Me and my partner ate here the other night and we were served by Laila. The food was outstanding, we were fit in last minute due to unexpected cancellation of another booking elsewhere and the service was amazing. Cocktails were tasty and well presented without being too flashy. The steak on a stone was amazing. I feel 10 oz may not be enough for next time. Dessert was okay, the mrd had bannoffee cheesecake which was really nice and I had a sticky toffee pudding which was good but nothing to write home about. Overall a really nice experience, guided expertly by our lovely server, Laila. Food was amazing and drinks were great.

Food was fantastic! 100% recommend! This is the second time coming here and both me and my girlfriend enjoyed it both times. Our waiter Kyle was amazing, he attended to any needs we had and provided great service.

Delicious food, great value for money on the Thursday 'Date Night' deal

Go to Miller and Carter!! Unfortunately a few issues with the food. Ordered the steak kebab pink, it was cooked through but we didn't complain about this. We had onion rings which were too oily to eat, we did get these off the bill. My real issue was my meal, I ordered the rump steak medium. It came rare and the meat was very gristly. When I told them about this they explained that "it was just the cut of meat, sometimes you get that". I'm sorry, but if I'm paying upwards of £20 for a steak, I expect the restaurant to select the best cuts for me to avoid chewy fat. I left nearly half the steak chewed in tissues on my plate! They didn't offer me any concession for the steak and I had to pay full price! Don't order steak here. Will not be returning.

Just had an amazing meal at the Firepit. Second time coming here and will definitely be back. We were served by Jasey who went above abd beyond to make our experience absolutely perfect. She was super friendly and very attentive. She even asked the chef to make a sauce that wasn't on the menu so she went above and beyond to makesure everything was spot on for us. Highly recommend and hope we get Jasey again next time we visit!

Ok for a drink & snacks or starter. Poor food. Greasy, tasteless. Undercooked fish & chips, sent back. Tasteless mushroom gnocchi. Sadly, we were sat at a table directly next to the bar in Rawtenstall that smelled VERY strongly of vomit. We all became aware of this and soon realised it was the tabletop. A previous punter must have puked on it earlier.... We asked to be reseated after staff agreed it stank. So not a great experience.

Night & day in comparison to our awful experience in the Blackburn Firepit last year. The service was exceptional, the atmosphere & the restaurant itself was lovely. I started off with the chicken wings which were great, everyone else enjoyed their starters. I then went onto the blue cheese burger which was a major letdown, no taste of blue cheese & the burger itself was very bland; I ended up sending this back & the staff handled it very well & removed it from the bill. The chips & coleslaw that came with the burger were great. Drinks were very nice, even with the burger being a disappointment it didn’t have a knock on effect to the rest of the evening. I’d definitely return.

Eva really helped me with my issues with the food, I ordered something not realising it had sauce and she very quickly helped me sort it out and made sure I had a meal that I’d enjoy😊 lovely girl and amazing customer service

The birthday shot I was made by Hermione (the mini zombie) was very creative and delicious. The food was nice and the service was exceptional, again I must mention Hermione who was great at recommending me my first legal drink. So I stopped going to the firepit a couple of years ago, because the service was letting it down. The last 6 month or so, the service is getting better and better, I'm not sure if it's in house training or just new staff having a general understanding of customer service as starting point. Also the food is 10/10 right across the menu, but 10oz fillet on a stone is delightful. A quick mention for Kyle U. He has served me and my friends on a couple of occasions now, we all agree he is a credit to the firepit. On Friday 9/8/24 (8pm) which was very busy, we assumed he was just there to look after us, everytime we looked up he was over to us. Thank you Kyle for making a great evening even better Gaz Bailey

Nice atmospere, food was really good and staff were very helpful. The meat on the hot stone is amazing az you cook it the way that you want. Happy overall.

Extremely poor unfortunately. Very, very slow service from start to finish. 5 mu hte wait at the service desk, 20 minute wait before anyone took food and drink order. 45 minute wait after that for food Cutlery was also dirty on arrival. The food was good, however after a member of staff started spray wiping the tables next to us, bear in mind they are extremely tightly spaced together, the water and spray was flung all over me and my food. Yes he was apologetic and my husband told him it was fine and not to worry but I couldnt finish my meal and he took it away 80% full. We asked for the bill and the same member of staff who had just flung a load of disinfectant and water over my food kindly told us he'd added a 10% service charge. Surely common sense would tell your brain to remove this after not being able to eat £30 of food. This 10% should not be automatically added to customers bills. It should be the customers choice IF they want to leave a service charge and also their choice how much. It's embarrassing for a customer to have to ask for it to be removed or ammended. It is clearly why you do it this way because you know that most people won't have the courage to ask for it to be removed. Other tables were also discussing this and clearly weren't happy with this either. I seriously think you need to rethink this decision and listen to what most customers are saying. However, my husband being my husband left the charge on, he isnt the type to make a fuss. The bill was £94 and he paid £100 cash and was asked "do you want the change?" Quite shocking really. Overall, very poor customer service. The chef's do need recognition though, because the food was good. I hope they get given a large % of all these service charges you add, because they deserve it. The table staff certainly don't. We left not wanting to return. It's the 2nd time this year we have had a bad experience here, so it's safe to say we will be spending our money elsewhere in the future.

