great place to buy fish and chips, portion size is not the largest in the town but the quality of the food is high. There are fish and chips from elsewhere then there is the fish bar's fish and chips. Never had a bad meal from here, the staff are great and service is excellent.

We had the fish and chip van for a celebration at home and it went down a treat! Was a brilliant afternoon made even better with an amazing selection of fish, chips and sausage. It had all the condiments on the van even little pots of tartar sauce! :-)

We recently had the Fish bar chip van celebrating my son's homecoming at our home WOW IT WAS FANTASTIC. The food was absolutely delicious , everybody had a choice between fish & jumbo sausage & there was peas,gravy & curry sauce. We asked all our guests to choose between the fish & sausage - Craig worked so hard , then all our guests went to the van for their food , condiments & forks. It was absolutely fabulous . No more buffets for me in the future it's the chip van from the fish bar every time .

Been here many times, friendly staff, as others have said fish is cooked to order so usually a wait but never that long even when its busy. What can I say except the best fish and chips I have had in Crewe. Give it a try!!

Certainly one of the best in the area and probably one of 3 that we go to. Fish cooked to order so it takes a bit of time but worth the wait. As other reviewers have said, nice shop, easy access and friendly efficient staff. There are others as good (which I won't name) but not found one better yet so always worth a call.

Clean take away fish and chips, food very good. Food cooked fresh while waiting. Very friendly staff. There are places to park therefore making it easy to collect food.

First came across the fish bar at a party in nantwich, Cheshire. They had their mobile fish and chip van there. The food and service were amazing so thought I would head to their shop one evening. Not disappointed! Now drive past 4/5 shops for my fish and chip fix. Always spot on. Thanks.

These are the best fish in chips we've ever tasted and don't forget to ask for some home made Tartare sauce, its absolutely stunning!

This place is always top of our list when we want fish and chips. The clue is on the door when you go in, it's 'award winning' fish and chips and it's the best in the area by a long stretch. The viewing area behind the counter where you can watch the staff prepare the chips is something a bit different and the little extras like the lemon wedges with the fish and the homemade pies make it better than your average chippy. Worth the drive across town for us.

We regularly pop in for the super delicious chips and meals from The Fish Bar. It's in a really convienient positionn as there is parking available.The staff are friendly & efficient and the food is great value for money. The home made pies are a delight with good quality produce in the fillings and crispy pastry lids, my husband especially enjoys them.

Absolutely love this place and go out of my way to visit. Crisp light golden batter and amazing flakey fish with fluffy golden chips. I'll be back again soon.

Had a super freshly made lunch, always cooked fresh never left to dry in the cabinets. The staff were friendly and good value for money. The homemade pies are a must.

Modern chip shop with a large glass preparation room. We all enjoyed our chips and received good service to go with them i would recommend.