Always great food but this 10% mandatory (optional) service charge sucks. Please remember Firepit, this is Lancashire, not Central London. The food is always good but my visits will be much less frequent due to your ridiculous policies. I tip when I feel the food and service is worthy, I don't like to be pushed into it.

Went for lunch, and the food was perfect. It was hot, fresh, and perfectly executed. The macaroni cheese, as a side dish, was a star dish for me. It was so tasty and a perfect size! The steak and blue cheese salad was delicious, and the steak cooked to perfection, with a chargrilled flavour, just the right amount of blue cheese so it didn't overpower the flavours, and the salad was crunchy and fresh! We didn't have to wait long from ordering to eating. Good selection of cocktails and the ones we tried were delicious. Staff were really friendly and ensured we were told about the added service charge, and we could remove it if we required, although we didn't want or need to. Would be nice to see some more veggie starters as if you don't eat fish, there wasn't a great choice, but that's the only downside. Would definitely go again!

Fantastic burgers let down by inattentive aloof lads "working" Then they had the cheek to add 10% tip to the bill. Said it was management choice. When I said I wouldn't pay the tip as its offensive to just add it automatically the young ma serving smirks and says "But we get the tips you know it doesn't go to management". I said I knew and I'm refusing on principle and because service was non existent. Awkward and annoying after dropping £40 on lunch.

We pretty much had the place to ourselves. Late lunch midweek. Suited us perfectly, 2 semi retired middle-aged ladies enjoying a gin and tonic whilst perusing the menu. We should have stuck to the meat as it was the Firepit. We had lovely comfy padded chairs in the glass room at the front overlooking the railway station, which is very quaint and colourful, with the surrounding hills on such a quiet day you could almost be in Thomas the tank engine country. For entrees, we shared the spare ribs that were h in the mouth, falling off the bone delicious. Tempura prawns with a crunchy, pickled cucumber salad, which I keep wanting to eat again and again. And grilled bone marrow, which I haven't eaten for years and was not as tasty as I remember it being years ago (not from the Firepit). For mains, we both had the salmon, which wasn't quite as described on the menu. The potatoes were large potatoes cut into thick slices, the fish was overcooked for me and the lobster bisque although flavourful enough was poured over the whole meal, fish, potatoes and greens so if you didn't like the bisque your whole meal was ruined. I thought it was just ok. My friend said it was one of the nicest salmon dishes she ever had and especially loved the bisque with large chunks of lobster in it. The waiter was friendly and attentive. I told him when we arrived that we would be taking our time, my friend has mobility issues, which causes tremors, so she eats slow. Despite me mentioning this on arrival and it being obvious to the eye, he came over every five minutes whilst we were on our mains to ask if we'd finished. Our plates were half full, and cutlery was still being used. This was annoying after a while. On the whole, we had a lovely time, nice entrees, and wine. Friend couldn't praise the salmon enough, and I loved the atmosphere and views along with entrees. Will definitely go again. Im thinking the young waiter might have been new to the place.

A bit disappointing really. We were so looking forward to going here but it left us feeling a bit short changed to be honest. One of my party ordered the 10oz steak medium. When it eventually came (over an hour after ordering) it was the same size as the 5oz on my mixed grill! They also didn't put the garlic and herb sauce on the well done steak... When my friend asked for mayonnaise we were informed there was a CHARGE for mayonnaise! Bearing in mind we spent nearly £190 between us, to be told that is ridiculous. The plates were also swimming in water. However we hadn't seen these friends for a while so we made do and enjoyed catching up with them until the live music started......the volume level on his amp was ridiculous it drowned out all conversations amd frankly he was a rubbish singer. Totally ruined the rest of the evening- we couldn't hear each other. Why this guy was set up in front of the kitchen right next to tables is beyond me. Lastly there is a presumptuous 10% service charge on the bill - nearly £18 which we didn't pay as all the above just put us off. We even had to ask for salt and pepper 5 minutes after our food was delivered. It's just not good enough I'm afraid.

Absolutely phenomenal! I ordered the 10oz Filet Steak and the Terry’s Chocolate Orange Cheesecake for dessert. Believe me when I tell you that I would be happy serving a life sentence in jail if this was promised as my death-row meal! The best meal I have ever eaten by a mile! Overall 6-star experience!

We went for a bottomless brunch and it was fairly average I'm sorry to say, the staff are lovely but I don't think they have this option nailed down in terms of service. The wait between drinks was too long which is unfortunate because they were lovely. If you upgrade to the cocktails it's £50 per person and everyone needs to upgrade otherwise you can't do it. There needs to be prosecco on the side to fill the gaps between drinks. The food was hit and miss the chicken piri piri skewers were salty and awful and so was the steak skewers they weren't done pink as described. The rest of the food was actually really nice. All in all lovely drinks with big gaps in-between and the food was hit and miss.

Table was booked for 8pm waited at the host desk for 10 minutes before we was seen to. Eventually sat down and then had to wait even longer for a drink as it was table service only. It just felt like it was such a pain to try and order something. Like we were the inconvenience to the staff. Not a single smile from anyone. They all looked so miserable it was pretty uncomfortable to be there. The food was the saving grace. Atleast the chefs care about the restaurant. Can not fault the food at all. However when asked if we wanted any condiments it was 20p each for sauce which I found hilarious. I know it isn’t much but when the average price of a plate is £30 that kind of ruins it all. Just seems like the owner is after one thing money money money.

Went out with my family for a meal with 2 teenagers. Son ordered a steak (rare) which came as requested. Daughter and husband ordered a burger. Myself however, ordered the steak kebab. When ordering I was asked if I'd like it cooked through or pink to which I replied, pink. The kebab came cooked through so I sent it back. The second time it came out pink but unfortunately it was cold as were the vegetables. The staff never came over after bringing out the 2nd kebab to ask whether I was happy with my meal. I ate half the meal and when the member of staff took away our plates, which I also need to add were sat there a while, she asked was everything OK. I told her that the meal was cold and she said I'll tell the kitchen staff. She came back out saying they were sorry!!!! Not what I expected at all. Once we received the bill, we were surprised that we were expected to pay for the kebab. We refused to pay telling them the above. Eventually, they offered to only take 50% of the value of the kebab from the invoice. Not only was I disappointed with the food the service was lacking. Won't be returning.

Well cooked steak but overpowered with taste of charcoal. Chips and peppercorn sauce delicious. Sticky toffee pudding had nice flavour but was like eating an old sponge. Espresso was far too hot with no crema. Lovely service from very young staff who didn’t seem to know how to deal with anything off script

The place really needs to invest in training its staff. There’s absolutely zero communication amongst staff. As an example, we were told four times by different members of staff that our table was needed and we had to move upstairs if we wanted to stay for drinks. Each time our response was that it was fine, but we needed the card machine to pay our bill, and each time no one brought it. Another example, it was our friend’s 40th birthday and we asked to bring a little cake out with a candle. Again, we had to chase it up a few times as the staff kept forgetting. Ordering drinks was a nightmare too as no one would come to the table to ask. I had the same cocktail all night and each time it tasted different. The food was very good though. The vegetation menu has been extended but unfortunately no oat milk for coffee

First visit to the firepit, didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. We arrived half an hour early, but our table was ready. Hermione, our server was lovely. I had fillet steak which was really good. My husband had a burger which he enjoyed, but found it a little greasy. Our overall experience, however, was really good.

Although food was good, the service is very poor, sat close to the bar watching and watched a member of staff with a white shirt and black tie wipe his nose on hand n sleeve repeatedly. Then serve drinks, wouldn’t move out of the way of customers, bad to watch. Staff appear to hang around the bar instead of attending to empty glasses on tables and dirty used cutlery. It’s a shame as the food is great.

Not impress at all.. food was pretty underwhelming, service was meh, atmosphere..?!?.. really strange.. there was a live band on the cocktail bar upstairs, which was being piped through to the restaurant. Unfortunately, only the drum beat was coming through, loudly, to the point we could not have a conversation, and service staff genuinely could not properly communicate with us... left feeling disappointed, to say the least

Came for a family birthday party with 20 of us! My food didn’t come till way after everyone else’s, then it came wrong which I had to send back and then when I finally came you could even cut through the steak with a steak knife! Imagine a steak house not being able to cook a steak correctly. I was then offered a drink instead of food? Don’t see how this helps, disgusted

A very clever menu. Thursday 'Date Night' is a must. 3 courses for a bargain price. The fillet steak was as good as any tasted before. Certainly enhanced by self cooking at the table. Go soon!

Has been several years since we have visited this or any other Firepit restaurants. Was in the area late Friday afternoon and decided to pop in for an early dinner and to allow traffic to quieten down before the journey home. We were greeted at the door and shown to out table. Plenty of options as it wasn’t busy at that time. Both decided on burgers for our main courses. I went for Bacon Cheeseburger at £14.95. My brother went with the Devil Burger at £15.95. Both came with chips. Also ordered some Onion Rings at £3.95. We were both impressed with the quantity and quality of our mains. And the side order was also a good sized portion. Really couldn’t complain about the price of anything we had. You can be paying more than fifteen quid for a burger in some pubs today. It won’t match this quality. All lagers on the drinks menu were under £6.00 a pint. The pint of Peroni my brother had was £5.95. Many pubs are charging over six pounds for this today. My lime and soda only £2.50. Coffee was only £3.00 and a Liquor coffee really cheap at £5.00. My brother got an Irish Coffee and really enjoyed it. A small gripe would be the wine menu. It seemed a much smaller range compared to when we visited several years back. And there was nothing under £24.95. Although I wasn’t drinking on this visit we will almost certainly be returning at a later date to try one of their steaks and would probably order a bottle to go with it. When other drinks are relatively cheap and very competitively priced it seems a shame the same can’t be said of the wine list. When the bill came we were informed that a 10% service charge had been added to the bill. This must be a new policy as don’t recall this being added in any of our previous visits. I’m not a big fan of this but can understand why some places feel the need to do it. We were advised we had the option not to pay it and it would be deducted from the bill. However, we generally tip anyway unless service has been dire. In this case it wasn’t. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient so we had no qualms about paying this service charge. Probably saved us some money actually as we would have rounded it up and given a little more. So all in all it was nice to revisit The Firepit. Happy with the quality and quantity of our food. And the price and the service. And we won’t be waiting as long until we visit again.

Highly Recommended! Large selection on the menu, including Halal, Gluten free and Vegetarian! Well, where to start! Starters of course, with a large portion of baby back ribs in a sticky smoke glaze and sesame, more than ample for myself and left me wondering if I would have room for mains! Garnished with Chilli and Spring onion, tender meat, falling off the bone is a strong starter that could only be beaten by the steak. Onto the Main event- Steak on a stone… You may have had sizzlers before but not to this standard!! 10oz Ribeye, seared and still Cooking to your taste. Whilst this may be a novel idea, I did wonder why I wasn’t asked how I would like the Steak! Want it rare, take it off, want it well, leave it on! Whilst working through the ample sides, which I chose Wild Mushrooms and fries. With Wide selection of sauces and sides to accompany the steak, there’s something for all tastes. I will be visiting again and have recommended to many friends already! I couldn’t fault this place unless I tried the entire menu, and still wouldn’t! Plenty of room in the restaurant, subtle lighting and modern music covering older and more modern scores. Parking can be tight but there are local car parks in walking distance.

Steaks ara amazing, salad as well but the only thing I would like to comment are the cocktails which we've ordered are not my cup of tea. The pina colada is a little bit watery and too much coconut juice on it.

Food was amazing had pina colada but was very disappointed as it was in a small glass bot full and also really sweet couldn't taste the rum at all. But cant fault the food.

Awful experience, isn’t like me to leave food and I left the full meal. They seemed to forget about us all in the corner. Still paid £100 for 2 bites of steak and 3 chips. Really bad. One round of drinks knocked off bill along with starters but still not good enough for what was expected.

Excellent lunch at the Firepit, all the food was cooked to a very high standard. We enjoyed steaks on a stone, chicken Sunday roast and the peri peri chicken, with yummy apple pie and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The staff were very attentive, will definitely be returning.

Went for the first, and last time, the food was good, and that’s it. The service diabolical. Waited ages to get some sort of response from the staff, my wife wanted a coffee , only to be told we have no coffee, it’s broke, the prices they charge for the food they should have more than one coffee machine, you can get a cigar but not a coffee what a joke, we had a table booked for 17 people all the meals were pre ordered we were all sat down for ages young staff just walking round never asked if we was ready to eat, we had to ask for some attention, my son asked 4 different people for a pint got one after waiting 15 minutes, certainly WONT BE GOING BACK,

Food was really tasty and presented nicely. However it took over half hour for food to arrive and when we arrived we were completely ignored by a member of staff before being shown to our table. Drinks were amazing though and the mock tails were delicious

Great atmosphere, great food, attentive and courteous staff. We went with our son, daughter in law and grandaughter. We had a great time and the salt and pepper squid is superb. Parking is free in front of the restaurant. We will definitely go again.

This place should, based on its pleasant interior, have been relaxing. However, on our arrival, the staff saw fit to start dragging chairs and tables around on the noisy floors. It was utterly unbearable, and they clearly didn't give a damn about the effect this might have on their customers. When we received our meals, we had to wait around six minutes for our cutlery to arrive. My wife and I were fuming. Other than that the service was very good and our meals were excellent. I had a halloumi & veg hanging kebab and it was really good.

Prices have sky rocketed, food is average, could of got a burger from supermarket that would of tasted the same, also they now slap on a 10% service charge even after putting up their prices by 35%! 20oz steak is now £70! Also you get more chips in a small McDonald's than this place, avoid

This is not my first meal at the Firepit so my review is relevant to both experiences. Both times I have ordered a sharing platter, the first occasion which was 3 years ago, the food was fantastic but the smoke from multiple people having steak was unbearable at times. This occasion I called at 12PM to reserve a table for 14:30 and was told 3PM was the best available time.... We arrived at 2.30 to a half empty restaurant. We ordered a sharing platter which was £59.99 on our last visit, this visit it was £79.99. The steak came quickly and was great....but nobody asked me how my meal was so I couldn't tell anybody!! I waited for 20minutes before getting out of my seat to go and get myself a drink from the bar, this was after 20minutes of looking for somebody to give me eye contact. If it was busy I would understand, but 3PM on a Thursday it wasn't particularly busy. Great food, unfortunate and slightly arrogant service.

Food is good but has gone down in quality lately. Service is still and always has been the major let down. Waiting, waiting and waiting even for drinks. Have given it plenty of attempts now to get better but to no avail. Doubt we’ll give it another go, can only give it so many chances to improve.

Food was delicious, big hearty portions, decent prices, no long wait times even for a party of 14, service was very good. We've been only once before many years ago and forgot what a nice place it was. Will be returning very soon.

The Chateaubriand was amazing. The service was not as good though, not bad but clearing plates before everyone has finished eating is a definite NO NO in my opinion.

Really good food as expected burgers ,chicken - steak etc . Bar staff/servers could do with a little training. Very young and lack basic knowledge and serving skills bit overall worth a visit

Overpriced and inexperienced staff. Unfortunately our visit was not a pleasant one. We waited two hours for our main courses, understandably we were a group of 10 but a group of 12 were seated after us and had finished their meals all together before we even got ours. Staff all seemed very inexperienced and panicked when a question was asked to them. Would not return for food.

I love this place but I do not like having American service charge on bill

We hadn't been to this restaurant for some time so thought we would visit again particularly as my wife had a reasonable gluten free choice on the menu. It was a Thursday evening which is "date night" when a 3 courses for one price menu is available so probably a bit busier than a normal midweek evening. The two young ladies looking after the tables took our drinks and food order pretty promptly and checked regularly if we needed any top ups. Before the first course arrived one of them returned to double check they had the gluten free order corrrect which was reassuring. There was a bit of a wait before the first and second course but the food is excellent, so clearly the kitchen is taking the time to get everything right. The presentation and taste was worth the wait and if you want fast food there's a McDonald's right across the road.

After doing some research before visiting the Fire Pit Restaurant, I was not left disappointed and would recommend this restaurant to people. I made a special trip to Rawtenstall and Rossendale as it had been 2 years since I lost my mum, who passed away in the area - this was because I was impressed with Rossendale the couple of times I had to visit (I live in Wigan). I thought the menu was good and attracted me to visit the restaurant. I had beer-battered fish and chips, and I also had sticky toffee pudding with custard. Including the 2 Coca Cola Zeros, it was good value for money at just under £35.00. The customer service was very good as they are friendly approachable staff and was a comfortable atmosphere. The place is also easily accessible from Rawtenstall town centre. I am hoping to visit Rawtenstall again before Christmas as I have heard about the outdoor artisan markets on a Saturday in the town centre, so I'll be giving the Fire Pit Restaurant some serious thought about visiting again then.

Lovely food.... Slightly expensive but at least the food and service was on the ball..

Food was good, I asked for my steak rare and it was a little overdone but still delicious regardless. My girlfriends macaroni cheese was the best I've ever tried, really cheesy and creamy and seasoned well. Prices were about what you'd expect, maybe the same you'd pay in Manchester. Service was friendly but did have to go up to the bar on a couple of occasions in order to order drinks. Will definitely return.
